(Canon thought of everything on this one.) 『I did not need the fax or the wireless. It does come with an electric cord. At first I thought I might return it and get one without the fax and the wireless, but decided for the price I would just keep it. I am THRILLED that I did. This printer does everything and is so easy to use and understand. It also powers up ready fast and down fast, so no need to turn it on long ahead of time so it will be ready. I just love it. Also the ink directly from Canon is as good a price as I have found anywhere and you can get it for no shipping if you order two packs. So I will order 1 all black and 1 color. Then order two color the next time and that gives me all I need and I did not have to pay any shipping.』
(MAC OS Snow Leopard user) 『Super easy to set up. If you have the slightest bit of computer knowledge, then logging onto Canon USA's webpage and downloading the latest Snow Leopard software is a breeze. The box included software doesn't support the latest 10.6 Snow Leopard... Thankfully, Canon already figured this out... I'm running my MX860 wireless on my network. Took 5-10 minutes at the most. Ink cartridges could've been a little bigger... but we aren't heavy printers. THANKFULLY I bought through Amazon and not retail... saved at least $50! Good looking printer... modern silver/black finish... light weight. If you have any problems connecting your printer, call Canon's toll-free helpline number... that's what they get paid to do.』
(Prints fast - Takes a long time to get ready) 『It sputters, clicks, clacks, and carries on, but when it finally gets things together, the print comes out quickly. Not a problem for large print jobs, but if you have to go through this each time you do a half-page job, doing a even a few such jobs can slow you down.
The remainder of the functionality is great.
The unit was easy to set up. I had it running wireless within an hour of unpacking it, so I have not had to find out how good Canon Customer service is. I also don't know how long the ink reservoirs last.
At this point, I am pleased with my purchase of this machine.』
(Goes through ink fast!) 『I've had this printer only a couple of weeks. I bought it because my old printer was not compatible with my new computer. The Canon Pixma MX860 was a breeze to set up and I have had no problems with it. There are a couple of things I have noticed, though, that I wish I had known before I bought it.
First, the tray that holds the copy paper only holds about 100 pages. It slides out from under the tray that holds the freshly printed paper. This tray is a piece of flimsy plastic, and every time I try to slide it back in, I'm deathly afraid I'm going to break it. It never slides in straight, always just slightly off center, so I have to wiggle it around to fit right. While the rest of the copier seems well made and solid, this paper tray is a piece of junk.
Secondly, like I said, I've had this printer only a couple of weeks, and only used it really for 2 days, and already I've gotten a warning notice that one of the black ink cartridges is almost out of ink. (There are two black ink cartridges; the other one contains less ink and is used, I think, when you print in color; I always print in b&w unless there's a special reason why it should be in color.) I've only printed maybe 100-150 pages or so; not much at all. My old printer (HP deskjet) would go through reams of paper before running out of ink, so I'm very disappointed in how fast this printer is going through the ink. I typically print my own color Christmas cards/letter, and I can only imagine how much ink this printer will go through, if it empties the biggest ink cartridge after just 150 pages. Luckily, I buy refilled ink cartridges at $6/each (as opposed to $15 for Canon brand), but still, having to replace ink cartridges every week is going to get real old and very expensive real fast.』 『Wireless Office All-In-One Printer with 2.5" LCD&Built-in Two-sided copying and printing』

