As cute as the cut-outs are, when you get them on your layout, they kind of look out of place. I would personally stick to buying 3-D embellishments or stickers, rather than buying this cartridge thinking you could do wonders with it. Spend your money on the font cartridges. They are more practical in your scrapbooking. A cute little icon adds so much personality to a card or tag. Accessorize all of your paper crafting projects with Doodlecharms. (Oh Queen..)
(Oh Yeah. . .) "Ganja Baby" has got to be the greatest marijuana anthem ever recorded. And the funny part is, the rest of the album is slamming too. This is one of the best reggae albums that never got recognition. I have heard some tunes by queen omega before, so I decided to buy this CD..The sistren is real blazing up de fire.. I have enjoyed the CD. Her mellow voice,to the point message and some fine riddim makes this CD above the rest. I would ALMOST say she is a sistren version of brethren Anthony B.Reggae fans out there, the queen is no joke,she's really blazing it up..It's hard to find a perfect reggae CD these days but this one it's almost to perfection, it won't disappoint anyone..Go and get it and you'll enjoy it believe me.. I was pretty surprised to see this one available on Amazon.com. Queen Omega for the last few years has been absolutely blazing a trail for female roots reggae artists. 3 albums into her career and I have yet to hear a tune from her that I just absolutely did not like. Queen Omega probably is best desribed as a female version of a Luciano or maybe even a Sizzla as she mixes (but not so much) her standard singing with djaying, and is equally efficient at doing both. Her first 2 albums (Queen Omega and Pure Love) were both spotless, couldn't say a bad thing about them, Pure Love was the single greatest album that I heard in 2003. The best tune here is the flat out awesome Deliver Me, followed closely by the opener Jahmazing Grace, the title track and Looking For Love. Also check More Joy, De Youth and Know the Business. Perhaps the oddest track on the album is the adapted 22 Questions, which is Queen Omega's take on US rapper 50 Cent's 2003 hit 21 Questions. Overall, can't reccomend this one enough, this 23 year old singer from Trinidad is well on her way to creating a sort of consistency the roots side of reggae has never had from a female. Artists like Angie Angel and Queen Majeda have seemingly come and gone, and this woman has enough presence, voice and devastating ability of writing lyrics that she might be able to take this to the next level. AMAZING! GO GET IT! Released January 2004. From "Jahmazing Grace" on the "Heavenless" riddim to "De Youth", sung on the Abyssinians' "Abendigo" riddim, Queen Omega takes the listiner by storm with vibes of serious power. ("Secret Places"is a delight.)
(Secret Places)
(You don't have to tango to love this recording) I have the hobby (for lack of a better word) of picking up a tune and exploring all its different versions. Lately I was exploring the classic bolero "La historia de un amor". I must've found some 50 odd versions of it and was almost wrapping up on it, when I wandered to the Quintango website and chanced upon a clip of a tango-ized version of this song by Quintango. I knew I'd found a rare gem. I must've played the clip some 20-30 times over! Quintango's version of it heavenly, and can instantly trigger a flood of emotions, and I know Ive found a gem. I'm on my way to purchasing all their CDs. Recommended for people who like to listen to tango music. This is Washington DC's best-known and most recorded tango ensemble. They have played at the Kennedy Center, the White House, and the Pan American Union, as well as the Argentine Embassy. The ensemble includes 2 violins, double bass, cello, and piano. All musicians have impeccable academic credentials and have performed professionally with regional symphony orchestras.The music on the disk contains a lot of favorites:"La Cumparsita,""El dia que me querias,""Nueve de Julio,""Taquito militar,""Tus besos fueron mios,"and"Caminito."There are only two pieces by Piazzola. I mentioned that because some dancers do not like disks that have a preponderance of pieces by Piazzola. Yes, some people stay away from"tango nuevo."Dancers will recognize the names Carlos Gardel, Gerardo Rodriguez, Mariano Mores, and Juan de Dios Filberto. The arrangements are great, and the presentation is delightful. This is a most thrilling CD. The music is vibrant and each attack is crisp and in tune. Tango appreciation has taken a huge step forward with QuinTango and anyone that listens to this fine CD connot fail to be converted. I was lucky enough to see this group perform in the Kennedy Center to an overflowing audience and they are as superb live as they are on this CD. It's lush. It's sensual. It's soothing. When you listen to Quintango (either in person or on one of their CDs) you are transported to the beauty of the tango. As much fun as it is to watch (and I've been told - to dance), it's splendid to hear this group play tango music. This is a must for any lover of tango and its music and even for those who are not familiar with either. Try it, you'll love it. Classic tangos, tango waltzes (vals criollos), milongas, and New Tango are all presented with the signature passion and elegance of QuinTango, a quintet of strings and piano. Liner notes in English, Spanish and French. Rerations < Secret Places >

(Legendary selections by a legendary voice) I have been looking for John McCormack on CD for years. I was thrilled when I found this and other CDs on Amazon. I have an LP that I bought decades ago and I have almost worn it out. The CD quality music is so much better! With special emphasis on the variety presented in this collection, this album has a broadness of scope that will appeal to anyone who appreciates the magic of the human voice. McCormack was perhaps the most popular entertainer in the world during his career, comparable with the superstars of today, only richer in the currency of his day. Though purists may have criticized his shift to the popular venue as opportunism, and perhaps desertion of his training in the classical tradtions, he was simply presenting what people wanted to hear. Whether he set a pattern of career management followed by modern entertainers or was simply happiest when the accolades flowed over him matters not. The talent and richness are his legacy to us. His range and vocal dexterity are well illustrated and represented by this larger than usual collection, and anyone with a particular favorite tune in his rather loose genre will likely find it here. After a journey through this collection, listeners may well gain another special melody or two for addition to their personal list of"best ever"songs and singers. Although it may be considered a bit foolish, some will choose this album for only one or two tracks. Some call that trait wasteful, but when a jewel of performance is played again and again, the teardrop may fall once more, and the heart will thrill yet again. This album will please many musical palates, even those who claim no special fondness for"Irish Tenors." Rerations < Legendary Irish Tenor >

customer 's review ("Out and About in the 1700s")
(WHATS NEW PUSSYCAT !!!)
