『I bought this to replace the power supply that came with my Asus 1000H. The price was terrific compared to other sites. I saved 10 to 20 dollars over other companies I searched.

Given the cost, and that it works just fine I have no complaints. The unit is the same size and weight as the one that came with the netbook.

There was a slight difference. When you insert the barrel of the plug into your laptop, it does not go fully in. But this is because the barrel is a quarter inch longer than the one supplied by Asus. Given the money I saved and that this does not effect the operation of the power supply, this is not a problem. But just don't be surprised like I was the first time I plugged it in. I have been using it for over 3 months now, and there are no consequences of the added barrel length.』

『If I'd had the chance to try it, I wouldn't buy it. Leather is too stiff. Not a good fit. Elastic straps are out of place. The opening for the SD card slot is off position.』

(Could be improved but still ok for the money.)
『Right out of the box I really liked this case. But after using it for awhile I have to say some improvements could and should be made.

The padding is nice and adequate. It's nice that the top attaches to the monitor and holds the whole unit securely. After buying the Tuff-Luv case thinking I was stepping up I found this to be the better case, but what would really be nice is a case that has the best of both companies.

So the bad:
1. The place to hold MMC cards is inside the top cover, so you have to remove the case to get to them and this could very easily cause unnecessary scratches.
2. The straps connecting top and bottom don't actually fit and doesn't protect the hinge at all. (The case still works, but the look is tacky.)
3. The magnetic catch is on the top lid so it hangs down over the webcam and there is no way to keep it back on the case.

So I don't use the card holders and I'm trying to live with the less than perfect design.
Still, between the three covers I bought for my Asus 901, I like this one best so far and for the money. (But I haven't stop searching for the one that is right all around.)』

『I had an old CRT and was very apprehensive about giving it up. I originally wanted an IPS monitor. I was looking to do some photo, video and graphics work as part of my hobby. I almost went for the new Dell but heard ALOT of negative reports. I researched for over three months. If you get scared by all the bad reviews on all the boards for these types of things, just remember that folks usually just post when they have a complaint. There are usually a whole lot more happy people. But I sort of went into paralysis by analysis for a time. I finally bit the bullet and decided on this ASUS. I do not regret it. Yes it is a TN board, but what a board.

What I like:
The 1920 X 1200 resolusion is awesome. Windows 7 looks great and there is a whole lot of real estate to play with.

Played some DVDs on it and they looked perfect.

Viewing angle is OK. Not perfect but unless you do jumping jacks while you work on the computer you will not notice any great changes in quality.

No stuck or dead pixels at all.

Lots of cords came with it. They were a little short but good on them for including them at all.

Good variety of connections types (HDMI, DVI, VGA, composite). I actually have my old computer hooked up on VGA and my new one on HDMI and I just push the button to switch between them as needed. Yes, the actual connections are a little hard to get at, but who switches them very often anyway. Once set up you are fine.

The tilt on it is OK. Wish it was a little better but not a big deal.

Have not tried the web cam yet.

Don't know about the speakers, I hooked up a surround system.

If you are stuck and don't know what to buy, or you did not want to spend $600-1000 on an IPS, you would be very happy with this monitor. Sorry I waited so long.

I called ASUS Tech Support and Tech stated to me that the Web Cam and its Software were NOT compatible with the Windows 7 Operating System and that there were no plans in updating the Drivers so that the Web Cam would operate. I'm "VERY DISSAPPOINTED" in ASUS for having such an attitude.』

『I just received this item yesterday and I'm blown away at how happy I am with this product. I came from a Dell monitor (which was a bit older but still a great LCD) and the difference in resolution, color, and clarity is astounding.

The only two small quirks I have is: 1) the height is not adjustable (but will tilt) and 2) the stand isn't very sturdy. When I bump my desk the monitor bounces a bit more than I'd like. These two are not deal breakers and as I said, I'm very happy with everything else.

This is a great budget 26 inch monitor.

One other note, I had to play with the settings and color, as someone else said there is a blue tint over everything but that's easily fixed if you play with the settings.

『I bought this laptop to replace an HP laptop I previously had. After owning a few laptops, I have learned what I like and what I don't like. This laptop is absolutely perfect. Almost never need to charge the battery. It lasts so so long. Perfect for MS office work and web browsing. I haven't tried it get, but it would probably hold up well to Mathematica and Matlab work as well. The mouse pad can be a bit touchy. However, like every laptop mouse you get used to it and learn the tricks to make it work the way you want. The screen is not to small, but not to large. Overall, I think it is perfect. The camera is great for skype or video conferencing, haven't used it for anything else. If your going to be rough with your laptop, this one might not be the one for you. I noticed, while not unsound or not sturdy, it does, because of its size, make you think you might break it. I am not rough with laptops, so I haven't seen a problem, but I could foresee if someone throws the laptop around or bumps it a few too many times it might effect it.

