『This is my second brace of this type. Gives good support. Machine washable. I wouldn't go completely by shoe size when purchasing. The volume around your ankle needs to be part of the equation. I wear 10 2A shoes and found that the XS brace fits my ankle the best - as I have really low volume feet/ ankles.』

To me it seems a mild way to brace up ankle and prevent rollovers--- Next time i would want something with a much tighter wrap around the ankle.』

『As other reviewer said, this is slim enough to fit into shoes. It takes a bit of time putting it on and taking it off as the fit is VERY tight; tight enough that you need to remove laces from top 3 holes to take it off.

However, once you put it on, you feel your ankle is well-supported and you can concentrate on whatever the sports you are doing. This brace uses dual supporting methods: laces and "figure eight" strap. The instruction says to put the laces up first and then adjust the strap. Well, when you put the laces up, it creates a tight fit which makes it difficult to adjust the strap. What I do is to adjust the strap first, then finish up by tighting the laces up.

Overall I am happy with the product. If you do sports with a lot of rapid lateral movements (like soccer), this is a very good product. However, if you are looking for some support for other less intensive sports, this may be a bit too much.』

(Cup Size Runs a Little Small)
『I normally wear a 38D so I purchased this bra in that size. I found that the cup size was on the small size. I could have used a 38DD in this one. I still wear it and I do love it, but wish I had purchased a size larger cup size. I love the feeling of the fabric. It is a little pricey though.』

『This is a truly amazing bra! I had heard so much about Wacoal bras, but was concerned about the price. Then after the "umpteenth" time of finding a bra that I liked and having the bra go out of style production, I decided to try one. I did it through the Wacoal site, not even trying it on...but it is amazing!! Now, I would buy no other bra...so I hope this one continues to be made! The four hook closure gives so much support, the straps are comfortable, and the cups do not pucker or gape in any way. I haven't tried it as a sports bra yet, because it is still my "good bra". I purchased two others through Amazon so that I would have plenty on hand. The price is definitely worth it!』

『I always avoided Walcoal bras because of their price and I was never a fan of how they looked. I was fitted with one during a bra sizing at Macy's and I'll never ever even consider buying a different brand bra. I ended up purchasing the #85185 style and I love it, though I would consider other styles from Wacoal.

The 85185 doesn't ride up on my back, it minimizes without giving you side boobs or the uniboob, it sits firmly in place while smoothing the tissue on your sides and back (i.e. my shirts ride smoothly on top of the bra and it doesn't look like I've got an inordinate amount of back fat the bra is digging into), it's supportive without being constrictive and it looks sexy even when I'm wearing a lower cut shirt.

I used to wear underwire sports bras daily because regular bras just weren't giving me enough support. I don't have to do that any more with this bra. I've even worn it during low to moderate impact exercise and it's done it's job.

Another great feature is that it minimizes really well, while still keeping a flattering shape. I can now wear shirts that fit my WHOLE torso, instead of having to find shirts that fit my chest.』

(Real seamless coverage for large sizes)
『I am a 44DDD, and this is the first seamless bra I have found that
1. actually doesn't gap
2. makes it look like I have breasts, NOT a "rack" of 1 breast
3. the straps are thin but supportive and back is the same way
4. tight clothes look great, and it doesn't peek out of tops

The only problem I had with this was that after about 70 wearings, the wire came out of one cup. (This is a common problem with me, so maybe it is something that I am doing?)

Apparently this is because they could fall out and be swallowed by young children. 『My son recently chose this toy. He had an easy time putting it together, though the treads were difficult. One thing I note is this is a very light model, I would almost say flimsy. It has very few Lego/Technic pieces, with a huge percent of of the 216 piece count is the individual pieces of tread. There really wasn't that much to build. It also doesn't lend itself to piece scavenging as much of some of the other kits do, e.g. there are no wing pieces.

