(A repurchase of an old favorite)
『I was glad to find this book at a reasonable price. I wanted to review and use some of the exercise I used years ago that were very effective. It is a calm approach to very small but specific movements that produce quick and dramatic results. An oldie but still very good to add to an exercise routine. I like the quiet and calm approach for a change.』

『I started this last year when I turned 40 and my body started to go, er, south -- cellulite and sagging where I had never had it before and a thicker waistline. Ugh. Anyway, I had heard very good things about Callanetics and decided to try it out. Within a few sessions, I actually saw and felt a difference. No other workout I've tried has ever given me such quick results. It's now my go-to whenever I feel the need to rachet up my workout and want to see quick(er) results. Most of the time, I forgo watching the video and do the ab series and thigh/tush series while watching TV. It's a great way to firm up while I catch up on my favorite shows or the news.

Pros:
- very quick results
- firms up problem areas like, arms, hips, thighs, abs, and tush
- core muscles feel stronger very quickly -- I don't just mean the abs
- no need for a full hour to get the benefits of the workout. I usually break it up into segments to fit the excercises into my regular routine
- no special equipment needed
- really love how relaxed but refreshed I feel after I do the full hour

Cons:
- can get boring
- production value is not good
- I find Callan Pickney to be amusing/charming but others may find her (too) annoying
- at first it's a little straining on the neck muscles
- not a fat burning or cardiovascular routine! It's a muscle toning and low-impact routine

(This is a film about the friends and the Christimas rush)
『One of my goals it to help families not by films that they already have. If someone had the DVD A Very Merry Poor Year, it contains this story of Pooh and Friends trying to get their wish list to Santa Claus before Christmas. Pooh and Piglet find the letter did not make it too Santa, so they try to give everyone their wished for gift. Of course everyone does not understand why Santa would give them gifts that are not really what they wished for. Pooh is reveled as Santa and explains how sorry he did not send the letter the right way. Christopher Robin comes bearing Santa's gifts and everyone learns the care about each other more than they care about presents and that Christmas is really about love and friendship.』

(A SIMPLY DELIGHTFUL SPECIAL FOR KIDS)
『This is one of the better Christmas specials for young kids and was a favorite of my teenager when he was little. Pooh, Christopher Robin and the rest of the gang all write a letter to Santa Claus to tell him what they want for Christmas. After mailing the letter, Pooh realizes he forgot to ask for a gift. The gang then try and get the letter back and send it north but it just blows back. They soon realize it's Christmas Eve and it's too late. Pooh then tries to disguise himself as Santa to give the gang a nice Christmas and eventually everything works out in the long run.

A very good special with heart and laughs. The animation is very good unlike the regular Pooh TV show of the 190's and the late Paul Winchell does the voice of Tigger. Delightful and kids will love it.』

『I grew up on Winnie the Pooh and it still remains one of my favorite series. The voice actors are wonderful, I always found Pooh's voice so soothing and calm. He reminded me of Mr. Rodgers who I loved, as I was never a fan of Sesame Street. Even though now I am an old teenager (I only thought a kid's review would be appropriate here)I still love this show and encourage kid's of all ages to watch it. When I first saw this special, I was only a few years old but I loved it. It is by far the best Pooh movie. A Christmas Classic for all ages (along with the snowman). It is so wonderful to have such great friends at pooh corner!』

『One of the greatest films of all time, GWTW is a fascinating depiction of Southern life during and after the Civil War. This review, however, is for the product, not the film. I give the product four out of five stars for the following reasons:

1) This edition comes with many extras, even a recreation of the program used 70 years ago. Also included is a sample of the original motion picture soundtrack and roughly eight hours worth of bonus features, including documentaries, commentary, and more. While the product description mentions ten 5"x7" water color pictures (which it does include), it also comes with recreated telegrams, letters and more from the cast, crew and production company.

