Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Great Mini System) 『Just recieved my system today. I found that the system has easy to understand instructions, even though you won't need them to connect the speakers. The sound quality is great for this type of system. I have a two bedroom apartment and it just what I was looking for as an audio system. I read some negative reviews about this systems, with the exception of the reviews that state the their system came broken, this is not a high power system it is a compact system for apartments/dorms. So, if you're looking for a high power system, this isn't it. If you're looking great compact system, this is perfect.Philips MC235B Flat Wall Mountable Micro Shelf System (Black)』
(Awesome...exactly what I was looking for!!) 『I'm using this in my bathroom. It is PERFECT! It has a timer setting that works like an alarm clock, I've preset it to come on at 5:30 am to my selected radio station. Much better than the annoying scream of an alarm clock! Works great for me.』
(Cheaper at Walmart) 『I bought this at Walmart for half the price that's listed here on Amazon. Got it as a gift for a friend who was in the hospital in long-term care so he'd have something to listen to while convalescing in the hospital. He loved it and listened to it every day using ear-buds until somebody at the hospital stole it out of his room in the middle of the night when he was sleeping.
He had really liked it and thought I had paid far more for it than what I did.
Check Walmart first before buying it on here, if they have it in stock you'll save some money.』
(quit working after a month) 『I was disappointed with this system. when it worked the sound was great and i loved it that we could attach our MP3 player to it. but then after a month the CDs wouldnt work. Tried to fix it and called tech support also but couldnt figure it out. Since i had bought it using some credit card points i couldnt return it as well. the radio still works. I gave 2 stars because of being a poorly built product.』
($$$$$???) 『I bought this phillips stereo system from amazon in january, 2009 and paid $78 for it. I mounted it in my kitchen for when I'm cooking and enjoyed it so much, I thought I'd get another one for when I'm hoop-dancing outside (aerobic-check out on youtube). I saw it at wallyworld for $74 and thought I'd check it out on Amazon. Imagine my shock when I saw it listed for such a high price ($260). It is a great little piece for $70's, but I'm tight on the purse-strings and have never had the itch to spend more than I had to. Shop around for a better price. That's the only reason I didn't give it a 5 star.』 『Micro audio system, Plays CD/CD-R-RW, remote, Flat design with front motorized CD door, wall mountable, Wake to CD or radio, Sleep timer, Digital tuning with 40 presents, Black』 『The vividly chic Philips MC235B Micro Shelf System gives you dynamic sound performance packed in a sleek design that can be mounted on your wall. It has a great sound. User manual less than efficient. Marks everything 1-2-3- etc. but nowhere does it tell you what 1-2-3 is. Weird. I finally figured it out. Agree that owner should be able to prograM radio to their specifications but can't delete the original settings. Each part of the country have their own broadcasting stations and should be up to owner to program. Love the sound however so makes up for first frustrations.』
(Simply Fantastic) 『I only have a single word for this system "Awesome".....
I was little worried when I was buying this product since we had a similar Sony product (EC 69i) but with lower RMS Wattage. But this product is really worth its money. Perfect for Small and Studio Apartments.
Pros: Sound Quality Size 5-6 equalizer mode Gets connected to PC and TV
Cons: Hard to find one.
If you are buying a Mini HiFi System , I would suggest go and atleast have a look for this system.』
(Very Good System for the Price) 『This system is good for small areas and not meant to replace a large stereo system. It is good for college students, children, and medium to small rooms.
Pro's 1. There is plenty of bass, sound, and quality delivered. 2. It is compact for people that want a small stereo system. 3. The sound is clear for the casual music player. 4. It has an auxiliary plug so if you want to play music off your IPod, PC, MP3 player, or possibly your phone it can be hooked up. If your phone does not have an auxiliary port then it won't work. 5. It contains a remote control which means you don't have to keep going to the stereo to change music.
Con's 1. There is an Ipod dock that has a specific port but it only fits Ipods. I was under the impression it would fit a Sony MP3 10 GB player but doesn't. Odd Sony did not accommodate the port for their own players. But the auxiliary port makes up for that loss. 2. The sound dial is too big. If you look at the picture you will see in the middle a sound dial. Why do these dials have to be so humongous? But that depends on opinion. 3. It has an equalizer built in but it's already pre-programmed for rock, jazz, etc. You cannot manipulate the equalizer to your liking you must choose a pre-programmed setting.
Overall good value for such a small price. Some people want long speaker wire well this will not exactly accommodate you. It is meant for a shelf the speaker wire is already built into it.
