I waited for years for Bringing Up Baby and wait again for the DVD format of this movie. Sex&the Single Girl is lighthearted, the casting is superb, Natalie Wood illuminates, and it is perfect for a raining Sunday afternoon. Please don't make us wait much longer!
My favorite Natalie Wood movie. The all-star cast helps, but she's the main attraction. But why no DVD? Amazon, we want it on DVD!
This a classic comedy. It should be released on DVD. Who wants to buy VHS anymore?

My daughter owned all the SATC dvd series except for season five. I purchased this product from Amazon. It was delivered quickly and at a great price. The seires was great. Thank you.
i completely 100% love the fifth season of sex and the city. true it is extremely short and overpriced but the 8 episodes are pure gold. A lot of the reviewers bemoaned the fact that this season suffers from a lack of laughs and is more serious and the characters feel unlike themselves. I tell those reviewers to take a closer look at the end of season 4, the journeys and behaviours of the four leads is completely truthful and relatably to real life after where we left them last. They are all burnt out, they have all had there hearts broken yet again and now they have realised that they are no longer as young as they once were and therefore feel terrified by the fact that they are still alone. I felt most for Carrie in this season, true she acts selfish towards some of friends at times in this season but she is so afraid of what will happen next after all that has happened - the breakup with Aiden and the departure of Big, that she reverts completely into herself and attempts to keep her friends static around her, as is witnessed in 'Luck be an old lady'. The other characters too experiences emotions that are unlike anything that has come before them. As Charlotte points out ot Miranda in the previous season just before Brady's birth that 'she needs to start letting people in' Miranda feels the full force of that this season when she attempts to balance both her social life with her family life and like Carrie fears what will come next. Charlotte is forced to confront the fact that her Mister Perfect fantasy of a husband was not a fantasy but turned into a nightmare, and that she must finally look elsewhere for the love and intimacy she desires so much. Samantha feels she loses a part of her identity upon opening herself to Richard and being burnt because of it, but it is only when we fall down do we stand up and learn how to be stronger as she learns in the final episode.
This season represent a bridge between the fun wild days of the first four season and the more adult and mature world of the sixth season and movie. It also shows that to move on we must standup by ourselves and move forward into whatever murky future lies ahead because only through that do we grow as human beings.
I have found that all of the Sex And The City DVDs are Great!! If you're a lover of this series, being able to watch them all again is really fun. There have even been a few that I hadn't seen!
The 5th season is the shortest one and it leaves you wanting and wishing there were more episodes. But the ones that are included in season 5 are great. Its the season where Charlotte and Harry meet and Berger and Carrie try to start a romance. I hate how this season has so few episodes but still costs the same as the other seasons that have 3 times as many episodes.
No matter what your age or life is like every woman can relate to one or all of these ladies. Romance, finance, and disagreements among friends.

I love having my series collection to watch whenever I miss New York!

You won't be disappointed in having this seasons episodes!

Now all I need is the Movie DVD! :) Coming soon....

It was a short but sweet fifth season forSex and the City, as HBO's resident comediennes found themselves affected by forces beyond their control--the pregnancies of both Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie) and Cynthia Nixon (Miranda). A truncated shooting schedule to accommodate the actresses forced this season to be reduced to a mere eight episodes, and indeed, you can tell both actresses are expecting. (Carrie's wardrobe became more outlandish and more concealing than usual.) Still, the actresses and creators forged ahead, creating a handful of episodes that if short in content were long on emotion and laughs. Whereas the fourth season found all four grappling with various relationships, the fifth season focused on the perils of being single, with a new intensity lacking in the previous sexcapades. Carrie and Miranda wrestled with their solitary lifestyles, albeit with new attachments--Miranda had new baby Brady and single motherhood, while Carrie found herself in the world of publishing as the author of a real-life book of her columns. Charlotte (Kristin Davis) wondered if she'd ever find another man, while Samantha (Kim Cattrall) finally got rid of the one that had been vexing her far too much, hotelier Richard (James Remar). If the season as a whole felt less than the sum of its parts, those parts were some of the best comedy in the show's history, from Samantha's anointment as the "Michiko Kakutani of vibrators" to Carrie's stressful, one-degree-from-fiasco book launch party. (And fear not, Chris Noth's Mr. Big does pop up now and again.) The season's climactic episode, "I Love a Charade," found all four at the straight wedding of a seemingly gay pal (Nathan Lane) and contemplating their future with a wry, bemused tone. This item arrived quickly and in like new condition. The price was competitive as well.
I think in the 3rd season of SATC the series gets into its stride and it becomes the SATC that people have grown to love. It's a toss up which is my favorite between season 3 and 4 but my absolute favorite episode is Hot Child in the City found in season 3!
Containing eighteen solid episodes of laughs, bawdy doings, and occasional seriousness, "Sex and the City, The Complete Third Season" continues the whip-smart fun of the first two seasons while enriching the pot with additional flavors and nuances. While we do follow the progress of Charlotte's new marriage, this season is slightly more tilted toward the girls themselves- their feelings, their discoveries about themselves, the importance of their mutual friendship- than about who they're seeing romantically. I enjoyed that added attention to the inner life of the core cast. I also enjoyed- mild, broad spoiler here- how the season closed on a subtle grace note, with each of the girls facing a new, uncertain road before them, a road fraught with a little scariness (as they all seem to think to themselves, "what's in store for me?") but also laced with a little hope.
No matter what your age or life is like every woman can relate to one or all of these ladies. Romance, finance, and disagreements among friends.

I love having my series collection to watch whenever I miss New York!

Season 3&4 rival each other, in my opinion, for best season. (Season 5 is definitely the most fun, and Season 6 is definitely the most serious of the bunch)

I love this season because the comedy is so fresh and fun. The storylines are great, and the fashion is in its most forward stage.
In this season, you will find such great quotes as: "I sound like a perverted Nancy Drew." Aidan is introduced and Big makes a steamy comeback, while Charlotte meets the man of her dreams Trey.

And the clothes in the 2 L.A. episodes are so outrageous: i.e. Carrie's neon green bathing suit and her hot pink sequin fanny pack.

The third season was the charm for one of HBO's gold standard series, which earned its first Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series to go along with its Golden Globes for Best Comedy Series and Best Actress (Sarah Jessica Parker). The writing is as sharp as ever, with more trendy product placement than a Bret Easton Ellis novel and ribald banter that's a cross between the Algonquin Round Table and the Friars Club. One of this season's two principal story arcs concerned hapless-in-love Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and her pursuit of a husband; enter (if only...) Kyle McLachlan as the unfortunately impotent Trey. Meanwhile, sex columnist Carrie has a brief but memorable fling with a politician who's golden, but not in the way she anticipated. She then sabotages her too-good-to-be-true relationship with furniture designer Aidan (John Corbett) by having an affair with Mr. Big (Chris Noth), who himself has gotten married.

"Do we need drama to make a relationship work?"