That said your Star Wars obsessed Lego fan will think its great. Even if you might think its not the best value kit out there.』

(Wonderful book for artists to learn anatomy)
『As a teenager, I bought this book to help me draw people better. Learning body and head proportions is key to drawing more realistic-looking people, and this book can help you along. Peck's illustrations show you different ways to look at the human body, sometimes using blocks, spheres, and other objects to represent how a certain muscle group works or looks to help you better understand how it should be drawn. He covers everything from musculoskeletal structure to facial expressions, emotions, and photos of faces from around the world. And for those who like to warm up their skills by sketching people but have no model to use, there are several human model pictures towards the back of the book to help you out. Before I took college courses and had real models to work with, I used these photos to do my many quick pencil or charcoal sketches as a warm-up for drawing. Having this book before those courses definitely helped me draw better and faster than some of the others who were learning to draw people for the first time. I have referenced it several times since then when drawing or painting people to make sure I'm getting the right idea of the muscle structure. I have used other books for learning to draw people that was more step-by-step, but this book has a lot of different detail other books don't have.
And I was surprised to find out it was from the 50's when I looked it up here on Amazon, since it doesn't really appear that way at all.』

『Virtually Maria (Virtual Trilogy)

I came across this book when I was looking for reference material to illustrate my Captain Cockle childrens' books and have kept it near my drawing board ever since.

What I like about it is that it gives a very wide range of material in terms of expressions, angles and different ages that I have not come across in any other book of its type. It also uniquely shows some examples of how some of the photos have been turned into caricatures or cartoons (both of humans and animals) that give an interesting insight into how they might be used.

My only criticism (which I see I share with a few other reviewers) is that it is difficult to lay this book down on a drawing table without it flipping shut again due to its paperback format. Spiral binding would have been better, but that's a small price to pay for such a valuable resource. I look forward to a companion manual perhaps on figures, hands or activities.』

『Got this for my daughter, age 9, who thinks she hates math. She loves this book! Bright, colorful, full of great pictures, wacky facts, and fun puzzles, this book is great for any age. Highly recommended!』

(Wow! A book that can change lives...but be prepared to help kids interpret the puzzles)
『Here's a rare find: A lively, colorful, intellectual book about math for kids (or indeed anyone who can do basic arithmetic).

Author Johnny Ball begins at the beginning, with a review of the many ways that different cultures reckon numbers. Base ten? How about base 20 (in cultures where people count on their fingers AND toes)?

Kids also get to see how different systems for writing numbers--from Egypt to Rome to India to the Mayan empire--developed. And Ball presents all sorts of intriguing topics, including pi, magic squares, primes, geometry, topology, logic, and fractals.

The book is bursting with helpful illustrations and peppered with questions, thought problems, cool math shortcuts, and activities. For example, the reader learns how to prove that a triangle's angles add up to 180 degrees (by drawing a triangle on paper, tearing out each corner, and then fitting them together along a straight line).

Negatives? The explanations aren't always satisfying, as when Ball explains why numbers from the Fibonacci sequence (i.e.,...5, 8, 13, 21, 35...) turn up in nature so often. ("...they provide the best way for packing seeds, petals, or leaves in a limited space without large gaps or awkward overlaps.")

But I don't really see this as a shortcoming. The book is designed to be a brief introduction, and Ball's presentation should inspire the curious reader to track down more information.

My more important complaints:

(1) Some of the "brain teasers" are really just smart aleck riddles about how we interpret everyday speech--e.g., "How many birthdays does the average man have?" (Answer: One) or "How is it possible to push a large doughnut through a cup handle?" (Answer: Poke your finger through the handle and give it a push!") "Solving" such riddles depends on ambiguities of language, not logic or math. It's a bit jarring (and perhaps even confusing) to mix these with real math puzzles.

(2) Some of the instructions for the brain teasers are vague and this might frustrate kids and/or make them conclude that they don't "get" math. Example: Kids are given a map and asked how many routes are possible between two points. But the "correct" answer seems to assume that we're talking about efficient routes only--not every conceivable route.

These aren't huge problems, and it's likely that the more sophisticated, confident reader can cope with them. But I think it's important to be aware of them so you can reassure and help your child if she gets stuck or confused. Kids should also know that some of the puzzles are just darned tough. And at least one of them involves algebra ("Among the camels and ostriches there are 60 eyes and 86 feet. How many of each kind of animal are there?")

The disclaimers aside, this is an outstanding, unusual, fun, book that stimulates curiosity and "math play." It's the sort of book that could change lives--steering smart kids into the "math track" and the career options that go with it. Thank you, Johnny Ball!

