Real Electronic Parts Electronic Snap Circuits includes real circuit components just like the circuit boards inside radios, televisions, computers, and other electronic devices. This set makes it easy for anyone to create simple electronic circuits and devices. To operate, you simply snap the electronic elements onto a plastic grid, and then connect them together with wire pieces that snap easily into place.
The SC-300 lets you build electronic devices such as a whistle chip, speaker, alarm circuit, LED, lamp socket, fan motor, and a speaker. Additional pieces can be purchased separately, or in different models, and they can all be used together to create larger and more elaborate projects.
Making Electronics Fun and Easy The included instruction manual offers 305 projects ranging from a simple light switch to a noise-activated burglar alarm. We found the color-coded instruction manual clear and easy to understand, and we had no problems creating any of the projects we tried. The projects are organized by levels of difficulty, and each project teaches an objective such as "To show how electricity can only pass in one direction through an LED."
We definitely experienced a sense of satisfaction as we completed each project, and we definitely learned about electronics concepts. The manufacturer recommends the set for ages 8-108; younger engineers should be able to easily follow the diagrams for each project, but will probably require their parents to help explain how everything works. So a word of warning to parents: Brush up on your high school physics! Although the instruction offers some good information, we found that we still needed to brush up on the physics we learned years ago so we could understand concepts such as the difference between a circuit in parallel and in series.
Unique Learning Experience Creating a flying UFO from "scratch" with rudimentary electronic pieces was highly satisfying to us, and we think Electronic Snap Circuits may well help young students gain and foster an appreciation for, and interest in, how electronics work and are built.

(Great Product - this is my second one) 『I bought this 3 or 4 years ago for my son. Sent away for the caterpillars and had two delighted kids watching the whole process happen. Each summer this has also been our lightening bug container each night in June and July. We've caught local caterpillars and had varying degrees of success having them turn to butterflies or moths.
My son's preschool and kindergarten class have also borrowed it for a month at a time when they were doing butterfly projects.
So it wore out. Hence we are happily buying another one and will start over with sending away for caterpillars this spring and I'm sure it will house many more creepy crawlies to come.
It is easy to store (folds down and velcro holds together). The zipper is easy to use (both my son and daughter could manage it at 3 1/2. It is way more humane than the plastic bug holders with a magnifying glass because air circulates and temperature is less likely to get hot.

Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Great Science Fair Kit) 『This kit was great. It arrived on time and intact. The Agar bottles were even came in a Ziploc bag in case they leaked (which they did not). It had very clear instructions and great ideas for presenting your experiment in a science fair exhibit. Preparing the plates was a breeze. When you get the agar it is about the consistency of Jell-O. Heating it up turns it into a liquid so you can pour it into the dishes. I heated them up in a hot water bath as opposed to a microwave and it the agar came out perfect. Flollow the very detailed directions and you will be fine. The kids had fun collecting the samples using the included sterile swabs. Don't swab too hard on the agar though. As long as the swab is contacting the agar you are transferring the sample. If you do it too hard you will gouge the agar and it could come out (that happened with one of our plates). The only other things you need is distlled water which is available in any grocery store and bleach to kill the bacteria in the plates when you are done with the experiment.
A day after swabbing the plates bacteria was growing. You are supposed to keep the plates in a plastic bag to keep the agar from drying out. And man.... when you open those bags, to let them breathe for a few minutes each day, the stink that comes out is nauseating. It is great. The bacteria/mold is growing like crazy.
This is for a fifth grade science fair and my son, who is in second grade, wants to do this when he is old enough for the science fair. I 100% reccomend this product and the seller, Science Stuff, and I will buy it again.』
(Excellent product/met my expectations) 『The set came with the petri dishes and agar solution. Also included were the instructions which were very easy to follow and also sent some great examples about how to use the product. We're testing animal germs, which was the exact same example they used. My mistake though was trying to pour the agar into the dish before it was completely melted. After putting it in the microwave, the bottle is very hot, but still you have to shake it until the agar is completely liquid or it will come out lumpy. Great product, though. Very good examples for elementary science fair projects.』
(Great kit, but tough to melt agar) 『We got this kit for a 5th grade science project (that is brewing as we speak!). The hardest part is melting the agar to pour into the dishes (would have had 5 stars if melting was easier). The directions make it sound simple, but it was quite frustrating. A little patience goes a long way here so set your expectations accordingly. My son did one bottle on stovetop with a vegetable steamer, and I was in charge of (attempting) to melt one in the microwave. Set the micro to 1 minute at power 5 and the bottle overflowed quickly. We had to set our micro at a power setting of 2 and even that seemed hot. It is difficult to "swish" the bottle using either method. When you are tempted to shake it, you get *lots* of bubbles as described in other review. Our bubbles didn't really settle. After an hour or so, we finally got the agar to a state that it could be poured, although we still had little clumps and bubbles. We decided that was OK and proceeded. We will soon find out if it is best to wash your kitchen sponges in the dishwasher, nuke them in the micro, or boil them in water.
The kit itself is fabulous, and the printed material that comes with it is also terrific. Kudos to the Science Stuff folks. I would order this again in a flash despite the agar issues.
Definitely use the zip top bags to incubate your dishes. After 2 days, ours already stink when we open them to breathe.』

Our daughter used hot water as the method for liquifying the agar. It took forever to accomplish. It took well over 45 minutes, trying varying water temperatures, to liquify and then it wasn't totally in the state it should have been. This is a difficult material to deal with. Otherwise, the purchase process was a breeze.』

The loupe works well. The quality of the optical glass is not the greatest, but it's not bad quality, either. I'm just not sure I would consider it "professional" grade, for someone working with high-end jewelery or what have you. For what I use it for (inspecting small electronics), it's just fine.

(Great specimens!!) 『I was pleasantly surprised with the specimen especially after reading some of the reviews. The specimen are made well, were not dusty, boxed well and labeled nicely. I found that some people did not care for some of the slides. I thought all of them were incredible!! All the hair slides do look different, not all the same as someone stated in their review. If you have a duo-scope microscope (I have a My First Lab Duo-Scope - Love it!) that allows you to view the slides with light from above and light from below you will see major differences in detail. If you look at the slides with the light from below, some look a bit boring. But, if you use the light from above the slides the detail is amazing. My husband and I checked out all the slides before the kids and we were amazed! Even the hair samples looked great. We especially loved the ant slide, what detail!!! I think that the differences in what other reviewers saw have to do with the microscope being used.
