(Great Find At A Cheap Price) 『When I came to know of the twilight world after the movie came out I found that the best twilight related items were the fanmade rather than the mass produced products you can find at a mall. The picture doesn't do this item justice, although the wolf detailing is only on one side of the charm. I gave it a 4 out of 5 because I would like the wood to be a little thicker. Other than that, this is a GREAT product for the price. We've seen the mass produced twilight charm bracelet and can predict that when The Twilight Saga: Eclipse gets closer to its release date we will see a mass produced Bella bracelet that will probably be a little more expensive and very popular. Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Not Da Real Thing.. .. ..) 『Being Sizzla's first official new release since his hit Da Real Thing, i really didn't expect too much from it. And when i saw the track list, i expected even less, Jet Star doesn't usually put out Kalonji's best album of the year, but they do usually do respectable projects. Light of My World is honestly no exception. The best thing i could say about it is, no its not as good as Da Real Thing, its on par with Ghetto Revolution, very similar to that album, but this album sounds very very good. Certainly more to the credit of Sizzla than the album's producers, his voice sounds awesome on some points of this one. My favorite tune here is oddly enough Babylon is Burning, which is more like his usual lyrical domination on a nyabinghi foundation and it sticks out here. The main point on this album is love, most of the songs are about his love of women (which is certainly a great thing) thats the whole point of the album. Also check Reason for My Love, which goes all over the place on a hip-hop influenced beat, and same thing for Need. Like the title tune as well very very good and the dancehall tune Wreckage. A side note is the very good article on the liners by John Masouri. Overall, a very good well presented project, no its not his best work and it wont be remembered as such, but it is very respectable, sounds great, very good production and sets the tone for the year for what is certain to be another full of shocking new material from music's reigning lyrical king.』 『2003 album from one of the leaders of the mid-'90s resurgence of roots-reggae as an inspiration for the aggressive dancehall sound. Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Not your grandson's electronic music) 『For those who are unacquainted, this set is the gateway into an entirely new experience of sound. Few listeners, and likely not many practitioners, for that matter, of dance, techno, and trance fully appreciate the extent to which "electronic music," as we know it, was borne from the world of avant-garde classical music...
...and don't expect a killer drum and bass rhythm section on any of these pieces. As you'll soon learn from listening to this box set and reading the ample liner notes (with intro by Brian Eno, no less), the origins of electronic music were anything but simple, or dull. The set takes off by introducing a couple standard-ish classical pieces which put to use some of the first electronic instruments invented. The theremin and ondes martinot (a small keyboard-based instrument which was a distant precursor to the synth) are featured in the first two tracks, respectively, and after that the set moves into some of the different movements and styles developed throughout the middle part of the 20th Century.
Track three is by Pierre Schaeffer. For all you dance and techno buffs out there, this was the first man ever to loop a track, play a track back in reverse, or use a host of other effects which are all common tools for musicians of today. His "Etude Aux Chemins de Fer," or "Railroad Study," is a field recording of various train sounds which was manipulated by Schaeffer in his Paris studio. He developed this method of documenting found sounds and applying various effects to them, dubbing it "Musique Concrete." The process caught on fast. John Cage uses the same method in "Williams Mix," but organizes the sounds in random, rapid succession according to complex principles of chance. This piece is absolutely jarring. Another amazing example of musique concrete is Hugh le Caine's "Dripsody," a virtuosic piece composed from the repetition and manipulation into different pitches of the sound of a single drop of water.
Before entering the age of synthesizers, there is some fine tape-music in the form of Varese's "Poeme Electronique," a fantastically subtle blend of found sounds and instruments grossly manipulated by tape cuts, as well as Richard Maxfield's "Sine Music," a sort of pointillist tape piece which rearranges the sound of a sine wave.
