The center compartment includes a zipper pouch with two mesh pockets (will hold your charger, etc.). There is an outer pocket on each side of the bag. One has 3 holders for pens and 3 credit card-sized pockets. The side pockets have very light magnetic fasteners to hold them closed. According to the tag, the bag fits laptops that are 10-1/2 x 7-5/8 x 1-1/2". It is too bad that the color choices do not match the eee colors - we chose the blue bag for our pink eee and the orange one for the black eee. The colors match those in the pictures quite well. Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (good laptop) 『Had this laptop for about 2 months now, no tech problems. Had to replace Win7 with Linux, as it gets very slow as you load it with stuff.
Pretty decent for common tasks and quite good for gaming, but perhaps not for the latest FPS on max settings. Also works pretty fast with photoshop, although windows does consume a huge amounts of memory.
Laptop does stay pretty cool and after 2 months still works very quietly (my last Acer had a scratching and wiggling fan by that time). Battery lasts about an hour and a half on video playback (I guess could be longer if the power saving options are configured properly).
The only thing I did not quite like -- the glossy finish of the laptop cover, however, to be fair, it does not show fingerprints as badly and does look pretty cool when clean (for about 15 minutes that is :). Another little annoyance -- plastic around the display is pretty soft and can easily accumulates minor scratches.
Another thing I did not expect -- the 16" display has a 1366x768 resolution, which means that it is more stretched than more "standard" 15.4". Some games playable in full screen on 15.4" now run in a small square in the center of the screen -- which is not a huge deal especially if you have external display -- but at the same time its great for watching movies.』
(Very happy with this machine) 『I recently purchased this laptop, and have been very happy so far. Very fast performance and outstanding video display. I've read that ASUS has the lowest return rates of any laptop, and I'm not surprised. The machine stays very cool and does not seem to overheat. I've only had this a short time but have been using it heavily, and am very happy with it.
I haven't tested the battery all the way through, but I'm guessing from other comments that the battery life is probably indeed inside of 2 hours. Truthfully, that's not an issue for me. Maybe it is for others, but I don't fly much and don't have a need to work without a power source for several hours.
If you are looking for a strong desktop replacement and want to spend under $900, this is the laptop to get.
The keyboard takes a little getting used to, but something tells me it might be sturdier than keyboards on prior laptops I've owned.
This is an outstanding machine.

(Laptop connected to HDTV with HDMI) 『This laptop was easy to setup the display on a 60 inch HDTV with a HDMI cable. The first time I tried it there was nothing on the laptop screen. The default settings doesn't allow for anything on the laptop screen. Everything is on the TV. So make sure you go to the correct HDMI source to type in your password to get into windows 7.
This laptop looks great on a big screen TV with a HDMI conntection. Now I just need more high definition video online.
I also tried the VGA connection. It also works well, but it doesn't display any high def. video as high definition.
It was also easy to setup the display to fill the TV screen with no overscan.
My only complaint is the touch pad. It is hard to get used to. In the past I have had Lenovo laptops and and loved their touchpads.
This is my first Asus laptop and other than the touchpad, everything else works better than I expected.
I also like having windows 7 media center to record high definition cable channels.

He would have preferred a>$2000 gaming rig but given he's in the military, I didn't want to give anyone else itchy fingers, not to mention being in less than optimal conditions. He was doubtful when he received it but came around quickly once he found that it handled WoW easily. In fact, a friend "triple boxed" Wow (running three game concurrently) without any trouble! The keypad layout is much better than the configuration of our 17" and the boot-up time is short and sweet thanks to ASUS for keeping it clean and virtually free of bloatware (yes, I'm looking at you, HP!) All in all, we're very happy with the capabilities and price of this laptop and will be looking to ASUS for our future needs.』
(Dell XPS Meet Your Match) 『I bought a Dell XPS M1530 November 2008 and it was subsequently stolen November of 2009. In my quest to replace my laptop I was stubborn&hesitant at first to stray from Dell having owned 3 laptops previously from them with no issues and nothing but excellent experience. I went shopping at a local Electronics retailer and stumbled upon this machine which is lesser known in the Southern US, however I have now learned they are the 3rd largest seller of laptop computers in the world and have won numerous awards. This machine is FAST it boots up to start menu in a mere 8 seconds flat which is impressive. Although there are faster machines out there, for the price of this one it is well worth it for under $1000. The screen picture is crisp as no other and is LED HD and has one of the best resolutions out there, great for movies and other video media. Constant power would need to be on the router end and USB power on the player side is logical but if you are new to this type of thing that may not be obvious so there should have been at the very least a diagram. in the box or printed on the box. So I will give it 4 stars out of 5. Other than that it worked like a charm and I'm enjoying BD-Live.』
(good idea with limitations) 『packaging of this item is very simple: just a plain white cardboard box. not even a manual explaining how it works. i got this as my solution for getting a blu-ray player that requires wired ethernet connection online: plug #1 to a router and power source, and #2 to the blu-ray player's ethernet and usb port (for power), and it's done. no setup required. the process is extremely easy. the down side is the network box takes up the only usb port on my blu-ray player, and this only works one to one - any other players that require wired network access would have to get their own bridge kits.』