2) The film transfer is beautifully done. The film flows smoothly and is featured on two DVDs. While that is rather annoying, having to get up and change DVDs or wait as the player automatically shifts between the two, that sacrifice for the beauty of the film is well worth it.

3) The price is rather high for what you get. I love the film and had no problem paying the money for it, but the price is still rather high. Taking into account all the facts that there are only 150,000 copies out there, the price seems rather reasonable for such a "rare" item. Even with that, it's still rather high.

All in all, definitely worth the value you put into it. One quick side note here before I finish. The film IS presented in original format, which is FULLSCREEN. Films prior to 1953 were not shown in theaters in what we now know as WIDESCREEN. This was developed in the early fifties during the television boom to help add to the experience movie-goers wanted. EVEN WITH THAT IN MIND, the set is great and I highly recommend it.

(70th Anniversary Collector's Edition Blu-ray WOW!)
『I usually don't like purchasing collector's edition boxes as I don't usually care for the extra items and they are bulky to store. The boxed set of Gone With The Wind impressed me though. It is elegantly packaged in red velvet box and the extra items are awesome as well, like the David Selznick memos about choosing among Clark Gable, Gary Cooper and Errol Flynn for the role of Rhett, the hardbound photo book and souvenir program reproduction. The price at Amazon was also almost half the regular price, so the purchase was well worth it. Best of all, I got the set yesterday on the day of release, even though I used the free-shipping option. I noticed that Amazon is now using Ontrac for delivery and the orders seem to arrive much quicker.

Now for the blu-ray itself...the transfer is simply awesome. The color correction and clarity are breathtaking. I actually noticed wrinkles on Vivien Leigh and Leslie Howard's faces, which make you realize that they were actually older than the roles they played. The film is in the original 1.33 aspect ratio, which was common for movies in those days. I know some people are looking for the widescreen version, which this film was not originally shot in. If you have a good HDTV, the solution is simple by viewing using wide zoom to fill the screen. You lose part of the top and bottom details, but there's usually not much there. I do mind when they crop the sides to make widescreen fit regular screens (pan&scan) as you lose lots of details on the sides. However, if you want to see this movie in its original glory with all the details, then watch it in the original aspect ratio. I also like that the whole movie is in one disc for continuous viewing without having to change discs. You know how long it sometimes takes to load a blu-ray disc, but this one loads fast as they don't have the elaborate menus to slow it down.

There are many extras on the second disc and the only one I viewed so far was the restoration process, which is always fascinating to me because of the age of the movie.

Overall, this collection is well worth the purchase. I just wonder what they will come up next for the 75th anniversary. Maybe by that time HDTV's can display at 8000p and we'll end up seeing more details than available now.』

『David O. Selznick wantedGone with the Windto be somehow more than a movie, a film that would broaden the very idea of what a film could be and do and look like. In many respects he got what he worked so hard to achieve in this 1939 epic (and all-time box-office champ in terms of tickets sold), and in some respects he fell far short of the goal. While the first half of this Civil War drama is taut and suspenseful and nostalgic, the second is ramshackle and arbitrary. But there's no question that the film is an enormous achievement in terms of its every resource--art direction, color, sound, cinematography--being pushed to new limits for the greater glory of telling an American story as fully as possible. Vivien Leigh is still magnificently narcissistic, Olivia de Havilland angelic and lovely, Leslie Howard reckless and aristocratic. As for Clark Gable: we're talking one of the most vital, masculine performances ever committed to film.--Tom Keogh

『I really enjoyed the motion picture Chess Records and the music was very good actually awesome, however this soundtrack is really not what I expected it to be. I love all types of music and I can listen to just about anything. I am not a beyonce fan and really dont care for her at all but I love Etta James and Howlin Wolf and the many others from this era. I was looking for a soundtrack that contained all of the songs that made the movie a hit.

The song that made Howlin wolf famous smokestack is not on here, instead there are songs that only exerts were played in the movie, now I dont know about you but the songs that made the movie heartfelt are gone from the soundtrack, maybe this is why so many people are getting rid of the CD. I wish there was either more song from the movie on here or there were just more songs added to this CD from the motion picture.

