Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (What the Fuss? Momiji) 『I may have gone off the rails with an obvious display of impulsivity here, but there's nothing I can do about it. I have a crush on Momiji Dolls and, as I explained here, I have a problem with instant gratification. So, once I happened upon these delectable, three-inch pegs of lovliness, I bought several. Here's how it happened:
Over the years, I've seen Momiji Dolls in random places like the Uncommon Goods catalog. Momiji are little Japanese dolls with a message inside. They're immediately adorable, in same way that ducklings and puppies are adorable, and every time I come across Momiji, my brain automatically attempts to find a reason why I would need one. I should also mention that they are roughly $18 each, so most reasons I conjure are instantly trumped by the price tag.
These scrumptious little dolls seem to be springing up with more frequency of late, so last week, I went to the Momiji website and took a look. There are various collections - Randoms and Celebrations are the most prominent - and they have super-duper-silly messages stuffed inside of them. I put some in my cart and after doing a quick calculation, decided that they were too expensive.
Sidebar: After a cursory web search, it appears that these dolls are manufactured by a UK company. This reduces the funny quotient by a smidgen for me because I know that the hilariously poor message translations are feigned to some degree. For example, the message that accompanies Laughing Momiji is "How do you be so funny? I don't know where it comes from but it is always making me laughing. I like integral calculus and treasure hunts." Way funnier if you're Japanese and using machine translation like Sanrio, the Hello Kitty people. Still, the effort is good, so I'll go with it.
Okay, so last week I was going to buy some Momiji, then experienced a moment of lucidity and closed my browser. Then YESTERDAY, I was perusing the newest Tea Collection catalog. You know Tea Collection, the super cute kids' clothing with a Japanese twist. The latest catalog has little tidbits of Japanese culture and history throughout. And sure enough, one of the tidbits is about Japanese Kokeshi dolls. No matter the origin, which is up for debate, these dolls are part of Japanese history and artistry and are quite cool. Plus, they now have an official name and I can purchase them in the name of art or custom or start collecting them or something.
So, I went back to [...] and bought ten. YES TEN as gifts for all of the girls for Christmas with a few extra for Leighton. I bought Dancing Girl, Funny Girl, Giggles, Silly Billy, Poppet, Soul, Lucky, Little Star and Party Girl. Oh, and I bought a holiday doll - Blushes - as a Hostess gift for a cocktail party next week.
I am certainly pleased with my purchase and if you're in the market for a cute and quirky gift to give, Momiji fit the bill.

Unfortunatly; however, a few things were missing from the item description. First, this IS A HANGING ORNAMENT FOR A TREE OR PLANT, this is NOT a figurine. It does come with a funky metal hook so that you can place it into a potted plant. But, the hook is just a little too small to actually be useful. I get the impression that they package one of these hooks with every ornament A to Z gifts sells. This particular ornament is just a little to big for the stock hook.
FYI, the size of this ornament is approximately 4 1/2" long, about 5" tall, and about 2" wide. You can find the exact size for this item in the description, but it is hidden pretty well.
There is a stand that you can get for this horse so that you can use it as a figurine, but it is sold seperately.
This figurine is surprisingly intricate and detailed. I don't see a reasonable way for the painting to be done by a machine for anything other than a base coat. That means this ornament's accents are done by hand. While this can be a very nice touch, if you read some of the other reviews, several people got ornaments that were not painted very well. I can only guess that they happened to get an ornament that was painted by the "new guy"

She declared it to be her most favorite of them all. it's amazing to find such a large amount of detail in such a small figure. It is meant as an ornament, not a sculpture and works perfectly for that purpose. the colors are delicate and very detailed. It works quite well with the other fairy figures and will be a charming addition to any collection, especially collectors of the above mentioned artists. I just fell in love with the game so this was a good memory peice. One day when I left the house to buy some comic books (to see if their were any ff-x2 ones) my little sister thougt my action figures of the ff-x2 caracters were Barbie dolls. Honestly who is that stupid???? They dont look ANYTHING like barbies!!! Anyway... she tryed putting them in her Barbie car and Yunas leg snapped off!!! I was so mad and so terriffied!!!! I started cursing the makers of the figures!!! why woulld they be so fragile??? they should make them so little kids cant break them. Its not MY fault that I left them in the play/game room where my sister sleeps! Stupid Japenese people!!!』