I found that it worked only for basic updates of firmware and for showing some additional information on specific movies.. Not a terribly useful frill.. There is a 3rd party software to show video and play audio from your PC by using this wireless set. However, it is in beta version and does not seem to be freely available..』
(Bad set up; good device after setup) 『The Asus wireless bridge arrives with no setup guide or instructions; the theory is that it is fully plug-and-play with no instructions needed. What you will find in the shipping box are: two device boxes, marked simply 1 and 2; two ethernet cables; one power adapter to plug into the electric supply and one of the two boxes (both boxes appear identical except for their numbers); and one USB power cord to plug into a USB port on a computer, Blue-ray player or other device to be connected to the wireless network. That's it. Good luck. I didn't find a setup guide on the Asus web site, but it might have been there somewhere.
I assumed that box no. 1 should be connected to the cable modem or router (using one of the two ethernet cables) and to the power adaptor. I did see three blue lights come on (power, ethernet, wireless) which looked promising. I went to my Blue-ray player (an Oppo BDP-83) and used the other ethernet cable for box no. 2. No lights; no good wireless connection. So I tried the USB power connector. For some reason, this didn't work at this time, but later I learned that this was the correct step.
I read customer reviews here and on another vendor's site for the Asus. On the Asus site I found diddly squat. Someone (incorrectly) said that the power adaptor needs to be on the receiving box (no. 2). So I moved my power adaptor from no. 1 (which now lost all its nice blue lights) to no. 2 (which now got the blue lights). Testing the connection on my Oppo showed no connection. So I did some troubleshooting by moving the ethernet connection over from box no. 2 to my laptop computer, which couldn't get an internet connection either.
So, fortunately, I went to Oppo's own website. It did have the Asus setup guide, which is very, very simple: The power adaptor goes with box no. 1, which is connected to the electric source and (by ethernet) to your router or modem. The USB power cord is connected from a USB port on the back of the Oppo into box no. 2. The second ethernet connection goes between box no. 2 and an ethernet connection on the Oppo. Presto. Done. The connection works. Both box no. 1 and box no. 2 have pretty blue lights (three each).
Asus' failure to provide this simple setup guide in the shipping box is inexcusable. What should have taken less than five minutes took me a couple of hours of fooling around. Once you get it up and running, it works simply and great. So: 1 star for setup. 5 stars for performance (and being simple little boxes that won't clutter up your system or work area). Average: 3 stars.』

When we first received it, the stylus scratched the screen the first time it was used. We shipped it to the repair center and got it back a couple of days later to find that the power switch would not work. It would not even turn on! We sent it back to the repair center and haven't seen it since. They are already having to change out parts to a brand new netbook that was used once. We paid nearly $500.00 for it, and it is already needing new parts. There is obviously something wrong with it. Could it possibly be a lemon? They will not send us a new one. If we ever get it back, and something goes wrong again, we are contacting the BBB and a lawyer. I would not recommend ever purchasing anything from them.』

First off its just too slow for the touch interface to function properly. The shift and enter keys are very poorly placed. The touch pad doesn't work very well, it occasionally thinks you are trying to do something else than move the cursor. If you use the touch pad to write there is no "interpolations" i.e. your writing looks like you wrote it in paint. All in all they should have held off on this till they had improved it a little but on the upside you do get a lot of features for a low price. I especially appreciate the ss-hdd and Bluetooth. I almost rate it 3 out of 5 but everything considered I would not recommend it.』