Shortly following the era of musique concrete, synthesizers were being brought into development. One of the first synth pieces on the Ohm set is an excerpt from Milton Babbitt's "Philomel," a complex serialist work scored for female voice and the Mark II synthesizer, (one of the earliest ever developed, to which Babbitt had sole access for a time). "Cindy Electronium" by Raymond Scott is another highlight, which uses Scott's own "Electronium," a "spontaneous composing and performing machine," as he described it, developed half a century ago. As you will notice when hearing this track, the Electronium was capable of producing electronic sounds which sounded as modern as anything churned out by the electronic musicians of today. Also provided in the synth category is a sample of Morton Subotnick's infamous "Silver Apples of the Moon," one of the most popular electronic pieces ever recorded.
The later tracks on this box set delve into digital computer pieces and soundscapes. Paul Lansky's "Six Fantasies" is a rather haunting piece for robotic-sounding voices harmonically enriched using early computer technology, and David Behrman's "On the Other Ocean," is a brilliantly thought-out improvisation between a solo cellist and a computer program written by Behrman himself, which reacts to the soloist's performance. The four or five tracks rounding out the set can be considered some of the earliest forms of New Age, as these artists used combinations of the earlier techniques to make some of the first intentionally ambient and hypnotic music.
To me, the most fascinating aspect of all of this music is not only the lack of conventionally-produced sound, but also in many cases the complete abandon of traditional compositional form. In 90-95% of the pieces, there exists either no recurring themes, introductions, crescendos, counterpoint, etc., or there exists merely a complete distortion of these standards. This music truly represents everything new and revolutionary we have come to expect from the beginnings of the postmodern era.
The Ohm box set serves as a fantastic historical document and THE definitive entrance point for anyone interested in the origins of electronic music. The fact that edits are occasionally used can be a bit frustrating (the original versions of many of these pieces are loooooong), but some of this music is not available anywhere else, and let's face it: after being infected by the incredible sounds encased here, you'll be searching for all of the artists' original albums, anyway.
(PS, be sure to pick up the reissued version, OHM+, which is the same exact set but comes packaged with a DVD.)』
(excellent but uncomplete) 『Althought most of the music here is an excellent collection of electronic music history, this 3 CDs lack of the important contribution given by the RAI phonology studios of Milan, Italy in the 50s (which was bigger than Koln's WDR studios) with Bruno Maderna, Luciano Berio and Luigi Nono. This is a big mistake. Milans studios were the biggest of europe and produced many important electroacoustic pieces. If the collection aim to describe faithfully electronic music history, it should include this artists too.』
(To call it music may be a bit limiting.) 『Some of the tracks on here are "music". That is that they contain all the bits we're trained to experience as music -- melody, etc. Some are not, and the composers would be the first people to tell you that. A lot of these works are reactions to ingrained rules, so they're bound to be jarring.
A more successful way to approach such a broad and varied collection of audio experimentation is to think of it as curated sound. This isn't something to wash the dishes to, or to seduce someone to (although if you did manage to seduce someone with the recordings on this anthology, HOLD ON TO THAT PERSON, because they've got to be a keeper). These are unique sound textures that deserve a close, probably solitary listen, and I think if you're in the right frame of mind, it can be a very rewarding listen.
My main complaint is sequencing: each dicrete piece follows it's own internal logic, so there are more than a couple rough gear changes. However, since each piece is so different, and the collection is so varied, I'm not sure that you could totally escape that.』
(A worthwhile collection) 『The OHM collection contains some of those ground breaking electronic compositions that have shaped today's styles, from the early electronic instruments of Theremin and Martenot, through Pierre Schaeffer's Music Concrete tape music and the electronic music of Stockhausen and Subotnick, to the mainframe computer output of Risset and Chowning.
It is unfair to mark this collection down due to the production quality and 'musicality' of its contents, to do so would be to staggeringly miss the point of the development of electronic music through the 20th Century. What this collection shows is the ideas behind those at the cutting edge of the genre before many could even conceive of such output. That said it is hard going at points, as experimental music can be.
