At first when I heard the "digging song" (one of the first songs) I thought "Oh no, this DVD is going to be SO corny"! Then I looked over at my son and he was totally engrossed in watching it ! There are a few (corny by ADULT standards) songs on the DVD and yes, there are (corny by adult standards) people giving the equipment different "voices" and names but my three year old LOVES it. The songs are not too long and there is plenty of quiet time where it's just the machines working.
There are different episodes/adventures on the DVD and each one is really good. There is a construction site, a quarry, demoltion, etc. Each segment is fairly educational as there is a child's level explanation for what each different machine/vehicle is for.
My son gets his toy construction vehicles out and plays with them while he watches the DVD. I have caught him in his room singing the "digging song" a few times and it's so cute. He will even do the voices when he's playing with his toys in his room.
I would say if your child LOVES to watch equipment at work, with NO frills then this is the DVD for you.
The ONLY negative I can think of is that we WISH that the real motor sounds were louder. My son loves to hear the engine noises.

I just recently found out about this "Jane Fonda's New Workout (1986)" tape and ordered a used copy. Two weeks after receiving this VHS tape I played it once to observe it, the 2nd time I exercised with it; however, the 3rd time I tried to use it the VHS machine kept immediately ejecting it. So, I thought perhaps I forgot to rewind it. (I put a different VHS tape in the machine which worked fine.) I tried rewinding the Jane Fonda VHS tape on a VHS rewinder machine to no avail. Obviously the Jane Fonda VHS tape mechanism was shot after the 2nd usage. I paid over $15.00 for this tape which was advertised as "very good, like new." So, what do I do with this unusable VHS tape. I am retired and on a set income with limited funds.』

I kept telling her "yeah, it's great writing - but you have to SEE Martin Short eating that salt while trying to pretend that it's no big deal. HILARIOUS!" I jotted down a note to purchase the DVD version on Amazon tonight. So I logged in to my account for the first time in months, (I've missed you, Amazon) and now I'm flabbergasted. WHAT?!? This movie isn't on DVD?!?!?!? Are you effing KIDDING me?! This is one of the funniest films of Martin Short's career! I have spent WAY too long (it's embarrassing, really) sifting through the Hollywood BILE that makes up the Walmart DVD bargain bin. I'm utterly insulted that some of those titles were made into DVD and not this ridiculously funny movie. I guess it must have been made by a small production company or there were legal issues or something stupid. I don't know how Hollywood works, but to let a jewel like this slip through the cracks while making movies like the ones I see in the bargain bin into DVD's is a shame. A crying shame. The first advantage is this collection has the disk collected in ten slim line cases, which cuts down on your shelf space considerably compared to previous releases and their full sized DVD cases. Also this release has a pretty extensive PRINTED episode guide booklet that gives more than just a synopsis. You also get a little history of the making of that episode.
Now these extras may not be worth the double dipping for those who already bought the previous sets, but for those who never took the plunge now is the time. Not only do you get the great features from the original set, but also stuff you can read and enjoy without having to put a disk in your player. I give the higher rating for this set, which is a more complete and more compact set than all the rest (minus one for not getting it right the first time).』
(A&E should be ashamed of itself for deceiving the people) 『Let's say you're a business that already has made a wonderful "40th Anniversary Version" of a DVD set with all the bells and whistles... now why should you then be allowed to create a different version of the same thing only a few years later?
A&E should be ashamed of themselves for doing what everyone lately is now doing: they've realized that (most) of the DVD buying public will buy ANYTHING if you re-package it as a "Special Collection," or a "Ultimate Collection," "Director's Cut," "Unrated Cut" or "Extended Cut."
But in the case of "The Prisoner: The Complete Series Megaset (Collector's Edition)," we are seeing the "40th Anniversary Set", just with new packaging.
I have been surfing around as of late and have found NOTHING to describe to me what's included in the "new" package.
Any new interviews? I don't know. Any new lost footage? I don't know. Any kind of newer extras not on the "Anniversary version"? I don't know. Any other information anywhere online about what's on it at all? I don't know. Remastered? They were the first time around. Blu-Ray? Yes, but this could have been done with the same package.
You see where I'm going here. To quote the A&E website, who is also selling it, they are only saying "Within this complete 17-episode set, all is revealed. Or is it?"
Now what kind of garbagey pap is that? What's the technical end? What's included that is different from what's already out there? It makes me wonder why they even needed to remake a "Collector's Set" in the first place.
It is essentially the "40th Anniversary" DVD box set, just repackaged with a new set of covers. As far as I can see from the item descriptions of both sets IT'S THE SAME ITEM THEY SOLD TO US A FEW YEARS BACK.
To be honest, I was happy with that set as it fed my obsession, and I thought there was nowhere else to go with it. SEE FOR YOURSELF!...