(Fun but look out for originals first...)
『Surprisingly effective and enjoyable musical re-telling of story about legendary "Chess records".
To be honest,I must admit that I was dead set against it,expecting the worst,but it turned out to be not bad at all. Everyone familiar with originals will get a kick from energy and enthusiasm these kids show towards their ancestors - surely,some songs fare better than others ("Bridging the Gap" is awful experiment that combines rural blues and rap?) and Beyonce is completely wrong for the role of Etta James,but besides few nit-pickings the whole soundtracks works out just fine.
Some material is kept close to originals,others (Chuck Berry's "Nadine") turned a bit around but it's sort of modernized "Chess" sound and great fun.
The best thing about the soundtrack and the movie is that young cinema-goers might look out for the originals after they hear this.』

『I caught my 5 week old son staring at the saints game on tv and was thinking "no way he is actually watching this", so we popped in this baby beethoven dvd someone bought us before he was born to see if he really would watch it this early. He loves it! We watched this morning and I dont think he turned his head away from the tv once. I even turned him around and he turned his head with the tv. It works.』

『We were surprised how my baby son's attention was held by this on the tv screen at 2 months and continue to be surprised at how much he still totally loves it at 11 months. He also now laughs in recognition when the same musical pieces are being played by a normal orchestra over the radio, which I think is just amazing for a baby less than a year old when we made no effort to push him unnaturally. I was leery of a dvd being like an "electronic babysitter", but really, Mommy having a few moments to make herself a cup of tea just sets us up for better interactions all morning, and it is actually true that Baby is getting some real musical enthusiasm and development from it!』

『My 9 month old daughter started watching Baby Beethoven at about 6 weeks and loved it immediately. This is still, hands down, her favorite Baby Einstein DVD. She smiles just seeing the Disney intro and caterpillar. When she is truly fussy the DVD is the only thing that calms her down. I highly recommend it for younger babies.』

『My 15 month old daughter was enraptured by this DVD from the first time I put it on. The format is great and it's a very charming package. I have to say this was the first time I have danced to Fur Elise! Appears to be a very attractive program for this age range and I would highly recommend it. The main piece is only about 30 minutes long, but there is an auto play feature which allows it to be continuously repeated.

On the downside there is a LOT of preamble to the actual program and she gets bored waiting for that to be over with, even the bits you can fast forward through, and the blackout spots between the special features are unusually long for any DVD let alone a children's program. Wasn't particularly impressed with the special features - the puppet shows are just short pieces lifted straight out of the main program, and the flash card pictures aren't all very illustrative for the age group the DVD is intended for.』

I got all of the set through Netflix and saw it that way. I would very much like to won THE WIZARD OF OZ on Blu-ray, but I'm going to hold out for a less expensive single or two-disc edition. Mind you, I like the film; but that is what I like, the film not disc after disc of extras that for the most part are repackagings of earlier editions.OK, that is my beef, and having made it, let me move on.

The Blu-ray is a definite improvement in the overall quality of the film, though not as much as one might have hoped for if you have watched the DVD on a up-conversion DVD player. This is not a problem restricted merely to this. Most of the older classics seem to have reached the point of diminishing returns on DVD. Even epic films like John Ford's THE SEARCHERS shows minimal improvement on Blu-ray. Still, even if the improvement isn't as marked as on more recent films, it is still definite.