If you are comparing the higher price Sony Mini Shelf system or the cheaper one this one is worth it. The lower costing Sony Shelf mini listed isn't really worth it in my opinion because you can get those at Wal Mart. The higher price shelf mini is for those that have the money for the few extra features. I would highly suggest this one.』
(Plays my iPod on my stereo - great!) 『The sound more than adequately fills the room. Lots of bass. All the power I need. Easy to set up. And, as the title says, I now can play all my recordings from my iPod! Love that!
My only complaints are.... yes, the speaker wires are definitely too short. I would also like to adjust the balance of bass and treble but there is no way to do so. On my previous system, I could easily hook in my TV but don't see any way to do that with this system.
Still, worth the price. I would purchase it again.』
(great buy!!) 『I resently purchased this system for my son and it has exelent sound for the price. If your consideing to buy this system, buy it! This system has great bass and drums. Also an up to this stereo is that the ease of set up, it took my 13 year old about 20min to get this system set up and programed. The only downside to it is the speaker cable length.』 『iPod Ready,Charge, Play, Control. I order it on a Saturday and it arrive Monday November 2, around 1 pm (shipping was free with Amazon Prime). The system has a really great sound even at the max. For 181 + tax = around $196 is a cheap price. You can hook up your ipod right away and even your iphone but in plane mode. It was a really good buy!!!』
(Excellent Stereo) 『This Stereo has Good Sound&BASS. I use it as a sound Output for my TV via the PC pulg&it WORK Great. Lots of Sound from the 580W&the Sub-wOOfer Thumps but you have to have it Loud. I have NOT tried the iPod dock. But even Though this SYSTEM ROCKS when you CRANCK it UP!!!』
(Pretty good for the price) 『Overall, I am happy with this purchase. It has its pros and also its cons. It does have a pretty good sound quality. I have noticed every now and then a song will sound a little bit flat. This system CAN kick out good bass though. I have noticed (as another reviewer did) that the bass seems to be best at around volume level 15-18. That is very loud on this system but that is when the sound seems to be most balanced. Every once in a while I will hear some crackling from the speakers when songs get noisy, even if the volume isn't up high. The cord length is a bit short. I also would have liked a custom EQ and almost didn't purchase this system because it didn't have it.』
(Sony ec99i Review) 『I would rate this at more like 4.5 stars, though for the price it is definitely amazing.
Pros: Plenty loud (esp. for a college dorm) Fairly rugged though i wish the ipod dock was made slightly heavier duty, though i have no problems Good bass Cheap price quick shipping from amazon
Cons: Only one cd tray no custom equalizer or manual bass adjustment I wish it had more options and buttons for some features wires to the speakers are not that long, nor is the power plug cord no av jacks
I would recommend this product, especially for the price (160 is a steal). It has been holding up well to loud music for long periods of time and no audio defects or problems so far.

Usually ships in 24 hours Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Works great for what it is&the home antenna is a big + !) 『I have 2 of these (and 1 mobile dock that I use at my office location), one in my "computer" room and 1 in my garage connected to a boom box.
I have been able to place the antenna indoors&get good to great reception (depending on where the satelite is at the time) with no dead time. (this is toward the ceiling of the room, did not need to place in the attic or outside)
I only have the line out connected to either my computers sound system or the boombox in my garage (no reception on the Stiletto 2 alone in there). When connected via USB to transfer some of my music to the SL2, it can be VERY slow. (was the same with previous SL100)
Not sure if this applies to this dock&the SL2, but on my previous Stiletto 100 and home dock, doing a software update through the dock was hit or miss. Once thought it became corrupt (with tech supports help also!) but doing it again using the dirrect connect cable, all went well.
Also by being in the dock (as other have said) works for recording stuff to listen to later (IE: Dark Wave on Sunday nights from 22&then listen to in the morning at work!)
As a FYI, if you need more the 21' to place your antenna, use the 50' extension. I use this at work so I can place the antenna way across the office to where I have line of sight to a terrestial repeater (else 0 reception where my cube is)&get a solid 2 bars!』
(Useful Accessory for the Stiletto 2) 『Most of the reviewers of this product are failing to mention its most salient value-add, which is the enablement of convenient upright desktop listening when the radio is far from a window. The base allows easy attachment to the included AC charger and antenna as well as your stereo speakers. The external indoor/outdoor antenna with 21' cable costs $34.99 by itself. So you are getting the dock, charger and remote control for only $15. This is great value from my perspective.
