Usually ships in 24 hours Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Battery Hiding Place, Earbuds, Readout Thingie) 『Sony is a trusted name in my house. I needed a new "Discman" and chose the D-EJ001. Battery compartment is in an awkward place-they're hard to put in because the lid is in the way. We should be given a choice of headphones styles when purchasing a player. The ones that came with the D-EJ011 were useless - they kept popping out of my ears, therefore needing almost constant readjustment. The sound was OK with another set. The read-out is too small. The shuffle, repeat etc. symbols are even smaller and are hard to read in any kind of light. I had my player only a few months when it was stolen, and I'm not sure whether or not I'd buy another D-EJ011.』
(Sleek look, long battery life) 『I use CD player mainly for listening to audio books, gone through 3 or 4 CD players in the past few years. In the past, I bought the cheapest ones out there, big mistake. Two AA batteries only last 3-4 CDs, with this Sony CD player, two batteries lasts more than 10 CDs.』
(Utilitarian Machine) 『My wife wanted a CD player she could run with and listen to spoken words. This does everything necessary. It fits nicely into the Tune Belt accessory.』
(Sony CD Walkman D-EJ011) 『I purchased my Sony CD Walkman D-EJ011 at Best Buy when my Memorex portable CD player died after a few years of heavy use. I typically use the CD player to listen to audio books while walking, gardening, doing housework, etc. My primary reason for purchasing this model was because of its memory feature which resumes play right where it was stopped. Since I check audio books out of my local library, they are often slightly scratched and the result is akin to a needle skipping on an old vinyl record whenever there is the slightest scratch. I've been able play the disk on my home sound system confirming the disk is playable. Even after having the disks buffed out at the library, the disks typically will still not play in the Walkman. The only way to continue listening is to forward to the next track which is unacceptable because you may be miss several minutes of play time each time. Additionally, I do not care for the placement of the controls and have frequenly had to restart the player whenever I bumped ever so slightly into anything or had to reset after accidentally going into shuffle mode. Additionally, changing the batteries is more than a little akward since you must remove the disk from the player to pry out the batteries from inside the unit. Although my hands are not large, I literally used a nail grooming instrument to extract the batteries. I much preferred the ease of swapping out batteries on the back panel of my old Memorex player and never worried about dropping and potentially damaging a disk in the process. Within 4 months of operating my Sony player, the audio control got flaky and the unit displays "AVLS" when I attempt to increase the volume; I presume this means the unit has reached its maximum available volume. The end result is that I can not hear the reader when passing either a vehicle or people talking while walking down an otherwise quiet street. The appearance is good is the battery life, but I'm looking for another player. This is the first time I've ever been disappointed by a Sony product and I certainly have higher expectations of their products, especially since they are not shy about charging premium prices. 2 star』

Usually ships in 24 hours Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Good for what it is) 『I bought this CD player/radio combo for my three year old granddaughter. She loves music and dancing. She also loves fidgeting with dials, buttons and pull up attachments (i.e. the antenna). Therefore the primary objective was to find something she could use, enjoy and if it got mishandled and broken wouldn't be any great loss. So far it has handled these minimal requirements perfectly. Just remember it has a single speaker (mono) output so it won't match a stereo "boombox" for sound quality....but it sounds good for what it is. We've had no problem with radio reception.』
(Had to Return It) 『It would have been perfect except that the sound kept shorting out. I thought the cord was loose, but that wasn't the case and so it was unusable and I returned it.』
(Great sound for [...] bucks!!!!) 『This little CD player is well worth the price and has a great sound quality for [...] bucks!! I couldn't ask for anything better than this for the money. I looked at a Sony CD player, but it weighed a ton, and I need something I can carry around easily. This is it! I love it and I'm completely satisfied with my purchase.』
(GOOD BASIC CD PLAYER) 『This is a great little CD Player/Radio for camping or the beach. Not too big and I like the front load feature because it makes it slimmer so it uses less space than those big Boom Boxes.. Wanted something portable for a reasonable price. This was just what we needed. Not fancy but just right for basic listening.Don't know yet about battery life or how long it will last because I have had it for a short time. So far, So Good...』
(Not bad for the money) 『I've had this for about three weeks and it is still working after daily use. I only use it for a night-time sleepy time CD, which is good because the radio kinda sucks - hard to fine tune. Great for night use, though, because it doesn't have a big shiny-bright light to keep you awake, plus when the CD shuts off there is no big click sound. In fact, I've never even heard the thing turn off (this implies that I am still awake sometimes, which I am).