Usually ships in 24 hours Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Best Damned Scanner Ever!) 『Over the years I have been continually disappointed by every scanner I have used. They were slow. The software was a hassle. The sheet size of the output never matched the input -- I mean who needs an 8.5 x 11.41 sheet anyway! Now my life has changed. I might be more willing to part with a bodily organ or two than my new CanoScan 8800. As an architect I needed a way to easily convert pen and ink sketches into electronic documents. The ease of using the CanoScan allows me to treat pen and paper as an essential computer-based drawing tool. Previous scanners were too cumbersome to dash off a quick hand sketch and email to contractor in the field. Not now. It's almost as easy as passing it to the next desk. JPGs, PDFs - easy. Black and white, color, grayscale - easy. No surprises. Works right every time.』
(Scanner for older slide collection) 『Went on line, read many of the reviews, most very positive. Scanner arrived quickly. Easy to hook-up and install. Slides were in boxes for 20-30 years still came out almost perfect. I am scanning over 1200 slides. The only thing wrong, I just wish scanning time were a little quicker, but I have worked out a routine in between scanning. Great Product. Thanks.』
(Canon Canoscan 880F) 『I purchased this scanner to capture my family's 35mm slides. It captures 4 at a time and the software allows me to clean up the images. This is a much better scanner than slide scanners available for that purpose. I would recommend this to anyone needing to capture thier family's old 35mm slides plus it also is a very good scanner of photos and even documents. It is much more quire than most and very easy to use. Canon makes a good product and the price is very reasonable.』
(Canon CanoScan 8800F - Kudos) 『I purchased the Canon scanner for a family project to document over 200 color slides taken by my father between 1940 and 1972. The quality of the scanner output was beyond my expectations. The scanner works equally well on film strips and on photos. Definitely one of my best computer add-on purchases. 』
(Easy and good) 『If you want to finally get your old pictures or negatives out of boxes and onto your computer, this is a great scanner to do it with. Use them as wallpaper, send them to old friends to remember how you looked, let your kids see what you looked like in a pre-digital age.
This scanner makes it easy to scan your pictures and negatives. The previous reviewers who rated this product highly are correct, and I will summarize those points in a quick format because it works for me. - Easy to install (Windows 7) - Began scanning old 35mm color negatives immediately - Software automatically identifies the negatives when using the holder and scans them in. You don't have to worry about cropping each negative from a pre-scan. I love that!
As other reviewers point out, the disappointments are related to the film, not the scanner: - It's reasonably quick to put the negatives into the holder, but scanning takes time regardless of the scanner. - Picture quality on the negatives isn't what we're used to today. Even at 4800dpi they're blurry compared to digital photos. I went back to 2400dpi for a faster scan time. - I started with 30-year-old negatives and they're pretty beat up after many moves and being stored in old boxes. No miracles. - Negatives get scratched and the photos dim with age. Either way this scanner will do its best to recover the picture and give you basic tools to clean it up. - You can use software to improve the pictures, but that depends on your skill with that software. I haven't tried the bundled software because I have a *lot* of negatives to scan and I'll play with it later. It's just great to have the pictures again, scratches and all.
Bring your life back from the attic or basement - you can do it with this scanner.
』 『Sleek and fast, this powerful scanner will impress you the very first time you push power. With high-luminance white LED lamps - it's ready to scan immediately, with no warm-up time needed. And to save time, you can batch-scan up to twelve 35mm frames or up to four slides - either positives or negatives.』 『The Canon CanoScan 8800F Color Film/Negative/Photo Scanner features high-luminance white LED lamps, which means it can scan immediately without warming up. (Excellent cordless system) 『I have purchased two of these systems, one for me and another for my mother. Both work exactly as expected with no problems or hiccups. I had two other Panasonic cordless phones that each lasted over 10 years. If this one lasts as long as those I'll be very happy.
Pluses - large keypad (great for my mom), excellent sound quality, good price for the features Minuses - no on-touch dialing, non-intuitive menu design
And like all DECT systems, no Bluetooth interference. I can live with the minuses because I don't use one-touch dialing and once you set it up, the menus don't really matter much anymore.』
(Pretty good) 『Sound Quality is superior to all others I have tried. The only real complaint is the amount of difficulty in navigating the screens to add people to the phone directory in the phone. To make matters worse each handset has its own memory so if you pick up a handset that was not programmed there are no numbers in it. All the others I have had shared this simple memory function.』

They were of high quality, great color, excellent resolution and very satisfactory. I have yet to print large (11 X 14 or 13 X 19) size pictures which is one of the reasons I bought this particular printer. The set up was very easy, the machine works just as advertised and is quiet. The only downside thus far-and it is not a significant issue-is that print speed is quite slow. This is true even for a black and white text document.』
(Worth the money) 『I love this printer!! When I print, I get what I see on the monitor and/or what was in the camera. Professional quality color prints done in my home studio. A friend of mine (a photographer as well) has printed on this canon printer and loves the quality of the photographic prints as well . 』
(Superb printer) 『This is a Super Printer !!!!! I love the quality of pics and also ease of use...Awesome !!!!』
(Absolutely Terrific!) 『Canon's Pro9000MKII is absolutely terrific! The best printer I have ever used. After years of experience in darkroom printing, this is the first printer I have found that truly gives you darkroom quality, if not better than darkroom! I was in 35mm photography for years (printing with a Phillips Tricolor) before finally switching over to digital. I finally made the switch about 5 years ago and although my photography looked great on the computer, until now I had never found a printer that I was really happy with. The Pro9000MKII gives the most realistic color reproduction that I have seen, as well as wonderful B&W production. It is easy to use although a little slow on the warm-up and and the noise level level is a little too much, but once it is ready to print, I defy anyone to able to tell the difference between the 9000's prints and those printed in darkroom from a film camera. Unbelievable quality and true color reproduction.
I'm sure there is probably something out there that may make a better print, but if there is I sure can't afford it! For the money, this is THE ONE!