This only leads me to CONCLUDE that they are neither adding nor subtracting anything to this release except to repackage a horse that's been in the corral for over 3 years. But the question remains: Why are they doing this?
Well, it's simple: to sell DVD sets to lots of naive customers who didn't know the "Anniversary Set" exists and then buy essentially the SAME ITEM at a higher price!
Used box sets of the "40th" are pretty cheap right now, so why buy the redesigned package? - except to make A&E a few dollars more. Oh, and it's no small coincidence that they are releasing it about the same time as the upcoming AMC series "Prisoner" reboot.
This is sad, and once again, A&E should be ashamed of themselves.
And, to sidebar a moment about that new series...
Now, even though Ian McKellen has been chosen to play Number Two (and that's okay), how can anyone justify American actor Jim Caviezel as Number Six when we all know this was a British actor's dream role?
I really can't really name a movie or show he's been in where he impressed me EXCEPT for his performance in "Frequency," which according to the IMDB website, is all he's ever done in the sci-fi realm.
I guess I'm picky when it comes to my choice of The Prisoner, because you would think they'd put someone in there with a backbone - and DOESN'T CRY IN EVERY SINGLE ROLE HE'S BEEN IN. This potentially sounds HORRIBLE.
I say give me Clive Owen, he seems sullen enough, and he proved to me he could tackle the complexities of sci-fi in his dazzling role in "Children of Men."
(Back to the DVD review, as I'm digressing too much here... but to get a bit personal now...)
Cash is king and AMC and A&E are warming their collective hands over the bones of the highly-protective-of-the-series Patrick McGoohan, whom they waited patiently until he died so that they could then start mining his show that he created and wanted left untouched.
And to be honest, there are more than a few of us who'd also like to leave this kept pure as well. No, we didn't need a remake or a reboot, and there are SO many people I know who've asked why do it at all?
The release of this DVD set only goes to show me integrity, like clothing, can be shed for the right price, and AMC and A&E will NEVER receive another consumer dollar from ME.
Once again, since there are no technical details available anywhere except from what I found on this very website, I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to assume that it's the same set just re-packged to deceive people, and because of that I'm giving this one star.
THERE IS NO INFORMATION AVAILABLE ABOUT WHAT'S ON IT THAT'S NEW, so why award a company clearly out for profit?
For the last time, and I'll be honest, it won't be the last time for me... A&E should BE ASHAMED OF ITSELF for doing this.

The voice casting of Crystal and Goodman is phenomenal, and the two play off of each other so well that they create some hilarious moments on screen. Both though are allowed to fully develop their characters, and the relationship between Mike and Sulley is given the freedom to grow and change throughout the film, and this is key to the story's success. Had the enormously talented Crystal's Wazowski only been seen as the comedic sidekick of Sulley, and never given the liberty to go through his own personal character arc, a much weaker picture would have emerged. Directors Pete Docter, David Silverman and Lee Unkrich though do not go for the easy gag, but rather stay true to each of the character's own motivations, thus allowing their relationship with one another to organically grow throughout the film. By doing so, the team of Mike and Sulley become one of the most memorable from the Pixar catalogue.
Seeing the film in HD at home with the Blu-ray release of the film is in a word, breathtaking. Even though the film is now almost nine years old, the animation in MONSTERS, INC. is still beyond compare. Not only is the world of Monstropolis so completely artistically original and populated with such unique interpretations of monsters, but the level of detail in the animation is staggering. Looking at some of the skin textures of some of the monsters will quickly illustrate how much time and attention to detail went into animating the film, but by far, the scene that best exemplifies just how good the animation in MONSTERS, INC. is involves Mike and Sulley being banished to the Himalayas. Here, the thick blue and purple fur that covers Sulley's body can be seen blowing in the winter storm as small pieces of snow become stuck within it. The animation in this scene alone ranks as among the best, and serves as a milestone in computer animation excellence. Being able to see it in HD at home will bring an entirely new level of admiration for what the filmmakers were able to achieve with the movie.
For the Blu-ray release, Disney is including four discs that include the Blu-ray version of the film, a DVD version, a digital copy and a Blu-ray disc of bonus features. There is so much value with this set, that it, along with the similar edition of UP that is being released on the same day, will prove to be must have Blu-rays for everyone's collection and are rightly sure to be one of the most popular gifts given this holiday season.

