『They are too small and will hurt your fingers. I bought it thinking I would be saving so money to buy it in a package. Half way through taking out my iMacs old hard drive I ended up giving up on these tools and went and bought some decent ones at my local hardware store, and let me tell you... what a difference. It so cheap that I would say do waste your money, but I would say don't waste your precious time with this. A simple 10 minute job could take your hours with this!』

    『Reading all of the other reviews, I was expecting the best case available for an iPhone. I was excited to rip open the package the day it arrived. Everything looked good, it's a beautiful case and snaps together easily. Here's the problem. When you first put the case on, everything is fine. Then after a little use, the front cover, which is a thin plastic shield, begins to slightly adhere to the glass cover. To picture this, imagine when you get one of those shields that you smooth on with a credit card, and there's a bubble or two that you can't smooth out. Well, with this screen, I get a "bubble" about 1/3 the size of the entire screen that makes it look very cheap. Now, you can still see the screen, but I don't understand why it sticks at all. I can open the case and then pull the iPhone away, and it's fine for a while, but apparently there is a small air gap between the phone and the thin shield that causes the problem. I've tried using a credit card, but no help. I suppose I have to slip my iSkin Revo back on... Hopefully others have had better luck than I have.

    『I already had an iPhone Xylo T2 (Original model) when IvySkin came out with this iPhone case. I just had to have one, so I purchased it for one of my employees. It has all of the advantages of the T2 Original, meaning that it provides unsurpassed protection for an expensive piece of electronics, while giving the phone a unique image. I'm addicted to these cases and this one doesn't disappoint.

    The reflective chrome finish is esthetically pleasing and unlike any other phone cover on the market. The touch screen cover seems to be impervious to everything keeping the phone in perfect condition but still allows complete access to all functions of the phone. It's made of the same incredibly hard polycarbon as the original but with the added feature of its intense beauty. I'm not kidding when I say I've had so many positive comments on this phone cover that I'm going to have to get them for the rest of my employees.

    We work around animals and that can be a dirty and sometimes messy job. These covers wipe clean and look good even after being exposed to the daily grind of kennel life. If that isn't enough to recommend it just let me add that when we took the phone out of it's case after a full day of pet grooming, there was NO HAIR inside the case.     『I was a little late in getting my I-phone 3GS, so a few friends had gone through several different cases to see what they liked best. Several suggested this one, which retails for much more at the "phone store". I found it here, much more affordable, and have been REALLY happy with it from the beginning. Now I've heard rumors of people complaining that the case scratches to easily. Uhm....it's a case. It's designed to protect the phone from scratches. If the scratches get to bad, buy several and change out your $20 case to protect your $500 phone.... What I like is that all the buttons are available, as well as the ports, and it's sleek enough that I can slide it in and out of my jeans pocket with no problem. If I was a belt clipping phone guy, I'd probably look at The Defender by Otterbox, but that looks to bulky to get in and out of my pocket easily.

    the mute switch opening is too small and i have to flip it with my nail. the headphone opening is also too small. it's fine for the included earphones and i assume most aftermarket earphones, but if you are plugging your iphone into a earphone to rca jacks cord for use with a stereo, you may have to take the case off.

    the mute switch is a minor gripe, and the earphone opening isn't a big deal to me. If you are someone who is always plugging your iphone into your stereo, it may be an issue...but maybe there are other rca cords with smaller plugs you can get.

The fit is tight and your iPhone will never fall out. The only things I'd re-examine in the next generation of the Speck Candyshell are the slightly larger than needed volume and lock button covers. They are just slightly too cumbersome. Also I'd like to see a matte option for the hard shell portion examined. After just a few days, my glossy shell already has micro scratches all over it. But overall, this is probably the best iPhone cover out there. It's slim, adds no real bulk to the iPhone itself and does a great job of protection.』

    『After first trying this product my 1G ipod touch would not charge with either the AC or car adapter. The USB plug is flimsy, and cheaply made. I am a little afraid that it will break something if I use it, however it will charge my ipod when connected to a computer. I notice when my ipod is plugged into the USB on my computer and the audio jack plugged into speakers there is a faint buzzing sound, like there is a poor connection somewhere. This does not happen when plugged in with the official apple ipod usb connector. ...and can you believe it,? all this cool stuff, for only 3 bucks !!!』

    『First- I'm using this in the kitchen as an AM/FM radio as much as a charger/player of music for iphone (so I can't speak to its value as an alarm clock), and I've had it for about a month now, using it daily. It replaced an older high quality radio with the bonus of being an accessory for the phone.