Highlights for me are no doubt Olivier Messiaen's 'Oraison' on CD 1, David Tudor's 'Rainforest Version 1' on CD 2 and on CD 3 David Behrman's 'On the Other Ocean' and Maryanne Amacher's 'Living sound Patent Pending'.』
(OhMyGodHowDreadful) 『Ok, this collection is supposed to be early works and, thus not expected to be very sophisticated or polished. But the OHM collection sounds like the first attempt of a spastic cat turned-loose on a Moog keyboard. When it is not boreing, this collection of random and dissonant sounds (I can't call it music) is without any redeeming qualities to make it worth while. Don't get me wrong, I am a long-time fan of Wendy (nie Walter) Carlos and some other real pioneers of electronic music. However, I find that the Ohm collection has no similar qualities and is a major disappointment.』 『Opening with Clara Rockmore's reworking of Tchaikovsky with the theremin, and finishing with one of Brian Eno's ambient soundscapes,OHMartfully succeeds in its goal of giving a representative (as opposed to the impossible, comprehensive) overview of the first several decades of electronic music. Over 3 discs, 42 compositions, and 96 pages of notes and photos,OHMclearly illustrates the producers' and contributing writers' point that early electronic music is much of the foundation of contemporary music. Herein lies the connective tissue bridging musique concrète, 20th-century classical, electronic experimentation, and the theoretical avant-garde to psychedelia, ambient, dub, techno, electro, and synthpop and the globalization of sound. The groundbreaking uses of loops, sampling, drones, remixes, and cut-and-paste technology are put fully into context.The diversity of music included makes any sort of summation impossible, but that is also the point: electronic music is not really a genre, but an open field of endless possibility. From John Cage's famous "William's Mix" of tape snippets to Karkheinz Stockhausen's electronic orchestral compositions, from David Tudor and Holger Czukay's experiments in unrelated blendings of audio elements to David Behrman's supremely peaceful duet between computers and musicians, the aural renegades onOHMtread where none (save a few of their contemporaries) had gone before. The liner notes convey the incredible amount of hard work and experimentation it took to stitch together many of these pieces in the predigital era. Putting aside the inevitable quibbles about what's missing (much of it due to legal and/or logistical issues), a more complete collection of musical eggheads, eccentrics, and visionaries is hard to imagine.--Carl Hanni』

However, this CD is a must-have for serious collectors of 50's doo wop or R&B music. 』
(Finally A Charming Collection) 『Collectables Records rather dramatic recent improvement over past years when it was the low-rent district of re-issue labels still has a ways to go (is it really necessary to have their website prominently placed four times in this package, including on the disc itself???), but they've finally gotten their act together as far as remastering, hiring the great Little Walter DeVenne, increasing the amount of songs per disc and upgrading their packaging to respectable levels. They still don't include a discography, recording and release dates, or sidemen which is vital to this era of music, and while the two pages of liner notes by Victor Pearlin attempt to fill in the blanks, an extra page with the necessary recording info would've been easy to compile and include - hence the one star deduction.
That said, this is the first Charms collection that legitimately qualifies as a Greatest Hits disc and for that fans have to be grateful. You get a full twenty-five songs, from their somewhat ragged beginnings in '53, when the group is woefully out of tune behind then-16 year old lead Otis Williams (who even then sounds fully confident) to the dawn of the next decade, a period in which vocal groups reigned thanks in part to their contributions including the massive 1954 hit"Hearts Of Stone"which made them stars.
Because Otis Williams was always the focale point of the act, the Charms actually went through many incarnations through years, most of which are addressed here in chronological order. Only two latter year minor hits from the early 60's aren't included, which is strange considering they too were cut for King Records (the rest these came out on DeLuxe, a King subsidiary). But otherwise this disc is the most in-depth look into the career of the Charms and has a great cross-section of material that was their trademark, as they hit with everything from the pop balladry of"Ivory Tower"to the uptempo"Two Hearts"in mid-decade when white America was turned on to these sounds.