My intent was to be able to teach my 8-year-old, 3rd grade daughter some cool principles, tricks, games for math so she could improve. She's (surprisingly, right) not interested in the book really. I think she's just a little bit too young for it. But I loved the book. When we work over the summer, I will do a little bit at a time with her: Prime Numbers lesson, history of number systems, etc. Little chunks should help improve her understanding and I think ALL kids should be exposed to the lessons in this book early.』

『This is a really great Ben 10 toy. What a cool bad guy! My four year old loves pointing out all the different body parts and telling me which aliens they come from. The tail and the wings do come off, so depending on your child's play habits, you might spend a lot of time searching for missing pieces. Do yourself a favor and buy it at Target for under $[...].』

Here are a few:



1. It has a brilliantly gruesome design.

Like all the figures in this line, Kevin has a "gross" feature. His is a pumping heart. It has nothing to do with what goes on in the show, but it is a very quirky and cool feature for an action figure to have. Plus, you can reanact the attic scene of the Haunted Mansion with it .



2. He's durable!

I have carried this thing around in bags, backpacks, suitcases...you name it...and he always gets fit back together. Downside...his wings and tail come off easier than his arms...so be careful not to lose them!



3. His Special Feature

His Arms come off. That's what he does....I guess you are supposed to arrange them weird but it doesn't really work because the hands are sculpted to fit the canon way...it is still a bizarre feature.



4. Now your Alien Heroes have someone to beat up on who isn't 4'' tall

Somehow beating up a bad guy who is a lot smaller than the good guy just doens't have the same feel. Now there's a properly sized baddie to battle.』

(great for toddlers just learning)
『when ordering it would have helped to know that ice skates and hockey skates are about a size to a size and a half bigger than a shoe size. Double socks dont really help. These are fairly inexpensive and are not extremely high quality, so dont expect it, the runner is more alluminum and does give. They definately suit the purpose for my 3 year old trying to skate with the big boys.』

『4 and a half stars. On the first listen, DF sounded pretty bland and boring. However, after a few more spins it kinda grew on me. It's definitely better than their previous efforts. DF continues to evolve the sound on their previous releases, a blend of black and death metal with some keyboard/synth thrown in for melody. But this time around its better executed. No weak songs except for the cover song, which sucked. Stop the cover songs Graveworm.

Figure Four are a Christian band too but compared to some of the other secular tuff guy hardcore bands these guys stand there grounds. This album is great from the beginning to the end. If your in to bands like Untill the End, hatebreed,Buried Alive then you should consider buying this album. Figure four are one of the best bands on Face down records and I would say this is there best stuff to date.』

(A whole lotta wax)
『This movie is not an exact remake of Mystery Of The Wax Museum (1933) and House Of Wax (1953). It is a movie that has a different but mildly similar story. Whereas the 1933 and 1953 movies took place in a big city, this 2005 movie takes place in a very small and remote town in Louisiana. There ARE some similarities to the 1933 and 1953 flicks, but the similarities are loose at best. I have to wonder why they titled the movie House Of Wax, which is the same title as the 1953 movie. Maybe it was name recognition to get people in the door at the movie theater.

To me, this movie is a cross between The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and the Friday The 13th movies. Right from the beginning of the movie it had The Texas Chainsaw Massacre feel to it, then the Friday The 13th feel kicked in a short time later. Much like these movies (and so many slasher horror movies including Halloween), House Of Wax features a group of teenagers or twenty-somethings who are partying and just trying to have a good time, whether its at a campground, a neighborhood, or wherever. Then somewhere along the way they run into trouble and a killer stalks them. In this movie, six college friends have their car break down in a remote area. They had been on their way to a football game. They discover a small town when they are looking for help. On the way to this small town, two of them catch a ride with a creepy, mentally sick stranger. I have no clue why these people would trust a creepy stranger like the one in this movie, or any stranger. You gotta see him to know what I'm talking about. In town there is a museum called House Of Wax. This building is literally made of wax - the walls, floors, everything. Inside are wax mannequins. To sum up the plot, the kids run into not one but two wax sculpting killers who are brothers. There is lots of blood and gore. The goal of the killers is to make wax sculptures out of the captured kids (much like in the 1933 and 1953 movies). The kids try desperately to escape the museum and the town unscathed. Four of the kids are killed off. The ending is over-the-top and memorable. This movie has lots of good special effects and props.