(Worst "Best" Picture Oscar Winner Ever!)
(One of the Best Adaptations to Screen Ever)
(One of the worst "BEST PICTURES": TOM JONES,1963.DVD is like the VHS!) This movie is such a great example of use of humor in a fictional biography. ("Little Big Man" would be another) Tom, played by Albert Finney starts his life under dire circumstances and goes from one predicament to another. We fear for his life many times. Most of the Action occurs in the 1700s and we get to see the traumas of people living with parasites, being arrested for minor offenses and punished without benefit of fair trial or representation. Raw sewage and garbage fill the streets. It was a time when getting through each day was a hair-raising adventure for most people of a certain socio-economic strata. Tom loves the ladies and is hoplessly addicted to their attentions, which causes him even more problems with irate husbands, boyfriends and angry family members. Somehow he survives it all and usually lands on his feet. There is a wonderful and memorable scene of a feast in which the feast-goers shovel the food in without care of manners or decorum. They wipe their greasy mouths with their own hair dangling down or with the hair of their wigs. They eat with their mouths open and the food flopping out and flapping against their faces. Turkey legs are gnawed on with the veins and tendons springing outward in a sickening manner. Loud burps fill the air. Eating utensils are used as a last resort, fingers preferred. This movie won many academy awards and deserved them all and then some. Tom Jones stars Albert Finny as a would be Casanova who LOVES shall we say the delicate things in life. Winner of BEST PICTURE(???) 1963.
My friend Geri owns all the Best Pictures and I always give her pains and sorrows when she mentions this for all I can think of is....
~~~~ITS NOT UNUSUAL TO BE LOVED BY ANYONE~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~AND SHE STRIKESSSSS LIKE THUNDERBALL~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~YOU LOVE THE WAY SHE WALKS THE WAY SHE MOVES THE WAY SHE TALKS SHES A WINNAH~~~ SHES GOT MOVES SHE GOT FACE SHE GOT STYLE SHE GOT GRACE TAKE TO DINNAH~~~~~~~~SHES A LADY WHOA-WHOA-WHOA SHES A LADY TALKING ABOUT HER BEING A LADY Whoa whoa whoa shes a .... When you think that "Lawrence of Arabia" preceded this and "My Fair Lady" followed this it boggles the mind that something as terribly bad as this film could ever be mentioned in the same breath as those two brilliant all-time classics of film. I thought that "Gigi" was the worst film ever to win the Best Picture award until I saw this. Much of this film reminded me of the typical Benny Hill comedy and we all know just how "well" those jokes have aged over the years.
Not only is the film itself extremely mediocre but so is the dvd; the picture quality is extremely poor as this hasn't been restored at all and the sound quality is just as poor in mono. I only hope that the book itself is a lot better than this waste of plastic.
Highly NOT recommended except as a cure for severe insomnia! Tom Jones is one of the greatest books in English literature- and still very fun to read. This movie captures the spirit (and the essentials of the story) perfectly. Of course, there is a great deal more detail in the book but the movie would have had to be ten times longer to capture that- of necessity screen adaptations have to pare down the story to essentials in order to fit a two to two and a half hour time frame. The result is often a movie that bares little resemblance to the original story. Not here. You will not be disappointed. Oh well...it's just my opinion!