The Charms were unique among R&B vocal groups however in that while they found themselves frequently covered by white pop acts, as was the practice of the day and looked back upon with disdain today for"stealing"the thunder of the black originals, the Charms actually were often found covering other artists themselves. Their biggest hit came from the Jewels (a looser, rougher, but more atmospheric version), and the Charms smoother, polished style plus greater distribution made it, not the original, the crossover hit. They also snatched half the action on the Five Keys novelty"Ling Ting Tong", swiped"Bazoom"from Leiber&Stoller's studio group The Cheers, and even cut a version of Patsy Cline's country hit"Walkin' After Midnight", doing uniformly good jobs on all of them, but perhaps detracting from their legacy amongst R&B purists.
By the end of the disc they show that while they might not have been the most groundbreaking group they were always very capable and had many equally stellar originals that went unheard by most. The great"Don't Wake Up The Kids"shows them goofing on an adult party like junior league Coasters, while"My Prayer Tonight"is a startlingly good sophisticated ballad that still has firm roots in R&B. Overall this collection is quite thorough and consistantly entertaining with some nice lost gems amongst the hits - the group singing on"Blues Stay Away From Me"is a thrilling highlight to discover for example. Far more than just a group that attained lasting notice from one huge smash and nothing more, this is irrefutable proof the Charms were rock solid for a long stretch of time when the sounds of rhythm and blues vocal harmony was dominant.
Considering how long it took for someone to put out a comprehensive Charms CD, and considering it comes from a company with a history of doing a shaky job on these things, this is uniformly classly and (pardon the pun) a charming surprise.』

Michael Kitchen is such a good actor but in this movie he is not kindly old Mr. Foyle. He really is a dispicable and menacing character. In parts I was really frightened for Penelope Wilton's charactor. Of course, in the end she pulls it together in a way that makes any women's libber proud. Its a good story, well told, well photographed. Well worth the money and time.』
(A Must-See for Any Woman Over 40 (Or Younger)) 『Unfortunately the scenario depicted in this film is all too common, although rarely mentioned. In fact, since the feminist movement more and more men have lost any manly inhibition they may have had for seeking women to be financially dependent on; and using charm and compliments to manipulate themselves into otherwise savvy women's lives. Based on the novel "Falling" by Elizabeth Jane Howard, who in turn based the novel on her own unfortunate experience with a "fan" when she was in her seventies.

(Tour-de-force performance by Michael Kitchen) 『"Falling." What a wonderful title! After seeing this film, "falling" brings to mind stepping up to the brink, closing your eyes, and taking a plunge--without ever looking.
For fans of Detective Chief Superintendent Christopher Foyle, (played by Michael Kitchen in "Foyle's War"), this movie is a superb opportunity to see a lot more of the actor (without so many other characters murdering each other and taking precious screen time away from Kitchen, as they do in "Foyle's War"). In "Falling", Kitchen plays Henry Kent in a role that allows him to portray a much wider range of emotions than the character Christopher Foyle calls for--and to use a much broader vocabulary: I have a difficult time imaging the reticent Foyle voluntarily using the word "ravish." Henry Kent, on the other hand, proffers the word easily, guilefully.
As the film begins, Henry, seated on a train, gives us an unusual soliloquy on love and loss. The oddity of this scene is alleviated somewhat as we then watch the glib, wonderfully friendly Henry meet his prospective love, Daisy (played by Penelope Wilton with just the right touch of bewilderment). Henry charms his way into her house and soon manages to light a fire for her, as it were. But, don't expect a simple romantic story here. Time spent with Henry could never be simple or straightforward. This tale moves forward to include a full range of emotions, including some heart-pounding suspense.
Michael Kitchen gives a versatile and clever performance in which Henry Kent exudes a singular jaded charm--which seems conjured quite naturally by the actor. Kitchen's mature, handsome face and his boyish smile are a wonderful foil to the character's personality and intentions. This film is a little diamond, a gem which keeps turning, and in each turn, you see all the varying faces that Kitchen can reveal. Henry is tender, creepy, mercurial, tempting: he is a tribute to the wizardry of Michael Kitchen. Truly a tour-de-force performance. 』 『"...as mature, unshowy and skilful as its leading actors... It's the same here as in later flicks like "Wedding Crashers." The guy has one speed, evidently. Still, it's fun to watch Sheryl Crow and Dwight Yoakum acting instead of singing. The tale is downbeat, no gore. The ending is unlikely, though. Not a bad waste of time.』
(Laid back killer-thriller) 『Vann Siegert (Owen Wilson) is a laid-back drifter. Approaching a small seaside town, he runs into heroin addict Laurie Bloom (Sheryl Crow) in a dive bar. Taking her for a drive, he offers her a drink from his special flask ... amaretto and poison. Leaving the body in a roadside restroom, he continues into town.
