『This is a great bag for our eees. Some eees come with a simple zipper pouch, but some come without anything. This case is nicer than the included pouches. The best feature is the handles. The center compartment includes a zipper pouch with two mesh pockets (will hold your charger, etc.). There is an outer pocket on each side of the bag. One has 3 holders for pens and 3 credit card-sized pockets. The side pockets have very light magnetic fasteners to hold them closed. According to the tag, the bag fits laptops that are 10-1/2 x 7-5/8 x 1-1/2". It is too bad that the color choices do not match the eee colors - we chose the blue bag for our pink eee and the orange one for the black eee. The colors match those in the pictures quite well. The bags do have a funny odor at first, but it seems to be going away. The odor wasn't bad enough to be a concern for us.』

『We bought this netbook for our 16-year-old son for Christmas and he's used it constantly since then. T. set up the computer himself and plays his favorite online games on it without hassle. I know he's gotten *at least* 7 hours of battery life with it, because it was running constantly during a family road trip. Windows 7 has been stable and easy to use. I recommend this machine to anyone on a limited budget who doesn't need a powerhouse laptop.』

『I have to admit after reading some of the mixed reviews this product received in the past I was hesitant to purchase this item. However, my concerns were put to rest almost immediately after taking it out of the box.

This was purchased for someone who will never learn to use a computer, but very much wanted to be able to use a web cam to chat with family spread literally around the world.

I took it out of the box, turned it on, followed the on-screen instructions (which could not have been simpler), and poof...it was ready to use. Because it was so simple I was able to get the user to load her complete address book (BIG Family) in a short time....and has been thrilled with it's ease of operation ever since.

I think besides the ease of use I most amazed with the audio quality. This does not have the annoying speaker phone qualities. It's as clear as any handset.

I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone, and in fact several other family members have put one on order based on our experience.』

『I gave the ASUS Skype Video Phone Touch SV1TS to my parents as a Christmas gift last year. They like to Skype with my sister and her family, but the computer is located in the basement. They do not want the computer upstairs, but it is often too cold in the basement to stay down there long on a Skype call. They put this videophone in the living room and now they are "Skyping" more than ever! It acts just like a telephone, taking messages and ringing when someone is calling. It appears to go into a power-saving mode when not in use, so now my parents can be online and "available" all the time. They are very happy with being able to see their grandchildren whenever they want. I am very pleased with the quality of the picture and webcamera. Overall, it was probably the best Christmas present given by anyone in my family last year :)!!』

(Serious Wifi connection problems may make you rethink your purchase)

『After what I believed to be thorough investigation, I purchased TWO Asus SV1T videophones. When I plugged in the power and network cable, I marveled at how easy the device was to use. Then I tried to connect via Wifi.

Unfortunately, it was only at this point that I discovered a long documented history of problems with the Asus videophone and Wifi connection. I read every comment I could find and tried every trick in the book to get the videophone to connect to my network via Wifi, ultimately a Sisyphean task.

As a previous Skype forum poster noted, for the price, this appliance really should be "fool proof" and "just work." I am sure the vast majority of users want to connect via wifi, rather than cable, so it seems the connectivity issue should have been something addressed and resolved quite some time ago. Yet, I haven't been able to find any satisfactory resolution posted to this or any other forum on any website.

I will call Taiwan tomorrow with a Chinese interpreter on the line and try to get someone to help address this issue. But I am not hopeful.』

『This was such a disappointment. I didn't want a sticker that can bubble so I got this instead. You can tell it's designed specifically for this computer, but it's off just enough that it's essentially useless. The holes for the ports don't line up quite enough so you'll always be tugging at something. Save your money.』

『For the most part, this silicone sleeve fits okay, but it doesn't fit perfect. The problems being that it covers the webcam and the usb/MMC memory slots.
There are holes there but they don't line up and if you use these, you will find yourself constantly tugging and pulling the cover and hoping it will stretch to allow for it's proper design. It won't, so be prepared to do some cutting or melting to acheive this. Again, this is another product that seems to feel that the hinge needs no protection and so that means it also is two seperate pieces that don't give you the true feeling of security. You can definitely get a better case and protection for just a couple dollars more.』

For all the North American units, the settings on this GPS cannot be saved due to a software bug. So, every time you power off the unit, all your settings will be gone and need to be re-adjusted.

