『I installed the new BlackBerry OS 5.0 the day before this keyboard arrived. I tried all the tricks listed in reviews here and elsewhere, but to no avail. I finally wrote to their tech support and got this message back:

Sorry for the delay in replying to your ticket. Unfortunately at present the freedom universal keyboard2 is not compatible with the the new Blackberry OS5, due to the modifications RIM has made in its new OS system. We have been testing all of the unofficial Beta's of the Blackberry OS 5 that were release but due to them being so buggy we haven't be able to made any alteration until RIM officially release the new OS which was last week. Now it has been released by RIM themselves we will work on a solution or have an updated driver to get the keyboard working again with this new Blackberry OS system.

I have added you to a mailing list so as soon as this is available I will email you with the solution.

(Works with Nokia E71, but not by following docs)

『Pros: Nice case, good feel, works great with Linux, reasonable battery life.

Cons: Difficult to grip the slide to unlock the keyboard for folding, impossible to see SPP/HID mode switch, almost impossible to get working with Symbian 60 phones

I bought this to work both with my Nokia E71 (S60v3 phone) and as an external keyboard for an Asus EeePC (running Eeebuntu.) It works great with the EeePC; I have no complaints about it when using it as a normal Bluetooth keyboard with a PC.

However, the phone support falls flat. A special driver application is needed for it to work with the E71. The keyboard was detected precisely once and worked well enough during my initial test. All further attempts have been an exercise in frustration (but wait, there's more at the end.)

The driver app could not detect the keyboard, even after rebooting the phone, reinstalling the drivers, deleting the keyboard from the list of devices, attempting to pair it via Bluetooth, changing batteries in the keyboard, trying both the HID and SPP settings, and updating the Nokia's firmware. It literally worked one day and was dead to the world the next. During this entire time it worked fine with the EeePC.

I had written the driver app off as an utter piece of crap but made one last check of the documentation to make sure I hadn't missed any steps before writing this review and in fact I had not. Having nothing to lose, I pressed the big "B" Bluetooth reset button used to reset the keyboard when using it with WinCE/Windows Mobile phones. Or with non-Blackberry phones, depending on where you look in the documentation.

There's no mention of the B button in the Symbian 60 connection documentation at all; it only shows up in the Windows Mobile docs. However, the pictorial overview of the keyboard mentions that the B button has to be held down for 5 seconds prior to connecting with non-Blackberry phones. So it's not clear if this is documented or not; it isn't if you only follow the S60 instructions.

By some miracle the phone was once again able to connect to the keyboard. It still worked even after rebooting the phone and changing out the keyboard's batteries. Yes, I checked to make sure it didn't mysteriously fail on me again.

This might be a coincidence; hopefully not, otherwise it means the keyboard does not reliably connect to the phone. Regardless, this burned a lot of my time trying to track down and is far more effort than I'd expect a normal user to go through. I expect most people would just send it back or throw it against a wall.

In summary, the keyboard works great with a PC and on the rare chance you can get it to connect to your phone.』

『I've owned the J2's as well and must say JLab is an amazing company. It amazes me how much they care and back up their product. I recently purchased the J3's because of the great experience I had with the J2's. What I can say is after reading the negative reviews is that I'm sure that a lot of them say the sound is trebly and bad because they are wearing it wrong! If you wear these headphones correctly the audio quality is simply terrific. I can't wait to hear how these babies sound after the burn in period.』

『First of let me say that I have recently bought a J2 about 3 weeks ago. Those were great, but I gave them to my brother since I've got the J3.

At first, I thought the reviews about the j3s sounding too trebly were correct. I was extremely disappointed, but I gave it a chance since I haven't burned it in yet.
After 3 hours, there was not much improvement. I was losing my hope in these earphones because my J2s were much better sounding.
It was only after I tried adjusting the ear foams that I discovered my mistake.
The standard size was the best fit for me, so using that ear piece, I tried twisting the earbuds into my ears instead.
To my own surprise, the sound became extremely rich. I tested it again, but this time with my normal way of placing in my earbuds, and the trebleness returned.