My particular application is the recording of various CNBC programs both in the morning and in the evening. This allows me to listen to the programs during my urban commute and fast forward through the commercials. This content is extremely valuable as I work in the financial services industry and need to absorb as much news as possible before the stock market opens. The dock and its external antenna allows me to listen to the radio where is it most convenient for listening but not necessarily the best location for reception. My urban commute is generally on a bicycle, in a taxi or on a bus/subway, so having a robust method of listening to programs like CNBC Squawk Box for 30 minutes that would be otherwise be wasted is a big productivity gain.
As reception deep inside my thick-walled prewar high rise is limited, the remote antenna dramatically improves the quality of the recordings and the overall user experience. Before purchasing this dock, I would place the Stiletto 2 on the window ledge so I could record key programs. This made listening to recorded programs while it was still recording not feasible. Now, I have the Stiletto 2 on my dresser plugged into a surplus pair of computer speakers. This allows for uninterrupted recording while I am listening to recently recorded or live programs. When I am ready to leave, I quickly remove the Stiletto 2, plug in the headphones and head out the door. My one issue with the dock is that it does not accommodate the case that Sirius itself sells. So, I have to spend a few extra seconds placing the Stiletto 2 in its case. This is very minor issue, however.
One other change I would suggest to Sirius engineers is that they provide a slightly more flexible antenna mounting mechanism. For those using the antenna indoors, it would be helpful to have suction cups or adhesive mounts so it could be affixed directly to glass. While the current antenna pivots on a base, there is a limited range of motion. So even if the user wanted to use double-sided tape to attach the base to the window pane, the actual antenna would be facing into the room. In my application, I used double sided tape to attach the base to a relatively narrow window ledge. This has worked fine and I am very happy with the reception.
In summary, this home dock is an excellent value. It improves reception and make access to the radio more convenient. I would especially recommend this product for anyone who wants to record important programs and/or listen to the radio while the recording is in progress.
Pros Dramatically improves reception Great value Enables quality recording of shows while the radio is in the most convenient location Easy upright placement close to external speakers for easy menu navigation
Cons Doesn't accommodate a case (minor) Antenna mounting orientation is limited

(A Home Base for my Sirius Stiletto 2) 『I have owned Sirius radios for over 7 years and this Home Docking Kit is exactly what I expected. I use it to connect my Stiletto 2 to my home stereo. I use the included antenna (I ran the cord through a window and placed it on my roof according to the instructions) and get great reception. An added benefit with the Stiletto is that I can record up to 100 hours of programs to listen to when I am on a plane and I do all of that recording while it is docked. I am very happy with this product.』
(beware: not compatible with older stiletto models) 『"please ignore my 3-star rating for this item; i provided one only b/c i'm required to in order to post. i'm sure the product, in and of itself, is fine, but i bought it for a very specific application, which in theory should have been easily achievable, and instead was not. read on if curious.......i have (what is now) an older model of the stiletto, the SL10, which i had always used as a "walkman"-type unit only. recently, out of necessity, i decided to purchase a home kit for my stiletto. i''ve had relatively good success with other sirius home kits (used to have a starmate 1), so i was inclined to get a simple home kit for the SL10, rather than a boombox-type home dock, the soloist model, or other. as of the date of this review (nov. '08), it is almost impossible to find the SLH1 home kit (the one for the SL10 and SL100 models) at retail any longer, so i (rather stupidly) assumed the SLH2 would work just fine. comparing/contrasting online photos seemed to suggest the two are interchangeable, and sirius recently has released products with more standardized serial ports, and universal-type docks for other receivers, so it seemed reasonable to assume the newer SLH2 is backwards compatible with the older SLH1. THEY ARE NOT. i bought an SLH2, and when i removed the pieces from the box for some old-fashioned, hands-on comparison, guess what? while the male/female jacks for the A/C power cord, the antenna, and the audio out appear to be the same, sirius -- apparently -- has resized the chassis (a few centimeters in width, and a few more in depth) for the stiletto 2, and then further exacerbated the problem by retooling the mold for the docking cradle, so that now it is sized only for the stiletto 2!! WHY? why does sirius still make disastrous product engineering decisions like this? they are standardizing other design features. can they not take it one step further and -- at a minimum -- at least standardize accessories within a given product line, regardless of model age? short of an enterprising owner in possession of a dremel, an X-acto knife, some precision tools and TIME, the only way i can see how an SL10/SL100 could work with the SLH2 is to surgically carve away some plastic. i have none of these, so i returned the item."』
(Everyone should own a Stiletto 2!) 『I love the Stiletto 2. I got it as a present for my husband's birthday and it was finally the one time I got him something he would have never got for himself but loves. :)
We enjoy it so much and got the extra memory card so we have 8GB of our own music on it, too. I am SO glad I got the home kit...we can sit right in our living room and play it through the stereo and it's awesome!! 』 『You'll need this home kit to play your Stiletto 2 satellite radio through your home stereo. It includes a desktop cradle which can recharge both of the Stiletto's batteries at the same time, and features a USB input for connecting to your computer.