(Sheer fun - family entertainment) 『IMHO the two best Disney pictures of the past decade plus are Monsters Inc. and The Incredibles. (ok, Toy Story may come close, but it's primarily a boy's movie)
Monsters Inc. is VERY appropriate for boys or girls; and family viewing. I guarantee that both young and old will enjoy the story - and young children will not be frightened by these monsters. The heart of the movie is the relationship that develops between Sully (big blue fur ball) and Boo - the child that manages to enter the monster world. Children enjoy the fact that mosters are as afraid of children as human children often are of monsters. It's a real ground leveler. Though there are 'good' and 'bad' monsters in the show, good triumphs and it leaves everyone feeling happy in the end.
Disney sells a wonderful 26" stuffed Sully for about $30. If you want to make those little eyes light up this Christmas, consider a present including both the movie and the stuffed animal. It's guaranteed to make the most timid child unafraid of bedtime.』

(This film has style) 『First, let me just say that it is a very, very good and funny movie, but I will come back to its many good points. I have to say that as a Pixar / Disney movie it lacked something from the pervious Toy Stories, but at first I could not quite put my finger on the problem. However after reviewing other digital movie I now can see the main problem. Lets start with Titan A.E. digital quality mostly excellent, however no realism in most scenes, other then the people which often seemed cartoonish. Final Fantasy, very, very good graphics the people very real, although the surrounding environment, was the Fantasy. Now Shrek not commenting on the story line, the environment from the grass to the buildings were just perfect, and put the unreal characters in a setting which MADE them real, so we felt that the film was real. Toy Story 1&2, again especially in the 2nd the environment was perfect, also because it was in a place which we all recognises (an average city) it made everything seem real. Now finally Monsters Inc, the graphics were another step up from Toy Story 2, however all the realism was gone. This was because of where the film was set, take the scene where Sulley and Wazowski are walking down the street, on the way they pass funny cars, a Jelly Monster, and a giant and you feel that the realism we got in Toy Story is lost. Having said that the world they created was very funny, and for a change you could feel in the graphics Disney's involvement, leading to many cartoonish environments, with a Pixar's touch. Having said all that this film was brilliant, and the graphics on the little girl `Boo' we excellent. I could comment on the fact that the story line is very predicable, but it's aimed at kids and so is very easy for them to understand. As I said earlier it is a very funny movie, with a lot more comedy then Toy Story had. All the characters have certain funny quirks and mannerisms, which adds to the laughs. Also I have to say that although John Goodman did a very good job as Sulley, for me Billy Crystal made the movie his own, as the voice of Wazowski bringing more then an extra dimension to the character. Although I have to say I didn't for some reason connect to the characters as I did with Toy Story, but that could just be me. Another thing that I have to point out is the ending, well after the ending, like Toy Story 2 there's funny outtakes, but then there more and takes credits to another level. I would recommend people to go and see the movie just to see the end, and was still sitting even when the screen went black waiting for more. Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Fantastic product for a great price) 『After reading the other reviews I felt pretty comfortable ordering this item and after using this player I can tell you the reviews are dead-on. Got it in just a few days. Installation was a breeze. As mentioned above, the power and a/v cables are routed through each of the post, it was very easy to reach up behind the back of the seat to get the cables. The a/v cables are input and output...it is NOT necessary to hook them up, only the power and ground are needed for the units to work independently. The in/out a/v's are used in case you want to watch what is one player on the other. The remote has a dvd/av button so you can switch between the dvd that is inserted in the unit or what the other unit is watching. You could also hook up anything else that had a/v (yellow, red, white) outputs. The remotes have a very short range and have to be directly aimed at the unit you want to control so you don't have to worry about someone using the remote on unit A and it affecting unit B. They will play just about anything I've put in them, even VCDs. Haven't had any luck using the usb with mp4 files yet however but not a big deal. Haven't had one skip yet and they were used on a 11 hr trip almost non-stop. They also have a zip-up cover that protects the screen when not in use.』
(Good, some issues) 『Installation was actually easier than I thought. There are a couple of YouTube videos that go over the steps for a generic player (no this one) - but the theory is the same. The two big issues are getting access to the cables inside the seat (access under your seat covers) and wiring up the power.
The seat cover access was quite easy, once I worked out how to do it without damaging the seat. The power was more difficult. Instead I decided to hook it up to a generic cig lighter with some tape. The cables are very long, so a few cable ties came in handy to tidy things up.