『This is what I wanted in a laptop:

- something light enough to use around my apt and for travel
- enough power for web browsing, watching youtube and avi's, and word processing

In essence, it sounded like I needed a "netbook" - or so I thought. After some experience using a netbook, the tiny screen, the mediocre battery life, and lack of "umph" to do basic tasks in Windows eventually pushed me away. They just wouldn't cut it. Then I came across Asus's UL line of laptops while doing some online research. From reading the many reviews across the web, I gathered that this laptop had all the aspects of a netbook minus the shortcomings. Even though I've used this laptop for only two days now, I am happy to report that this laptop has got it all. Here are some highlights:

- a screen with enough real estate so you don't have to scroll down to see an entire facebook picture.
- ridiculous battery life
- a great keyboard with a nice layout and no noticeable flex
- snappy Core 2 Duo processor paired with Windows 7 makes for a speedy laptop experience
- lighter than my wife's macbook

And to address some concerns raised in other reviews:

- not only is the trackpad not as bad as some people make it seem, but I actually find it quite good. As I mentioned earlier, my wife has a macbook so I think I have a good baseline for comparison. With a little tweak of the sensitivity settings, I couldn't be happier. It's still no macbook trackpad but it's pretty darn good. Sure you'll wander off the dimpled trackpad area once in a while, but honestly, who cares? Then again maybe I'm not that picky when it comes to my trackpad.
- the trackpad uni-button is stiff, thin, and awkwardly recessed making it cumbersome to use. I'm a keyboard shortcut kinda guy so the tap-to-click, two-finger-tap-to-right-click, and two finger scrolling are sufficient for me.
- my wifi card is connected and with good strength.
- fingerprints are only visible on the black screen bezel. The silver hides the fingerprints much better than the black version.

I won't be editing videos or photos, burning dvd's, or building complex financial models in excel while running Bloomberg simultaneously. This laptop will be used to check my fantasy teams, reply to some emails, chat, and to show funny youtube clips to my family and friends. And this laptop will do these tasks really really well. The key is to figure out what you need and adjust your expectations accordingly. If you're looking for a laptop to do the same things as me, then look no further. Sure netbooks arecheaper, but spend a little more and you'll own a laptop that you'll actually use. You won't regret it.』

(Great laptop but the touchpad is skippy)
『Overall this is a great little laptop. The battery life is incredible. It boots up fast and the display is brilliant. My only complaint is with the touchpad. It is impossible to make fine movements with the touchpad. The pointer jumps and skips when making fine movements. Very annoying!!! I've updated the touchpad driver but that didn't eliminate the skipping and jumping. Others have recommended using an external mouse but that defeats the purpose of a "lap"top. Also, the bar that controls the left/right mouse buttons is so firm that it is practically unusable - but the tap features of the touchpad work quite nicely to replace the need for left/right buttons.

If you do a lot of photo editing or other tasks that require precise pointer movements avoid this laptop. Or look on eBay to find a good deal on a used one (mine). I may be selling it soon if I can't overcome this very annoying problem.』

『I wanted something I would take with me everywhere, all the time, but something still very functional. I also wanted battery life that was so long I wouldn't need to think about it. I looked at netbooks; I looked at the HP Pavilion DM3-1040US. The netbooks were more portable, but less capable. The HP was heavier, had less battery life, and (I think) an inferior processor. I chose this Asus, and have no regrets. The battery life is fully as advertised. I take it with me everywhere. Windows 7 works well. Very satisfied. No wireless problems either.

It is a bit flimsy. The plastic wrist-rest creaks and buckles. My other computers include a desktop Dell with XP PRO; a Dell 17 inch notebook with VISTA; a Macbook Pro unibody 15, and this Asus. The trackpad is irritating, but anything would be compared to the Mac. I tried the Samsung Go netbook, the HP 1040, and others. All trackpads (except on the MAC) will make your wrist lock up. The HP trackpad was especially bad. The Asus will win no prizes, but I just use a mouse when I feel the need.

The most important consideration for an ultraportable is that you want to take it with you. If it's too heavy, you'll leave it home. If it's too slow, you won't want to use it anywhere. If the battery depletes to soon, there's no point. This Asus is the perfect balance, at least for me..』

(Amazing laptop)
『I purchased this laptop a month ago for school, and so far it has proven to be an amazing computer with few flaws.