All in all, I'm quite pleased. Maybe in a month or two it will stop working, and if it does? I'll let you know.』 『The PD5098 portable CD player with AM/FM radio by Emerson is the perfect companion for on-the-go music. Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Very disappointed) 『I purchased this unit for Christmas of 08 for my daughter of 14. Just 4 months later with as little as 3 hours of use the CD player stopped reading the disc. I subsequently read reviews of this unit and found several other people experienced the same problem. A call to customer service was disappointing. Not worth fixing and out of the 90 day warranty, buy a new one. Other than not reading the disc, the display was impossible to read without lifting the unit to a 45degree angle. Emerson could care less about customer satisfaction. If it was my company, and I sold hundred of thousands of these units I would replace a defective one at a nominal cost to the customer.』
(great little player) 『I bought this cd player for my grandson and one for myself. It's got a nice sound to it ,reasonably price, has a remote and is very portable.Nice looking little player.』
(SEEMED LIKE A GOOD IDEA AT THE TIME) 『I really wanted another BOSE but just didn't want to shell out the big bux. I read many reviews&decided on this one. I liked the fact that it has a little remote. That said, I just don't use this player. I find the buttons small&counter-intuitive.
The sound is another minus. Maybe its OK for a kid's room but it does not compare with the rich sound of the bose. I really want the one with the disk changer but I've read neg comments about the changer being too loud for a bedroom at night.
My kid says to get an ipod thingy which will hold about a million CD's but I'm an old dog&don't like "new tricks". Maybe when I conquer the new cell phone I'll think about the ipod.
』
(CD feature can't take the heat) 『I bought 5 of these for my childcare center in April. The CD players in 2 are broken in June. (skipping, not reading, etc.) 2 months of use, even continuous use, is not durable enough for the price.』
(Remarkably unintuitive) 『I bought this for my kids to use, and they like it. They only play CDs; they know how to work it; they like that it's not heavy. However, it is remarkably unintuitive. The first time we used it, the songs were repeating, and I had to read the directions to figure out how to get it off this setting. The buttons that control the CD player are arranged around the CD area but also on the front of the player. The buttons that control the tape player are next to where the CDs are inserted. A very illogical arrangement and a disappointment. I shouldn't have to study the buttons before I can get my music going.
Because this is for the kids, its appearance doesn't bother me, but I'd be disappointed if I bought it for myself. The colors are strong, like something Little Tikes would make, and the shape is pretty big and pretty round. I don't imagine that it would blend in with most adult surroundings.』 『The Emerson PD6560BL portable CD-RW player with digital tuning AM/FM stereo features cassette recorder and remote control is your all-in-one portable entertainment system. I really like the "play where it stopped feature". Helps get back to where you had to stop it. Quality of sound won't really make a difference till you put on high-end stereo headphones.
Otherwise, I'd recommend this item to anyone looking to go retro with CDs as that'll probably be what will happen with the MP3 players, Ipods and Zunes taking over everyone's headphones.