    I think it is just about perfect. Important to me is radio reception and Sony quality and AM&FM antenna ensure it is great (check my other reviews- they're largely for radios). I listen to a mix of NPR (radio but also streaming and podcasts off iphone) and music and sound is perfectly good/loud enough for kitchen&adjacent dining room. Love how the remote integrates with iphone controls. Tiny footprint takes up little space on counter. Big display of time with dimming options make it visible from a distance and can serve as a nightlight if you'd like.

    Cons: echoing others, the slide-out charging tray is slick but seems a bit flimsy. The remote isn't fully functional unless iphone is in ipod mode (unless I'm missing something). A few of the controls (like presets) are on the back, out of site. This probably works well for bedside alarm clock but not for kitchen counter. It is a bit pricy but you get what you pay for. The external AM&FM antenna are great but make for a cord mess.』

    (One Gripe, But it's no show stopper)
    『This is by far the best alarm clock I've ever had. It's nice and small as not to waste any more real estate on your night stand than necessary. It has a remote! The remote really does come in handy for controlling the Ipod/Radio/Vol etc, considering I intentionally make the alarm hard to reach so that I don't just keep pressing snooze. It has an actual antenna, like the ones you get with stereo systems and such, so it picks up stations really well. It has a digital tuner, so you can actually see which station it's on as opposed to guessing if the line is between this station and that. Furthermore it allows up to 20 presets, so you can store all your favorite stations and cycle through them with the remote. It automatically sets the time and updates it when daylight savings takes effect. It lets you set your alarms for only weekdays, weekends, or both so if you only want a alarm for work then you can do so Mon-Fri. Also, when setting up the alarm to wake to radio for instance it allows you to specify which preset to wake to and at what volume to play it at. Overall just an amazing alarm clock. My one gripe, which for most people will probably not be an issue is that the power cord has a transformer on the end of it and it is not detachable from the unit, this presents a problem if your nightstand has a hole in it designed to feed the cables through so that it looks nice, since the transformer is too large to fit through nearly any cable management hole, my night stand has a hutch on it so I can't just let it hang off the back, rather I have to loop it around the front in a very awkward and messy looking configuration. With that said, I still love it, and I'm sure many people don't have a hutch on there nightstand so this likely won't be an issue.』

    『I was looking for a small clock radio that could also play an iPod. This SONY ICF-C7IP fit the bill almost perfectly. My main beef with it is that it's not especially intuitive to use. And, the buttons along the side and back of the unit are too discreet and easily pressed when holding it to set the alarm, causing me to do stuff I didn't mean to do. Without a bright light, you can't see what their functions are.

    Being able to program 2 different alarm times AND separate weekend times are terrific features. I also love the automatic time set and daylight savings time adjustment. No more worrying about forgetting to change the clock twice a year.

    Unlike some reviewers, I don't find the brightness of the clock to be too bright. I keep it on its dimmest setting and that's perfect.

    Given the size of the unit, the sound is decent. I didn't really expect much from it in terms of high fidelity and don't plan on listening to my iPod through it much. Its main use is to be able to wake up to music or podcasts that I've chosen. I'm not even that worried about its ability to pick up FM stations, though it does that reasonably well. Without an AM antenna hooked up, I can't receive any AM stations. That's a total non issue for me, as I never listen to AM these days.

    So far, I've found that my 3rd generation 30GB iPod, 5th generation 80GB iPod, new 160GB iPod, and 2nd generation iPod Touch all work perfectly in the dock and with the supplied remote.

    In all, once I get accustomed to the placement of the buttons and how to set the alarm, it will serve my needs just fine.』

    『I had a really old Panasonic clock radio from the 1980s that I loved but wanted to update the bedroom after I remodeled. I can't figure out why there are literally scores of radios out there from dozens of manufacturers and each with a different gimmick to sell. I settled on the Sony brand because it has always been reliable for me. This particular one from Sony is small, has a large display for night viewing, has a dual alarm, which I needed because I often sleep through one alarm, can use either iPods or an input from another player, and looks great. The reception is always great and the remote was an added bonus that I didn't expect to find useful. I use it all the time because it allows me to place the radio anywhere I want on the night stand and still be able to control it from beyond arm's reach.』

The author explains the how-to aspects of iPhone app development in easy-to-comprehend terms, which is pretty useful if you're trying to teach yourself!

    If you're looking to get on the iPhone app bandwagon, then don't forget to pack this book.』

    (3.5 - 4 stars, generally recommended)
    『I've read through the first nine or so chapters and tried a couple of examples - fairly impressed so far.

    Good:
    + loads of color screenshots.
    + strong on UI description and diagrams.
    + easy read and good flow, without compromising content or making silly jokes all the time.
    + technically most of it is correct, with a few caveats.
    + quite strong on application lifecycle and the authors have an ability to put some points over (sometimes fairly complex points) in a surprisingly efficient and straightforward way.

