I really love to watch my anime with sub-titles since dubbing is usually horrible. In the Price of Tennis, Set 2, the dubbing is horrible! More horrible than normal. Of course, this set does allow you to watch with the original japanese voices and subtitles, which I recommend. In the english version, they mispronounce just about everything including some of the names and schools. It is some of the worst dubbing I have ever heard. However, I will go as far to say that this set is better than the first set. In the second set I'm not seeing any missing episodes or scenes that were prevelant in the first set.
The Prince of Tennis is a series that I really love and think that it's worth a watch. It's slightly different than the managa, but both are truly worth a watch. With the second set getting better, I'm going to say that this is worth a buy. The first set was bad, but this set is worth a watch. Plus you get to see Echizen play in his first tournament, which is always fun.』
("Mada mada dane") 『The phrase in the title captures the essence of this series extremely well, especially since it can be interpreted in different ways. If you have watched the anime in Japanese with English subtitles, then you have heard Ryoma Echizen utter this phrase many times, and you will continue to see this in future volumes. The translation used in the anime, which is slightly different from the one in the manga, is "You still have a ways to go". Since Ryoma usually says this when playing a match, this could be interpreted as a sign of believing himself superior to his opponents, which in part is true. However, once one looks beyond Ryoma's superficial cockiness, we discover a character that is much more complex than that, and as the series progresses we get to discover more layers underneath. I have the firm belief that Ryoma is also referring to himself when using "Mada mada dane", encompassing his inability to beat his father and the steps he still needs to take in order to become really strong.
As you can see, this series, which in volume 1 started out OK, but fell a little short of the mark, has improved considerably. In the current volume, there is already a better character development as we get to know more about the Seigaku regulars. The matches against Fudomine for the district finals are exciting and of an appropriate length. The fact that there are side stories besides the actual tennis competition is a definite plus, as is the reminiscing by some characters, like Ryoma's father. This once again, provides us with more information about the environment in which Ryoma grew up and the way in which his father behaved when he was Ryoma's age. Some people may be annoyed by some episodes that go off on a tangent, such as Kaoru's Misfortune (episode 22), but I did enjoy the change of pace and the added humor.
At this point, this series has me a little hooked, since I want to know what will happen in the competitions to come and I have started to appreciate many of the characters involved in the story. Some of the over the top unrealistic tennis still bothers me a little bit, but I think that most people will get used to it pretty quickly. The nice blend of humor and light romance is also a definite plus for the series. As if this was not enough to want to watch the next volume, the last two episodes in this set are exciting and surprising, and I am really looking forward to see what happens next with Ryoma and his friends.』 『Ryoma Echizen and the rest of the Seigaku players enter the district tennis tournament as the school to beat. The show starts off very well showing how down hill some kids in school have gone, and how Onizoka can not only relate but actually get respect from what other teachers classify as "trash".
Onizoka is also a bit of pervert, who gets into teaching to meet and have power over high school girls. But as it goes on he develops a sense of morales, and learns that doing that may not be a bright move considering his past gang affiliation.
I'm still watching it sadly, but have put these box sets on my wish list, and plan seriously on adding them to my collection.』

The first five disc of the series in fact, just as if you're buying them separatly but definitly more cheaper. Now on to the review, the series is about a former biker leader, Onizuka, who wants to be not only a teacher but the best teacher japan has ever seen. Of course their are obstacles such as other teachers, pta, and of course students that want to get rid of Onizuka because of his juvenile behavior, and the students have student-teacher complexes. The animation is quite old school, meaning it has like Lupin animation; nothing like the action animes out. The series is a comedy but does have serious parts, and most episodes have a deep lesson that has been taught. A definite recommendation!』 『A classic series among anime and manga entusiasts!

However, I do agree that the fact that only the first 60 episodes are being released does take away from the excitement of buying the collections. Unfortunately, I have bought both these collections and I just found the entire series including the entire hades and death of hades sagas for the same price. Its in spanish but I don't mind, because I actually prefer anime in spanish, the voice acting in spanish is way better than english. I have a friend that will buy the two collections I have so it's a win win for me.
So, I you want the entire series, don't buy this collection. Try to find and import, if you don't mind reading subtitles or if you speak spanish or japanese. If you don't care about getting the entire series then go ahead and buy this collection, you will enjoy watching an epic anime.』
(Do you feel the power of the cosmos!?) 『Well I had missed the first printing of the Saint Seiya collection sets and I have to say it is nice to have a reissue to be able to get a series quickly and easily instead of having to look all around for it or going through imports. As for the series itself it is an awesomely wonderful piece of '80's anime. The series is presented uncut so all the blood and fighting is kept intact. The series tells the tale of warriors or "Saints" chosen to contest for the golden armor. (The plot changes as the story goes on) Each saint is given an armor pertaining to a constellation. Along with individual armor each saint battles with a set of signature moves pertaining to their constellation. A great set for anyone who likes '80's or '90's anime and I hope there is more to come.』

Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (the final half of a great series) 『This dvd is the final half to the megaman series which once again boasts incredible action with catchy music and comedy. This continues the tale of Dr. Wily attempts to conquer the earth using his evil robots. However each and everytime he is thwarted by Megaman.
I already talked about the series in the first dvd release so now I am going to tell you about the one stand out episode which in my opinion is the best of the series.
The episode is called Mega X and what it's about is that Wily is attempting to steal this new energy source to power up his super cannon. After a failed attempt two reploids from the future arrive to steal some for their master Sigma. When Megaman attempts to stop the two he is easily defeated. Then through a rip in space and Time comes Megaman X who drives them away. Eventually the two Megaman's team up to stop Wily and the reploids.
What made this episode so great was that it not only was a crossover with the other megaman series but also hinted at the possability of a spinoff for Megaman X. Sadly that never happened (the X story is generally a lot darker, more grown up than Megaman) but still this is a great episode.
Overall a great buy short of any special features. Still recommended though.』
(The second season rocks on DVD) 『I've enjoyed the MegaMan cartoon since I got the first 2 episodes on home video back in '96. Now I finally have the entire series on DVD. This 3-disc set encompasses the entire second season (eps 14-26) and the only episode of season 3 (27, natch). ADV did a great job releasing the final 14 episodes, and cheap, at that! Extras include ADV previews.』
(I love Mega Man) 『I'm not an Otaku. I liked the Robot designs though. I think the show had some good points, the only reason why I bought these DVDs in the first place. The voice acting and animation are of decent quality. Too bad the storyline is rather weak in some episodes and terrible in others. I watch the bad episodes for laughs. I've seen some decent episodes considering the many flaws this series has. It is worth a try considering the fact the Mega Man cartoon won't get a makeover.』

Until I saw the origional uncut "Collection 1" I thought it was alright. But when I saw 2 and 3 I thought it was horribly wasted. The storyline is a tad predictable to me and awful even though it's a terrible remake. I mean I don't like most superhero stuff with an almost destroyed Earth and a near extinction to mankind stories. The future world of this anime is bad, for instance the Orbital Ring around Earth is too far fetched and the way how the spaceship "Blue Earth" takes off by ramp is primitive. I don't like the conclusion about D-Boy's family all dead including the mind-controlled ones and his youngest sister of all. I mean the Radam turning innocent minds into evil tekkaman is far worse. If you want a better scifi storylines I prefer video games like "Halo", "Half-Life", "Timesplitters", and others. I also prefer "Neon Genesis Evangelion" with the old good ending. But do not reccomend all 3 of the collections of this nightmare of an anime.』
(Tekkaman Blade) 『I have watched all of the early anime from Gundam 0083 to Captain Taylor and Tekkaman Blade (uncut) by far is one of the best older anime.
I highly recommend it to all anime fans. The story line flows well and the fight scenes are excellent.』
(Concluding volume to one of the all-time great anime series.) 『Here it is, the final volume of Tekkaman Blade, one of the greatest tragic anime series ever. Uncut, it provides the conclusion that fans outside of Japan have been waiting for for ages. This volume does not disappoint; after the fairly tepid second half of Volume 2, which is episodic and borders on having novelty episodes, we finally get a great concluding story arc that lives up to the promise suggest in the first half of the series. Some of the best episodes in the series are here, including Brothers of Light and Dark and the three episode finale, which ties up all the loose ends in a dramatic, action-packed ending that few series I've seen can match. The final battle between Blade and Evil is done absolutely perfectly, and allows you to truly feel for both characters. An additional plus here is the inclusion of the remaining two OAV shorts that have been near impossible to come by; Twin Blood/Burning Clock and Missing Link. Although these shorts themselves (in my opinion) are not great and really neither fit well into the continuity of the series nor continue it very well, they are nice pieces to have. Slightly weird that both of these are on the final volume, given the fact that there are three volumes and three OAVs, but one can't really complain about that. As with the other two volumes, the menu layout is user-friendly and the package design is fantastic (though it's worth asking why this is the only one to use a black background rather than white... but that's splitting hairs). If you saw Teknoman when it aired on UPN and liked it, or you saw the international version, you owe it to yourself to pick this up to see the true conclusion to this great series. Highest recommendation.』

(A long awaited treasure) 『With the original Space Knight Tekkaman being done by Ippei Kuri, a very Gatchman style... it was very nice to see the retelling of this with updated armor concepts and while somewhat melodramatic at time, a very good story.
The anime is rather dated as typically there was more than one production studio working on a show, so every 3rd or 4th episode would have the same quality.
I loved the show when it originally aired and am glad to see that it's getting brought out for a new audience. Hopefully those who cut their teeth on Cowboy Beebop&newer titles can appreciate something a little older.

Having played the first 3 games, I can say that you need not play the games to understand the story. In fact, the anime fills in some interesting details about the planet that weren't covered in the games. The mouse-like characters seem quite annoying at first, but in time, they become less irritating. Overall, the main storyline is very interesting, and I found myself wanting to see it through to the end. The side stories are also unique and very well written. Unexpected surprises await up until the very end! If you are looking for something "different" than your typical anime, this is it!』
(a must have for wildarm fans) 『I brought this anime for my husband as a present, we have played every wild arms game released and to this day are big fans of them. As an anime on its own it would be good, but as an amine based on a game I thought it worked really well, the only thing I would have changed is I would have called the mouse Hanpan after the game. Story wise, yes it is fairly simplistic, but nice to curl up to after a long tiring day, you don't really need to think about what you're seeing you can just sit back and enjoy. Each episode is a small story in its own right, but still follows the main story line (almost like each episode is a side quest along the way) and as always some a better than others. It will not be to everyone's taste, but personally, both me and by husband enjoyed it. 』
(Cowboy Bebop Light) 『I have a great love for Cowboy Bebop, so if you hated that series, then you probably won't value what I have to say. That caveat aside, I really enjoyed the Wild Arms series. I know, I know. It was based on a video game. My answer. Big deal. It was cheap. So I gave it a try, and boy was I surprised. I found my self staying up late nights going episode to episode, compelled to find out what the characters were up to. The producers had a whole world to build on from the games, and they used it as a setting to place a crew not unlike the one from Bebop. A big nuturing guy, a wise-cracking bad-boy, a seductive not-so-honest gal, and her lovable girl side-kick. They even had cute animals as characters.It was great. Good music, fun characters, compelling story, nice art, sweet action, even a bit of romance. What else do you want?』