(Awesome figure!) 『This figure of Yuna is great in that the face and body proportions look very close to the designs by video game artist Tetsuya Nomura. Paine and Rikku's faces are more accurate to the Nomura designs, but Yuna's face sculpt is still quite beautiful and elegant. Her costume is full of detail and pretty colors.
Her articulation is excellent. However, her ankles could have been sculpted more cleanly and could have had ball-jointed ankles for side-to-side feet movement. As a result she is slightly tipsy, but she can still stand well enough on her own without using her display stand.
For accessories, Yuna has a pair of cool guns, but they come attached to an extra set of hands, so that you have to change hands for her to hold weapons. I would have preferred a design where weapons could be directly placed into and removed from the hands.
Yuna is listed here on Amazon at a terrific value. I highly recommend this figure and while you're at it, get Paine and Rikku too!』
(Fantasy Figure!) 『Yuna is the summoner that we all know from Final Fantasy X. In FFX-2, she sheds her summoner's staff for a pair of guns, undergoes some personality changes, and goes on her own journey to find herself and that one person that she thought she had lost forever.
This figure looks better in real life than in the pics. It stands 6" tall and includes a set of extra hands. The packaging looks great and the detail, craftsmanship and quality are superb. There is a larger 12" version which you may want to get as well with Yuna holding the guns over her head. The larger version however is not poseable whereas this smaller version has 20 points of articulation.

("Where There Is Light" ~ Great Adversary, Or Ultimate Scapegoat?) 『I found the '07 release, `Biography - Satan: Prince of Darkness' to be an extremely shallow examination of the history of the Devil. It is narrow in scope, incomplete, lacking in content. The documentary limits itself only to the Christian perspective which is fine if that was the target audience it was aiming for. I found it surprising that even within the narrow scope of the Judeo-Christian faiths the program is unable to provide anything profound or meaningful in its allotted 141 minutes.
The program is at best a bare bones, cursory approach to the subject matter, offering no pertinent information or insight on the nature of metaphysical evil. In fact the narrative is so poorly scripted it borders on being downright laughable. There is so much left out and what is there is poorly presented.
Blatant Omissions: - There is no mention of the offspring of the "Sons of God" (angels) known as the Nephilim. - The Templars are nowhere to be found. - Mephistopheles, the most important demonic figure of the 20th century is never mentioned (they do show an illustration of him).
These are but a few of the problems with this presentation, there are many more. I recommend that you pass on this one.』

From the get go when Lucifer is said to be another name for Satan you can sure bet that single minded Christian antics are at work here. There is so much to gripe about here that I will say this: HOGWASH. Avoid this at all costs and look for more interesting documentaries such as: Satanis, Omen Legacy, Angeli Bianchi-Angeli Neri, Scream Greats Volume 2:Satanism and Satanic Witchcraft, and a really good documentary on the Mondo Macabro release "Satanico Pandomonium". 』
(Portrait of the Prince of Darkness) 『This documentary proved quite informative, as well as value for money. Despite scant attention being given to pre-Christian concepts of evil and the underworld, the real pleasure was the bonus feature, 'Hell: The Devil's Domain', which runs substantially longer than the first feature and delves into the many fascinating artistic interpretations of Satan and his kingdom of Hell. Excerpts from interviews with various academics, authors and Jesuit Theologians are woven into the narrative, which lends the material much articulation. Unfortunately for Christians, it won't scare people back into church. But it does shed some light on the origins and evolution of one of the most fascinating literary figures of all time. For those interested in delving further, read Jeffrey Burton Russell's seminal works on the subject, especially 'Lucifer: The Devil in the Middle Ages' and 'Mephistopheles: The Devil in the Modern World'.

Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (ONLY nursing bra that has WORKED so far) 『With breasts as large as mine, a bra need not only fit, it's gotta WORK. I am nursing my first child with breasts bigger than her (it's really a sight to see) and have tried about a dozen bras. What's missing in most nursing bras seems to be support; the flip-down design makes molded cups impossible, apparently, so the fabric of the cup itself needs to be tough. This is the only bra I've found that actually holds my breasts up. I know a lot of women seem to experience this "up around my neck" kind of engorging - not me. Mine are just as low as ever but bigger than is decent. I wouldn't leave the house the first few weeks after my baby was born because I looked so dumpy in all the other saggy, baggy nursing bras. I ordered one of these, it fit, and I ordered two more. If you have huge breasts (but aren't otherwise plus size - I've noticed a lot of bras only come in the crazy-big cups if you're like a 48 around), this is the bra to buy. As cliched as it sounds, I got my life back.

