-Terra (piano version)(INCLUDED IN THE CD) --- Final Fantasy VI -To Zanarkand --- Final Fantasy X -Greensleeves --- Xenosaga Episode I, OST
If you listen to them you will end up taking piano lessons like me...give them a try.』
(Not the perfect Final Fantasy VI arranged soundtrack, but a worthy one.) 『Final Fantasy VI Grand Finale holds the distinctions of being based on the greatest video game soundtrack ever and of being my first arranged game soundtrack. So this disc has high expectations to live up to. About half of its tracks I am totally satisfied with the way they were done. A few follow their original game versions rather closely and sound terrific performed by real instruments. In others the arrangements vary slightly from the originals, but the changes follow the spirit of the OSV closely. I'm especially happy with the excellent version of the game's opening theme.
However, there's a slightly different story to other tracks on the CD. In some arrangements there are small changes that hurt an entire piece. For example, an otherwise perfect rendition of Relm's theme is ruined for me by blaring bagpipes. Others have changes that make them considerably different from the original versions. One example would be "Gau", which although a nice arrangement in its own right, doesn't posess the eye-watering quality of the original.
Most Final Fantasy fans will probably feel that this CD doesn't live up to the original soundtrack it is based on. Of course, many Final Fantasy fans - myself included - feel that the original soundtrack is one of the greatest musical achievements ever. A hard label to live up to. I must credit the arrangers for having a cinematic vision when they went about embellishing these compositions. I remember when I first got the CD, listening intently and envisioning the characters moving through my own little Final Fantasy movie as the music progressed. Fond memories, to be sure. So while this CD may not be the dream Final Fantasy VI arranged collection, it is nonetheless an interesting and entertaining one which fans should be hesitant to miss. 』
(Midi in the flesh.) 『The piano collections of Nobuo Uematsu's series of Final Fantasy scores have proven to be just what the doctor ordered, considering that he was creating such spectacular music for such a "lowly" medium as the 'video game' before there was even a moderate respect for the art. Better yet, there was a far less than moderate respect for 'scores' to video games at the time. Considering the severely limited sound capabilities of the Super Nintendo, Uematsu's masterful compositions were not given their proper representation with what the current technology had to offer. But, even with such restrictions, Uematsu's music was no less than engaging. It makes perfect sense that his music should finally be played acoustically to help the other half realize the significance of his work, to spell it out for them. And, this collection is no exception. Final Fantasy VI still stands out as the greatest of the series, and Uematsu's score is perhaps his most profound. With all of these collections, one who has heard the original scores cannot help but think that some of the pieces have been belatedly embellished to the point that they digress from their original forms, and therefore the original score, but the ones that remain faithful are well worth the time and/or purchase. "The Mystic Forest" and "Coin Song" are what appeal to me the most. The both of these titles are more beautiful and haunting to me as I'd realized they had the potential to be. Just gorgeous. "Celes", "Mystery Train", and "Waltz de Chocobo" are also well worth mentioning. If you are already familiar with this or any of Uematsu's other Final Fantasy scores (as I am), you are already prejudiced towards this release, and so forth. If you are new to his music, I can comfortably recommend that you know of this man. Who knows? You may have have been missing something.』
(Good, but not Uematsu's best) 『Spinach Rag is probably one of the very best piano peices Uematsu has written. That song alone is worth the purchase of this CD.
The problem though is that there are a number of other songs on this CD that really aren't very good at all, like Stragus&Johnny C Bad. Cefca (or Kefka as was the translation in America) OST (original Sound Track) was probably my favorite song of the Final Fantasy series, but this piano version, like the Orchestral Version on Grand Finale was just a letdown and did no justice to how great the song really could be.
On the other hand, Gau, Spinach Rag, and Kids Run Through the City Corner, more than make up for the CD's shortcomings, and on the whole the album is pretty good. Coin Song is nice, if simple and slow. Same goes for Tina. Celes is a pretty darned good song, but if you really want a good version of this song the piano version is not the one to focus on. Listen to the 23 minute Dream Oath Opera, and focus on Aria Di Mezzo Caratere (or however that's spelled) song within that Opera. There is a slightly remixed version of that song on the Grand Finale CD that I would highly recommend over this version of the song.
