This is not the best of the Real Sex Series. I don't even have HBO and I can think of better ones I saw at friends houses who have cable. It has a few funny parts, but I'm very dissapointed in what they chose to put on this compilation. What happened to the couple who screwed the Real Doll? Remember that crap? Now that was a classic!!!!! First off, if anyone has seen HBO's Real Sex shows, you'll know that this is The Best of Real Sex. Picking the most interesting segments on the show...and not just a man and a woman getting down and dirty. I've seen basically all of the Real Sex shows from the begining, and the topics or "documentaries" they show are meant to enlighten and open the minds of those who have them closed. You'll find anything in the shows, from the yearly Exotic-Erotic Ball, to a NYC Wall St Exec. submitting to a Mistress by being humiliated in a private Dungeon somewhere in Manhattan. So to those who are expecting some actual, "sensual" real sex-ish porno, this is NOT the video for you...but if you're interested in something like the Miss Nude competition, then buy it :) You might like it... ta ta As the title implies, this video focuses on real sex, that is, real, everyday people and their sex related activities. The topics run the gamut from bondage between a married couple to a silicone-enhanced nude beauty pageant with strippers as contestants. Each segment is divided by short sequences where the "real sex" team ask people on the street about their sex lives. These are enjoyable to watch, and are often quite funny. As for the segments themselves, the best ones involve regular people doing sexy things. There is a (far too) brief segment about a middle-aged woman who teaches a masturbation clinic for women who have never had an orgasm. There is a segment about a "Guerilla fine-art photographer" who drives his models to streets in New York city, has them strip, and then takes artistic pictures of them. It is exciting to see these natural and very attractive people suddenly become naked in these public places. If you have ever fantasized about public nudity, buy the video for this segment alone. There is a segment about a forty-something couple who practice light bondage with each other. Perhaps the best segment is a long study of a sexual awakening camp in Hawaii. The men and women seperate into their respective groups, strip, hug, and kiss. The next day the men and women meet again in a large room and get in groups of four, get naked, scream and shake themselves into a foaming frenzy, then one person in the group lays on the floor, and the three others rub, lick, and suck them into the best orgasms of their lives. Seeing the people in this segment totally lose their inhibitions and become trully sexually liberated individulas is very exciting to watch. There are a few dud segments in this video, such as a long segment about a bunch of strippers who participate in a Miss Nude World contest, and an extremely long segment about transvestites. The strippers are too plastic, and the transvestites are too gaudy and grating for too long. But, since this is a compilation video, it's to be expected that not every segment will be as good as the next. There is something for everyone, though. This is truly a unique video that affords an unprecedented glimpse into the private sexual worlds of regular people just like you and me. They are (for the most part) unposed, unrehearsed, and totally unashamed in front of the cameras. It is a rare and erotic treat not to be missed! I was totaly stuck to it. it did realy have some boring seen's but thats okay. i would give it 2 thumbs up. This movie was very disappointing. It's not very sensual at all, in fact it focuses on many weird topics. As with sex itself, the better parts of HBO's long-running magazine showReal Sexare a matter of personal preference. However, the cable channel's official greatest-hits package,The Best of Real Sex, is an accurate overview of the series' polymorphic interests: loving intimacy, outright orgies, voyeurism, transvestites, computer sex, self-pleasure. The more sensational stuff, such as a story on a Miss Nude World competition or a software company's development of cyberslut "Virtual Valerie," wears thin after a few minutes. But when the accent is on ordinary people with ordinary bodies,The Best of Real Sexis far more compelling. The first feature, for example, concerns a course in helping women of any age experience their first full orgasm through masturbation. Elsewhere, a Maui retreat presents a New Agey curriculum to individuals and partners for deepening their sexual experiences (though much of the footage looks like a carnal free-for-all). Perhaps the most interesting piece focuses on a good-looking guy who spends his lunch hour guiding a peep-show girl through a realization of his fantasies. WHAT IS THE STUDIO WAITING FOR........?????????????? I waited for years for Bringing Up Baby and wait again for the DVD format of this movie. Sex&the Single Girl is lighthearted, the casting is superb, Natalie Wood illuminates, and it is perfect for a raining Sunday afternoon. Please don't make us wait much longer! My favorite Natalie Wood movie. The all-star cast helps, but she's the main attraction. But why no DVD? Amazon, we want it on DVD! This a classic comedy. It should be released on DVD. Who wants to buy VHS anymore? Yes, it's true that the movie took the title of Helen Gurley Brown's book 'Sex and the Single Girl,' generally tossed it aside, and wrote something that had nothing to do with the book's true content. Yes, sexism abounds. Yes, the acting is hammy. But what one needs to realize is that this movie is a very fine satire that was rather ahead of