The kit also also gives you an audio cable, an indoor antenna, and a home power adapter. The audio cable plugs right into your home receiver's audio input. Or you can use the wireless FM transmitter to "broadcast" the sound over any FM radio. The Stiletto is sold separately.』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Wave Music System) 『This is the 2nd Wave Music System I've ordered within a month. It seems people either love or hate Bose equipment. Let me start by saying that I am a Bose lover. I have several Bose systems in my home and in my '07 TrailBlazer. I was going to get a Bose Acoustic Wave System but instead bought 2 WMS units. I felt that the Acoustic Wave may be too much for my Computer Room (I have a pair of Bose Companion speakers on my main system), and with 2 WMS units I could put one in another room. Are Bose systems pricey? Yes, I feel they are. But the more important question is; do Bose system put out good sound. I feel they do. I think for the cost of a WMS they should INCLUDE the premium remote because like others have said without the remote the unit is pretty useless. That being said without any buttons and stuff on the top like the Wave Radio (which we also have), it does make for a very clean layout and possibly another small device could be put on top such as the iPod accessory. For the kind of music I listen to, smooth jazz and contemporary instrumental, I feel the WMS sounds great from a very quiet background level to a room filling relatively high volume situation. I'm not talking concert hall but a more or less "normal" size room in a typical home. Some complain about the lack of tone controls which is essentially true other than the "talk" mode for talk radio. I think what Bose tries to do is recreate the music as if you were in a concert with that group/artist. A few artists that I typically listen to, I have attended their concerts and based on that I feel that Bose does indeed recreate the sound accurately. Is it perfect? Probably not. Is it realistic? I think so. So in closing while I agree that Bose is a bit pricey and they should include the Premium Remote, I am VERY PLEASED with these 2 WMS units I bought.』
(Great even at a Distance) 『I had the Bose Wave Music System (one disk changer and remote) for a week or so now. Never thought I would pop the $$ for this but when I found it at a good price, I said "go for it". I'll admit, I'm surprised and impressed. I did expect it to be different, better and so forth - just because of the reputation - but I was not prepared for the details of that difference. The sound is remarkable. It not only sounds great when you're in the room with it but also because of how well it produces music throughout several adjoining rooms . For example, when I am in my living room, two rooms away from where I placed the Bose (in the kitchen at the rear of the house and facing the back) the music sounds almost even better - its rich and full and more rounded than any of my other music systems with the possible exception of the one that takes up a great deal more space. I like listening to it from my reading chair in the living room....great full powered sound without being overpowered by it... I hear details of CD music I've not heard before from such a distance. I think the distance listening factor of this unit is the most remarkable feature of all that are mentioned.
Some reviewers have been critical of the unit being controlled only by the remote with no on board buttons. I can see that as a problem if you have kids and pets (who like to eat remotes - and yes, both the kids AND the pets might do that).... but for me, a single guy living alone, it is no problem. Actually, the unit looks sleek without all those buttons on top and you don't have to worry about dust accumulation. Just the same, I do recommend getting a backup remote - easily available on the eBay market (just Google it). If you've got an extra $500 for a new unit, go for it...or, if your funds are more limited, look around. It can be found for less. In my case and considering what I paid, it was more than worth it. 』
(Great sound, great look....pricey, but worth it) 『Just completed a major kitchen remodel and when all was done, we realized the one thing we hadn't considered was MUSIC. Previously, we had an undercabinet Sony unit which was fine, but with the new kitchen, we had built-in undercabinet lighting and no where to mount a similar unit. Ended up picking up a refurbished Bose Wave in Titanium Silver at a Bose Store for 20% off...while still pricey @ $400, the clean look, excellent sound and radio reception made it worth every penny. Its a nice, clean look that blends in nicely with our blue/white granite and stainless appliances, and really fills the kitchen/dining area with sound...all our friends have commented on the great sound. It's also nice to be able to plug in our Ipods with a standard head-phone-like connector...although Bose offers an Ipod dock (w/ charging capability) for $100, the one review on Amazon was not so great so we passed on that. Definitely recommend this unit.』
(Makes the Whole Room a Sweet Spot) 『When my family, husband, twin daughters and me, decided to move from Montreal to Austin, we had some major decisions to make. What to take, what to sell. We had a couple top flight stereo systems, a 5.1 surround sound system to beat the band, my camera gear, -- I had "L" everything, three bodies and lots of other terrific lenses -- and a decade's worth of pretty nice stuff that we'd accumulated. We were pretty well off, but not rich, not even upper middle class. This move was a big deal for us. My husband had a new job, but what about me? I was losing a pretty good income.