All in all, if you love the work of Uematsu, like listening to simple, but pretty piano songs, or are a fan of Final Fantasy this is a CD that is actually worth the money to buy. But perhaps you should pick up Grand Finale, Celtic Moon, FITHOS LUSEC WICOS VINOSEC, Final Fantasy 7's or 9's piano soundtracks, or Uematsu's Symphonic Suite first, as all are much more impressive works than this selection.』
(WOW is all!) 『Like I said WOW this ff piano collection is probably my favorite of all time and the game too! If you've played the game you will be astonished at the closeness the piano pieces have to the original sound from the snes. Every piece in the album is excellent! This one is defintely a keeper!』 『Japan exclusive video game soundtrack. Universal. 2004.』

Usually ships in 24 hours Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Wake me when it's over...) 『Naida Cole. Leif Ove Andsnes. Yundi Li. Lang Lang. My neighbor's 17-year-old kid. Classical piano is getting more faceless than ever. Where are the big names, the people who play five bars and you say, "Why, that's....!" I can tell Arrau or Horowitz or Cziffra or Gilels in fifteen seconds. With the present pianist, I'm lucky if I'm still awake after fifteen seconds.
I don't get all the fuss about Andsnes. I really think most of today's classical "stars" are PR-driven creations. This one is, at any rate. He plays almost all the works in these two discs the same, with zero color, zero phrasing, zero individuality. The piano sounds pretty much the same, whether the work be Haydn or Shostakovich. (Listen to Glenn Gould playing works by Byrd, Gibbons and Sweelinck and hear how he manages to suggest the sonority of a harpsichord on a piano. Amazing!) Andsnes avoids contrasts, he avoids abrupt changes in tempo, he avoids inserting his personality into the works, he avoids finding personality--charm, irony, detachment, amusement, even just simple joy--in the works. Admittedly, some of the compositions here are so obscure I cannot really comment on them, because I've never heard them before, am unfamiliar with the composers and don't have comparisons for listening. But for the works that I have heard, you can get a more interesting Grieg Concerto by Zimerman/Karajan (But who'd want to? It's a pretty vapid piece.), a far better Haydn Concerto by Richter if you can find it (it's a shame this witty work--and believe me, in better hands it is witty and it's not amateurishly *rushed*--isn't better-known), a more charming Haydn B minor sonata by Ax--by AX, for crying out loud!, and with him you get the whole thing and not just the second and third movements--and a better Janacek sonata by Firkusny. A better Grieg Op. 43 No.1 can be found by Gilels. A better Brahms Intermezzo, the disc's biggest joke, can be found anywhere--try behind the sofa. The Rachmaninoff is one of the better moments--here, recordings by Demidenko, Horowitz and Rachmaninoff himself didn't exactly blow me away in comparison. (If I have others I can't find them right now.) The Shostakovich Trumpet thingie is surpassed by Jansons and the Berlin Philharmonic, for just one. Some of the smaller works I don't know, but if they have their Norwegian charm, Andsnes doesn't bring it out here. Listen to this disc, and you'll go away with the very popular myth that classical music is this ultra-polished, tidy stuff that's good to have on in your car for your morning commute when you can't get NPR. But you won't have the sound of a thinking pianist, or one who seems to understand the music he's playing.』
(Discover a Gem) 『The Wedding Day At Troldhaugen, Op.65 No.6 - Leif Ove Andsnes' playing is magical! This CD is an exceptional value! I have purchased this CD as a gift and have received positive reviews from the recipients as well!』

Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Does This Have A Fat PS2 In It???) 『somebody please tell me if this has a fat ps2 in cause i'm really confused!!???!! 』
(Final Fantasy XI online) 『MMO wise, this game is as good as any MMO... As for the overall game, I'm pleased with what I've purchased.Very fun, time consuming an a stress releaser!! Lots of things to do an not enough time to do it all!!』
(Best MMO you'll ever find on PS2) 『FFXI on PS2. It's the same FFXI you'll find on the PC or the 360. This is the original. It's the only true MMO on PS2 (Phantasy Star doesn't count, you can play it offline.), and you play on the same servers as PC and 360 players, AND you play with people worldwide. There's an auto-translator function that allows you to communicate with players who speak different languages, and while it's far from perfect it's solid enough to game with. Unfortunately this product is the only one with the HDD unit you need to play FFXI on PS2, but only comes with the Rise of the Zilart expansion. I would highly recommend buying this in tandem with Final Fantasy XI: The Vana'diel Collection 2008 and the PlayStation 2X Network Adaptor if you don't already have it. The latter is the other piece of hardware required to play FFXI on PS2, while the former will hook you up with the three expansions that came out later on (Final Fantasy XI Chains of Promathia Expansion Pack, Final Fantasy XI Treasures Ahi Urhgan Expansion Pack, and Final Fantasy XI: Wings of the Goddess Expansion Pack) for a much better price.