(Canon Pixma) 『This printer, is fast and very quiet. It allows the size flexibility of being able to print up to 13x19, which is a great asset. However, and I am not sure if it is because I bought this printer used, but the paper feed is very annoying. It has a tendency of loading multiple sheets at once, printing crooked and paper jams are a constant occurrence. This can be avoided with this printer, if you feed the paper individually by hand. Also the ink goes REALLY fast, however the quality of prints are high.』 『High Performance Photo Printing up to 13-inchx19-inch for Professional Quality』

It is a night-and-day difference with my new Canon printer. (Sounds like an advertisement but it's not.) Everything about it is so much better. I have already printed more pages than with the other but I had to replace the ink 3 times on the old one (so that means I went through 4 cartridges)to print on less than a ream of paper. The replacement ink was close to $50 so I'm already saving money with my new printer. The wireless part of it works well. I don't know the technical jargon so bear with me. My printer is downstairs and my wireless router is upstairs. Everything communicates well with no glitches or interruptions. I am so happy that I made the decision to get a new printer so soon after getting the other. I would like to see the print a bit darker and I'm sure I can change a setting somewhere but I haven't taken the time to figure it out.』
(GREAT Printer!) 『As usual, the Canon really comes through! Picts are excellent and the interface intuitive. Not sure how efficient it is on the ink, but we've printed plenty and we still show full tanks, so I'm encouraged! LOVE the wireless to allow for our laptop to print w/o hooking up to it. This was a great buy, and is an EXCELLENT printer!』

Their connection with the bases seem to drift in and out. I've had many calls dropped because the phone just loses connection. What a terrible phone. I want my money back!』

(good phone) 『This phone is as good as al of the previous reviews indicated. Main weakness, as noted in those reviews, is that the menu operation is not as straight-forward as it could be. It covers ancestors back to 1290 AD. There are handwritten items, clippings, and miscellaneous articles, some with photos.
The scanner enhances dull print and scans 20 items in about 30 minutes, improving the readability of the items. Scans go to a folder in My Documents and they will later be transferred to a Word 97 document where they can be labelled. From that Word 97 file, they will be either printed as a book of about 120 pages or made into CDs for distribution to the family.