This movie stars the attractive Elisha Cuthbert, Chad Michael Murray, Brian Van Holt, Paris Hilton, Jared Padalecki, Jon Abrahams, and Robert Ri'Chard. The musical score by John Ottman is pretty good. There are a couple of "current" type of heavy rock songs in this movie that will someday date this movie.

Paris Hilton has a lesser role in this movie compared to some of the other actors. In my opinion, she did a pretty good job acting. I must say I'm surprised to see the overall rating of this movie at 3 1/2 stars after 266 reviews. I thought it would be higher. After reading a lot of the lower rated reviews it is clear that a lot of people dislike Paris Hilton. It goes beyond acting ability, which some people question, while others praise it. I think a lot of it has to do with pure jealousy, unfortunately. She's young, rich, and famous. Again, she doesn't have a huge role in this movie. But she's in this movie, bottom line, and a lot of people don't like that. She probably was put in to sell movie tickets and give the movie a boost. Personally, I forget about who she is and judge her acting ability and the character she played, which I thought passed the test. In real life she comes across as a stereotypical blonde bimbo. People can't see past that. It doesn't help that in this movie she has a striptease scene that really sticks out like a sore thumb compared to what the other actors are doing. It almost felt to me like her striptease scene was put in the movie as a sort of self-promotion. Back in 2005 she was the hottest name out there and a tabloid story every day it seemed (and still pretty much is). I've read lots of reviews where people love the fact and are gleeful that she was killed off in this movie. Some of it could be because they disliked the character she played, but some of it could be just because she's Paris Hilton.

This DVD comes with many extras, including a B-Roll and Bloopers Video Cast Commentary, an on location segment about the design of the House Of Wax, the visual effects, an alternate opening, a gag reel, and the theatrical trailer.

If you want to see a unique and creepy horror movie thriller, then I recommend this movie. This movie is better than I thought it would be. You might agree with me. And keep an open mind when it comes to Paris Hilton.』

Yeah it would suck to have a pole thrown through your head but something about it was good. Paris had amazingly good acting, even my step-mom was taken by surprise. I've been a fan of Paris Hilton since day 1 and I own everything she has came out with. My room is decked with Paris Hilton stuff. Overall, the movie was good, kind of gross at parts but you'll enjoy it!!』

『House of Wax certainly had an original idea. Even though there was already a Wax movie (made over 50 years ago) this movie was still very entertaining. It had enough gore and twistedness to make it interesting. Even though I like horror movies, some parts of this movie were hard for me to look at (a good mark of a horror movie)

I didn't understand why the wax couldn't simply have peeled off Wade's skin instead of taking his skin along with it. Poor guy, he deserved better.

There were a few things about the movie that just didn't work. The scene where Paris Hilton was stripping for her boyfriend went on too long - it was clearly fanservice so boys could ogle her - but she did a decent job trying to fight Vincent off. I found the idea of a literal house of wax to be silly. Over time the floors would sag, the walls would bow, etc. (that's a lot of wax!) And the very ending with the revelation of a third child was just cheesy. I suppose it meant we can look forward to a sequel of this...

Overall a decent horror movie, most of it was good and creepy and I would have given it a higher rating if not for the bad things that I pointed out.』

The R-rated result is fairly gruesome and, though no one ever quite looks frightened enough, Collet-Serra knows his way around a jolting suspense sequence or two. Cuthbert and an unintentionally funny Murray (striking ludicrous poses as some kind of real toughie) act more like angry ex-lovers than the fraternal twins they're supposed to be; Hilton acts bored while her real-life video scandal is exploited for ironic kicks; and the film heads shamelessly over-the-top with each new twist. 『There's nothing I can say positive about this movie that the other reviews haven't. From 'He's only 14!' to the last frame of Dewey clutching his chest, this movie rocks. The comedy is crazy in parts, yet subtle in others.

The one thing that really stood out at me, is the number of running jokes in this movie. Dewey's wife says he'll fail no matter how much he accomplishes, he tries each new drug in the bathroom, his music changes after each new drug, he's never home but has dozens of kids, he busts up bathrooms each time he gets peed off, his dad keeps saying the wrong kid died, he mispronounces the first two drug names 'reefers' and 'cok caine', and there's another one or two I found but can't think of.