its time for all those reasons. To see the year it was made, one might jump to conclusions and think this movie is serious. But it's funny, it's damn funny, and it knows what it's doing. This movie took the usual romantic comedy farce formula of the time and gave it a healthy beating. If you watch the 2003 movie 'Down With Love' with Ewan McGregor and Renee Zellweger, a parody on '60's romances, you'll notice the same plot line - pretty girl writes book attacking traditional gender roles, sucessful journalist playboy hatches scheme to make pretty girl fall in love to write a story exposing her, playboy falls in love with girl and doesn't want to do the story. When 'Down With Love' came out, it was recognized as a funny parody. The only reason 'Sex and the Single Girl' isn't recognized as satire is because it made fun of its very own time. Give this one a chance and you'll be in for a clever treat. Te second season of SATC gives us a better history of the girls and what their characters are like. They fall into their roles as the story lines get better. It becomes more about friends rather than Carrie doing research for her column. A must have for any SATC fan. If I'd watched this season first, I'd have never gone to see the movie or watched later episodes of the show. Fortunately, most of the syndication episodes I see on TV are with Mr. Big and Carrie; Samantha and Jared; Charlotte and the Jewish guy; and Miranda and the bartender. Call me a prude, but I liked the later episodes so much better because each woman stuck to one man; wasn't having sex on a first date with every guy who looked cute and seemed nice; and they seemed to be slightly more street smart. In this season, everybody's coming home late at night and jumping in folks' cars; having sex with someone different on every single episode (why do we pick on video girls when there are shows like this on the air?); and Miranda and Charlotte drove me insane. Miranda is that bitter, angry, no man friend that every male on Planet Earth can't stand because she's always the tightest friend with their girlfriend. She had some male bashing comment on just about every episode, but ironically, she couldn't WAIT to find a man and complained continuously about why nobody wanted her. Maybe because you're mean and annoying! Charlotte, on the other hand, bothered me more. I respect some of her old-fashioned ways about getting to know a man before having sex, and wanting to not use certain vocabulary words that are classless, but everything else about her made me want to scratch my eyes out. She was a complete hypocrite by lecturing people on being too slutty, but then she had sex with some guy at a wedding. That was a Samantha move! No matter what the guy does, she swears her dates are "the one" and talks about wanting to get married and have children more than even the old 80s sitcoms I'd see. If Charlotte's character met Mrs. Brady (from "The Brady Bunch"), I think Mrs. Brady might ask her to loosen up a little. The first season was better because there was less vulgar humor and more actual slap-your-thigh funny scenes. This season had "jokes" like someone nutting on another person's forehead. Ugh. I hope the third season is better. If not, I'm going to start working with the last episodes and work my way to the bottom. Sex and the city will always be loved but this is definitely one of the best seasons. I now have Seasons 1&2 of SATC, but haven't had a chance to watch them yet. I can't wait for a rainy or cold and snowy weekend, so I can be a couch potato alllll day! No matter what your age or life is like every woman can relate to one or all of these ladies. A smart and savvy (albeit highly stylized) look at the single lives of four thirtysomething Manhattan women,Sex and the City: The Complete Second Seasonbuilds on the foundation of its first season with plot arcs that are both hilarious and heartfelt, taking the show from breakout hit to true pop-culture phenomenon. Relationship epiphanies coexist happily alongside farcical plots and zingy one-liners, resulting in emotionally satisfying episodes that feature the sharp kind of character-defining dialogue that seems to have disappeared from the rest of TV long ago. When last we left the NYC gals, Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) had just broken up with a commitment-phobic Mr. Big (Chris Noth), but fans of Noth's seductive-yet-distant rake didn't have to wait long until he was back in the picture, as he and Carrie tried to make another go of it. Their relationship evolution, from reunion to second breakup, provides the core of the second season. The fittingly titled and keenly observed episode "Evolution" found Carrie trying to leave a few feminine belongings at Mr. Big's apartment with little success, charting the challenges and limits of intimacy. And the season's finale, "Ex and the City," was a melancholy goodbye for Carrie and Big that took its cue fromThe Way We Were. It wasn't all angst, though: among other adventures, Charlotte (Kristin Davis) puzzles over whether one of her beaus was "gay-straight" or "straight-gay"; Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) tries to date a guy who insists on having sex only in places where they might get caught; and Samantha (the exquisite Kim Cattrall) copes with dates who range from, um, not big enough tofartoo big--with numerous stops in between. Through it all, the four actresses cohered into a solid ensemble that played on their complex relationships among themselves as well as with men; in two short years, Parker and company became one of the best TV casts in over a decade. And to top it all off, the second season offers 18 episodes, six more than the first.