Once in town, Vann takes a room from the Durwins. Doug Durwin (Brian Cox, the best Hannibal Lector from 'Manhunter') takes to Vann immediately, but Jane Durwin (Mercedes Ruel, The Fisher King) is cold at first. Doug is quite fond of young HS football player Gene, and is deeply affected when Gene goes missing. Gene is a victim of Vann's, though Vann broke two of his own rules. (Don't give a drink to someone you know, and don't do anything in the town you live in) Doug gets Vann a job at the local Post Office, where Vann meets Ferrin (Janeane Garofalo), who smokes and drinks, two things Vann doesn't do. Vann and Ferrin hit it off anyway, and Vann settles into his new residence and new life. But there are parts of his old life he won't give up, and the killing continues.
'The Minus Man' is not a fast-paced thriller. It's a casual stroll through Vann's life, narrated by him, revealing his personal thoughts on life, other people, and killing. Vann suffers from fainting spells, in which two detectives from his past haunt him. Det. Blair (Dwight Yoakam, who proved he could act in 'Sling Blade') and Det. Graves (Dennis Haysbert) appear in his subconscious, asking questions about his reason for killing. Even Van himself is befuddled at some of his actions, and often uses humor instead of explanations in his answers.
Owen Wilson always plays such a laid-back role (Meet The Parents, Zoolander, Shanghai Noon, Shanghai Knights, etc.) that it was a surprise to see him cast as a serial killer. But the casual pace of the movie, combined with Vann's tranquil narration of his motives, is fully suited to Wilson's characteristic relaxed persona. They either use the gimmicks and glamor of Hollywood( Casting Selma Hayak as Martha Beck, the lovelorn nurse, hefty in girth, but not in morality)to seduce your sensibilities, or create an unpalatable monster( Laura Prepon as Karla Holmoka, a sadist with a beautiful face). Owen Wilson recreates the serial killer as a character. He placates you with a charming, articulate persona, then proceeds to blindside the viewer with acts of non-violent murder. He never attempts to justify his actions with rationality, or some purpose based complex. He is...as he says...empty. Its difficult for me to imagine a man like Owen Wilson as a serial killer. His face seems so open, and inviting, his kindness appears sincere and non-threatening. Perhaps this is the genius of the casting choice. He is the Elephant in the room, with his complete lack of emotional flux. For me, The Minus Man redefined the face of inhumanity, by showing us how the seemingly normal ones always fall through the cracks. Highly recommended.』

(Essential Reading for Spellcasters) 『I knew I had to have this book as soon as I saw the title. I think it's long overdo for someone to have written a book on how to actually make spells work. When the book itself arrived I was a little disappointed. It's a pretty small book to have a list price of $14.95! But as I started to read it I knew that it was worth every penny. When the author wrote in the Introduction: "As you become more experienced, you'll realize that there is a difference between Wicca as a religion and witchcraft as a skill." I knew that I was going to love this book! It's refreshing to see that there are Wiccans out here that realize that anyone of any religion (and no religion) can practice witchcraft, because witchcraft is basically the practice of magic and spells. I also found it interesting that when the author moved to America when she was in her early teens, less than a year later she discovered Wicca. This is exactly what happened to me! I've since moved on to only practicing witchcraft and don't consider myself Wiccan, but it was the religion that showed me that there are others out there practicing magic and that it wasn't all in my head. I also found it interesting that the author comes from an Islamic background, because most of the books I have are by people who come from a Christian or Jewish background.
