i have 4 or 5 i-roy CDs and this one is the absolute best! it has all of his best stuff and is a great place to start if you are collecting good reggae! the beats, hooks and background instruments are all very original and fresh. checkit! ire!
If you don't know, then let me fill you in. I-ROY ruled dancehall when his music was being released early 70's. Nobody could touch I-ROY for output or originality. Big Youth was the other popular DJ and U-Roy was already history (no disrespect). I-ROY took over everything. One track called "Sound Education" is very rare indeed and a killer tune. Look for the all time I-ROY classic LP "Presenting I-ROY" and also, look for any album with his best ever tune "BLACKMAN TIME". That tune can stand up to ANY tune today - ANY hip hop or rap - BLACKMAN TIME is a killer tune that shows you what I-ROY was all about. But listen to BLACKMAN TIME if you can find it. (EDIT: There's an album with a misleading title called BLACK MAN TIME that has a "fake" version of Black Man Time track on it - it's nothing like the classic track but it's still a good album) Back to this album: Most of the tracks on this album weren't hits - but a couple of them were popular... "Sound Education" was an underground classic. "Buck and the Preacher" was popular. I don't really know about the rest of the tracks... Get this if you can afford it - but definitely get "Presenting I-Roy". Peace.

It's commonly said that the Jamaican deejays of the 1970s were the original rappers, or at least the closest to the officially sanctioned MCs of New York City. Instead of being primitive barkers, as one would reason, some of these deejays possessed flexible voices. I-Roy was one of these. At his earthliest he adopted U-Roy's hip-thrusting ejaculation, which went something like:"HHHH-HeUUUuh!!"But on this collection he can also be heard donning a nasal chanting style for one track, a variety of satirical voices, and his trademark gritty baritone, part-rapped, part-sung, which he sweetened when necessary. An array of witticisms, boasts, Biblical citations, movie reviews, and astute commentaries on ghetto living and events - this just nails home the fact that I-Roy was one of the best rappers in any business.

(Best worship music out there)

I grew up listening to Christian radio and going to all the contemporary Christian concerts. I was very involved in the Passion movement with Lou Giglio and love all those artists. However, this Red Mountain Church CD is by far one of the best out there from a theological standpoint, unique sound, beautiful orchestration, etc. It is all I listen to!

If you dont know this man has a voice like none other. "Thinking about you" is my favorite along with "Thick Girls". I would love to see a collaboration with he and Tank, two brothers with definete skills and extremely easy on the eyes. Just creamy chocolate!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have yet to get the CD for myself. But I was listening to it when I was in Dallas. My cousin just happened to have it. I just want to comment on the fact that music has lost is social conscious subject matter. People used to sing about things that were going on in the world. Furthermore, people used to SING, as opposed to having to entertain others with dance moves and intricate sets to perform on and provacative videos.

However, this guy is off the chain. He has the vocal talents that surpasses most. I mean, you can tell he feels what he sings. And as a brotha, I ain't hatin'! It is a shame that he cannot be promoted as well. I willing to put him up against the status quo. He can do more with his voice than most of these thundercats can with their dance moves! And that's real talk. I mean with the exception of Joe, Eric Benet, and David Hollister... which are all in their own right REAL... this brotha has something real to offer to the area of music. "Better Than" is Right. Just so you know, and then he got "For the Love of the People" where he takes you to church... MANNN... I was bout to wreck tha car. It's definitely a CD worth coppin'
This is an awesome CD from Terrell. He has a deep voice with a unique sound. The track "It's You" is indeed my favorite. This is one of those CDs you can listen to from beginning to end!
I first heard Terrell Carter sing about 10 years ago with Fred Hammond. His voice caught my ear and I have been a fan every since then. Not only is he good looking but he can sing as well. There is not another voice out today that can compare to his. If you liked him in Meet the Browns and Medea's Class Reunion,then you will love this cd.
Terrell is one of a kind. Coming out of marital dispair, this album truly helped me heal. Far from a disappointment.

This album is a fusion of R&B and Gospel. He has a sound that is street and edgy.

This is light-hearted comedy! I laughed because it was funny which it is. Get over it!
Okay, everybody who has any interest in A&A knows about it being started by two White men (Gosden and Correll) in Blackface and later hiring real Black actos for the 12950s TV show. With that said, on to the movie itself.