    Not as good:
    - some typos/errors (missing pointer asterisks, diagrams that don't display what is discussed in the text).
    - some fundamental errors related to properties (@property/@synthesize are not in any way required in order to make use of dot syntax), also the book declares properties and then doesn't use them, but makes the mistake of thinking they're needed in order to access properties of a pre-existing class. Interestingly - and I suspect not entirely unrelated - Mark and LaMarche made the exact same error in the first edition of their Apress iPhone dev book.
    - ok Objective-C coverage but by no means great (though the authors stress the need to read up on it elsewhere).

    The good points outweigh the bad and I'd recommend the book with the provisos: get an Obj-C book to go with it, and you'll probably want to read it with another iPhone dev book to get a different viewpoint (eg. Apress or Pragmatic Programmers).』

    『As a computer scientist, I have read a plethora of programming books that attempt to teach you a particular framework, language, or programming technique. "Beginning iPhone 3 Development: Exploring the iPhone SDK" far surpasses them all in regards to ease of information consumption. I tried many times to learn iPhone development, but I could never find the right book, tutorial, or site to help me get started. Most of Apple's documentation is great for the advanced iPhone programmer, but they are quite lacking when it comes to users who are just coming to the platform. This book was just what I needed to propel me into iPhone development.

    The book explains everything very well, and if there is a concept that they are not yet ready to introduce, or if it is out of the scope of the book, they make sure to inform you of such skips AND provide you resources that will assist you in discovering that particular part of the technology.

    All-in-all this has been a wonderful book that is easy to read and easy to follow. They also offer up-to-date source code at their forums in case you are having trouble or if there is an error in the book. You can even submit corrections/errata for the next edition!

    If you are considering moving to the iPhone platform, I would highly suggest this book to you.』

    『If you intend on learning iPhone development, then go ahead and buy this book without thinking twice. It covers all the basic aspects of iPhone development through a very complete series of examples, it gives you a lot of valuable information and it is well written and easy to follow

    In a word: raccomended』

    (Excellent Beginners iPhone Book, assumes Objective-C knowledge, some errors in sample code)
    『Before you buy a programming book you should learns what's its intended audience and you should read the reviews to know if it's a proper fit to your background. The book assumes no prior knowledge of Java or C++ like some competing iPhone development books, but it does assume that you already know Objective-C. In my case, I hadn't worked in any flavor of C since college.

    Therefore, I read Stephen G. Kochan's excellent "Programming in Objective-C 2.0" Programming in Objective-C 2.0 (2nd Edition) before starting with this book and I had no problems. Although I took many C and Unix courses in college (many moons ago) my programming experience is mostly with VBA and databases on Windows PC's, so if I was able to understand the material, so should many of you with experience in more advanced development languages such as Java or C++. Note that Kochan's book is intended, as an introductory programming book, and it does not assume any previous programming knowledge of any kind, including "C". If you were a raw beginner in computer programming, I would strongly recommend Kochan's book before you try your hand at this one.

    I started reading the first edition and I switched to this one when it was published. This edition corrects many of the typos and sample code errors from the first edition but unfortunately it also introduces some new ones of its own. For the first edition, the authors did an excellent job publishing errata on their website but for this edition none has been published as of this writing. I suspect the author is very busy working on other iPhone development books he has coming out in the near future. Still, I was able to use common sense to work around some of the minor errors in this edition. Most programming books I've seen in my career have errors of some sort and you should always lookup the errata from the publisher's web sites. Having read both editions, I believe the authors seemed to have done a good job updating their samples to SDK 3 conventions.

    Finally, other reviewers have criticized this book for not covering some details. As the title states, this is a "Beginning" book. When you finish reading this and you want to learn more you should read the Apple documentation or other iPhone sub-topic specific books. I look forward to reading the author's upcoming "More iPhone 3 Development: Tackling iPhone SDK 3". The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because of the remaining errors in the sample code and the lack of errata (as of this writing) for this edition.』

    『The KD-AVX77 is the deck I have been waiting for. I have always wanted my concerts on DVD in my truck and now I have them! The Bluetooth audio is EXCELLENT, pairing is a snap and the sound is like a CD. The iPod cable works great and the features this deck has allows you to image the music anyway you like.

    The phone feature using the iPhone 3GS is so nice. Hands free calls are clear and clean, no one has complained about their end sounding like you are in a tube with the supplied microphone. No more hiding from the police where talking and driving is banned and no more aggravation with an earpiece!

    All the touch screen functions are easy and allow you to keep your eyes on the road. The great thing is once you get the deck setup, there is just a little fine tuning for each source type and BAM, you're done.