Now to the actual book itself. This book has seven chapters. Chapter one, "Foundations of Spellwork," is excellent because it talks about the mindset of the witch. If you cast a spell but you are not physically and mentally ready for the results, your spell will probably fail or manifest in a way you didn't want it to. This chapter has exercises that help you get clear on what you want or need and how those things might affect your life if they manifest. This is very important because if you're not really clear on what you want, how do you expect the universe to give it to you? Chapter two, "Sensing Energy," has a bunch of exercises to get in touch with the energies around you. To be honest, I didn't find much use for most of them. I liked the exercise to awaken the chakra centers, the one to get in touch with earth energy, and the one to clear negative energies from your aura. The other exercises, like getting in touch with the energy of objects, plants, animals and humans I didn't find that useful for me personally, but I can see how they can be useful to other people. Chapter three, "Manipulating Energy," is really the meat of the book. Here you will find various exercises of raising, directing, and using energy. Once again, there are some exercises that didn't speak to me personally. Like raising energy with chanting, dance or song. Those might be useful if I didn't live with other people. But she did provide a technique of raising earth energy and shaping it into an energy ball that I did find very useful for those of us who prefer mental/direct magic without any other trappings. I was glad that the author mentioned throughout the book that we don't really need physical tools to cast spells, though they can be helpful to focus one's energy. This chapter also has techniques for charging charms and candles. Chapter four, "Revising Existing Spells and Writing Your Own," is another excellent chapter that's been missing from most magic books I've read (I've read hundreds of them!) and she goes further than any other author I've read in explaining how to revise existing spells and writing your own. She provides examples of actual spells and then revises them so that they make sense and actually include instructions on when and where you are supposed to raise and direct energy. Chapter five, "Other Useful Techniques," has some interesting ideas on manipulating energy. There's a section on kitchen witchery which I didn't find interesting but others might. What I did find interesting were her techniques for energy shields and glamour. Very interesting and it shows the reader that the applications of energy are only as limited as your imagination. Chapter six, "Ten Practical Tips," is a short chapter with some useful advice from the author. Chapter seven, "Guided Meditations," is another short chapter providing two guided meditations which I didn't find that useful or interesting.
Overall, I think that this book belongs on every witch's bookshelf. If you've got a bunch of spellbooks with spells that sound interesting but aren't really clear in how to raise and direct energy to make them work, this is the book for you! I own hundreds of books on magical topics and I think I'd put this one in my top five of all time favorite and useful books. And even though the author is Wiccan, she realizes that not everyone reading her book is and it was refreshing to be talked to like an adult when she mentioned ethics. I also liked how she shared personal stories of her own spells, which you don't find in many magical books these days. The only problem that stands out for me with this book is that there are several paragraphs from chapter one that are repeated word-for-word in chapter two! But that's a minor complaint, and it probably has more to do with the editor than the author. I also didn't care for some of the exercises, but that's a personal thing. I can see how those exercises can be useful to other people, they just didn't speak to me personally.
In conclusion, this is one of the best books on magic available today, and one of the most useful if you want to cast successful spells.

(Effective Magick, Very Dubious History) 『The Necronomicon Spellbook is Simon's summary of the Fifty Names of Marduk and how to easily summon the spirits attributed to the Names for Magickal purposes (mostly thaumaturgical). Knowing that the Necronomicon is most likely a fictional work invented by Lovecraft for his weird tales, this Magick can and does work for the simple fact that there are grains of truth in the "history" and with the Will&Intent any system can work by default of the Magickian's knowledge of energy manipulation. Simon's knowledge of Sumerian history appears quite small, as he makes a few incorrect statements about that civilization and how they disappeared without anyone knowing what happened to them (actually we do know that they eventually moved on to more fertile land further north and gradually melded with the later Babylonians). Simon's history is very dubious and when reading the brief introduction, be very skeptical of his/their (some controversy surrounds who "Simon" really is and it is very probable the name Simon refers to more than one person involved in the publication of the Simon Necronomicon) claims of the authenticity of the Necronomicon and it's survival from Sumerian times. As noted however, the spells can and do work for the reasons I outlined above. There are however, other ways of learning thaumaturgy (practical Magick) without having to resort to calling on spirits from a dubious text without sufficient instruction on banishing. For that reason, I recommend this book for the "Necronomicon collectors" who are fascinated by the development of this phenomenon or for already experienced Magickians who wish to try something new and different.』

(Great book. One tiny problem.) 『I am a 2nd generation witch but I have not embraced witchcraft or any theological thought form for nearly 20 years. In my quest for multi-versal knowledge and through my avid interest in and incessant reading about quantum physics and super quantum physics, I have, ironically, arrived back at the starting point. The basics which seem so right to me. (Sorry for the run-on sentence and all the ones to come...) This book is a fabulous tool for beginners and adepts alike. I love her non-denominational approach and she really breaks down the process of spell creation and use in a user-friendly format, but.....