But frankly, I think I loved the movie just as much when I was a kid watching it on my parents' old black and white tube TV. We all know the story about the film these days, that it was a critical and box office failure when it first was released. And we know all the stories about it. Buddy Ebsen being forced to drop out of the project when the make up that was sprayed on him caused a serious lung reaction. How Judy Garland took over the role when a deal to trade Jean Harlow and Clark Gable to Warner Brothers for a film so that MGM could get Shirley Temple, a deal that fell through when Shirley Temple died. We know all the songs, all the skits, and a host of the lines. And most importantly we have experienced firsthand how the film became a hit years after its first release because of its annual showings on television, hosted by Olivia DeHavilland (which never made a great deal of sense to me, since he had no connection to the film and had spend her studio career with Warner Brothers rather than MGM). Television was responsible for THE WIZARD OF OZ being the hit it became. But despite its success in the television era, it is almost impossible to understand how it failed to become an instant classic. The songs are irresistible, the performances classic, and the art design unmatched at the time. Scene after scene is filled with one perfect touch after another, like a peacock that strolls around in the background when Dorthy and the Scarecrow meet the Tin Man for the first time. Or the way the Cowardly Lion's tail twitches all the time (it is a subtle effect, but imagine how static he would be if he tail always drooped). It is a beautifully structured film, marvelously photographed, and beautifully scripted. The entire production is magical.

And this is a film that generations share. I remember vividly the terror I felt as a child watching Dorothy's friends come after her in the witch's fortress. Nothing in my childhood scared me more than Later it was the first movie that I watched with my daughter on TV (barely verbal at the time, she for several weeks referred to the film as "Scary Apples," for obvious reasons). My daughter probably watched the movie on VHS a hundred times minimum, largely because Dorothy was at the time one of the few female heroes around (this was before the Era of Buffy), and when she and I were stranded on a ski lift that was stopped during a sudden lightening storm immediately outside Flagstaff, Arizona, I kept her calm by retelling the entire movie, no mean feat given the lightening flashing all around us (though thankfully there was little rain).

This truly is one of those classics that it is impossible to imagine going away. The film is, if anything, as popular today as it has ever been. And conversions of it into new media like this new Blu-ray will guarantee that each generation will continue to rediscover it.』

I had a few film buffs with me when we first viewed the Anniversary Digital Copy [Blue-ray] and what a difference it made. The 2009Wizard of OzUltimate Collector's Edition DVD has all of the material from the 2005 three-disc edition plus more. The first disc has the sharp 2005 restoration using Warner's Ultra Resolution process and an accompanying featurette on how it's done. The technicians also discuss how the sound was remixed, though that would have been more effective had it included surround-sound demonstrations (the featurette is in 2.0). Other features include a commentary track by critic John Fricke supplemented by vintage cast interviews (he offers a lot of trivia, and debunks the myth that Shirley Temple was ever close to getting the Dorothy role); profiles of nine cast members and clips of other movies they appeared in (including Toto); and the original mono track and a music-and-effects track. New for 2009 is a sing-along track that you can turn on as you watch the movie or you can select from 10 numbers to sing along with karaoke-style subtitles. 『This 1946 CLASSIC FILM copy write expired and went to the Public Domain library. For years on VHS a very poor copy was available. But the film was sooooo good we endured the poor quality for the "WONDERFUL LIFE's" message was heard loud and clear.

NOW for the FIRST time it has been brought up to the Blu-ray HD (1080p). With the HD Home Theater (BIG SCREEN) w/Dolby Digital sound I', telling you this movie is NOW THE WAY IT WAS MENT TO BE SEEN IN THE MOVIE THEATER in 1946!!! (Better then the original 35mm prints).

BONUS: This Blu-ray (2 disc set) Edition includes 2 HD versions of this MUST HAVE Movie. Disc 1. - The COLORIZED version (my favorite version, especially in HD. The color adds to the grand detail of the clarity ie. Jimmy Stewarts tweed jacket.
On the big Home Theater screen you won't believe how Wonderful the picture is!!!!
And the sound is awesome!!!!

Disc 2 - Is the Original Black&White version. A very good but much darker version which in my opinion mutes the HD details. Still this HD Classic film delivers. All extra features are also on this disc.

NOTE: This Blu-ray edition includes all the extras of the Standard DVD version.