    Get one only if you love music in your vehicle as much as live and loud!』

    『JVC KD-AVX77 Is all I expected and MORE! It all started as a CORVETTE brake job... Found my 20 year old stereo and Amps all eaten up by a small rodent that had long expired. I completely started from Scratch. Wow! what an outcome. This system does it all in a single DIN Mount. The DVD, iPod, Bluetooth, MP3, CD, and other formats round my upgrade to my old '76. Welcome to the Future. I am very Satisfied with everything. I elected to go with a single 2,3,4 AMP 30Wx4 for 10" Dual Voice coil SUB, center channel and used the internal 50 Watt Peak 4 channels in the 4 corners on this JVC Unit. I added the JVC CS-CN100 Center Channel Speaker and now I cruise in my new Car Media Center in comfort. I tend to use the remote control for safety while driving. I custom built all Speakers enclosures with Pyle Blue-Wave Triax, Blue Wave PL1090BL Sub and Component cross-overs to tune the system. Haven't found a way to upgrade to the 15" Sub. This System ROCKS! Thanks to JVC and Amazon.com for bringing them all together! (Batman)』

    『I wanted the best receiver that would fit in my single DIN space. Decided not to go with flip screen because of souped up engine and significant car vibration (Lotus Elise). Bought JVC kd-avx77 deck. Installed professionally. I like the touch screen, the features. Has been reliable and with good sound quality. Am using virtually all the optional accessories (HD radio, Sirius, rearview cam, ipod) without difficulty.

    Dislikes: 1) No volume knob. Difficult to control tweaking the sound level fast accurately. 2) Screen is TOO SMALL. The screen is really wide but really needs more vertical space. Otherwise pictures like the DVD playback and rear view cam are smaller than a business card because height is only like 1.8" and width is proportional to height. 3) The buttons have small fonts on them that are difficult to read. Particularly if you have a screen saver on the background. They need larger symbols on the softkeys. 4) Difficult to read in the daytime, especially with top down. Forget about watching a movie until after dark. 5) Softkeys suck compared to real keys. 6) has locked up on me twice requiring reboot and reprogram (takes about 5 minutes, except for presets) 7) havent found a library of background images for this receiver, am making one, but where to post? 8) DESPIRATELY needs antiglare coating on screen. screen images are overlaped over reflection of car interior.

    El Kameleon Control Panel
    The single-din receiver's 5.4" ultra wide monitor is constructed with a high-resolution 192,000 pixel TFT panel capable of over thousands of display colors. This TFT panel can display aspect ratios up to 3:32:1 for a super-wide Cinemascope viewing experience. The ultra wide monitor can also display multimedia video and AV input content at the same time in split screen mode. The KD-AVX77 also boasts a wide viewing angle free of screen glares, making the monitor clearly visible from every angle. Another new feature is full touch screen capability, which allows the entire TFT panel to dual-task as the receiver"s control panel. This receiver also features a built-in electrostatic proximity sensor, which illuminates the screen when the user approaches it with their hand. Otherwise, it's pitch black--El Kameleon.

    Customizable Interface
    The KD-AVX77 lets you make it your own by selecting touch-key layouts and designs, colors, and wallpaper. You can also upload a favorite JPEG picture to use as the wallpaper.

    Built-in Bluetooth Wireless Technology
    The KD-AVX77 features built-in Bluetooth for hands-free calling while driving. Phone calls can be made easily and received directly through the receiver, while voice recognition technology enables immediate dialing from the driver's cell phone without the distraction of handling the phone while driving. Phonebook entries can be stored and accessed on the receiver and text message notification can also be displayed on-screen.

    JVC also includes PBAP, or "Phonebook Access Profile" capability. This feature allows direct view and selection of phonebook entries without requiring any additional action or information transfer. PBAP also allows access to all phonebook entries, regardless of how many number entries are stored in the cell phone's memory.

    Bluetooth connectivity also allows music enthusiasts to listen to their favorite songs and artists wirelessly from iPod/iPhone, cell phone, or other Bluetooth enabled devices through the receiver.

    CD and DVD Playback

    The KD-AVX77 features GIGA MP3 MULTI, which plays MP3, WMA, or WAV files burned on DVD. With MP3 and WMA files, the 4.7GB capacity of a DVD can store up to 2,500 songs on a single disc--equal to 250 pre-recorded CDs. If you want even more superior sound quality, WAV files can be burned onto a DVD. WAV is an uncompressed PC music file format that delivers CD-quality sound. A single DVD disc can store 100 WAV files--equal to 10 pre-recorded CDs. Now you can enjoy non-stop entertainment with CD-quality sound, without an additional CD changer.