This is a great movie, and the best comedy I've seen in years.』

『Warning, mild spoilers ahead! (Very mild, don't think they will spoil anything)

I bought this (or rather the bilingual Japanese version) from Amazon.co.jp, which is why it doesn't list me as having purchased it through Amazon.com. I bought this in the hopes that I could share it with students in a university Media class that I teach. I didn't have much in the way of expectations, mainly because I knew next to nothing about it before buying it (I don't know if it was even released theatrically here), but I found that I really liked this movie. I never thought I would like a film where not 1, but 2 people get halved with machetes -- I never, ever, ever, ever, never, never thought I would say that. But there you go, never ever say never.

What is this movie? A parody of Walk the Line? A genre by genre comedic dance of the history of American popular music? A tour de force for John C. Reilly? I think it is a bit of all of these things. I think one of the most important things about this film is that it shows that Reilly is much, much more than a sidekick for Will Ferrell. He is a genuine talent. I loved the fact that after the elementary school aged Dewey Cox, it is always Reilly, with no intermediate stage actors, playing the character. Somehow I found it really funny when the 6 foot 4 , 40 something Reilly, was playing 14 year old Cox asking his mom not to embarrass him in front of his friends.

Much like Jerry Lee Lewis, Cox gets a twelve year old girlfriend, but she is played by a 30 something year old actress. Utterly absurd (but not in the derogatory sense). Like many good movies, the supporting cast makes a big difference. Tim Meadows, SNL alum (the Ladies Man) was very good as the drummer who was with Cox since the beginning of his career, and was his gateway into spiraling decline by enabling his drug use, running the gambit as enabler from pot in the 50s, to Viagra in the modern day. How about Harold Ramis (I didn't recognize him until his 2nd or 3rd appearance) as a Hasidic record producer, or David Krumolz (Charlie from Numb3rs) as long time agent. Jack Black as Paul McCartney? Frank Muniz (Malcolm, form Malcolm in the Middle) as Buddy Holiday? This film was fun from a "Who the hell is that!?!?" name that cameo, perspective. --Please don't complain that Jack Black has almost no physical resemblance to Paul McCartney, that and his accent is spoofalicious, it is part of the gag.

Speaking of which, one of the cool things about this film was its effective use of the running gag. It is so easy to overuse or misuse such things, but from Meadows continuous admonition of "You don't want any of this!", just before he pulls Cox into a new form of drug abuse, to Cox's tendency to tear sinks out of bathroom walls as a metaphor for despair, to his father's horrible mantra, "The wrong son died!", somehow they seemed to play all these jokes pretty well. This film was all about hyperbole. It really seemed to capture so much of American music, and troubled musicians, by showing intentionally exaggerated to the breaking point versions of different character types.

I can't understand the 1 star reviews given to this film, but I guess you can't argue taste, perhaps especially so in terms of humor. Either you get it or you don't. I think I got it. His wife, 13 or 14 years old at the time, already with a several kids (though remember, the actress is in her 30s), using as her telephone sign off, "I love you, you're going to fail!," or Cox not realizing that bigamy was illegal ("What, even if your famous?") was pretty genuinely funny.

I hope that this film makes a lot of money as a dvd, gains a following, and maybe cult status, because apparently it didn't get much notice in the theaters. I really want the powers that be to be encouraged to allow more, similarly creative stuff, and for John C. Reilly (and Harold Ramis, and Tim Meadows, and the other creative folks too numerous to mention) to be in a lot more things. This is not a Ferrell&Reilly comedy, minus Ferrell. This is its own, pretty cool thing that should be judged on its own (in my opinion) very high merits.

『The movie is great, and it looks especially good on blu-ray. The only problem was the case was broken, the top left corner was cracked which keeps it from closing. I want to say that it must be a shipping problem, but I looked inside the box and I could not find the broken piece of the case which means that it must have been broken before it was put in the box.』

(A surprise funny film)
『I saw trailers of the film and didn't think I would like it. But. John C.Reilly has hit the mark this time, as most of his work has. It will have you in stitches. A funny title as well as a fun, funny film.』
