(Good product) 『The mask itself is very good. Nice and soft, easy to use; however, the fit would be better if the bottom was shortened. As it is, it presses uncomfortably on area between neck and chin. To remedy this I've cut off about a half inch along the bottom. Because it fits tightly against my neck/chin area, I don't think this lets in any particulate matter. It seems to be very effective.』
(Not good for H1N1, good for other things) 『We had these in case one of us got sick with H1N1 and we had to prevent the other one from getting sick. Well, I got the flu. We bought these because of the "easy to wear for long periods of time" claim. However, we didn't realize that the "valve" was actually a flap that opens when you exhale. Not exactly effective in preventing my germs from getting out in the open when I cough. I should have thought harder about what a "valve" meant, but I was just going off the comfortablility claims rather than what that actually meant. I believe they added the "Sanding" description sometime after I bought it last spring.
I could understand how they would work well in wood working, but in the virus area, get a traditional N95 without the valve.』
(Foggy Glasses Solution) 『I've tried several other models including 3Ms model 8210 and had problems with them fogging up my glasses. These reduce the fogging by 90% or more. Also more comfortable than other respirators that I have tried.』
(Comfortable, effective respirator) 『I use these mostly for woodworking, mainly while sanding, but also while sweeping or blowing out the garage. The valve is a big upgrade from the old valveless respirators as it provides a way to exhale without fogging your glasses. The fit is good. The respirator is easy to put on and take off; elastic bands keep it on tightly without being overly tight, at least on me; I have not had any problem getting a good fit or seal. The part over the bridge of the nose does interfere with my glasses resting where they should, but I haven't yet found a respirator that doesn't. I'm not sure the blue outer surface does anything significant. Even if the blue webbing is completely "anti-microbial," how does that keep microbes from flourishing in the other 99.99% of the wick?
The dewpoint [outside] was in the upper 30s, my apartment is about 700 sq. feet, and my humidifier was coming on almost constantly. It should have been coasting along (with the fan on Low) instead of stressing. I took out the old filter, put in one of these, and with the same dewpoint, the humidifier comes on for much less time, saving electricity and my patience.
Now, I'm ready for 0 Degree dewpoints -- Bring it on.
I recommend using a mineral-dissolving Water Treatment so your wick lasts for 6 months instead of 4 weeks. I have soft water, but use a little squirt of Treatment every time I add a couple of gallons of water, regardless. I think it helps extend the wicks' life.
Lose one star: * for not being 100% antimicrobial but including marketing jargon that implies that it is * for not lasting forever, and * for costing too much.』
(A great replacement filter) 『These replacement filters are great. They have a handle built in to keep your hands dry when removing from humidifier. The Air Washing layer is very good at catching dirt and pet hair that would get into the evaporation wick and shorten the life of the filter. This is well put together so that it stays upright even when it is wet instead of collapsing like other filters do.』

(Monthly Cost Not Anticipated) 『I have mixed feeling about this product. The filter works well but does not last long. Mildew builds up quickly. I have to remove it everyday and take it outside so that it can air-out to perserve a longer life span. I us it everry night in the Honeywell 1012. This system has reduce the number of sinus headaches I get--that's the positive benefit. The negative point is that each filter cost over $9 dollars and only last approximately a month if you leave it in continuously--Approximately $120 a year. I called Honeywell to find out if there was a replacement filter that did not require changing. Unfortunately, No.』

I can tell you when you NEED to replace the filter. It will be humming right along, then one day, you think, "My, I haven't filled the reservoirs in quite some time..." (Headaches in check!) 『i had read that these types (memory foam) of pillows could be very helpful for headache sufferers. without understanding too much of the science behind that claim, i landed here and purchased the Sleep Better Iso-Cool Contour Memory Foam Pillow.
at first, when i received the pillow, it was VERY smelly. i'm not sure what that was...chemicals? the plastic wrapping it was in? someone else's review had warned me about that, so it wasn't unexpected, but WOW-wee! i aired it out, as was suggested. after a week of that, i started using it.
it took about a week or so of steady usage for me to start feeling the benefits of using. i started to notice that wasn't waking up with headaches any more--at all. i used to wake up with a headache a few times a week. i have had the pillow now for 2 months, and i'm still liking it a lot.
it's a little funny if you roll on your stomach and you want to hug it--but i don't do that very often. this pillow is definitely for on-the-side sleepers, and back sleepers which i do most of the time.
lastly, regarding the coolness, i just see it as a perk. it's not as cool as the Chillow(tm), but it doesn't get ridiculously hot like most regular pillows do, so i suppose there is value in that.

