Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (For my round the world Christmas tree) 『This year my family was scattered all over the place at Christmas, so to bring them a little closer to home, I purchased this beautiful Big Ben ornament and other ornaments from the Kurt Adler Glass Cityscape collection to represent where they were: my daughter in San Francisco, my son in Los Angeles, dear friends in London and New York City. The ornaments are beautifully designed and executed and each time I saw them on my tree, I felt that they were celebrating Christmas with me. I told an English friend about the Big Ben ornament and he took three with him when he went to visit friends in New York as hostess gifts. They were very well-received.』 『Noble Gems Big Ben London England Glass Christmas Ornament. This beautiful ornament measures about 5.5 inches tall. This ornament can be displayed all year long with a stand on shelves, etc. They're not just a Christmas ornament, but rather a treasured collectible to display all year long. A great gift, for any occasion!』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Great ornament when you buy someone a grill for xmas) 『We bought this ornament instead of trying to wrap a very large grill as a xmas present. Although somewhat heavy for a xmas tree branch, it was perfect for the purpose intended.』
(Great product. Great Xmas tree decoration!) 『I received a grill for xmas, this reminded me of the gift I wanted so badly! It is so cute, it opens and closes, great quality.』 『Finally a cute BBQ ornament for your Weber Grill King. Cute hinged ornament opens to reveal 3 beef pattys grilling. (Order arrived damaged, no time to fix before Christmas, but company resolved issue the best they could...) 『I ordered this product to arrive a few days before Christmas. I got the product in time, however, the product was damaged...the back right paw was broken off. The piece was there, in the box, and I didn't have time to return it and get another, so I used some super glue to glue the paw back on...then put it back in the box so the paw didn't touch the plastic (so the pressure wouldn't break it off again, not being on all that good so quickly). I'm hoping it held, I haven't heard anything from the gift recipient. The product that was pictured was NOT the product that was sent (it was completely different--picture was a chihuahua sitting on a carpet, with a gift unwrapped in front of it, while the product sent was a chihuahua with no carpet, no gift, with a string of Christmas lights in his mouth). Between this and the item arriving damaged, I had nothing good to say to the seller when I left them feedback. However, the seller (Loveyourpet) e-mailed me wanting to resolve the issue. They also explained that the manufacturer changed the product but left the UPC the same, so until they got complaints, they had no way of knowing the product was different from the one pictured on Amazon. I told them that there wasn't much that could be done now, or even before, due to timing...and that normally I would've returned/exchanged the product, but timing was the issue before Christmas. The seller then asked me to confirm my address, and wanted to at least send me a full refund check by mail. Several days later, I received the check as promised, for the full amount refunded. Considering the seller did what they could at that point to make the customer happy, I went from never buying from this seller again (and a 1 star review at the time)...to, now, I think I would, since they seem concerned about the customer's satisfaction. As I told them, short of having a magic wand...they did all they could at the time, since we couldn't exactly go back in time and resolve the issue, or do it in one day or less at the time so the gift would've been intact by Christmas. 』
(Great Ornament!) 『This is an adorable bulldog ornament! My husband LOVES English bulldogs, so I gave him this ornament for Christmas. Super cute and it looked great on our tree. We're looking forward to having it on our tree for years to come...and we're looking forward to having a real-life English bulldog soon! :)』
(Adorable!) 『My aunt absolutely loved this ornament! It looks just like her own shih tzu! Fast shipping! Thanks!』
(Great) 『Very nice to find a rotty ornament, they are not that common. This one looks even better in personn.』 『Sandicast ornaments are hand cast, hand painted sculptures made from marble dust and resin. Artfully designed with lifelike attention to detail for each breed.』

Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Spectator's video guide to figure skating) 『American Skating World Magazine review by Chris Bothner-By Although there are many professional competitions and skating shows being broadcasted, the National, World and Olympic events capture the imagination in a different way, and they are the only ones where requirements and scoring are critically important. In this video, Ann-Margreth Frei places emphasis on the amateur competitions and points out the differences in requirements and scoring between this and professional competition. It is divided into three sections: single skating including jumps spins and footwork. Pair skating and ice dancing, and a brief discussion on scoring. Ann-Margreth presentation starts with an explanation of the edges on the blades and how they are used, and the basic turns, jumps and spins. The jump section is divided into jumps with edge take-offs, pointing out that the Axel is the only one with a forward take-off, and second the jumps with a toe take-off. All are shown as singles, doubles and triples. The latter two being shown at normal speed and slow motion. The use of charts showing the degree of difficulty of the jumps is very helpful for the spectator. In the spin section, all the basic forward and backward spins are shown as well as combinations and variations, flying spins and some more spectacular spins such as death drop and those multiple change foot and position are explained as well as mistakes like traveling. Footwork is included in the spin section with mention of specialized moves such as spirals and spread eagles. The pair section deals with the various lifts, spins and jumps, relating the latter two to single