(Super Comfy, Straps Not As Depicted Though) 『I'm petite, but have large breast's and normally wear a 32D or DD depending on the brand. Since I'm nursing (#3 btw) I ordered a 32F and the cup size is perfect. This bra's band does run large so be sure to order a size smaller than what you would normally wear. I was unable to do this as they didn't offer a 30F. Because of this I can tell that it won't fit once the rest of my preggo weight comes off as I'm already using it on the tightest setting. In the meantime it's great and super comfy!
I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the straps are not as depicted in the picture. I cannot wear this bra with a tank top because the straps are wide and industrial looking. Another review stated that it had "normal" straps so it could be worn w/tanks and that's what eventually won me over so that was a little disappointing, but I'm not sending it back because we live up north and it will be worn mostly during the fall/winter months to come. Otherwise the bra is very pretty, and like I said before, the comfort is outstanding!!

I love love love Sackboy. His knit body perfectly matches the game. The zipper is non-functional, but looks good and is to scale. Sackgirl is slightly more disappointing, although still accurate. She's made of cloth, much like the options available from your pop-it, but there is something about the knit that makes Sackboy a better match, it my eyes. Her hair is cloth and the kerchief is removable.
I am planning to buy more from this manufacturer, I just hope they start selling individual dolls instead of selling them in sets.』

I know fashion figures are supposed to be stylized but these models are stiff and top heavy. The males have a curious lack of hips often coupled by an unusual medical condition by which they are without any distinct waist. The women don't suffer from hiplessness, however both sexes lack butts. Yes I know, they are supposed to be skinny runway models, but their chests are pretty well built, and their lower halves look disproportionately meager by comparison. I think the book will still be useful for poses, but only standing and walking ones, as there are no seated or reclining models. I was hoping for a little more variety.』

I love the few books I've read in the "Words Are CATegorical" series of books. The great rhyming scheme and the colorful cats will entice even the most reluctant reader and fascinate those who are as smart as a whip. This is an easy way for children to learn about figurative language. The vibrant and sometimes comical cats make the concepts easier to comprehend by presenting visuals. This is a book targeted to the youngster between the ages of seven and eleven. It is simple and doesn't talk about things like explicit or implied comparisons. I am a fine arts major in college and I use this book to refer to the human figure in action, the drawings show the figure relaxed, flexing and jumping around. The drawings are all black and white and come with a description of what the figure is doing and why certain parts of the body do what they do. Very detailed and great depiction of the male anatomy.』
(A note of Caution) 『Rather than add to the dozens of wonderful and true things that have already been said about this book, I would just like to add one bit of caution. Though I believe this is probably the best book you will find on drawing difficult foreshortened positions (as this was/is my biggest challenge and this book has been a tremendous help) the artist in this book somehow misses something very basic in drawing the body.
There is a way the body naturally tilts when more weight is put on one leg than the other. Unless I am deeply mistaken, the artist in this book fails to account for the tilt that occurs between the hips and shoulders in response to this weight shift. IE if all your weight is on your right leg, that side of the hip will almost always be higher and the shoulder is normally lower on that same side as the gap between the bottom of the rib cage and the top of the hip closes. As far as I know -- unless I am completely blind --, not a single picture in this book accounts for this. And when it does it is because the body is in an action that requires it. Not to take ANYTHING from this book or this artist, but this seems so bizzare to me that I feel like I must be mistaken here. Every other art book I have accounts for and mentions this, and if you look at any of the 'old masters' drawings you will notice that this sort of position was used quite often in depicting the standing figure. Infact just google the statue of david and you will see what im talking about. Whatever you think of that, this book is still the best book on the issue.』

Once assembled, it takes very little effort to break it apart under normal play. There is a tub of clay included in case you want to mold your own version of Vilgax, since he is NOT included with his own battle ship. Do not fear however..., there is a clear plastic Ben 10 action figure with a skate board that will hold your child's attention for all of 10 seconds!
Very disappointed in the quality and concept of this toy. It could have been much better, but it appears to be nothing more than a waste of your disposable income. Buyer beware.』