Pros:
- Amazing battery life, I cannot say enough about this. I regularly push 10 hours of use with Wifi on and screen at 40%.
- 500gb HD is huge. I tossed it into an external case and installed an OCZ SSD w/ Windows 7 Pro before ever booting it up. Therefore I did not experience any bloatware. Performance with the SSD is breathtaking, same as the SSD in my desktop. I can't stand to use a computer with conventional spindle drives as boot disk anymore. I do still use them for cold storage though.
- HDMI of course, this was a requirement for me.
- 4GB of RAM.
- Very cool computer. The fan hardly ever kicks on, and with an SSD this computer is literally completely silent. It makes my desktop sound loud, which is very hard to do.
- No problems with Wifi, reception has so far been perfect.
- The keyboard is amazing, once you get used to the odd spacing between the keys. Makes for fewer errors when typing, at least for me at 70WPM!
- Super thin and pretty light, I barely notice the weight in my backpack.


Cons:
- Glossy screen, but hard to find a laptop without one nowadays.
- Integrated graphics. Thankfully I don't play many games, and the few I do play (Jedi Outcast, Jedi Academy, the Battlefield 1942 series) can manage.
- No backlit keyboard. The one thing I really wish it had, but in light of all the pros this is a small fault. Still worth 5 stars to me.
- Webcam isn't terribly great, but at least it has one.


I use this laptop mostly for office use, coding at school, and a fair amount of remote desktop. Could not ask for a better computer for the price.

Overall, I cannot recommend this laptop highly enough provided that you don't play newer games with any regularity.』

(Great Ultralight Portable Laptop)
『Asus is HUGE in Asia, but was not well known to me as a laptop maker until a year or so ago when friend bought an Asus in Bangkok and she loves hers. Now I see it at Best Buy all the time, but do not remember seeing Asus in years past. So I know now that Asus makes great products and the UL80VT is no exception. It is not perfect, but it is great at what it is suppsoed to be: An Ultralight computer with an amazing battery life, an excellent design and great performance for an Ultralight. Therefore I rate it 5 star. You cannot get Uber-Performance in an Ultralight, but I am strictly a non-gamer so this computer does everything I possibly need as fast as I need.
PROS:
1. Chiclet keyboard is fine with nice key spacing and, unlike others, I have not had any problems with the mousepad while typing.
2. Case fit and finish is fine. I have not noted any problems with keyboard flex/screen fit etc.
3. Minimum of bloatware. Every computer has this, but Asus is better than most.
4. Two year Global warranty is better than anyone else, and 1-year Accidental Damage Warranty is also extended to TWO YEARS if you Register your computer within 60 days of purchase. (Every other manufacturer would charge you at least $100 extra for that kind of warranty.) BTW, ADW is a separate online registration which then generates an email with case number for a second mail-in for the ADW.
5. Windows 7 is great - it automatically downloads software for any external device like a speech mike. I have 2 mikes, one Philips speech mike I use for work and one headset for Skype, and Windows 7 downloaded the software within seconds of plugging them in. Then when I plug in they become the default speaker, and when I unplug them the internal speakers take over seamlessly. (That was NOT the case with Vista on my home desktop where it was a huge hassle to go into Control Panel repeatedly.)
6. I have not had a chance to put the battery life to the ultimate test, but after reading countless reviews and testimonials I trust it will truly last for 8-10+ hours (if not the 11.5-12 advertised) which is long enough for an international flight and as long as I would possibly need.
7. Wi-Fi connection is great. Immediately recognized my home network and took me a minute or two to be online with this baby.
8. Making recovery disks took about 3-4 hours, but it went fine with no glitches.
9. It looks great and feels great!! It is a fingerprint magnet as commented on by scores of others, but the sleek looks are still impressive for a computer with a 12-cell battery. The black version looks marvelous - an eye catcher.
10. An $800 laptop with a switchable dedicated/integrated Nvidia/Intel graphics option is a great deal.

CONS:
1. My biggest negative about this computer is the Mousepad/Mouse button. The mouse button is a single bar and you click on the far right or far left to right click or left click. Ths mouse button is VERY STIFF and awkward to use, especailly for Click and drag functions like to highlight text or drag something across the desk top. To click and drag I have to use two hands, one to hold the mouse button down and one to drag. If I could change ONE thing about the computer, it would be to split the mouse button (bar, in this case) in two and make it much less stiff. I avoid using the mouse button by single- or double-tapping on the mousepad, which is VERY responsive, but you still have to use the mouse button to click and drag and that has not loosened up much, if at all, over a month's use.
2. The mousepad is dimpled, but still a shiny and slippery surface. Although it allows vertical and horizontal scrolling and multiple gestures on the pad, it gets greasy feeling and then the pad does not work well at times.