If you like 60's style rock and blues with an emphasis on the rock, you will enjoy this cd. This is my first Ben Harper cd since his first 2, and let me tell you, he has come a LONG way. (Nothing to Get Excited About) 『Unfortunately, nothing shimmers or shines about this album. Its quite soulless and boring. You'd expect Harper to create something with a really cool groove to it, but this album fall, sadly, flat. (Plugged in and rocking hard) 『The last we saw from Ben Harper was the 2007 "Lifeline" album with his Innocent Criminals band. That album was as introspective and acoustic as anything Ben Harper had ever done. With that bug seemingly now out of his system, Ben decided the moment was right to take time-out from the Innocents Criminals and instead he assembled a new band simply called Relentless7.
The moment that the new album "White Lies for Dark Times" (11 tracks; 47 min.) opens with "Number With No Name", you know this is going to be a very different affair from "Lifeline". Indeed the sound is heavy, even bluesey. Comparisons with the Cream immediately came to mind, check out "Up To You Know", but also Jimi Hendrix. "Shimmer&Shine" is an up-tempo rocker. The first half of the album closes with two other hard-charging tunes: "Lay There&Hate Me" (with the line "Never trust a woman/Who loves the blues", ha!) and "Why Must You Always Dress In Black". Wow, talk about a fantastic first half. "Skin Thin" kicks off the second half of the album in a decidely more relaxed fashion. In fact, there is only one more heavy track, namely "Keep it Together". The closer "Faithfully Remain" is a great way to round out this collection.
As much as I liked "Lifeline" for what that was, I really really like this album. I think Ben Harper benefitted tremendously from assembling a new backing band, as it seems to have energized him. Ben's songwriting has never been better in my opinion. I've seen Ben on tour with the Criminal Innocents, and can't wait to see him at some point on stage with Relentless7.』
(The Very Thing that Drives You Can Drive You Insane) 『For his tenth studio album, Ben Harper has traded his normal backing band the Innocent Criminals for a new one the Relentless7, but make no doubt, White Lies for Dark Times still sounds like a Ben Harper album. What the Relentless7 adds can be heard most on the rock songs that sound bluesier and closer to a garage band, the three musicians come from Texas, sound than the more polished Innocent Criminal sound.
That influence can be heard of the drums and fuzz first single Shimmer&Shine and the album opener Number with No Name which is a slide guitar from down on the bayou that takes a pit stop in Seattle. The spacey yet raw Up to You Now is reminiscent of something off of Mirror ball which famously saw Neil Young replaced for the album Pearl Jam with Crazy Horse. Lay There&Hate Me features an opening piano groove and bassline that borders on disco with some "ooh's" that could have been lifted from a Rolling Stones record yet mix together perfectly. While Why Must You Always Dress in Black sounds like something from the Jimi Hendrix catalogue. Keep it Together (So I Can Fall Apart) starts out that way until it breaks down into kind of jam band type groove.
The slower songs sound more like vintage Harper for better or worse. Skin Thin sounds like it has appeared already on his previous nine albums with just a changed lyric or two. On the flip side of the coin is Fly One Time that just builds and builds with a driving groove to the point where Ben's voice starts to crack. Hopefully the rejuvenation from the Relentless7 keeps Ben Harper putting out listenable music for another ten albums.』 『2009 release, the ninth studio album from acclaimed singer/songwriter and Grammy Award-winner Ben Harper. It's basically Vanilla Ice trying to be a neon-clad James Dean with fantastic pickup lines such as, "Drop that zero and get with a hero." Do I really need to say anything about that one? Didn't think so.
My favorite scene of the movie would probably be the one where he magically jumps his motorcycle over a fence without a ramp. Who needs physics? Not Ice.
So if you're bored (and preferably drunk and/or high), pop this cheesefest in your old VCR.』

Having been kicked out of the army for literally skull-******* a cadet, (which we are shown in ghastly up-close detail in a sepia-tinged flashback)Ice is a private investigator who starts noticing weird signs appearing in shops in the neighborhood. After a trip to the elementary school library next to his office to look the writing up, he realizes that, yes, his old nemeses the Viet Cong are back and after his hood. Using his neon-yellow, talking motorcycle from the future (voiced by the sonorous and gentle Art Garfunkle) Ice eventually uncovers that the VC are infecting LA's gang-ridden slums with an ultra-powerful form of crack known as Ice-9. Determined to end the VC's reign of terror and win back America's honor after the left-wing inflicted defeat of Viet Nam, Ice and Garfunklebike beat down legions of VC thugs until finally reaching the gang's resurrected zombie leader, Ho Chi Minh (look for a young Jet Li in the role!), and defeating him in an epic battle royale with a little help from WWF fave Rowdy Roddy Piper. The movie ends with Ice and Garfunklebike riding into the sunset discussing name changes since his name is, like, now associated with a deadly form of crack. Though mustering little box-office support upon its release, "Cool as Ice" has since been consistently ranked highly on the AFL's list of 100 Greatest American Films.
FUN FACT: On his death bed Stanley Kubrick expressed regret that he had allowed this gem to slip through his fingers, suggesting that if he had helmed it as originally planned that it would have been ranked above, instead of below "Citizen Kane."』
(Get with a hero) 『With a script from the dream team of Akira Kourisawia and Stanley Kubrick, the pressure was all on the shoulders of director David Kellog. Coming through like a bull in a china shop, Kellog delivers a modern answer to Bergman's "Seventh Seal" that not only uppes the ante, but says, "I'm all in."