Simply put, it's not that good by any standards. There are a few midly amusing minutes of A&A doing some of their standard schtick such as"Mulsifyin and Revidin"and"Phone Call to Ruby"(as well as the tire changing routine that would later appear on the TV show). But aisde from this and the priceless footage of the Duke Ellington Band, FORGET IT! This early sound film is as dry as toast! A draggy love story not involving the prinicipal characters also helps slow things down like molasses in January. This film was so bad that even Gosden and Correll themselves have gone on record as dismissing it as junk andCharles Correll's son has recently said that his father hated it so much that he forbade his son from watching it! He had a smart daddy.
much like most early cinema society is too dumb to realize the world has changed along with values, i remember getting complaints for customers when i worked at the lowly hollywood video because the films i shows were not in color or were dated, well anyway amos and andy are a historic milestone in cinema and should be appreciated if there were no amos and andy there certainly would be no honeymooners or flintstones or something that joe suburbia would know (sadly)the simpsons. and there is a great performance by the duke (ellington) dont judge unless you have seen the film pc nazi's
The characters in Amos and Andy cross any racial barriers artificially imposed on in today's Politically Correct times. The humor is priceless and the scenarios are as real today as they were then. So you don't like Lightnin'? Tough! He is an integral part of the"team"and an invaluable asset to the show. Bravo for those who brought this wonderful show back to life!

GSR2 Biofeedback Relaxation System
I designed the GSR2 in 1976. Yes, it has been around that long. Over the years over 500,000 were sold through the sharper Image, American express and dozens of other catalogs and to thousands of medical specialists, especially psychologists for use with their patients.
Indeed, I used it to do my doctoral research with Angina patients at McGill University's teaching hospital, the Royal Victoria Hospital Cardiology Department. It was used to teach Angina patients to control increases in heart rate and blood pressure which leads to pain, with great success.

Does it accurately measure change in GSR activity. Absolutely. Is the change only due to movement artifact? Definitely not. You can clearly prove this using the extender electrodes which come with the GSR/Temp2 kit, since the Velcro band holds the electrodes in constant contact with your fingers. Similarly, if you followed the instructions in the manual which suggests the optional position of holding the unit upside down with the strap in place "Place your first two fingers limply on the sensing plates; your thumb goes underneath the unit. Never press down or squeeze. Only your natural touch is needed, as the unit is designed to allow full and even contact, even if your fingers do not cover the complete length of the plates. If your hand needs steadying, flip the strap up. The strap is not absolutely necessary, however, it is recommended that you use it. Use it only to stop hand movement and help you maintain a light, even pressure on the plates. To adjust band tightness, gently pull the band out on both sides. Many people prefer to allow the GSR 2 monitor to rest upside down in the palm of their hand. Some people use the remote electrodes, to permit stable monitoring even while moving their hand." The key is not to grasp the unit, but to let your hand rest gently on it or to let the unit rest gently in your hand.

As to your experience of non-reactivity with the 'elastic stabilized' GSR2, I strongly suggest you were not getting a changing tone, because you were NOT changing YOUR GSR level. The GSR2 is extremely sensitive to changes in the sympathetic nervous system (SNS). A rising tone indicates increased SNS activity and stress; conversely, a falling tone indicates decreased activity and relaxation. This is due to changes in skin pore size and electrolyte concentration in the pores.

If you question the efficacy of the GSR2, I suggest you look at the Thought Technology history page to see examples of how it has been used by 1000's of Olympic and professional athletes to teach relaxation and visualization skills for their sports, as well as by clinicians to use with their patients. Surely, they aren't training just movement artifact. I strongly suggest you test the unit again.

I designed the GSR2 because at the time, there were only large unwieldy laboratory style devices that required external electrodes. My goal was to make something ergonomic, which was totally self-contained, would run for years on a single 9 volt battery and which could be expanded to work with external sensors for temperature, respiration, meter display and PC.

In 1986, HES software sold our product for the PC as CalmPute. Leonard Nimoy was the spokesperson for company and was featured prominently on the CalmPute box. You can find loads more information at thought technology's website as well as just by doing a Google search.
At first, I was impressed with how well the audio tone followed my level of relaxation.

Then I noticed a glitch when using the GSR2 upside down (the manual said upside down was allowed). The more I relaxed - the tone actually got higher (not lower as expected). I deduced that this was because as my finger knuckles relaxed, it provided more surface contact with the sensors.

