This is one of the best albums ever made, with one of America's finest. DMC has returned to the scene with a constructive, positive and thought provoking album for 2006.
This album boasts some top names from the likes of Sarah McLachan, Elliot Easton (from The New Cars) and Joey Kramer (Aerosmith) to Doug E Fresh, MS. Jade and Gary Douran (C.S.I) the list is endless with too many names to mention, even Rev. Run features on a track called 'Come2gether' an ode to the late Jam Master Jay. For his first solo album it's very impressive and knocks spots off other established rappers, with a solid mix of heavy beats and wild guitars thrashed with bold lyrics. Songs to listen out for include, 'Watchtower', 'Just Like Me' and 'Lovey Dovey'. My personal favourites list: 'Cold', 'Rockstar', and 'What's Wrong?'.
The impressive thing is this album crosses all genres from Rap to Rock and everything in between.
I'm in full support of this album and wish DMC worldwide success, one for all ages, young and old. Once again whether as RUN DMC and Jam Master Jay or just DMC that adidas wearing lyricists' is back to claim the throne.

Obsolete these days. Most hospitals use digital. Still, it is a great skill to have.
I'm a medical student. This one is not quite suitable but unfortunately I bought it based on the multiple positive feedbacks from the other buyers.

To measure BP by yourself, maybe this one is fine. But I do measure for other people, it's annoying -- the pad is attached to the wrap. Someone mentioned the case is good but that's not usable at all when you hooked everything together.

Don't buy this model if you want to help others.

Easy to use, as long as you've had a lesson from your doctor. Packing it back up is a bit of a pain, but otherwise, well worth the money
if you are a buying this then you are a professional or close to that and know exactly what to expect from this aparatus.

Newbies- try this one Omron HEM-432C instead.
It's a pretty good deal for the price. I have a hard time hearing my heartbeat "thump" thru the stethoscope so I had a friend try it. She said the sound was a bit faint but she was able to take the reading on the first try. That's the only drawback to this product that I can see. I'm sure that with more practice I will be able to do it myself so I am going to keep trying. It's simple to use and one person (yourself) can do it.
I think it's a great way monitor your blood pressure and to watch for significant changes so you can alert your doctor before it's too late.
Blood Pressure is the pressure that flowing blood exerts on the arteries. The heart contracts and relaxes, creating two levels of blood pressure. SYSTOLIC pressure is the highest level of blood pressure, it is the level of pressure when the heart contracts. DIASTOLIC pressure is the lowest level of blood pressure, it is the level of pressure when the heart relaxes. Blood pressure values are measured in millimeters of mercury (written as mmHg). For example, if your blood pressure is 126/76, the systolic pressure is 126 mmHg, and the diastolic pressure is 76 mmHg. High blood pressure, or hypertension, is a level of blood pressure consistently above normal. Most doctors consider a "normal" blood pressure reading for an adult to be 120/80, although it varies according to the individual. Standards for assessment of high or low blood pressure, without regard to age, have been established by the World Health Organization.
When blood pressure is measured in a doctor's office or clinical setting it may cause nervousness or stress in the patient which can produce inaccurate, higher blood pressure rates. This is commonly known as the "white coat" syndrome. Home measurement reduces the effect outside factors might have on blood pressure readings. Self-monitoring is a good way to keep track of your own blood pressure, but it is also very helpful to your doctor. It provides a comprehensive view of the blood pressure changes over a period of time and can help in evaluating the possibility of hypertension.
Though there are many digital blood pressure monitors, there are also many prople who prefer checking blood pressure manually. That's where the Lumiscope 100-021 fits the bill. (The best manual for a couple thinking of getting married)

So much of life should come with an owner's manual, but doesn't.

Jim's book comes awfully close to being an owner's manual for people who are thinking of marrying.

I run a service that matches counselors and therapists with couples and individuals. So I was eager to read Jim's book and hoping it would serve for many couples who may want to read rather than see someone, or want to supplement what their religious or secular counseling provides them.

I haven't seen anything quite like this before.

In my work I have several hundred clients, most of whom do some pre-marital counseling.

If couples just read this book, they wouldn't need anything else. That's how good the book is.

A great deal of thought that someone should give to getting married is really in asking the right questions. And those questions are clearly spelled out.

The first few chapters talk about how we need to ask honest questions about how we feel about our partner -- questions that are difficult to ask in the "altered state of being in love" as Jim puts it.

Then the book explores what most of us don't know to ask, and think about, with respect to children, and in-laws and a host of other issues that often cause problems in a marriage because we don't expect them.

The last part talks about specific issues and methods. This is worth the price of the book because a lot of problems can be avoided by good communication -- and Jim distills wisdom of how to communicate in easy clear language and exercises that couples can learn.