skating also showing the holds used and pointing out the importance of unison and the compatibility of size and temperament between partners. The difficulty of landing throw jumps and exits from advanced lifts is pointed out. In both of these segments, some of the recorded mistakes are retained in the tape with explanations of what went wrong, and how it affected the scoring. Ice dance, presented as ballroom dancing on the ice with a partner in almost constant contact, is compared with pairs, and the basic partner positions and some of the basic steps are shown. Compatibility of the partners is of course important here too. Compulsory dance, an original dance and a free dance are shown. Charts to clarify the type of scoring used in amateur competition conclude the presentation. When I receiced this video for review, I watched it several times before I decided that my point of view is much too technical for a "Spectator". I then asked various people who enjoy watching Figure Skating Broacasts, but are otherwise minimally or not at all involved in the sport to watch it and give me their opinions. My sample audience enjoyed it very much, and found it well organized "backstage"- this from a theater person-look at the performance techniques and training requirements of competitive skating. The viewers particularly appreciated the explanations of edges and their uses and of the different types of jump take-offs. One of them found that if she concentrated on the technical material she missed the beautiful jumps and spins, and felt that the tape definitly was worth repeated viewing. She now looks forward even more enthusiastically to the skating season on TV. They all tell there could be even more slow motion and found that the detailed explanation of the difference between pair skating and ice dance really helped in viewing these events. The slow motion also gave them a better understanding of how critical timing is to successful performance. There was a certain amount of curiosity about costumes. Of course the demonstrators are all in nice practice clothes, but this is not what one sees in an actual performance. The other question, which I believe is almost universal among spectators, is the control of dizziness in spins. I was both amazed and gratified by the very positive response the tape received and very glad that I had looked for outside opinions. It might be somewhat intimidating both from the points of view of time and expense, if this were a two tape presentation, but there was a definite consensus in the response that even more detailed information would have been welcome, especially since it can (and should) be watched in segments. Figure skating is now the second most watched sport on television, and currently gets more press coverage than even five years ago. However, the Spectator's Video Guide to Figure Skating is a welcome and needed addition to the material available to the public. Volume 3 of the video series includes the episodes "Father Figure" and "The Zit." In "Father Figure," Angela's father Graham, who was considering having an extramarital affair, senses that Angela is beginning to pull away from him. He tries to remedy this by giving her and her friend Rayanne Grateful Dead tickets. While Rayanne (who doesn't know her father) is joyous, Angela, who is suspicious, wants nothing to do with the tickets and decides to scalp them. Angela's mother Patty is also struggling with her own father who doubts her ability to run the family business. When the business is audited by the IRS the same night as the concert, fathers and daughters clash as they try to equalize their relationships.
In "The Zit," the sophomore girls top-40 list is released at school. While Rayanne is deemed "most slut potential" and Angela's estranged friend Sharon is voted "best hooters," Angela's only award is a big pimple on her chin. As her self-esteem shrinks, Patty insists she participate in the yearly mother-daughter fashion show, coaching her on "how to look your best." Although Patty has always been told how pretty she is, her own insecurities on aging have projected onto fixing up Angela, who feels she will never live up to her mother's expectations. Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Volume 2 is alot better than Volume 1) 『Volume 2 is alot better than Volume 1. But...each one is based on which Super Stars are your favorite.』
(Good look at the Superstars) 『I have been a wrestling fan since 1996 and have watched all kinds of wrestling. I have a wrestling DVD/VHS collection spanning over 50 all together. This is the most complete and accurate review of this DVD you will find. I hope you find this review helpful; remember to vote helpful or not helpful. (Note-Each DVD I review has a "Match of the DVD" award somewhere in it.)
Before They Were WWF Superstars This is a very fun DVD if you liked WWE Confidential that came on in 2002-2004 or The Best of WWE Confidential, Vol. 1. You get to hear a quick history about each one of the superstars featured in this DVD. It features a lot of clips of Mexican wrestling, OMEGA wrestling, and all your big time promotions. Some of the profiles are more interesting than others, but you'll still enjoy this DVD a lot.
You'll hear about Kurt Angle's Olympic and College day in my favorite part of this disk. Stacy Keibler will tell about how she got into WCW by winning a Nitro Girl contest. Edge and Christian will tell about their long-time friendship. They even go to their original school and visit. The kids at the school are funny and are marking out for Edge and Christian. Lita tells about her days in Mexico and shows off her collection of Mexican wrestling masks. Spike Dudley's love of wrestling is told. He tells how he played Football instead of Hockey, just so he could watch wrestling in the morning. You'll hear about Molly Holly's power lifting days and how she broke records with her lifting. You'll also hear about how she became Ms. Madness in WCW. The Hardy Boyz tell about their struggles in the beginning and how their Dad would give them a rough time about wrestling. Bradshaw and Billy Gunn also speak on how they got into wrestling. William Regal talks about his days in Blackpool, England, and how he was wrestling since age 15.