Enjoy the Vintage! :)』
(MP3 CD Player) 『This CD player was purchased to add MP3 capability to a radio which can play standard CDs or tapes so that Books-on-Tapes could be heard. If your music is through an iPod this isn't for you, you don't need it. If your library has texts, novels, etc. in MP3 format this is for you. Sound quality is excellent although I use my own ear phones or plug it into the audio input of my radio (make certain your radio has one). It is fully portable and could easily be used with a 'Boom-Box'. Battery life is average and you can purchase a small transformer if you want to use it with house outlets. I really haven't had it long enough to comment on durability. The FM adds nothing but may have appeal to some, the issue is reception as there is no antenna tospeak of.』
(As good as it gets) 『This CD player is about as good as you will find on the market today. So many companies have abandoned the physical medium players for electronic file players that your choices are quite limited. This player is the best I was able to find after many hours of searching. I've used it daily since receiving it and have found nothing wrong with it so far. It even saves your place in the middle of a track when you change batteries. That's a nice feature.』
(SONY NO BALONEY) 『Sony makes the best portable CD players hands down . Don't even waste your money on any other brand . I have used these players for years and use them every single day. Simply put , they do what they say they will do and in the long run that is all we want from products.』
(Gift That Quit Giving) 『My husband got this for me last Christmas and about 6 weeks ago, it started becoming intermittent -- stopping randomly and without reason. The CD I use in it is a sleep aid and that is ALL that plays in this item. The CD plays in three other players and on my lap top but now it no longer plays at all on this player. Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Convenient) 『This as a replacement for an older unit (PD-F507) that I've had for nearly 10 years. The new unit does not have a remote. I appreciate the memory features, program favorites and returns to the last song played when restarting. I have it on alot on weekends, so I know that it's durable. It's a great value!!』
(pd-f407 25 disc cd file) 『this multi cd player is everyhing i wanted and enjoy using the random function....my only negative and this is a slight negative is loading and unloading the cds they are close together which makes it difficult to remove a single cd that is in the middle』
(Pioneer PD-F407 CD changer) 『I would not recommend this CD changer. I bought a used one at Goodwill and have 25 CDs and 300-350 tracks on it. Of these 300-350 tracks there is a core group of 15-20 tracks that play much more often than random selction could possibly allow. So I thought that someone gave it to Goodwill because of that flaw. Otherwise I thought it was a good machine that fit my needs. So I bought a new one thinking it would not have the flaw. The first one did not work at all so I exchanged it for another. The replacement works, but has the same flaw of playing this core group of tracks frequently. 』
(EXCELLENT SOUND, NO REMOTE) 『THE CD PLAYER BY ITSELF IS EXCELLENT VALUE FOR THE MONEY. 25 DISC, FRONT LOADING, GROUPED BY 5 EEACH, TO EASY DIVIDE INTO GENRES, EASY SET UP. IN FACT A BREEZE. IT IS VERY LIGHT TO CARY ARROUND. COMES WITH CHEAP A/V CABLES. NOTE: USE A GOOD QUALITY A/V CABLE IT TRANSLATES INTO A MUCH, MUCH BETTER SOUND.
CONS: NO REMOTE,..THIS DEVICE IS SET UP TO RUN FOR HOURS, NOT FOR THE OCCASIONAL LISTENER WHO LIKES TO CHNAGE CD'S,.. "Best play" is a one-touch trick that lets you commit any 15 tracks to the PD-F407's memory. Just hit the BEST button while a track is playing and the player will automatically store that track in memory. Later, on hitting "best play," the unit will play back all 15 tracks in sequence. The equipment is cheap, does not work and sounds horrible. The speaker on the right NEVER worked and after the second day, the entire set no longer worked. I wanted the stereo system for my office at work. I draged the entire set to work only to have it NOT WORK for longer than two hours and the remote control, never worked. Why is this rip-off allowed to be sold anywhere? This system and the manufacturer should be investigated by the Better Business Bureau. Save your money, bypass this joke of a music system. (Returning second unit) 『Returned the first unit after one day. Now returning this unit. Will not even turn on. Getting a refund this time.』
(I Hate To Say It) 『I love GPX products. They're usually affordable, decent quality electronics. When you can't buy a Sony, a GPX will do the job for a lot less. They're workmanlike, and while they're generally not preferred over higher end or even medium end systems, they do the job they're designed to do.