BOTTOMLINE: THIS MOVIE IS A MUST HAVE. BELIEVE ME, YOU and YOUR FAMILY WILL BE TOTALLY DELIGHTED and Pleased to see and hear for the first time what a "WONDERFUL LIFE" this was and is!!!! ENJOY!!!』

『I've had my red T900 for a few weeks and here's a list of the things I love, in roughly decreasing order of importance:

- GREAT video quality. This camera shoots 720p videos at 30fps, and the quality both indoors and outdoors has far exceeded my expectations. I previously used a T100 but also use cameras from Fuji and Casio for some occasions, and the difference between the T900's 720p high-quality mode and the typical VGA fine mode on other cameras is like day and night. Not only do you get HDTV resolution, the colors are more vibrant and the clarity is just great.

- You can optically zoom the lens during video recording. This is a must-have feature for me as I mostly shoot video clips of my kids.

- Very good still picture quality. This is no digital SLR, for sure, and the image quality is probably not as excellent as Canon's and Panasonic's compact digital cameras, but it's still very good. I read some reviews before deciding on this camera and I had worries about picture quality, but they were dispelled the minute I reviewed the still images on my PC. Very good contrast and clarity, and they make great prints.

- Smile shutter. I never thought I'd buy into this feature, but now I absolutely love it! You can set the sensitivity to three levels, and you can even choose "child priority" or "adult priorit"! And it really works! This is just totally awesome for taking still shots of my kids. (Smile shutter does not work in video mode.)

- Large 3.5" touch-screen LCD. There're no conventional controls, just touch-screen, like most Sony camcorders. The LCD is 1920x480 in resolution, and the menu text looks a little jagged, but you'll love its brightness, fast speed, and clarity for viewing images.

- Fairly easy to use. Sony employs a top-level HOME menu system with sub menus, but it's not too confusing, just a tad harder to figure out the advanced stuff than on an, say, iPod touch.

- Stylish and feature-rich. This is quite thin but still features 4x optical zoom with optical stabilization. The zoom also works in movie-recording mode. It takes Memory Stick PRO Duo cards up to 16GB. Battery lasts about 150 pictures with flash. Not bad. It's light-weight so easy to carry in a pocket, too.

In short, I love this digital camera. It's perfect for all occasions.』

『Get this camara!!!! It is so cool. I purchased this camara after a pool attacked my Nikon Coolpix (Ok, I dropped it in the pool). I had been thinking about getting a new camara anyways because that camara is NOT a point and shoot camara. Plus with a new baby i kept missing memory moments since that camara had a delay when it came to snapping the picture. I am so glad I got this camara. It looks so chic. When I first cut it on I was a little intimidated by all the buttons on the touch screen, but don't worry this camara does all the thinking for you. For the most part the buttons are for viewing because this camara will deciede what setting works best for the picture your taking. This camara is also wonderful for the new parents out there. There is no delay in taking pictures and there is an awesome "smile" feature that detects when a person is smiling and takes the picture for you. You will need to purchase a memory card as when I first opened it and took pictures I was only able to take 2 pictures with the camaras memory. Did I not mention that the camara plays music for you to add to each photo? (I thought this was a fun feature). For the men thinking of buying the bronze color, I bought the bronze because i wanted a classy camara and I felt this was a very classy color. Once I got it I was delightfully surprised that the bronze has a bit of a purple hugh to it. Being female I thought this made the color even better, but I could see a man possibly not liking the color. I've only had the camara for 3 days but at this point I can't think of any bad things to say about it. This is the best camara I've ever had though I do miss the WiFi feature that my Nikon had (you can email picutures directly from the camara from any WiFi area). Get this camara!』