But Austin, what a wonderful city. And it's warm. We decided to go for it, so we sold everything we could, reaped a small fortune on eBay. So bye bye, beautiful sounding music, bye bye my cameras and the gear I loved.
That was a couple years ago and we're doing okay now, better than okay. We have back a new big screen TV, a new surround sound system, but we still have beaucoup de rooms that need good music and on a THELMA AND LOUISE type driving trip with my friend Katie I discovered the Bose Wave Radio System. We stopped at the outlet stores at Woodburn, a city south of Portland, Oregon and when I walked into the Bose store I was blown away. I listened to everything and when I got back to Houston I made some major purchases, it's nice to have some money again.
I have this system in my kitchen, on top of the refrigerator, and it fills the room with a warm sound with just enough, but not too much bass. There is no single sweet spot, no single place in my kitchen where you get better stereo, the whole kitchen is a sweet spot. I bought three Bose systems for my home and I love them all, use them all. They are a little pricey yes, but I think they are worth the money.』
(Overpriced but good quality.) 『I was hoping for a good music player and a alarm clock. It makes a decent music player and alarm clock. It is supposed to have really good sound. The sound is muttled and there are no adjustments to make it any better.
I didn't like the fact that there were no buttons but I've found that it doesn't really cause to much of a problem as long as the batteries are good. It does however have a couple annoying features.
It has an auto dim feature for low light which I would rather disable but it won't let you. It will let you turn it up some with makes it tolerable. When you set the alarm it comes on low but it automatically goes up to 30 which I wanted louder but again no adjustment.
Now the good features. It seems very well built and sturdy. The design is attractive and fits in most places with no problem. It does have a Cd player which works well as long as you don't what to preset tracks (It will only shuffle).
With all this said, I still have to give it a three. I would give it a four if the price tag wasn't so high. For the money, I expect a few more adjustments. It is very easy to use however and serves it purpose well. It does need to have more options. It works well and seems like it will last a good long time. I'm fairly happy with it.

Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Not again) 『First I purchased a rebuilt Bose with the add-on CD unit. It worked very good for a few weeks till I decided to leave it on (for background music for my cats) while going to the next town. After about 3 hours on my return it could not be controlled with any of the 2 remotes. Sent it in for repair. With some delay Bose sent me a new one. Now about 1 year later the New unit is just a digital clock. It will not work with any of the now three remotes and without an on/off switch this second unit is use less. I'm not sure if I'll send it in for repair( is this going to be a yearly repair) or cut my losses and buy something else. I suggest before buying these Bose Wave units you look very hard for something else, besides the sound is really NOT that great.』

(High priced hype with plastic surround.) 『I had one and was seduced by, " it sounds better than a stereo many times its size". What rubbish. It sounds "so so" and nothing at all special I used mine in the UK and USA and the classical FM channels sounded really flat and lifeless. It is all plastic which looks crappy after a while. My BOSE was white in colour and turned a pleasing tone of old ivory. If you want a great sounding small system try the TIVOLI Mk 2 with the CD player. Nicely built with wood and a warm pleasant sound. You cannot get great sound with a mini set of speakers. Thats fact. I now own a analog tube stereo and cd player with Klipsh speakers. That is music!』

THEN--a simple user friendly setup which resulted in glorious sound! The design of the radio is superb, resting on a small table and adding class to my hum-drum life. This well designed, well researched product is a tribute to the Bose company. Thank you, Granny Dee, San Diego, California 』
(I almost bought this to find common ground with the rest of humanity) 『I laugh at and mock the Bose company both on Amazon and in real life among living, breathing human beings. This shocks some, offends others, and perhaps mildly annoys the rest. "Bose" is used by the masses swimming in disposable income to mean "good audio" as "Coke" is used to mean bubbly sweet brown liquid. I myself have fairly cheap audio products, except for some expensive (by non-audiophile standards) speakers I bought without any good reason a long time ago. But the point is, I grew up in a home with good audio equipment. I recall when my brother once saved up his money and bought some fashionable Bose monitors to replace the cheap speakers that came with an all-in-one stereo he'd got hold of. Problem was, when we hooked them up, they sounded worse than what they replaced--thin, lacking in bass, clarity, presence, whatever. Compared to my father's various speaker pairs, they were absolute trash. He doggedly used them for years because he'd spent a few hundred bucks on them; however, and all his music sounded like it was coming across the world's loudest AM radio.