With it's leather stiched cries of passion it is reminicent of a classically trained Adler student, it delivers a tour de force in it's delivery of lines like "Sex me up!" ""Down by law" "and "Faith is a torment. It is like loving someone who is out there in the darkness but never appears, no matter how loudly you call."
"Cool As Ice" also employs a number from Pulp Fiction, using the book of Leviticus 3:14 to drop wisdom on us with the quote "Drop that zero and get with the hero."
Method to the end, Ice still resides in the Southern California community that this harrowing documentary was shot in, battling injustice and intolerance with his mighty yellow motorcycle.

These little guys fit real nice in your hand and dear god they are bright for their size. Their small size and the fact that they take cheap regular double AA batteries, which with hours of use I have yet to replace them. I'm going to buy some more for sure, for my girlfriends car kit and several other people. Buy it and you'll be as happy as I am.』

Mine have still not been replaced since purchasing them. Cons:- Only problem i found was that the filter doesnt fit the humidifier perfectly. [To the first time users - this filter replaces the existing cap of the humidifier tank]. I own the Crane Penguin humidifier and the tank sits on the base perfectly with the original cap. But with the filter (even after securing it tightly to the tank) the tank doesn't sit perfectly on to its base...it remains a bit raised (due to the imperfection of the filter) and causes the water vapors to leak thru the sides...not a big deal though. And I am not sure whether it's a problem with the particular piece i bought.』

(FM transmitter brodacast only on the right.) 『I just got this unit. The sticker on the remote control is just that....a sticker. It means absolutely nothing and does nothing. There is no playlists, browse, extras, setting, or backlight. It's like something you'd see on a childs toy to simulate the real thing. The FM transmitter is only broadcasting on the right channel. I tried it in a different vehicle with the same results, just the right side. You have to hold the remote almost directly in front of the transmitter to make it work.
It does control volume, skip, fast forward, rewind, and change the frequency on the transmitter. You'll see some reviews on here that state the sound is better if you disconnect the ipod connector, just using the battery in the ipod. The remote then stops working as THAT's how it controls the ipod.
With the headphone jack plugged into the bottom of the ipod, the fit in the seat is not very good.
I'm not sure if I trust this thing to charge my Ipod Touch battery.

This time the new one lasted maybe 10 hours on the first day and also died. We followed all the instructions and did not abuse it in any way and it was definitely very nice - WHILE it worked. So I am working on reading some parenting books. This was a good one. I am not really given to yelling much, must confess I am not perfect though in this area. But this book is based on Friedman's foundations, which I am a huge fan of. The book was good at helping you be a non-anxious presence for the child and allowing the child to develop into a mature adult. I did wish there was some more practical advice. The theory was excellent, but I need sometimes a step one and step two if she or he does this. It was a good foundational book though. Anyway, it is worth the read.』

He keeps encouraging the reader / listener to stay connected with his / her own emotions. So you are far less likely to to act instead of reacting. You stay connected to yourself AND your kids. The author provides various examples of how his concept works. The stories he recalls refer to kids from toddler to teenager.

(Stay Calm and Don't Buy This) 『I have read dozens of parenting books. This one is just okay. The author pretty much strokes himself throughout the book. His big story about how he lost his patience at a pancake house had me saying "that's the worst you've got?" His back patting story about how he kept his calm while his two year old climbed up the outer side of a flight of stairs had me saying "oh please". And as my six year old is reaching for the garbage disposal with my hands in the sink I am supposed to "take a breath" before I react by calmly saying "honey don't grind mommy's fingers". The author says our kids are not responsible for their parents feelings. On this we agree. We need to meet our own needs and not expect our children to do this. But, he makes it sound like all you have to do is "choose" to stay calm. No offense but has the author ever parented while pregnant? sleep deprived? nursing? How about while unemployed, house hunting, looking for a decent school or dealing with a terminal illness in the family? I got a good one, has the author parented while going through menopause? I dare him to try to stay warm and fuzzy with that. Give me the pancake house scenario any day. I guess when I was nine months pregnant and my three year old took off her muddy shoes and smeared the mud all over the inside of our new...not yet even made one payment on...van, I should have taken a deep breath, handed a thirty-six month old a rag and said "please clean this all up before mommy goes into labor." I didn't. I "choose" to blow my hormonal top and put her in time out and I suppose she felt responsible for me getting angry...something the author discourages. Does not ruining the interior of a $36,000 vehicle give the parent a right to lose their cool? The author seems to think what works for him, will work for all. Anyone who has more than one child knows that what works for one, almost never works for all. After nine years of parenting three "high spirited" children, the best help I have ever gotten has been informally, on the playground, in the stores, on the block.