I found the movie,after all these years, not funny,trite,boring,but most of all not well researched as far as costumes and make up.This Period Piece about the foundling Tom Jones, and his "naughty" chasing of the ladies,is anything but that.As far as the look of the film,there is much that was overlooked in the production value of this film.The costumes were extremely dull and unimaginative.Some characters appear in the same get up in every scene. There was no attempt to de-60's these actors-women with the plucked eyebrows and fake upper eyelashes,as well as inauthentic hair styles.On the deer hunt, it is obvious that the hunters are traveling a road clearly marked with tire tracks (that was really startling!).A Period Piece needs to have a look and air of authenticity and historicity.TOM JONES does not.Director Tony Richardson seems more intent in making a film that has a silent movie-era effect with his countless odd dissolves and transitions that seem affected after a few scenes.The film seems intent on amusing us with clever trickery of the style of the film,but is sorely lacking in any substance.1963 must have been a week year for films,or could it be that LILIES OF THE FIELD was just too "black" for the Academy to award it's top prize? Just my opinion.
The DVD is identical to the old VHS print-very grainy,dull color and color fluctuation with bad sound.The tape is better for the price. Winner of four Academy Awards including best picture, director, screenplay, and music, this 1963 adaptation of Henry Fielding's classic novel is a rousing, bawdy comedy about a young man's ribald adventures in 18th-century England. Albert Finney is splendidly hilarious in the title role of a charming womanizer who was discovered as an abandoned infant in the bed of Squire Allworthy, a wealthy landowner who named the child Tom Jones and raised him as his own. As a young man, Tom yearns for the comely daughter (Susannah York) of a neighboring squire, but his amorous adventures (including an extended food orgy that becomes the film's funniest scene) lead him to London and to a duel with a jealous husband. He's sentenced to hang, but fate intervenes. A hit around the world, the film was expertly written by noted playwright John Osborne, and director Tony Richardson uses a variety of old-style movie techniques to heighten the lusty, good-natured fun. Don't miss this one!--Jeff Shannon Rerations < Tom Jones >
(Disappointed)
(wonderful to watch)
(So Cute!)     Too many of the doubled up DVD sets contain one 'good film' with one 'sad second film'. In this case, both of these Goldie Hawn classics are worth owning, which make the combo pack a perfect addition to any collection. This is a great product. A great deal for a double dvd. I recommend this to anyone who loves Goldie Hawn. I've only watched Protocol and was disappointed in the quality. The film was too dark and had several glitches that nearly stopped the movie. My mistake may have been trying for a bargain and getting two movies instead of the one I really wanted. Hillarious to watch. Goldie is a wonderful actress and these movies are sooooooooooooooooooo funny, i nearly wet myself laughing. The item was just what we ordered -- good quality. I had forgotten how cute these two movies are! We purchased them to watch before our daughter leaves for basic training after joining the military! customer 's review (Soooo funny!)
("If it weren't for Venetian blinds, it'd be curtains for us...")
(strains to be funny...)
(Poor Mr Martin)
(Crude ,vulgar and vigorous)    This is a REALLY funny movie, from the very beginning! Kim Novak is awesome, as usual, and Ray Walston is absolutely hilarious! Seems a little ahead of it's time, a surprising twist, totally enjoyable! Billy Wilder's most notorious flop, KISS ME STUPID (1964) was one of the first mainstream Hollywood movies to deal with the risque subject of partner-swapping. Dean Martin is the top-billed star (his character is very much a supporting one); but the film belongs to the sublime comic talents of Ray Walston and a surprisingly mellow, downbeat Kim Novak.
In the small town of Climax, Nevada, struggling songwriter Orville Spooner (Ray Walston) and his friend Barney (Cliff Osmond) attempt to trap visiting singer Dino (Dean Martin) into covering one of their pop songs. To sweeten the deal, Orville sidelines his wife Zelda (Felicia Farr) and substitutes local good-time gal Polly "The Pistol" (Kim Novak). Complications arise when Orville and Polly start taking their married couple act a little too seriously; and a drunken Zelda accidentally spends the night with Dino!
Wilder injects the story with equal parts hilarity and heartache. Kim Novak in particular with haunt you with her downbeat performance as the local floozy aching to enjoy the kind of stable, loving life which Orville's wife takes for granted. Novak's chemistry with Ray Walston is delightful, and their performances really cement this as one of the best romantic comedies of the 60's. As one would also expect from Wilder, the ending is very bittersweet but appropriate for the characters. I suspect this was another reason why the movie flopped with audiences during it's original release.
The DVD is sadly devoid of extra features. KISS ME STUPID is a brightly-written, intelligent romantic comedy (remember them?), and is highly-recommended from this corner. The one and only reason to see this is the gorgeous Kim Novak. Novak has charisma to spare. Makes her character, Polly the Pistol, fun, lovely, and--absolutely believable.
Walston seems miscast. Martin not very good at all. Writing is contrived&doesn't work. Some claim Wilder was a genius... Seems, to me, he was far better as a director, than a writer.
A rather unfunny film that has dated badly. Some momen |