I don't expect anything will truly replace in-person counseling, but Jim's book is almost as good. Buy a copy today for yourself or for a friend or family member who is going to get married.

Up to 95 percent of all Americans get married at some point in their lives, and each year more than 2 million marriages take place in this nation. But the divorce rate as we enter the new millennium is over 50 percent. What is going wrong? I really wanted to like this book, but I could not. Weiner has nothing original to say. He has simply read a few popular science books -- good ones, such as How the Mind Works by Steven Pinker -- which you can and should read for yourself. Weiner gives what amounts to a book report, and a bad one at that.

First, Weiner uses childish language and technics, "Hello, hello wake up -- all this is going on in your mind this instant." I don't know about you, but I find that pretty lame.

Even worse, Weiner fails to understand basic concepts that many junior high students do understand. Get this quote:

"Do you have brown eyes? If both your parents have brown eyes, then you will have brown eyes, because the gene that creates brown eyes is dominant over the one that creates blue eyes."

Wrong! The fact that brown is dominant is why the child of two brown eyed parents can have blue eyes. The child of two blue eyed parents, however, will have blue eyes. Shame on Weiner, and shame on his editor for not catching that.

In short, this book is written at a junior high school level, but the author should not be teaching our kids!
I picked up this book at the local library because the title and brief description on the cover sounded interesting. I started reading the book and was amazed at how poorly written it was. Typos, bad logic, and a general tone of delivery that made it difficult to continue reading. Later, I skimmed the remainder of the book to make sure I wasn't jumping to conclusions. This book is very bad. I was curious to see what other readers thought of the book on Amazon -- I can only guess that some of these five star reviews are from the author's friends.
What is reality? Can we rely on our brains to tell us what reality is? What about our emotions? Do they come from the brain, some other part of the body, or even from something outside the body such as the soul or spirit? The subtitle of this book is "What your mind knows, but isn't telling you." I believe it would be as accurate to say the book is about what your mind knows but can't tell you because you wouldn't believe it.

The author David L. Weiner writes in a style that is easy to understand even when the things he writes about are not easily understandable. He covers such topics as the anatomy of the brain, how neurons work, the impact of general relativity, and the marvel of DNA. This is one of those books that has so many good pieces of information in it, that you sort of wish it would just on and on explaining everything.

I liked the book especially in those areas where Weiner puts things into perspective such as describing our DNA as a 6 foot long thread that is so thin you could only see it with a scanning electron microscope. Yet contained in that small thread is the whole blueprint of our minds, bodies, and very existence. The difference between any two humans expressed as a percentage of this DNA is so small as to be meaningless even though we spend our entire lives proving to ourselves and others that we are different. Sometimes proving entails the expression of the best in art, music, science, or even politics while at other times that proving entails torture, killing, war, and enslavement.

Another section I found fascinating dealt with religions of the world. Quoting from the World Christian Encyclopedia: A Comparative Survey of Churches and Religions in the Modern World, published by the Oxford University Press, Weiner reports that "there are at least 10,000 distinct and different religions across the world, of which 270 have more than 500,000 adherents." And the single largest component of religion is genetics - at least 99.99% of the time you inherit your religion from your parents. In the United States where religion is considered more changeable than in many parts of the world, Weiner states that fewer than 2% convert from one religion to another in any year. I would venture that that is much to high of an estimate.

Although Reality Check won't give you all the answers to life's questions, it will provide you with several hours of interesting reading and dozens of thought provoking questions.

Reality Check by David L. Weiner is by far one of the better books I have read on human psychology. After working in Rehabilitation and Corrections for a number of years, I know what a psychopath is. David L. Weiner tells it like it really is. This book is an excellent read for anyone interested in learning what makes people become what they are. I am confident that you will not be disappointed.

Very insightful, it was most of the information I was looking for. Thought provoking and easy to not technical like reading a car manual, I understood it and enjoyed.
I recommend his other books as well, even though I just stated I find the insightful as well; Power Freaks and Battling the Inner Dummy

I had used an old copy of VersaCheck that I had bought in the late 90's-- hey it worked-- until I had to do a reinstall after my hard drive croaked and found that I no longer had the registration number. Having found the VersaCheck user interface a bit clunky, I decided to look for alteratives and settled on this.

Set up was simple, interface with our accounting software was good. The only thing I would seriously suggest is that the company should get an artist to do some good looking clip art. The clip art that ships with it looks generic and it might as well not be added because it detracts from the overall package.

If you want to do value added with these things you should make sure that it does add value and doesn't make people shudder instead.

This isn't a "False Fly" boxer. It's a NO FLY boxer. "False Fly" people means "No Buttons" but there IS supposed to be a fly.

These cost the same, but aren't your quality "Brooke Brothers" flannels. Compared to every other brand of flannel boxers I've bought these, I got Mediums, are tight in the buns. So I guess you'd say they run a bit "small"
