『My girlfriend loves this case. It fits her Dell Mini 9v Hackintosh perfectly.

Upon receiving it, I was surprised by the quality of material and construction. The colors - even though basic black and white - are very bold and rich.

Overall I was expecting something far inferior and was delighted to give my girlfriend a gift that will last.

It has about an 1/8 or 1/16 in memory foam on either side - just enough to protect it, but not too much to make it bulky.

『We are happy with the monitor for the most part, but it was extremely disappointing to us when we realized that it not only doesn't have a remote control, but does not support one. That is almost a show stopper for us. We are currently struggling with purchasing a receiver, so we can hook up our PC and our DVR audio, and at least control the volume remotely, but we are not going to be able to power the monitor on or off with a remote control. Adding salt to the wound, there is no way, at least that we have found, to switch between video inputs (VGA to Component, for instance). That means that we have to physically get up and walk over to push the button on the confusing front panel interface. Wow, did I really give this three stars? I must be in a good mood.』

『This is my first large screen monitor that I just bought from Amazon. There are many ports that users can use and its speakers are loud enough for my room. It is good for gamers that you can adjust the light easily when they play in the dark place, but I am disappointed when I bought it, the price dropped $40. (Nothing But Love For The Asus VK266H)
『A little over a month ago, I received this Asus VK266H monitor from Amazon with some apprehension. Having used only CRT monitors in the past, I was concerned that an LCD monitor might not measure up to the crisp clarity of my current 21" CRT. Secondly, due to some reviews, I was concerned about the possibility of dead or stuck pixels. My final concern was light bleeding or color shifts from the bottom or top of the LCD screen. ALL of these fears were allayed with the arrival of the VK266H. Firstly, going from a 21" CRT to a 26" LCD monitor (25.5" viewable) was truly a positive shock. I'm also glad I was convinced to acquire the VK266H's 1920 X 1200 viewing aspect ratio rather than a 1080 monitor. I was also pleased the monitor sported a DVI connection port (VGA is also included) as the DVI connection is far sharper than VGA (all cables and adapters for both connection ports are included: Way-To-Go Asus!). After making my DVI connection and turning on my computer I was absolutely floored by the quality of the display. This is a beautiful display. Listen, I do a lot of work in Photoshop and my photos have never looked better than on this display. Calibration was an absolute snap using the calibration tools already provided by Apple in Leopard 10.5.x System Preferences>Displays>Color>Calibrate. I have a dual-boot system (Leopard-Vista) so no problem running the included Web Cam which has software only for Windows. Who would have thought one could purchase this kind of quality for under $300.00? The closest competitor for this size display costs literally hundreds of dollars more. If you're in the market for a large-screen LCD monitor you owe it to YOURSELF to at least check out Asus! As you may have surmised by now, I've got nothing but love for the Asus VK266H! 『This Monitor is a good buy. You will need to get used to the very akward control set up though.
The manual does a poor job of showing how this goofy control system works.

A remote would be helpful but is not available.

That said, all other aspects of this unit are excellent.

I use it for computer via VGA and Blu-ray movies etc. via HDMI. It also sports Component and DVI inputs
and includes basic monitor type sound quality with small rear facing speakers.

I use an outboard sound system and don't use the included 2 MP web cam yet.

Picture quality is superb and control over aspect ratios and color, brightness, contrast etc. is first
rate (once you learn by trial and error how to access these adjustments).

I had never heard of ASUS but "ships from and sold by Amazon" when I bought mine, gave me confidence
to try this priced right product. I'm very glad I did!』

(Fits a Dell Inspiron Mini 10 perfectly, even with six cell battery.)
『This case is exactly what it says it is, and is well made. I'm pretty confident that it will fit all 10 inch wide screen netbooks. It fits our Dell Inspiron Mini 10 with the 6 cell battery snuggly. There would be more wiggle room on a computer with a 3 cell or flush battery. There is a thoughtful and well constructed flap next to the zipper to protect the laptop from abrasion from the zipper. This is an uncommon and very thoughtful feature. Without it, the shiny netbook finish on the Mini 10 would surely get scratched. I have other sleeve type cases that don't have this feature. I use them on my metal cased Latitude, so it isn't an issue on that computer, but it would be on a Mini, especially if you put a decorative sticker on it.

I am not a big velcro fan, but the one use of it on this case is in a good spot. The long straight flap that you see just above the curved flap, is the one with the velcro tab. If it wears out or fails, that flap will remain pretty secure. The other two openings, both the main laptop pouch, and the small curved accessory pouch have very solid zippers on them. They even have coated pull tabs to make them more ergonomic.

Speaking of the accessory pouch, it is small, but big enough to fit the power cord and a small mouse or other accessory. Again, I can only speak for the Mini 10 power cord, but I assume that the other Netbook makers use ones that are just as compact as Dell.

I think that you will enjoy this case. It is perfect for protecting the netbook in your purse or backpack.』

No real complaint there because as we all know these battery life claims are not realistic. There are ways to crank down the computer but you sacrifice brightness and speed. The track pad is a little sensitive and sometimes has its own mind but all manageable. I upgraded the memory to 2GB going with the premise that more memory is always better. Originally purchased for carrying around the house and web surfing, this netbook has been pressed into prime duty since the main household PC died a month ago. Currently, it is hooked up to a Samsung 22 inch monitor, external hard drive, Logitech webcam, printer, external speakers and on the household wireless network. It has performed flawlessly. I have not noticed much performance degradation at all. It boots up qickly and runs great. I am sure the extra speed from the N280 processor helps as well as the memory. The extend feature on the video lets me use the netbook's screen and drag windows over to the Samsung monitor. The 1000HE remembers where the window was so I when I open a program up, the window opens on the monitor it was last on. It is very easy to switch video resolutions for those programs which need the 1240x768 mode. My wife and I use Skype and while the built in camera works just fine, we use an external Logitech webcam which supports a higher video feed. This netbook handles it perfectly and if there is any issues with through put, it is usually on the other end. We also run MS Office 2003 on the ASUS and it works great with that, too. The only keyboard quirk is the shift key on the right side of the keyboard. My natural tendency is to go too far to the right and hit the arrow key, but that is just a retraining exercise for the fingers. I am very impressed with the power of this netbook.