You've probably read a lot of reviews saying that the sound of the j3 is too trebly and weak. Discard them from your mind. I hate to say this but it's not the earbud's fault but our own. To experience the full sounds of this great bud, you HAVE to put it really into your ears. So much that it literally cuts off the sounds of a person talking.

Now, onto the review now that we clarified the trebly sound mistakes :].

Sound: These buds are amazing once you place them in your ears correctly (shove it all the way in.) The sound is rich and clear. Of course, I haven't fully burned them in yet, and I can hear the earphones get better every hour or so. But still, even without a full burn in, it sounds surprisingly good. Even better than my j2s which have been used extensively for a couple of weeks now. Now, I'm not a super major audiophile, but I do know that my ears are very good at hearing sounds. I have to say, running my music through these earphones with my computer sound cards settings at 24 bit and 192000hz is just great. The sound comes out clear, basses with enough "oofmp" and trebles with enough clarity. I repeat again, this is when the earpphones are not fully burned it yet.

Design and build: This is the sexiest and coolest looking earbuds I've seen. Much better than those of ipods and zunes, and I like it's shape better than shures. Basically, the shape just screams high end production and quality. The earbuds are quite small, and the cable seems quite thin. However, this just all adds into its appeal. The shiny aluminum, the sleek black aluminum shell, and the see through cable, (along with the laser etched logos) all look great. There's great attention to design because even the cable looks attractive.
Other than looks, the build seems extremely solid. Although the cable takes a bit to straighten out, it's very durable and stiff despite it's thinness. The wire is a little on the short side though (well it doesn't really matter because I haven't found a time where i needed to be more than 4 feet from my music player.) The connection areas are very well done too. Especially the plugin part. It's gold plated for greater quality, and the plastic covering for the area is small but strong and well made. There's a Y split adjuster too, it's a little short for my taste but that's fine.

I also like that Jbuds put a metal mesh over the earhole of the buds to keep stuff from entering. It's a great improvement from the j2s. It also looks great.

The buds come with 4 sizes, and each of these can change the perception of the sound quality. So you have to test them all if you want to find the best one for you.

Other than that, this comes with a spiffy casing. It's small and easy to use. It takes a bit of time to figure how to put the buds in, but I found it really easy if you wrap your bud around 3 of your fingers and then place it into the container.
I love this addition because not many other companies offer a case with their buds.

Now that you know my impressions, feel free to judge these buds yourself. I'm pretty sure that you'll love em.
Also, it's Jlabs offer a great website, and their burn in test there seems to be very good, so give it a try when you get these buds.』

(New to the High-End Earbud Market)

『Before using J3's, I had no real conception of the difference between a low-end and high-end earphone. My best set of earphones was a cheap Philips pair that I bought at Best Buy. Therefore, I'll try to cater this review to others considering the transition into the high-end earphone market, who have never owned a well-built earphone.

If you're currently using a low-end earphone, I highly recommend upgrading to the J3's. When compared to low-end earphones, these have several distinguishing features:
- The rubber tips form a seal in your ear to enable high-quality low end frequencies. That is, you can actually hear really deep bass if you're wearing the earphones correctly. In order to ensure correct fit, JBuds includes four rubber tips so you can custom fit them to your ear.
- The materials are much higher-quality - the phones themselves have an aluminum body and the cord feels much stiffer than low-end earphones.
- You can't hear anything outside the earphones. This can be good or bad, depending on how you plan to use them, but for the most part, I would say this is a very positive feature. However, if you move your head around you can hear rustling as the cord rubs on your clothing. I assume this would be typical for any noise-isolating earphone, though.
- The case is very well-designed. It's compact and doesn't crush the earphones if pressure is applied. If you haven't used a round case like this, it might seem awkward trying to fit everything into it. The trick, however, is to lightly wrap the cord around your ring, middle, and index fingers and then put everything in the case.
- These require a burn-in period in order to get the best sound. When I first started using these, the high-frequencies seemed really harsh, but this problem disappeared after a week or so of listening. The change in sound quality is very noticeable after the burn-in period. After a bit of research, it looks like JBuds actually has sounds on their site specifically designed to burn in these earphones.