As a design engineer, I'm familiar with lie detectors, so I decided to emulate finger tip galvanometers by strapping several rubber bands between my fingers and the GSR2. This test showed that no matter how deeply relaxed I became (I'm trained in deep relaxation techniques), the tone stayed constant in pitch. IE: constant pressure and surface area resulted in a constant tone.

SUMMATION:
There are two influences when measuring GSR. The "small grain" factor is the skin's actual electro-dermal activity. The large grain factor is the physical contact (surface area/ pressure) between the galvanometers and the fingers. Only when the large grain factor is maintained at a constant, can any meaningful data be extrapolated from the small grain variable. It is my belief that not only can't the GSR2 gauge the small grain data, but its tonal pitch relies totally on the large grain factor.

It would be more accurate to state that the GSR2 expresses relaxation level by measuring the degree at which one's finger muscles relax as they're rested on top of the sensors. I could have just as easily held a rolled up magazine in my hand, and monitored how it begins to slip from my grip to determine how relaxed I've become.

The GSR 2 sales rep that refunded my money asked me to write the above, so that he could send it to the device's design team. The team was then supposed to send me a rebuttal. That was 3 months ago. I never heard anything back.

I like this product, but it is LOUD. There is no volume control, and my ears were ringing after using it. The plug is mini, so you cannot use regular stereo headphones with it (for example, with a volume control).

I will pop by the local Radio Shack and find a connector so that I can use this thing without going DEEEFF. XD

Actually, this is the fourth of a four-volume set of books written by Forrest Breyfogle III, with the first volume (The Integrated Enterprise Excellence System: An Enhanced, Unified Approach to Balanced Scorecards, Strategic Planning, and Business Improvement) providing an overview on the other three. Briefly, the IEE system is set of management techniques that when effectively implemented improve an organization's measurement and improvement system so that there is an increase in predictable and sustainable bottom-line benefits. The IEE system embeds a set of best practices derived from the strengths of past systems--applying structured metrics and a no nonsense roadmap to initiate process improvement and achieve substantial benefits. IEE takes Lean Six Sigma and the Balanced Scorecard to the next level in the pursuit of enterprise excellence.

In two earlier works that I read and then reviewed, Implementing Six Sigma, Second Edition: Smarter Solutions Using Statistical Methods (2003) and Managing Six Sigma: A Practical Guide to Understanding, Assessing, and Implementing the Strategy That Yields Bottom-Line Success (2000) co-authored with James Cupello and Becki Meadows, Breyfogle indicates that he is a pragmatic optimist in that he is determined to know what does and does not work (also why and why not) but he also believes that all human initiatives can be improved. He seems driven to share everything he has learned with as many people as possible. In my opinion, that is why his explanations are so specific and so thorough as well as anchored in real-world situations.

This book offers an excellent case in point. Apparently writing primarily for the individual who aspires to develop superior skills and competence in process improvement project management, Breyfogle organizes his material with meticulous care within seven Parts: Integrated Enterprise Management System and E-DMAIC (i.e. Enterprise Process Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control), Improvement Project Roadmap: Define Phase, Improvement Project Roadmap: Measure Phase, Improvement Project Roadmap: Analyze Phase, Improvement Project Roadmap: Improve Phase, Improvement Project Roadmap: Control Phase, and Appendix in which seven are provided (Infrastructure, Six Sigma Metrics Article, Creating Effective Presentations, P-DMAIC Execution Roadmap and Selected Drill Downs, P-DMAIC Execution Toll Gate Check Sheets, Implementation of Six Sigma (Breyfogle 2003) Supplemental Material, and Reference Tables) followed by a Glossary and References.

Breyfogle serves several functions in this as well as in each of the other three volumes in the IEE series. First, as a geographer, he is intimately familiar with the territory that his reader is about to explore. Also, as a cultural anthropologist, he fully understands the nature and extent of probably barriers, challenges, and (yes) perils that await once the process (i.e. "discovery journey") has begun. Moreover, as a cartographer and navigator, he can assist with formulating or revising all manner of "roadmaps" that will enable his reader (i.e. the "traveler") to proceed safely in a timely manner. Finally, as an adviser, he is well-qualified to provide counsel when (inevitably) decisions about adjustments, modifications, and even "detours" must be made.