The quality of the players is very good. We've had a number of external portable car players, and all of them have broken or failed to play disks. These players are far better and all disks play fine. They are already region free, so they play our collection of region 2 disks out of the box.
The only issues so far...
These are Chinese players. The manual in the box is written in very poor English. This leads to a bit of trial and error to get things to work. The on-screen menus are pretty good, so this is not really a problem.
The supplied earphones are very good, but are based on IR transmission. These suffer from some reception problems and some background noise. It looks like they have the capability to be wired, but I haven't tried it yet.
The other problem is the support for SD Cards. Firstly, these players do not support SDHC, so the cards are limited to 2GB. There is a USB option, so a thumb drive can be used at a larger capacity. It's also not clear which video codecs are supported. MP4 H.264 at 240 lines does not seem to work, this need further experimentation. If I work it out I will post an update.』
(Wonderful Addition) 『After searching for several months, we decided on this product based upon other reviews and price. The product arrived on time. While we did have a small issue with the game controller the seller was more than helpful in getting new controllers sent. The headrest were installed in a Ford Windstar and took about 3 hours. The wireless headphones work on the center seats and in the far rear seat also which is important when we need to seperate the kids.
The clarity of the 7" screen is remarkable and the sound thru the vehicle system or the built in speakers is very clear. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking to make the long road trips a little easier. Pictures coming soon.』
(Great price - high quality product) 『The headrests arrived about 3 days after I had placed the order. They were brand new in original packaging with no brand name of any kind on the factory box. They are well-made, sturdy and attractive. The metal posts have adjustable widths so that they would fit in a variety of seats. The instructions are very vague, but we installed them ourselves after finding out that a local car audio shop would charge $200 for professional installation. It only took us about 2 hours to install and that includes unhooking the car battery, and tucking all of the extra wires under the seats.
We removed the plastic backing off of the backs of our front seats in our Chrysler Town/Country minivan. We fed the long wires down through the seat backs and under the seat so that they came out from under the front of each seat. We removed the plastic cover off of the front console and wired both headrests into one of the power outlets in the console. Before touching any wires, we disconnected the negative terminal of the car battery. We wired the blue wire from the power outlet to both red wires from the headrests. Then we wired the black wire from the power outlet to both black wires from the headrests. We reattached the car battery and both DVD players were fully operational. We also hooked the a/v out cables from one headrest into the a/v in cables from the other headrest so that both kids can watch the same DVD. Even though there is no brand name anywhere on the headrest or unit, there is a part inside the DVD player that reads "Sony". We are very pleased with the high quality picture and overall product.』
(Amazing Value - Very Good Quality) 『The DVD players are sturdy and offer dozens of functions not found on OEM systems. The guts of the DVD players are clearly marked Sony. The tan head rests are well constructed and they match the leather in our Navigator. They play DVD-Rs and Video CDs with no issues. Movies can also be watched from a thumb drive or an SD card in several different digital formats. Some MP4s will play, others won't. The head phones have two channels and work perfectly with either DVD player. Video quality is surprisingly good, especially after changing the default setting of PAL to NTSC. Basic functions are on the front of the DVD player, but advanced functions require you use the remote control. The 32 BIT games are for children over 10. The 8 BIT games (optional) are old 1970-1980s arcade favorites and the younger kids love them.
Installation was easy taking about 90 minutes to do a professional level job. The pre-installed Power and Video/Audio-Out line runs down one post of the head rest while the Video/Audio-In line runs down the other post. The cables dropped through the back of the seat and were easily routed down the side of the seat and beneath the center console (comepletely out of sight). I removed the back panel of the center console where I connected the Video/Audio cables and tapped off of a cigarette lighter power cable for the 12VDC. The cables are very long giving you all kinds of cable routing options. The first time I returned a costume that was too large I was told I wouldn't get my money back because of some flaw - which is quite funny becuase we took the costume out of the box, saw it was too large, and sent it back. The "flaw" they were talking about obviously was one the costume came with, since it was not from us. I'm not bothering with a return again. We'll just make it work. My suggestion is to find another costume company to buy from. I know the toddler size is from totally costumes, as for the other sizes, you may have more luck with because they are from other companies. My son really does love it, and it is a cute costume, which is what makes the whole process so frustrating.』