The ASUS service rep knew about it and said the patch is in work...when it was three months ago.

『I liked the story but it was lacking something, not sure what. Lorenzo was the alpha male who needed a quick wife in name only and Jodi was the lady who wanted to meet and marry someone right away to show her X and friend who stole her X just a few weeks before her wedding- that they didn't hurt her....She agrees to marry Lorenzo for a million pounds and a trip to her home town. She wants to show off her new husband who's a duke no less! There was very little conflict between the H&H...maybe that was it? I still recommend this story.』

Lorenzo is very patient with Jodie, and do not make her feel badly about her limp, the way her fiance did. Although he is strongly attracted to her, he does not rush her into bed because she's a virgin. He really cares about underprivileged people, and I especally like the way he told off Louise when they attended her wedding reception.

I really like this book because both Lorenzo and Jodie rescued each other, figuratively speaking. I think you will like it as well.

『I received this net book a few weeks ago and absolutely love it! I am required to have some sort of laptop for school and after A LOT of research (and toting around a very heavy outdated laptop) I settled on this Asus net book for a few reasons. First of which is the battery life. Compared to other net books in the same price range this one has way more battery life. After using it for awhile I can safely say that I have yet to run the battery dead (and I'm in class and work for 9 hours or more).

Second is the size and weight. While 10 inches is small to alot of people, the screen is actually a great size, not too small (as I thought the 8 inch ones were) and not so big. This computer is small enough to drop into a backpack or large purse without any trouble and is light enough to carry around all day (it's lighter than a lot of leisure books).

Another thing I love is the keyboard. It's comfortable to type and the keys are normal size. The touch pad is great, you can turn it off if you have a mouse to use with it and the zoom feature it has makes reading some of those teeny tiny print web pages that much easier to use.

My only concern is the pin on the charger, it is quite small and could break easily if the cord gets tugged. I've been charging at night to avoid any kind of breakage in the pin.

I also bought 2 GB memory and put it in immediately. It makes the net book even faster.

I would recommend this to anyone who is in the market for a fast, easy-to-use net book. Great job Asus!』

『I was planning to take an international trip in September of 2009 and didn't want to lug my "full sized" 14" HP laptop on the airplane for a 9 hour flight. I also was concerned about running out of battery life on such a long trip. So, after much research I ordered this netbook with the 9 cell battery. I also ordered an extra 2gb of memory to avoid potential problems with software I intended to install. As, soon as I received the package I opened the box and installed the memory. I then charged the unit and began using it. After about 3 days I tested the battery life by taking an overnight trip without the charger. I was able to use the netbook for normal activities (not constant use) and return the next day with time left on the battery. I've found that there's really no need to turn this unit off. I simply close the lid and the power comsumptions goes down to a trickle. That way I avoid going through the startup process. I installed several applications I normally use on my full sized notebook including Firefox, Nikon NX2, Microsoft Project 2007, Nikon Picture Project, Mindmanager, Avast antivirus, iTunes, Zune and a couple of others. None of these had any problems working on the netbook. It's important to remember that this machine is not designed to multitask so it's one function at a time or you going to see lags in the operations. You can open multiple apps, but you can only use one at at time. When I download updates with iTunes I turn simultaneous downloads off. The wireless 802.11n is very fast downloading faster than my full sized laptops which have 802.11g. My one complaint it that the outside of the unit is dark blue and collects finger prints immediately after cleaning. I keep a microfiber cloth in the bag just to wipe it down. I only recharge the unit at night and even then, not if I haven't used it more than 3 or 4 hours. All in all a great choice.』

『I love the size and battery life of this netbook! I did not realize that you don't really get a full screen type view so you have to do a fair amount of paging up and down. The built in mouse bar is a little stiff so your hands get tired after long use. Still working on figuring out how to connect with my existing laptop to share files and load software that you cannot download. (not straight forward?)