Extras Include- Jaqueline VS Starla Saxton (Molly Holly)- Heat 10/11/98 Gillberg(c) VS Essa Rios w/Lita (Light heavyweight Title)- Heat 2/13/00 Bradshaw VS Undertaker- Raw 4/1/96 Rob Van Dam VS Jeff Hardy- Raw 5/12/97 Sing-Along- Raw 12/22/00 Angle/Edge/Christian VS Jericho/Dudley Boyz- Raw 12/22/00 Smoking Gunns VS 1-2-3 Kid and Bob Holly(C) (Tag Team Titles)- Raw 1/25/95 Mr. Manners- Raw 9/18/00 Hamlet- Raw 9/18/00 No Holds Beared (Bradshaw's story about fighting a bear) Ice Rules! (E&C get stuck in Ice Lake) Spike's Hardcore (Spike slams his brother out the window) I told you so (Christian tells about paying off his debt) 50 Cents (Funny Kurt Angle story)』
(dont pay to much for it) 『Just picked this up at wal-mart. They had tons of them. The price? how about $3.88!! So, dont pay to much for it here. This DVD is only worth a couple of bucks!』
(Worth the Money) 『I bought this dvd off of Amazon new for like $11, worth every penny. There are some great extras on this dvd. So, if your a collector of wrestling dvd's make sure this one is in your collection.』
(Good to watch once) 『It is informative, however it is something that you watch once get a kick out of a few things, and that's it. I would have liked to see more about the beginnings of their careers and not about their barbers, eating disorders, and haloween costumes. I should have rented this and not bought it.』 『The WWE is all about spectacle and illusion, so the idea of putting out a real look at the lives of its superstars sounds, on paper, like a cheesy bore. Surprisingly,Before They Were WWE Superstarsis hardly boring; in fact, it's the best non-pay-per-view DVD the organization has ever released. The documentary details the rise of 12 midlevel names (Kurt Angle is the only huge figure profiled) and the strange, often brutal roads they took to make it as pro wrestlers. Besides Angle, William Regal, Edge and Christian, Lita, Spike Dudley, Mighty Molly, the Hardy Boyz, Bradshaw, Stacy Keibler, and Billy Gunn tell their stories (often punctuated by comments from their parents or siblings), and all are fascinating vignettes. Say what you want about pro wrestling, but the drive and determination displayed by these people is not only impressive, but uplifting.--Dave McCoy』 『GREAT CONDITION, WILL SHIP FAST!!』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Olympic Figuire Skating -- Greatest Performances in History Vol l&ll) 『I give this DVD set 3 stars because having these performances available on DVD at all is nice to have. However, I don't think these DVDs are very well executed. Here are some of the reasons:
-- There's no menu that will allow the viewer to select the specific performance they want to see; instead, the viewer will have to rely on fast forwarding. -- There seems to be no logical order of the performances. They're not organized chronologically, by men's, ladies' or pairs. -- There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to who's included in these DVDs. By this I mean they've included performances of skaters who did NOT win gold medals such as Janet Lynn, Debi Thomas, Midori Ito, which is fine except that it is glaringly obvious that they omitted some of figure skating's most beautiful performers such as Linda Frantianne, Nancy Kerrigan, Michelle Kwan, and Sasha Cohen. In contrast to this, they've included both the long and short programs of Sarah Hughes who I think is the least decorated skater in terms of earning 1st place in other major competitions and is also the least beautiful skater to watch. -- Video clips do not seem to have smooth transitions from one performance to another. At times it looks as though the film clips were just spliced together hap hazardly as if the film pieces broke and were reconnected.