All in all this game is a better buy than anything else on PS2 for the RPG fan- You get more gaming hours for your buck than anything else out there.』 『Squaresoft's legendary RPG series embarks on a new adventure where players from around the world join forces in a persistent online quest.』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (how final fantasy was meant to be) 『Originally this game was called 'Saga 2' in japan and was not an installment of final fantasy until this US title. Simply put, it rocks. The leveling system is totally transparent but natural, if you fight with a strength weapon, your strength may go up, the chance increases if you make a kill. You can use MAGI of different types to give a bonus to your stats.
The 'replayability' is off the charts with the ability to have any combination of four: human, mutant, robot, or monster, with duplicates allowed. The different characters offer a broad range of combat and growth style:, robots for example excel at using guns and cannons, their stats are not increased through leveling but by upgrading and swapping out different weapons and armors, monsters only level by changing forms from eating other monsters meats.
For a challenge play as two humans and two mutants (one male and one female of each) because their form of leveling is all from battling, don't let me make you think they are weak however as there are no limits to the strength of the human/mutant character as the robot is limited by the items in the game and the monster is limited by the available monster forms, only the human and mutant can continue to advanced even passed the display limit of 999. For a quick path to victory try one mutant and three robots, they will have unmatched firepower.』
(Straight across the line) 『This game was not a Final Fantasy but much like today a bunch of wanna be Final Fantasies are released why to sell a game that might not have sold otherwise. It doesn't really matter if this is Saga or Secret of Mana (Final Fantasy Adventure), the fact is that it's still a square title. Plus if you were looking for an RPG when this game was out Final Fantasy and Zelda were all you had for gameboy. This game kept my interest it wasn't until gameboy color tho that portable rpgs existed in the mainstream so given time and place a good game.』
(an average game in every aspect) 『This game is average and really no more than that just average. I actually beat this game back in the day so I'll give it that much credit and the end is cool but still just an average game. Oh yeah and nice music way to go Enix even on the gameboy busting the tunes.』
(Same great play and the graphics are just a tad better.) 『I liked playing this game as much as the previous legend game. I remember that with each game I was pleasantly surprised that the graphic was getting subtlety better. I really like role-playing games so graphics is not everything to me as long as I do not have to make something up myself to continue the play. Hum, was that water I crossed? No, I do not want to do that; and you don't in this game. Seeing the beginnings of a series you really like can be a cherished experience and in turn a wonderful memory. Therefore, if you do not mind simple graphics, and like role-playing games you will like this game.』
(Unless your an extreme fan of FF) 『I got this game a long time ago after I bought number 3. Not to knock anyone who likes it but this is by far the 2nd worst game I have ever played. The game so insanely hard that it wasn't fun anymore. I used game shark for max stats and unlimited of the best weapons, and I still found myself dying over and over. But the story is pretty good. You have to travel through a bunch of different worlds looking for the main characters dad. You get to collect different magi, magic stones. That help you get around to different worlds. In every world their is a beanstalk thing that goes up and they all me in this big area going to the next. Progressing through the game is only hard b/c the enemies are hard, but going in the right direction is great b/c people in towns will always tell you. But unless you are a fan, don't buy this.』