And over the years it seemed every time I encountered a Bose product--attached to computers, in cars, in living rooms--it sucked either in actual performance, or was was ridiculous in concept, such as the strangely shaped $250 3-CD changer the company markets. But "Bose" rolled on like a CEO from early in this decade, living the high life and laughing at the discrepancy between performance and pay. And the shareholders, as it were, were fine with that, while I remained a sort of Nietzschean outsider, gnashing in my teeth in lonely superiority alone in my garret.
But something has happened recently that cracked my seething hatred of the Bose company, and given me hope that someday I might be reconciled with the rest of mankind: I heard a Bose product that I liked quite a bit, twice. It was this radio at the home of a friend and colleague. Although I normally only listen to emo, it was tuned to a classical station, and there was not one thing really wrong with how it sounded. Because of the modest size and the nameplate, I expected not much at all, and instead heard something strongly adequite for eating and drinking to. It sounded better than my brother's old Bose speakers, that's for sure. The bass was OK, the sound was clear and balanced as it echoed around the room. It sounded about as good as hooking up a compact CD player to a Peavey combo guitar amp, like I did it long ago. Likewise, from across the room, there was no clear sense of listening to stereo, but you can't have everything, specially when it's a Bose.
I briefly thought about buying this thing partly out of perversity and partly to put in my office and probably would have if it had been about $300 to $350 cheaper. But if you have money to blow, it's not a bad product at all.』 『The Wave music system reproduces one-half octave lower musical notes and delivers even greater clarity and definition than the original Wave radio/CD. The large, bright display panel is easy to read and understand, prominently displaying the artist, title and album names of your suitably encoded MP3 CDs. It's also easy to enjoy the system's full, rich sound with your TV, VCR, DVD player, or computer, thanks to an auxiliary input jack. And if you want to keep the music to yourself, you can simply plug your headphones into the headphone jack. Polk Audio
Usually ships in 24 hours Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Great Sound but Controls could be better..) 『The system is really excellent and has fantastic sound quality. The I-Sonic blows the Bose systems out of the water effortlessly, and has far more functionality, with an input for an auxilliary device, direct port for satellite radio antenna, etc. The only issue I have with the system, and the only reason i didn't give it 5 stars is due to the limited access to the alarm functions. You literally have to use the small remote control to select, change, and ultimately turn on and off the alarm functions, which doesnt make any sense. Of course, there is a snooze button so if you want to snooze and not turn the system off once the alarm sounds, you're in business. Despite this, it is a fantastic system, well worth purchasing!』
(Kind of conflicted on this thing.) 『This device is, well, unusual. I have a lot of feelings about it, both positive and negative.
Pos. Has HD radio - something you can't get with Bose. HD sounds GREAT, mostly because the signal is not generally "processed" like the analog FM signal is. HD is noticeably cleaner with better dynamic range.
Con. The HD is pretty marginal. It seems reluctant to "lock up" with the HD signal. It has a a unreliable, unpredictable feel to the HD function. I have a not-very-expensive JVC HD radio in my car, and the HD works a LOT more reliably and transparently than in the Polk.
Pro. FM without HD sounds good. Tuning ease is acceptable.
Con. FM reception seems weak. I had to use a C.Crane Reflect antenna to get reasonable reception. I use the radio at work, on an outside wall, near a window, and about 7 miles from the major broadcast antenna farm for the area. This should provide very strong signals with virtually any or no antenna, but no such luck. I tried several antennas and the C. Crane works the best, but it has to be carefully positioned, and cost another $35 to boot.
Pro. Sound is good. It seems to be comparable to my Bose Wave Radio and Bose Wave Radio II. (The II is clearly the better sounding of the two.) The bass and treble controls on the Polk are nice to have. Bose seems to have a very, umm, arrogant attitude of "We know what you need, so don't even consider that you need controls."
Cons. The sound isn't maybe as well defined as on the Bose Wave Radio II, although the HD reception pushes the Polk ahead of the Bose in my book.