This is, on the most simplistic level, a novel, but obviously qusifiction meant to demonstrate metephysical points. Here is what I gleened
1-The less attached you are to objects, ideas or goals, the more happy you will be. Your happiness simply IS: it does not depend on external events.
2-Hard work and getting down to the essentials of life is one way to strip away the attachments and get back to the natural self--again, the happiness that IS
3-No actions are good or bad, habits and states of being are
All this is interesting, and I find great sympathy with it, even though at times it is impossible to impliment. Since Worrier is written in fiction style, it is sometimes hard to internalize each lesson in your mind--a lot of the ideas are extremely abstract. Even Dan has not really gotten it when he is so sure he has. Perhaps a summery of concepts as an apendix would help.
I also wonder: Is this the path to enlightenment, or DAN's path. Are the techniques Socraties uses his, or is he shape shifting just for what Dan needed at the time.
As a learning coach myself, I am not a beliver in demanding more and more, the best not being good enough. Socraties can be pretty hard on Dan, but is this his inharent approach, or just the one he morphed around Dan's initial brattiness and vainess.

Luckily for me, I also bought this one. And after I finished the first one I jumped STRAIGHT into this one. While this book is pretty standalone, its true value lies within reading it AFTER you read the first, because the first explains the terms and the methods and everything, and this is a list of examples of big, well-known movies.
If after the first book you thought "Are movies really that easily categorized?" then this book will answer your question big time. So if you read the first one and are considering buying this, do it. It goes hand in hand. If you haven't bought any, I suggest you get them both and read them in order. If not, just get the first one. Maybe I'm biased but I don't think this book does that well on its own.』

I think this book gives insight on what Hollywood producers look for in a great script. I'm going through this book page by page and using it's resources to help make my script better. I highly recommend this book for anyone wanting to get into this field.』

Having thoroughly enjoyed the first Save the Cat! book, I was really looking forward to reading this one. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get past page seven. I was incredibly disappointed. No kidding.
In his description of the movie Alien, I got to the line where Mr. Snyder writes: We also learn something is up with Tom.
Having seen Alien countless times since its theatrical release in 1979, I am quite confident that there are no characters in the story named Tom. Who the heck is Tom? That's when I was horrified to discover that the author used the actor's name in place of the character's name within the context of the story.
I couldn't read any more pages after that. The book is completely ruined for me. Like most people, I relate to the story by the character's name, not the actor's. It is too taxing on my tiny brain to read the story description and continually have to substitute Tom for Dallas, Sigourney for Ripley, Ian for Ash, etc. Throughout the whole story, the name Ripley is used one time, and that's to introduce Sigourney Weaver. C'mon! This is Ripley's story, not Sigourney Weaver's!
If I struggle this much to decipher an 8-character story that I'm completely familiar with, then I'm FUBAR when it comes to any epic stories that are new to me. I flipped though the book, and sure enough, Mr. Snyder wrote all the story descriptions the same way.
If you look at the movie quotes at imdb.com, they all reference the character not the actor. So why did Mr. Snyder write movie descriptions contrary to the established norm? My tiny brain cannot comprehend the possible reasons. The author might be on a first name basis with all the actors in the book, but most of us readers are not. To illustrate, I bet that my improper Forrest Gump quote is still resonating throughout the reader's gray matter.
I like to entertain the idea that a future edition of this Save the Cat! book eliminates this most egregious of errors. If the author makes all the character/actor substitutions for me, I will gladly pre-order the new and improved version. Until then, I'll just re-read the first six pages. They're great!

What!?) 『Didnt let me down. im a spider fan myself. when i played the first one i didnt like it at all. the controls where all goofy and the story was all jack'd up. i didnt want to play it again. but after see'n spiderman 2 i went out and bought the game. after a few minutes of playing i was hook'd. this is way better then any other superhero game ever made. you get to perform all of spider man moves from the movie as well as a few that was off screen. the story line is very good. it doesnt drift of or anything. the side missions are very fun. the boss battles dont disappoint either. there are tons of unlockables, even after you beat it you still have stuff to unlock. i still play this game today. its has a very high replay value. you will not be disappointed.』

There are a couple of times in the game that become annoying. Of course, the kid who loses his balloon is always annoying. But the hardest part of the game is when you have to do the Statue of Liberty mission. It is always annoying. Overall, this game is definitely recommended』
