(Works just fine)
『I haven't had the product very long but it seems to work just fine. Nice long cable and the detachable power input is nice. Now to see if it lasts longer than the original power supply that came with my eeePc.』

(Sparks When Plugged In)
『First of all the charger I received was white, despite it being black in the picture. Thankfully I didn't mind, but most of the time when I go to plug it in there's small visible and audible sparks between the prongs and most outlets I've used. The same usually happens if the 2nd part of the cord connecting to the box(don't know the name for it)comes loose and I have to reconnect it. Because of being frequently bent (my own fault) where it connects to the laptop the cord split exposing some wires and makes it so I have to have it at just the right angle to get a charge connection. I won't buy another one from this same source because I'd rather not worry if stray sparks from plugging it into an outlet will electrocute me.』

『The access point has been performing as advertised. And that makes me very happy! We would buy this again.』

(Solid device, but a couple of problems)
『I have one and have used it on travel several times. At the Marriott Conference Center College Park, MD I ran into a problem where plugging it into the Ethernet jack blew the Ethernet port -- in two different rooms. I don't know what the problem was and why it blew the Ethernet port, but it did it twice. The hotel said they had to go back and reset something, and I wound up having to use the wireless in the lobby. Other than that, it's been remarkably reliable and very useful. I did wind up putting some masking tape over the lights -- they are way too bright to leave on in a room when I'm trying to sleep.』

『I used this to connect my 50" Panasonic G10 to my wireless internet. I had a little trouble with the initial configuration, but an email to Asus customer at service Aps_support@asus got me on track. They provided speedy, step-by-step instructions and were very nice. The instructions were also included in the disc. Don't make my mistake trying to just use the quick start guide. After the correspondence from customer service, I had this working in 5 minutes! Some things have changed since the last reviews. All instructions were in English. I did not have to try to locate English. I would definitely recommend this product to others.』

I want to thank the people who took the time to give helpful hints on amazon in there reviews who made it much easier. One thing I must say is when you they tell you to type the ip address into your internet browser, they are talking about typing it into the address bar. If this would of been explained more clearly in either the manual for in there reviews it would of saved me hours on aggravation. After I figured this out it was smooth sailing. 『This is a great little computer. Really nice size. I was worried about the keyboard size - I have big hands - but so far no problems.

The battery seems to last a long time. I haven't timed it so I don't know if it actually lasts 8.5 hrs.

I really like the way the touch pad works. It's not as sensitive as some I've used and that's good for me.

I use it for reading online books from [...] by using EeeRotate [...] which allows me to rotate the screen and the touchpad 90 degrees clockwise.

Works great for checking mail and browsing the web.

The screen is very small, but that's the sacrifice for the small size.

Windows 7 Starter seems to work fine. I don't need to tweak anything for my purposes - It's not a development machine.

I was able to add a second user setup for my wife. You can't switch users, you have to logoff.

I did add the 2G memory and that made a significant difference.』

『Got the pink system in for my wife's birthday, just in time. Only problem is after less than an hours use the screen blanked out.

After the mandatory hour on the phone with tech support the system is considered DOA, frustration. Amazon will replace it for me much faster than ASUS.

『I bought this computer a few weeks ago, upgraded it to Windows 7 Home, and I take it with me everywhere. It's great for taking notes in class (I'm a college student) and so small I can fit it in my purse. But I don't feel that the size makes it difficult to use at all. As a matter of fact, out of all the computers I've owned or used in my life, I find this one the easiest to type on with the best accuracy. It's a great computer for internet and word processing. I would recommend it to anyone!』

(Great Computer - Not happy with Windows 7 Starter)
『I bought this computer basically for browsing the Internet and doing other minor tasks, listening to music, creating documents, watching TV and Movies etc. I haven't run any labor intensive programs yet (I've only had it for a couple days). I was going to play around with it for a while before deciding to upgrade to the 2GB RAM. So far so good. I haven't had any of the HD vibrations or excessive noise the other reviewer had. The battery life is phenomenal. I can't believe I can use a laptop this long and not have to be plugged in.

My only gripe is the Windows 7 Starter that comes installed. I have heard great things about "7" and couldn't wait to try it. For someone who likes to "play" with settings, configurations and stuff, the starter edition is not the way to go. You can't even change your desktop from the boring windows logo. I did not think about reviewing the Windows 7 Starter edition before buying. I may have to spend additional money upgrading to the Home Edition. If you are going to buy this laptop make sure Windows 7 Starter is for you.

All in all very happy with the netbook and will serve my purposes wonderfully, just wish I would have looked at Windows 7.』

(Ergonomic keyboard defeated by vibration problems)
『Asus nearly has the netbook PC perfected. The size and ergonomics of this keyboard are bar none the best among netbooks today. The wide touchpad has the right level of sensitivity as well. And Windows 7, even with the entry level Starter edition, offers much faster processing&bootup times than Windows XP does on the Intel Atom N270 processor.

However, the Asus Eee 1005HA has its achilles heel in mechanical design. The 250GB HDD has undamped vibrations that pass throughout the chassis and straight into your wrists. The fan also runs excessively. The combination creates high levels of noise and vibration compared to similar netbooks such as the Acer Aspire One D250. Also, even without Anti-Virus software running, Windows 7 and the preloaded software consume 40% of the available 1GB of memory.

Asus will undoubtedly be working out the kinks in this netbook, but many users will find the vibration and noise levels to be unacceptable, especially when other manufacturers offer netbooks without these concerns. Once Asus releases a thermally cool, vibrationless version with 2GB DDR2 memory, this netbook will be unstoppable.

Update: after exchanging for a second 1005HA, it has the exact same vibration issues. This endemic rather than a one-off dud.』

However, the Asus Eee 1005HA has its achilles heel in mechanical design. The 250GB HDD has undamped vibrations that pass throughout the chassis and straight into your wrists. The fan also runs excessively. The combination creates high levels of noise and vibration compared to similar netbooks such as the Acer Aspire One D250. Also, even without Anti-Virus software running, Windows 7 and the preloaded software consume 40% of the available 1GB of memory. Asus will undoubtedly be working out the kinks in this netbook, but many users will find the vibration and noise levels to be unacceptable, especially when other manufacturers offer netbooks without these concerns. Once Asus releases a thermally cool, vibrationless version with 2GB DDR2 memory, this netbook will be unstoppable. Update: after exchanging for a second 1005HA, it has the exact same vibration issues.