In an article published last week (April 10, 2009), Breyfogle asserts that, relative to our financial crisis, "there seems to be an elephant in the room that is being avoided. It seems like much discussion about the financial crisis is focusing on greed and use of process improvement activities such tools as Lean and Six Sigma. There is also blog discussion by the Harvard Business Review (HBR) about how the business schools teachings are part of the problem. The real question that should be addressed is what should be done differently?" He acknowledges that there are several "elephant in the room" business management governance policies that nobody seems to openly talk about. For example, red--yellow-green scorecards that permit, indeed enable playing games with the numbers. Also, addition table of numbers, stacked bar charts, and pie charts are not leading to actions that truly fix problems and make long-lasting improvements. "Our business management system is broken and needs re-invention - NOW! What is needed is a business management system that integrates healthy policy creation with scorecards, strategic planning, business improvement efforts and control. A business management governance system that addresses these needs is the 9-step business system of the Integrated Enterprise Excellence (IEE)."

Of course, everything any decision-makers need to know and understand about this system is provided in the four-volume series. Breyfogle also invites his reader to check out the resources available at http://www.smartersolutions.com/blog/forrestbreyfogle/?p=711. Obviously, it remains for others to decide to what extent will guide and inform their own efforts to devise or reinvent their business management system but I do presume to suggest that it is worthy of their careful consideration.

Integrated Enterprise Excellence Volume III (IEEV3)is one volume of a three volume series - but as a standalone text, it is essentially a highly evolved sequel to the award-winning Implementing Six Sigma (ISS) books which were first published nearly a decade ago, in 1999. Integrated Enterprise Excellence Vol. III is one of Forrest's best books that must be read by anyone who is seriously thinking to implement Lean Six Sigma, and it is also an excellent reference book for those who jobs entail the start and sustaining continuous improvement initiatives. This books presents and describes in detail a road map of DMAIC process that, if it is followed and the tools presented used, will lead to success.
A Lean Six Sigma deployment Master Black Belt, Black Belt, or Green Belt can benefit immensely from a step-by-step Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control (P-DMAIC) project-execution-roadmap, where Lean and Six Sigma tools are truly integrated for effective problem solving. The P-DMAIC roadmap needs to truly integrate both statistical and non-statistical tools, going beyond traditional Lean Six Sigma techniques.

My mom spent 2 hours trying to get this to print blank checks. When she couldn't figure it out I spent an hour working on it and looking online for clues with absolutely no help. I had to reinstall it to even get the"Greatland driver", whatever that is, to work. Then checks would never print. Total waste of time.
Like previous reviewers, I could not get the product to print and I have a laser printer! It has been a total waste of time. Customer support is practically non-existent. I've yet to hear from my last inquiry after the first support reply didn't work.
I have used check writing programs without trouble for a number of years. After a recent upgrade to XP, I bought My Check Writer-Personal because the box said that it was compatible with XP. Loading was easy, designing was more time consuming than I had time for. But the checks would not PRINT. I tried using the help menu and finally had to break down and call the "fee-based" help desk. It took several calls and several techs to tell me that they didn't think it would ever work with an ink-jet printer. Apparently the program is designed to work ONLY with lazer printers and the box did not make that clear. Since the product is advertised as a Personal edition (as compared to their business edition), it seems that the company should have made it inkjet compatible, since most home consumers have these less expensive printers. My final advice for home users--don't waste your money on this product!!
I used the previous version of this product, but the old version is not compatible with NT, 2000 and XP so I upgraded. The software is exactly the same as the prior version except it now compatible with all versions of Windows. I could never get it to print anything though. One of the system requirements is a laser printer, but the prior version didn't force it, maybe this version does. The manufactuer's website offers no help, and actually the manufacturer claims that this version is still under development and has not been released yet, so I don't know what is being sold here.
I would give this software 0 stars if I could. I use Win2000 and orginally bought the software for Win95/98 after the sales guy told me it would work. It doesn't. Then I bought the correct software for my OS and I was able to install effortlessly. However, I cannot print blank checks or integrate it with Quickbooks2002. I tried the help pages, worthless. I am currently sitting on customer service for the past 20 minutes waiting to talk to someone, who knows when they'll answer? Oh yeah, if you need technical help, it's $... for the first 10 minutes and $.../minute after that. I just hope I can get my money back through their 30-day money back gaurantee. If I ever get to talk to anyone. DO NOT BUY THIS SOFTWARE!!! ...