Pro. Nice feature set at a good price point. The HD radio and iPod dock (works fine with iPhone 3G) and AUX inputs are nice. There is no CD, but then, that is pretty much '80s tech. At price in the low $300 range, the price is attractive.
Cons. There are some clever features, but the overall build quality is no where near the Bose stuff, and feels like it should be at least a hundred bucks cheaper.
SUMMARY. There is a lot to like in this radio. The feature set is really slick. The problem is that much of the stuff feels like it could have been executed better. Like other reviewers have said, it seems like the thing snuck out the door to production before all the engineering work was done. The price is attractive, but at $300+, it isn't cheap. I would have considered paying $100 more to have all of the features work better (especially HD) and have the build quality of a Bose. I have had mine for about 6 months, and I wouldn't want to send it back, but I would like it to work better and have fewer aggravations. As always, Amazon service was excellent.』
(As a kitchen stereo) 『* Out of the box, with no firmware upgrade, seems to fully support iPod Touch 2G * I've always had problems with radio reception; this was no cure-all * Sound is not Bose, but considering the price I am satisfied』
(Sound reviews are definitely over-hyped) 『I'm searching for a new ipod alarm clock radio, and saw the great reviews for the Polk Isonic here on Amazon. The product looks pretty sweet too. I *almost* bought it immediately, because of the rave reviews and a deeply discounted price. But I decided to go to Best Buy to listen to the Isonic and compare to other stereos. I must say that I'm glad I didn't buy it. I was disappointed in the sound. It is quite good, but not as good as others in the $400-$500 price range. Specifically, the sound from the Chestnut Hill George was far superior- it has crisper, clearer highs, and tighter bass, while the Polk isonic had a little tinny-ness in the highs and muddier bass. Don't get me wrong, the Isonic does sound good, and its 4-speaker design gives good room-filling sound, but for $500 I expect better. If you're an audiophile, get something else (possibly the Chestnut Hill - it sounds a lot better). But if sound isn't your utmost concern, the Polk Isonic offers moderately good sound and really nice looking design.』
(Polk Audio I-Sonic) 『I received mine the other day, it's pretty much as advertised. Very good deep sound, I was just going to get a new Bose with the ipod dock. I'm glad I didn't, this is $200 cheaper and has HD Radio and the HD Radio is wonderful. Only 2 flaws I can see, AM radio is weak, but hey, (there is nothing but right wing nuts on AM anyway), and they should have included a battery backup.』 『The new I-Sonic® ES2 includes a second generation HD Radio tuner with full multicasting. With its advanced acoustical system, Digital Signal Processing, and new HD Radio tuner technology, the I-Sonic ES2 is the highest performing self-contained HD Radio product on the market. Sony
Usually ships in 24 hours Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Sony CMT-LX20i) 『Perfect size if you want a smaller unit. I wanted this for the bedroom, but sounds great all the way to the living room. I love it. I wanted it for my IPOD, but I love the cd and the radio as well. Nice remote control.』
(Smart choice...) 『Wanted to downsize from the HUGE system I used to have and was very pleased that this system is nice and compact... exactly what I needed. The sound isn't the best if you plan to use it throughout a huge space, but it's perfect for my apartment. Very pleased!!』
(Ipod doesn't work) 『I got my Sony stereo from ABT through Amazon. It looks nice, the sound is nice, BUT my IPOD doesn't work properly because when I put the IPOD on the stereo, it won't recognize any commands when I press it on the IPOD. So the only thing I can do is take the IPOD off the stereo then start a song on the IPOD and then put it on the stereo and it will play the song. But then it won't play the next song. And if I want to press a button on the IPOD again, I have to take it off the stereo again to press a button and put it back on the stereo to play the song. This happens even with the Apple IPOD universal dock adaptor that is compatible with my 15 GB Ipod. Now I have to deal with the hassle of returning this thing.』
(Happy overall) 『I've had this for almost 3 weeks now. I'm no audiophile by any means, but I think this has good clear sound and can get to a good volume - I use it in the kitchen, and I can hear NPR talk radio clearly enough over the noise of me cooking / washing dishes. When I plug in my iphone 3GS, the message comes up that the device isn't made to work with the iphone, and I should switch to airplane mode for best results; however I never do, and I don't notice any significant feedback/interference in the speakers. I'm not crazy about the styling / look of it... I don't dislike it, but I don't like it much either. The remote is very handy, and though it's not as intuitive as the ipod click wheel or a touch screen interface, it gets the job done. Overall I'm very happy with the performance vs. cost of this stereo.』
(Well worth the money) 『I was not certain of the value for money when I purchased the Sony CMT Hi Fi but from the reviews on Amazon I thought it was a safe purchase. I must say it more then met my expectations, the unit is compact but well designed and took up 1/3 less space than the unit it replaced (a "boombox" with two separate speakers) and weighed 2/3rds less. The sound quality is equal if not better and the iPod docking unit is seamless to use. I was impressed with the digital radio and the CD player is probably the least of the package but still works well. Overall I am very satisfied with the product.』 『Keep the party going with this stylish, easy-to-use micro hi-fi shelf system that's perfect for charging and playing your iPod and burned CDs. Delivering full-range sound from a small package, the attractive CMT-LX20i micro hi-fi shelf system lets you share your favorite music without a bulky audio system. Just plug your iPod into the integrated dock and you're ready to rock. There's also an included remote that offers full iPod menu controls. Covey
Usually ships in 24 hours Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Poor execution) 『This audio learning program is just a waste of time and money for listeners. Stephen R. Covey is only the co-star in the program by which Franklin Covey should make this clear to consumers upfront. The main presenter is disjointed and distracted, like he had too much coffee.....