The portability is great and beats carrying around a 5-6lb laptop!』

『I bought an Asus Eee 701 about a year after it came out, and grew to love it like a faithful pet. It was far more flexible than a smartphone and much smaller than a laptop, and it was also a babe-magnet. But I eventually got fed up with the small screen and the limited battery life. I had to carry a high-capacity spare and constantly keep an eye on the remaining power. Asus came out with a confusing array of replacement models, and the 1005HA appears to be the best modern combination of value and performance (there's a 1008HA, which is thinner but has a non-removable battery, and there's also a pair of larger 1201 models which seem to overlap uncomfortably with conventional laptops).

I've had mine for about a week now. Compared to the 701 it has a conventional magnetic hard drive, split into two 80gb partitions; a larger, higher-resolution screen; and much longer battery life. It takes the same memory modules, and indeed I swapped the 2gb chip in my 701 for the 1gb chip in my 1005HA with no problems. Physically, the hinge feels slightly less robust, and the body is proportionately heavier than the 701 (the battery, in contrast, is surprisingly lightweight). It's still hand-holdable but not as comfortable.

Good stuff: the screen is 1024x600, not quite a conventional resolution but enough for most purposes. The battery life is very impressive, far inside my comfort threshold. If you commute on the train for an hour and a half each way, and use it to surf the internet whilst doing so, and you use it at lunchtime and a bit in the afternoon, it should last a couple of days before you have to charge it. The 701 would have conked out during lunch. In practice you would have kept turning it off and on in short bursts and worrying about the battery. You can just leave the 1005HA on, and worry about other things. Although the batteries are large, they aren't very heavy, and so a couple of them should last a long aeroplane journey. The 701's only advantage in this respect is that it can comfortably be used if you're standing up, whereas the 1005HA is a bit too large for that.

As with the 701 it has an SD card reader, which is useful if you have a digital SLR that takes SD cards. It's less relevant than the 701's SD card slot, given that the machine has a 160gb hard drive; with the 701, the SD card stood in for the hard drive. You don't need it any more.

The keyboard is a revelation. The 701's keyboard was an uncomfortable hunt-and-peck thing with a misplaced right shift key. The 1005HA's keyboard has a full-sized right shift key and it's in the right place. I can touch type easily on it. The cursor keys are initially odd but the arrangement works. The power adapter is slightly smaller. Everything else that was good about the 701 is good about this.

Bad stuff: I'm not enthused with the touchpad. It's flush with the case, differentiated by some studs. It doesn't feel as precise as the 701's keypad, even after a week of acclimatisation. The screen surround attracts hairs and dust like a vacuum cleaner. I miss the absolute solid state silence of the 701. It's slightly less of a babe magnet, because it's larger. You don't get the carry case that came with the 701 (boo!) or indeed any carry case. In all other respects it is win city.

The only substantive criticism I can level is philosophical. The 701 had a definite niche. It was much much smaller than a laptop and far more flexible than a smartphone. It felt fresh and new. The 1005HA, on the other hand, is not much more portable than a small laptop, and in fact it's thicker and heavier than some laptops. I'm slightly more wary of carrying it around, slightly less willing to put it in the luggage, slightly less willing to use it in public. I could carry the 701 around easily with one hand, snap it open, surf the internet etc, snap it closed, stuff it into a backpack etc, whereas the 1005HA is more cumbrous. For a machine that only makes sense as a mobile device this is a bit worrying. Still, the extra battery life alone is a killer upgrade and if you sell your 701 to fund the upgrade the price is even more impressive.