The frustration-free packaging is very nice. The box that these ship in is about the size of a 3x5 index card and the thickness of two iPods, so everything comes neat and well-organized.

So far, I haven't been able to find any real drawbacks to these earphones. They seem very well built, and the music quality is great. I would highly recommend these.

(Great Headphones and great customer service)

『I bought these headphones almost a year ago and they have served me well. A very good upgrade from most stock headphone and are very comfortable which is important! I took them to my trip to europe and lots to time traveling means lots of time wearing headphones. These are not top of the line headphones but very good sound in my opinion. For the price, they cannot be beat. Keep in mind, these are earbuds, and for music on the go so I was never expecting it to produce phenomenal sound. I was very disappointed when one of the earbuds stopped producing sound. I was ready to buy another pair when I read all the positive reviews about their customer service. I usually don't like to deal with any customer service if I don't have to(really bad experiences!). But I sent them an email about the warranty and within a day or two, they shipped another brand new pair of earbuds and I didn't have to send back the defective pair. Also it comes with another 1 year warranty. It is definitely the best customer service experience I've had with any product. There's really no risk if you haven't bought a pair yet. It is well worth the investment. One note that I have is that these are not good for jogging for working out, they tend to fall out after a lot of jiggling and the sweat doesn't help either. So I wouldn't recommend them for the gym/running.』

『I bought the JBuds J2 because I could get them in different colors. I have 2 kids and they keep taking each others head phones. This stops that. They are normal quality. Only thing I don't like about them is that the silcone ear pieces are not very thick which makes it feel uncomfortable at times like the ear pieces have come off the earbud, but it hasn't.』

『Bought my Jbuds last month and last week the left earbud died on me. I emailed Jlabs support, and their response was simply great. They sent me a brand new replacement pair, without asking for shipping or the old ones back. Sound quality is pretty good, the burn-in period does improve the sound somewhat, but don't expect amazing quality. They are good for the price and very comfortable with good noise insulation. Best reason to get these is for the fact that if they do die or whatever, you'll be taken care of by great customer service.』

(Shaky, hard to release)

『Length makes it too bouncy to use unless you prop it against dash trim.
The release mechanism is hard to use and can result in a flying phone unless you use two hands.』

(Bad workmenship, AVOID!)

『I have had this car adapter for less than two months and it is already broken. The internal mechnism no longer grabs the iPhone and hold sit. This is due to a little piece of plastic on the inside that broke. This is not a typical Kensington product experience. I have never had problems with their equipment except for this cell phone holder. Impossible for me to fix, I am out the moey on the unit now. One would think that you dont make the whole damn thing out of plastic, you need to have some better support for it. Oh well, live and learn.』

(Good mount for iPhone but noisy)

『I have been using it for a month and so far it looks reliable. It didn't fall off and the device is secure in it. What I don't like is the noise the mount produces during a drive especially when there is no device in there. Other than that it does its job well.』

(Worth The Money)

『I've been using the Kensington car mount for about a week and it is flawless. I know others have complained that the arm shakes - hey, what would you expect an extension arm to do? We live in a flat area, so it is fine and besides, I don't spend all my time looking at my phone while driving, and that is why I can write this review today. There is a 3/8ths of an inch thick cushion holding your device in place which makes it easy for your phone or pod to be quickly released. I'm sure the mount can be used for many other devices, not just an iphone or pod. It seems to open up enough to hold a razzleberry phone.
Pros:
A) highly adjustable ARM which can be bent so that your phone faces you while the suction mount is out of view. Arm is long enough so that you can set your phone exactly where you want it to be.
B) Phone comes out easily by turning the phone to its side and replaced by using the same method.
C) Turns to side for widescreen view - clicks in place and easily resets to the upright position.
D) Suctions well to a "Clean Windshield"
Cons:
Well, if i need to come up with one, I would ask for the base which supports the phone from the bottom was about 1/4 to 3/8 longer. It's not all that important.』

『It stays put where ever you bend the arm. But don't close the arms too tightly because this makes it hard to release them with the button on the back. I have mine set loose enough to where I can set my iPod in it easily w/o having to adjust the arms. Good product though. I've hit some big bumps and it does not move around.』