Usually ships in 24 hours Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Good Phones, features ok) 『The phone and sound quality are great. Easy to use menus and answering machine as well. The only feature that doesn't quite live up to its billing is the "talking" caller ID. Its a good attempt at something that could be really useful but this just falls short.
1st off it takes at least 2-3 rings to begin speaking and by that time you can just look at the regular caller ID. 2nd, if the name of the person calling isn't "Smith" that little microchip just can't seem to get it event close to the right pronuncation.
Overall through its a good phone, with clear sound quality.』
(Panasonic Cordless Telephone/Answering Machine) 『A good product at a great price through Amazon. The handsets work as advertised - great sound and easy to setup and use. The only issue I have is that the answering machine does not have a display to show you the number of messages, both old and new, saved on the device. My old Radio Shack system had such a feature and I do miss it. Other than that, I highly recommend the Panasonic cordless system.』
(Inconvenient answering machine function) 『I purchased this model to replace an older Panasonic system as I had been very pleased with that system. However, this model is not nearly as good overall.
PROs: Multiple handsets. I'm using the maximum, 6 handsets. This is the primary reason I bought this system Small foot print for the base station Good sound quality
CONs: Power docking stations are very light and handsets are very easy to knock over. Units feel cheap and insubstantial compared to older model Controls are VERY poorly thought out. Doing basic answering machine tasks requires stepping through a complex menu system. The trade off of a slightly smaller foot print of the base station in exchange for fewer useful controls was a poor one. For example there is no readout telling you how many calls have been received or if a message is erased how many calls are still recorded on the machine. Otherwise this is a good phone but dealing with the answering machine is a major annoyance.
If another brand had a system available with as many handsets and a convenient answering machine I would look seriously at purchasing that and scrapping this model.』
(Just a great phone. Highly recommended.) 『This is a really good phone. No cons. Very happy with it and a good price.』
(Only 6 handsets--ouch!) 『As good as this system is, it has two problems. First: why limit it to a maximum of 6 handsets? What if I need 9? Why can't I have 9? I'm willing to pay for them. So now I have a system with 6 handsets and have to buy 3 other phones which won't work on the system and can't be part of the intercom--which is a critical feature for us. This is a little like buying a 3 legged horse. It works, but certainly not as well as I'd like it to.
Second, the voice quality of the answerer is remarkably poor. In my outgoing message, I give my cell number so the caller can try that number. But the recording quality was so fuzzy that I think many callers won't be able to catch the numbers. Similarly, when I listen to the messages, I can understand them, but I can't recognize the caller's voice. I couldn't even recognize my own voice when I left a message for my husband.
Our old Uniden system was better on both of these issues. But the new system has features I want that Uniden doesn't have. First, it has call blocking so we won't receive annoying solicitations from the same source twice. It also can store up to 50 phone numbers--a big improvement over Uniden's stingy phonebook.
So it's a game of trade-offs. Which features do you really need and which headaches are you willing to put up with? (Excellent quality, easy to use) 『This is the second Zoom H2 I've purchased, not because there was a problem with the first one, but because it is so easy to use that I use one myself and lend the second one out for others to make recordings for me. I record class lectures and sermons to listen to on my iPod during the week. I'm a private piano teacher, so I also use the Zoom to make a quick recording of myself for my students, or of my students for themselves, etc. I make the recording during the lesson, then email the file to the student later that day. The Zoom is small enough to fit into your pocket (it's about the size of a cigarette box) and runs on two AA batteries or the included AC adapter. Transferring files to your computer is very easy. You can choose the file type you wish to record to: AIFF, WAV, or MP3, and you can choose the bit rate (higher for music, lower for spoken word). There is an internal metronome and a tuner, but I haven't ever used these.』
(great little toy - PITA for real work) 『This is a great little toy. But it is a PITA to use for real work.
It does not work the way I think.
It does not do what I want to do very well.
Some things you would expect, it doesn't really do at all.
The plus is that it works and is cheap.
And comes with almost all the accessories you need. I needed some additional cables and adapters. You may not. And it is light and portable. The battery option works fine for field use, and it does have A/C for use indoors.
The bad is that it is crippled featurewise which may help sell more H4s but leaves this thing as just a toy that I hate to love.
Worse - it has a lot of useless "features" that bumped out what is really needed andor ran the cost up.
Don't need a metronome. Got one that is better and easier to use.
Don't need a tuner. Got one that is better and easier to use.
Don't want to copy cds with it. My PC does that job better.
Don't want a usb mike. Better quality from it if you record to the SD card and copy the files.
Don't want to split files, or adjust anything with this device. The DAW on my PC does that so much better and easier.
There is no way to just record ,play, and then save a file OR RERECORD. The thing just keeps creating new files every time you stop and start recording. And there is no way to erase them except one at a time. BIG PITA!
Superscope elevation and a PC with an interface will beat this thing hands down for quick easy recording at home.
You cannot pause and then continue recording. It creates yet another file. PITA!
There is no speaker! You have to use earphones to hear what you recorded to check it. PITA!
The manual does not give any details so you have to guess which of the agc/compression/limiting functions really would work best. Ditto for low cut. Annoying.
The mike gain , at least on my unit, is inadequate for field use. And not really useful to record discussions well in a medium sized conference room.
The manual even says you need to be about 6" to 5 feet from the source. Major fault for field use and many situations. If I could get that close then I would use a real mike and a real recorder or PC w/ audio interface.
They hype the 4 mikes, but the european version appears to have midside miking which would be better for stereo. W arrangement is just a Gimmick IMHO.
Not sure about this in the manual, but I tried to play back the way it showed and got strong feedback loop. Not sure how or even if you can turn off the recording function so you can playback externally without blowing the speakers out.
The manual is mixed quality. And poor where you need it to be detailed.
It says it can do 96/24 recording but another page warns that it may miss data at that speed. So basically you need to record at 44.1/16 CD rates instead of getting higher quality to assist in editing.
I could have gotten another recorder with a speaker, at about half the cost, if I knew that my quality was limited, and the functions were hard to use.
File handling is awkward. PITA.
This thing can record a long session for the record. And you can edit on your PC later. If you try to use the editing features on this thing you are a masochist, IMHO.
And if you just want to replace your old tape recorder to capture a musical idea and then record over it until you get it right this thing makes you really work at doing that. PITA. Way too many button pushes needed.
Overall very disappointed in ease of use. Quality is very good, and capability is good but not great.
For the price, if you can live with the old VCR style of difficulty in using it, then it is a good buy.
If you want easy to use, keep looking.
This thing needs a speaker. And desperately needs the ability to pause and restart recording to the same file. And it needs an erase all files command.

(Exceeded my expectations) 『This unit blows me away! I use it for interviews and occasionally recording choral groups. This is 10X better than the horrid Sony Mini disc recorder it's replacing.
The built in mics sound better than my SM-58. It has features built in (compressor, auto gain control, normalization, etc). I needed post recording software(Adobe Audition)before.
The 360 degree recording is, as Will Ferrell (in "Blades of Glory") would say: "Mind bottling"!
By the way, it cost me $30 LESS than the mini disc recorder.』