』
(Priceless) 『The 4 Disciplines of Execution (Revised Edition): The Secret to Getting Things Done, On Time, With Excellence
Learning skills we have but need the small tidbits of tender care to complete. Thank you Mr. Covey.』
(Excellent) 『One of the best business CDs I have listened to. The four disciplines are presented in a very accessible way, with many examples. I found myself making many mental notes of actions to take on a personal level and with my team.』
(Weak on it's own) 『I attended this training session in person, and purchased the CD's from Amazon to share with team mates who were not able to go. While I believe the CD's are a good reinforcement and reminder for me.... alone, they lack meaning in many areas and would be weak training at best. This is mostly a recording of a live training session, without the benefit of the workbooks or group interaction.』
(Nothing New or Exciting About Execution Here) 『This audio learning program is just a waste of time and money on the part of the listeners. Nothing new or exciting about Execution here, except showing off jargons like EXQ (Execution Quotient), and using big words like the 4 Disciplines--- including:1)Focus on Wilding Important Goals, 2)Use of Scoreboard, 3)Translating Loofty Goals into Actions, and 4)Holding People Accountable for Results.
I think people in undergraduate Business Programs or MBA Programs already learned these common sensical staff.
Franklin Covey needs to catch up, innovate, and deliver practical stuff for practising managers!
Stephen R. Covey is only the co-star in the program by which Franklin Covey should make this clear to consumers upfront.
Quite disappointed with this purchase because it is very theoretical and the ideas are not easily executed in the Age of Trust Erosion between corporations and their downsized labour force these days.
Try Peter Drucker's Effective Executive, you will get far far more.』
『Executing strategic goals is the greatest challenge in business today. Aligning the organization’s work teams with your most important objectives is a never-ending battle. In addition, keeping teams engaged and focused on the top goals is critical. Imagine an organization where every team—from the senior leadership to the front line—is focused on the most important priorities and committed to achieving the Wildly Important Goals.
Stephen Covey introduces one of the best thinking of execution leadership experts, Chris McChesney who teaches important principles through relevant, current examples to illustrate the four imperatives:
1. Focus on the Wildly Important. Shift through urgent priorities and define what’s most important to the organization.
2. Act on the Lead Measures. Identify key actions that help goal accomplishment.
3. Keep A Compelling Scorecard. Track key measures of success.
4. Create a Cadence of Accountability. Build an individual planning-and-accounting system to get the most important work done.』

(Nice Modern Look) 『I bought this system for my 12 year old son's room. I bought it because I thought it looked cool&it did what I'd expect it to do. He loves it because he can hook his ipod or MP3 up to it too! He also uses the Alarm Clock feature.
It's audio is better than you'd expect from a GPX - certainly fine for my son or anyone who wants something to use outside or while working. Decent system for it's price.』
(Worst product ever) 『Despite the negative reviews here on amazon, I purchased this cd player. I really liked the compact design. When I got it, I pulled it out of the box and powered it up. I put in a cd and it started to play. I switched the track, then... no more playing. I powered down, changed cds, tried everything. This thing was dead. I returned it and will never buy this brand of electronics again. As I recall I am not the first one that this has happened to. Steer clear and pick a better brand. Why can't I put zero stars, or even negative stars? :(』