Which is why I hate to say it, but this is a bad product. I have replaced it several times, and each time the system has failed. The first time I bought one, the whole unit quit working after 4 days, and when I say "quit working" I mean it simply did not turn on, either via remote, by pressing the power button on the unit or any other method to power it up. It was dead already. I returned it and had it replaced. The second unit's remote failed after a week, and then the CD player shortly thereafter. I replaced it again, and this time the unit once more quit working after less than a week. I was exasperated, as I was looking for a simple solution and this player offered exactly what I needed, but it failed to actually meet those needs.
I recommend against buying this stereo/CD player, it just may be a lemon.

(Nice little sound system) 『Looking for a CD player, I found this little number. Unpacking it, assembling it, and turning it on took mere minutes, and couldn't have been much easier. It is compact, light of weight, and sits nicely on a piece of furniture.
Its pluses are its simplicity, a neat little blue display panel (not another green light, please), and a teeny remote control.
Its minuses: the sound is a little reedy, not full; its volume can not be cranked up too much.
Overall: I got what I paid for; I'm satisfied.』
(Lasted one week!) 『This is how good this is. Good looking, reasonable sound quality, but the next minute, the sound started dying for apparentely no reason, and boom it was gone forever. The biggest investment I ever made, as it is pretty cheap for a sound system, but quite expensive for something that will work for only one week.
Moreover, as I live outside the US, I have now to give up and just regret my wasted time and money, as no return policy or warranty will do me any good. Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (SO FAR SO GOOD) 『My Koss boombox finally gave out after 25,000 hours, and I needed something immediately for my two parrots, so I got one of these locally, despite some negative reviews on Amazon.com. The review by lighten_up_already2 convinced me that the Sony product would be fine because I use the product the same way: cds get played on "repeat all" endlessly for my parrots, and sometimes for me (relaxation cds at night.) Using an audio cd, I compared the sound it produced side-by-side with several of its competitors at a retailer, and the Sony sounded better. The first thing I did when I got the product was to test the Mega Bass function, because several reviewers have commented that it didn't do anything. The birds and I listened to some old Boney M and the bass DID get "enhanced"--not much, but I could detect it. In the product literature, Sony claims a frequency response of 20 to 20K HZ for cds, but little bitty boom box speakers couldn't possibly take advantage of that; the audio power specs are what to look at: "With 3.2-ohm loads, both channels driven from 150 - 6,300 Hz; rated 1.8 W per channel-minimum RMS power, with no more than 10% total harmonic distortion in AC operation." If ~150 Hz is the lowest bass that it produces, then you are not going to notice much bass under ANY circumstances (there isn't much to enhance.) The<10% THD must be a misprint; I can't conceive of a Sony product that bad, even a cheap little boombox. I have several Sony products, including and old ES-series tape deck, and I have never had any trouble with any of them. I was disdainful at first that the product included a remote, but, when it doesn't disappear, it turns out to be useful. The controls on the unit itself are, to me, a little awkward and non-intuitive, but I'll get used to it. I don't like the way the cd player part opens and closes: you have to press on a certain spot to get it to open, and it is spring operated. The Koss was much better. One thing that surprises me, considering the historical relationship between Japan and China, is that the product is made in China. I would have more faith in it if it were made in Japan, so I will be watching (or listening, rather) closely and will update this review if necessary. The Koss that died after serving my birds and me so well for so long was also made in China, however.』
(Did the job!) 『Used this in the kids room for listening to lullaby CDs at bedtime and the radio during play time. Did the job faithfully for about 3.5 years, now the CD player doesn't function. Wish it would have lasted a little longer, but to think it played a CD at least 1-2 times every day for almost 4 years, I guess I can't complain! Off to buy a new model. 』
(OK for CD, but tape player's gone already) 『Have used this unit mostly for the tape player. Noticed that the tape keys for forward/reverse seemed to stick. Now, after 10 tapes or so, the play key has jammed, indicating poor quality. I am expecting the CD player to do the same.
However, the remote was interesting. It actually worked (though I'll probably rarely use it).』
(Very poor quality CD player) 『First unit purchased the CD went out at about 6 months. Thought it may have simply been a dud. Bought second unit, also because of the remote. CD on unit lasted about 10 months. Warranty is 3 months, that figures.
Two dud's and you're out!』