I came across one line that I feel I must caution all potential readers about. "If invoking earth itself is too abstract for you, then envision small, dark humanoid creatures emerging from the ground to add their personal energy to your spell."
Uuuuhhh, I'm not exactly sure what the author thinks she's telling the reader to do but do yourself a favor and go with the gnome instead. (the author gives a gnome as the first choice for the spirit that represents the element of Earth) I am also an experienced paranormal investigator and shadow people(small, dark humanoid creatures that emerge from the ground among other places) are an all-too-common feature at super haunted sites. These are not creatures you want in your sacred circle or your home and they are very real. Though some statements must be taken with a very heavy grain of salt (just do what feels right to you) this book is a gem in the witches library.

Being a little bit of a slow walker and knowing the temperatures could be brutal, I knew I needed good hydration. This was exactly what I needed!! I filled the water container the night before, leaving it in the refrigerator overnight to get cold. I figure it holds the equivalent of about three 16-oz water bottles. It felt light, even when I first put it on full. The mouthpiece worked well and was in a handy location. The feel of the cooled water on my back was a definite plus throughout most of the walk. It remained cool to drink, or at least seemed no more than room temp by near the end of the 13 miles. This was a perfect size for me, since I'm only 5'2". I kind of wish the little zippered pocket was larger or in a more handy location, but I don't think there's really anyway to make this happen, so I won't complain. It held my ID, car keys, and phone easily. I'm so glad I bought it because I've liked distance walks for years and always hated to carry my water bottle, have someone deliver water to me, or place water in strategic locations on my route. This will be good to use for everyday walks in the heat. BTW, the cin/bery color was quite cute!』

(Overall excellent hydration pack within limits) 『I have found this to be quite adequate for trail runs and shorter bike trips. I am small, and it fits perfectly. My only problem with it is that the capacity simply is not enough for longer rides. It is okay on the trail runs as I normally in a location I can refill, but when you are out on the highway in the middle of nowhere, you want a bit more liquid than this one holds. On the plus side though, it rides well and is extremely comfortable. I solved the problem by simply buying different capacity units to use for different events. This is a good product, but I am marking off one star simply because it does not hold as much as I thought it would. Probably more my fault that the product though, I must admit. I should have researched a bit better. That is one of the problems you have buying online without seeing the actual product.』
(Excellent mid to long range hydration) 『I purchased this with the intent of doing 10 milers and half marathons in summertime Iraq, and its capacity is perfect. My aim was to have something to sip, to avoid that dry mouthed feeling, without much weight or inconvenience.
There is minimal bouncing, if the straps are adjusted well, and I hook the tube into the webbing on the opposite strap to keep it from bobbing around. The lack of a smoother way to take care of the tube is the only reason I can't give it five stars.
It rides very comfortably; I haven't had any issues with chafing, and often forget I'm wearing it (after the first 3-4 miles, once things settle down).
I wouldn't bother with a pack for shorter runs, but this won't be big enough for longer ones if you're a guzzler. I still want a full bottle of water when I finish running. Also on size, the zippered pocket is outstanding for carrying a couple of ID/credit cards and a key, plus perhaps some chapstick or other small item, but nothing much larger.
I had some sloshing issues that were taken care of when I realized extra air needed to be squeezed/sucked out before running.