In summary, I am glad to have these performances available on DVD but am particularly disappointed in not seeing some of figure skating's most beautiful skaters featured on this set.』

Now I have "I Love It When You Talk Retro" to set matters straight. And no, Dad, juggernaut is NOT a German WWI term, Ralph Keyes explains it comes from the Hindu deity Jagannath...see the book for the full explanation and photo. For me "Retro" falls into three categories: a slideshow of my life (Woodstock Nation, Flower Children, Rosebud, Chauncey Gardiner), explanations for things I always hear by never really could define (What the hell is a catbird seat anyway?)and letting the cat out of the bag about knowledge that made me feel superior (Potemkin village, Pangloss, Miss Haversham, and Comstockery.) What's interesting is that the value of this book will expand with time. The further we move away from these origins, the more confused we will become by their lingering references. Cultural literacy demands Retro fluency and this will be the classic reference. Even better: it's a fun read...crispy chips of insights. Bet you can't read just one section at a time. And Dad, Avatar, is also from the Hindu, and has nothing to do with birds and French!』
(Talking "Retro") 『This delightful book gives the reader the origins and meanings of a multitude of catch phrases that you have heard, but were perhaps not sure of. It is a quick read. I have bought a copy as a gift for my son, who loves words, but is too young to know many of the phrases.』
(This is essential reference) 『Not only a reference though. It's fun too. For a writer like me, even if you lived the retro talk, you tend to forget. This is great to refresh your memory and grab the feeling of early American speech. Grandma never did learn to say "refrigerator." And gosh darn it, watch that talk about 45's if you want to be cool with the kiddies.』
(A rather interesting book) 『Quite a few expressions we Americans use are out-of-date expressions that we nonetheless know the meaning of, more or less. But, even among those that we use, we often do not completely understand the roots of the expression. Well, in this rather interesting book, author and wordsmith Ralph Keyes goes through many retro expressions, and tells you exactly what they mean.
I must say that I found this to be a rather interesting book. The author spread a nice, wide net in finding lots of expressions and covering their meanings. Now, as you might expect he could not possibly cover *every* expression out there, so you will no doubt find expressions missing that you would like explained. But, that said, this is a very good book on the subject, one that I am quite glad that I checked out.』
(A fun and informative read.) 『This is a fun book for finding out where phrases that you use all the time came from. It'll give you great cocktail party chat. :-)

An entertaining and informative book about the fashion and fads of language
Todayâs 18-year-olds may not know who Mrs. Robinson is, where the term âstuck in a grooveâ comes from, why 1984 was a year unlike any other, how big a bread box is, how to get to Peyton Place, or what the term Watergate refers to.I Love It When You Talk Retrodiscusses these verbal fossils that remain embedded in our national conversation long after the topic they refer to has galloped off into the sunset. That could be a person (Mrs. Robinson), product (Edsel), past bestseller (Catch-22), radio or TV show (Gangbusters), comic strip (Alphonse and Gaston), or advertisement (Whereâs the beef?) long forgotten. Suchretrotermsare words or phrases in current use whose origins lie in our past. Ralph Keyes takes us on an illuminating and engaging tour through the phenomenon that is Retrotalkâa journey, oftentimes along the timelines of American history and the faultlines of culture, that will add to the word-loverâs store of trivia and obscure references.
"The phraseâdrinking the Kool-Aidâ is a mystery to young people today, as is â45rpm.â Even older folks donât know the origins of âraked over the coalsâ and âcut to the chase.â Keyes (The QuoteVerifier) uses his skill as a sleuth of sources to track what he callsâretrotalkâ: âa slippery slope of puzzling allusions to past phenomena.â He surveys the origins of âverbal fossilsâ from commercials (Kodak moment), jurisprudence (Twinkie defense), movies (pod people), cartoons (Caspar Milquetoast) and literature (brave new world). Some pop permutations percolated over decades: RadioâsTake It or Leave Itspawned a catch phrase so popular the program was retitledThe $64 Questionand later returned as TVâsThe $64,000 Question. Keyesâs own bookIs There Life After High School?became both a Broadway musical and a catch phrase. Some entries are self-evident or have speculative origins, but Keyesâs nonacademic style and probing research make this both an entertaining read and a valuable reference work." --Publishers Weekly

It has a zipper on the top to open and close it with. Very comfortable to hold; it doesn't slip off the shoulders, like countless other bags. I jam things in there and find no end to it... hee.

Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (pretty good) 『These are fairly warm, but not as warm as the really thick tights I used to be able to find many years ago. They ARE very durable.』 『Heavyweight microfiber skating tights. Best suited for ice figure skating. Danskin tights are softer and more durable than other brands, and very well priced.Final sale.』

I chanced upon him at a local store and was appalled. The "buttons" on his chest aren't really buttons- they're simply sculpted on his chest to resemble his chest buttons; the same goes for his "laser"- it's merely sculpted on his arm to give the impression of working button. In actuality, the toy's legs don't even bend- they're molded straight with the knee joints sculpted on (do you see a pattern here).
The big feature of this Buzz is his "karate chop action" that Woody deftly uses in Toy Story to get away from Sid's mutant toys. In this figure, the action feature is weak at best and his arm doesn't straighten out in front of his body, but rather chops at a 45 degree angle away from his body. His head ratchets to the side when he chops, as if he's looking to see what's happening to his arm.
That's it. No talking feature, no laser (it's physically impossible to get a working laser light and karate chop feature in the same arm); his knees don't bend.
Save your money- either buy the slightly more expensive Talking Buzz Lightyear, or hunt for the Mattel versions or earlier Thinkway versions.』
