(Zhu Zhu pet is fun) 『I got this for my niece. She loves it and so does her dog. It really is very cute and pretty durable since the dog often runs away with it. It looks like it is going to be this years "hot toy" for Christmas. If you can find one, I would recommend grabbing it up.』

(Cute, but get boaring after a day or two) 『I was lucky enough to find these at Walmart right before my 2 year olds birthday. I got two hamsters and the little hamster house and the wheel. They are cute and all three of my kids, ages 7 to 2, played with them non-stop for about two days after that they sat on the bedroom floor, totally forgotten. There is nothing really special about them. They just do the same thing and make the same sounds over and over. The wheel never really worked well. They would run into it and get stuck and after adjusting them they would run somewhat for a second before getting stuck again. These toys are fine for eight dollars but don't spend any more than that they are not worth it. Also, be warned, if you have a child like my two year old daughter, who likes to hug all her toys, this will get caught in her hair. This happened to my daughter, it was pretty easy to get out becasue I was next to her when it happened and turned it off quickly but it could have been bad. After that whenever I would ask her if she wanted to play with it she would say "No, he bite me!"』

The hamster is cute, and she still plays with that (on the hard wood floor - doesn't run well at all on carpet). However, I also bought her this funhouse along with the garage (worst piece) and the wheel. When you put it all together (which is not easy), the toy is huge. I don't really have the room for a big piece of plastic toy of this size, but I was willing to get it for her because it is all she wanted. Big mistake, you can't move it once you get it together or it falls to pieces. Sometimes the pieces just come apart. The garage never worked, and the wheel ramp never fit together correctly. This toy is such a waste of money. Holiday shoppers are getting scammed this year! Thank goodness I did not pay these ridiculous prices for this toy. I bought mine at Toys 'r us before I even knew it was going to be a big deal. To sum up - the hamsters are cute, but the rest is big, plastic junk that has now been under my daughters bed since the day after she got it (5 weeks ago) and has not seen daylight again.』

With both my kids B-days coming and X-mas I couldn't disappoint so I am glad (sort of) that I was able to purchase through Amazon . However I wish I was able to purchase at retail value instead of the 3x the amount I ended up paying ! Be realistic people do you really need that much profit? I only purchased 2 hamsters and that will be all . She always wants something she sees on tv, but this time I actually thought it would be worth looking into getting her. She had a hamster (not Zhu Zhu) toy that she just loved, but it only rolled around in it's ball, and this seemed like a big step up from that. The problem came when we went to find and buy it. No one had any! They were listed on several big toy carriers websites, but were always sold out. I finally found it, alot more expensive than the other websites, but alas, availible. Obviously raising the price since they are so popular. But, I only wish now I had bought more hamsters, and more of the sets. Because apparently they are the toy of 2009, and you can't find them anywhere!! This would be the perfect gift for Christmas, and even though they cost a bit more, the cost was equal to the enjoyment and totally worth paying. I even had a good time with it. All the different noises it makes depending on where it is in the "maze" is so neat. Sometimes it gets a little "stuck" so you have to move it a bit, but I think if you have more of the pieces it would work better. I just think the different play sets you can buy should've had the hamster included. Some of them are pretty expensive for what you get. But again, my daughter loves it. The wheel actually does not move freely very well but the hamster will go down the tunnel get on the wheel and run in place then back down the tunnel. At first I was very dissappointed that the wheel wasn't really spinning (it does move but spinning is a stretch) but my 4 year old didn't seem bothered by it. now I actually kind of prefer this one because it's one that actually keeps the hamster contained in the funhouse. The slide lets the hamster out onto the floor as does the car and garage which is fine if you have a very large area for the whole set but the hamster runs better in the plastic pieces. As for durability the slide and garage are constantly coming detached (the 2 year old tends to knock them around) but this one has stayed attached pretty good, maybe because the tunnel is shorter than others. If you're not familiar with these you should know the accessories are snap together pieces - the plastic isn't flimsy but the fact that they just 'snap' together means they also snap apart rather easily. So while the accessories are constantly coming apart or detached they aren't breaking (which is good) but my 4 year old can't really snap them back together on his own so it's more work for me.』

First off the ball isn't the sturdiest and with a bit of pressure to the right area you can pop off the lid, it screws right back on though. Also if the batteries are low it won't run too well so change them first.
they give you a stability plate with the hamster, but honestly I found that it moved better and flipped over less without it. It moves like you'd expect, bumbles around, pauses then runs some more, it's cute I have to admit, but the sounds are dampened by the ball. It kind of sounds like it's in a tin can. Every now and then it may flip over in the ball, though nudge it and it's quickly corrected.
If you already have the hamsters it's probably worth the extra ten dollars to get the ball. I wouldn't buy it at any marked up price but it is cute and functions as well as expected. Just keep it away from dogs. Mine has launched a war against this thing.』

(Excellent Toy!) 『We are huge fans of Leap Frog toys at our house. We bought this toy for our daughter's 1st b-day. She dances to the music and likes playing with the pieces. She just turned 1 on 9/28 so she is a little young yet when it comes to matching the animals and placing them in the barn. She can get 1 piece in but that is it. She still has a great time with it. We love the magnets on it, they seem to be strong enough so it doesn't slide down the fridge. I am able to clean up the kitchen while she plays, which is a blessing in it's self. The songs are cute and we are not worried about her choking on any of the pieces since they are not too small. Also, the toy still gives positive feedback to the kids even if the animals are not matched correctly. Instead of saying, "oops try again", like some other toys. Our 8 yr. old daughter secretly enjoys playing with it as well. I think she just likes mismatching the animals to hear what it will be called. (pig cow, sheep duck, etc.)

My 3 year old scribbles, presses the buttons, and will sometimes follow the directions. It will be a great toy for her as she gets a little older. I was surprised how much my 5 year old likes it....took to it immediately, is practicing his letters, sounds, etc. I would definately recommend for an older 3 year old to maybe a 5 or 6 year old.』

She's a smart cookie, but due to her age, she's not really able to really follow tracing letters. I can see this being increasingly fun and interesting to her later this year. There are lots of different play features so fortunately not all of it is beyond her. She's able to turn it on and off by herself which is great for battery life, and is able to put the stylus back in it's place too. It's lightweight but not flimsy and a perfect size for preschoolers to carry around. The volume level is not obnoxious if it's on the lower setting - it doesn't drive the adults crazy. Recommended.』