『After reading some bad reviews about this camera i wasn't sure if it's good enough yet... i own Sony T100 that i got couple years ago (8Mpx camera) so i wasn't sure if this camera is improved enough to replace my older Sony. After hesitation for couple of month i got it for my birthday from a friend. IF I KNEW HOW GREAT THIS CAMERA IS I WOULD BOUGHT IT LONG TIME AGO! this camera is unbelievable! My biggest issue with my older camera is that i never really used those special presets like beach/landscape/portrait/twilight/etc because it was sort of painful to go through menu and change it each time lighting conditions change, to say true for me those features in my old camera were totally useless. This camera - you just put it in auto (iSCN) mode (i put it in iSCN+ mode) and camera always takes dual shots when needed - example, i am shooting a person with a lot of back light, for example against a bright window - this camera will take two shots automatically, first shot is optimal settings as most cameras would set, then second shot with different settings - this is totally awesome because you can later pick what picture to keep and what picture looks good, most of the time i like them both!
Another great picture is smile shutter. i used to use timer on my older T100 to take pictures of me with my partner but then we had only 10 seconds to do that and after each shot i had to run back and put timer again and so on - quite annoying sometimes so i was researching cameras with remotes and found none. Guess what, you don't need one with this camera - your smile is your remote! You can just put this camera on tripod or whatever surface and just smile... this camera will take picture each time you smile, doesn't matter how many times you smile, once you select smile shutter it will keep taking all smiley pictures until you stop!!! this is absolutely fantastic feature!!! very very useful!
Another feature is that this camera automatically detects if you blinked in the camera (only works when face detected) so if you blinked it will take another shot right away automatically!

for me that was enough already, i was like a kid in a candy store but then i took it with me to a beach to test it more...
Picture quality - outstanding, brilliant colors, crisp and simply beautiful.

Video - i read a lot good reviews about the video quality but i didn't expect it to be so crispy, smooth, vibrant and image stabilization quite surprised me - really really nice job Sony! WOW. i Own Sony's new high-end HD camcorder so i like to film with perfect quality but this camera definitely can substitute my camcorder in some situations for sure.

Another fun feature - if you shot someone who doesn't like to smile this camera can make them smile, seriously once you take a picture go to edit and add a smile! crazy! ;)

anyway, if you are looking for a camera that would take really good shots and you like to press only one button (like me) then you may like this camera. I do like my pictures perfect but really cannot see myself changing settings every time i need to take a shot, i'd go crazy if i'd have to do that. I wanted a camera that will self adjust each time i take a shot, example - you are on a tour bus around paris and taking all kinds of shots, then going into cathedral and taking shots in much darker conditions without changing settings - i got all of this with this camera and then some!

Bad things about this camera -
1. battery life sucks so get more, i got 3 generic ones for less than $10 each on amazon and they will be well used on my longer trips... I think this big LCD screen sucks all power from the batteries quickly.
2. In auto mode you cannot switch flash to Fill-In mode, the only two modes available are Auto and Off. I use flash/fill flash pretty much all the time, even on the sunny beach to make pictures look perfect without any hard shadows but now...

『I purchased superman and supergirl matching costumes. I thought my twins (boy/girl) would like them. Since they enjoy dressing up. They let me put it on so I could take pictures and then they took them off. They haven't touch them since. Not sure why. I like them they are so cute. They wear all of their other costumes batman, princess etc. Just not these.』

It is made like a typical cheap store made costume. Large opening in the back so need to wear a shirt under it. The elastic snapped in the left foot on the first day. Strings hanging all over. Pretty much what I expected. Only thing that I did not expect was the back of the belt to be all sticky. I understand that it helps hold it in place. I did not expect the sticky substance to transfer all over the place.』

『The child I gave the toy to was having a lot of fun and was happy to see it was exactly like the one on TV. As for me I did not see what all the fuss was about. I think the best person to review this toy would be the users themselves - the children. I think it was too expensive for what it does.』

『My 6 year old just got this for his birthday, and he's absolutley thrilled. However, for a toy in the $70 range it really doesn't do much. You can spin the dial to choose an alien (very tiny backlit pics of the 10 aliens are on the dial), press the watch face down and it makes some sound effects. It will then "time out" just like in the show.

My son so far is having a great time with it, and in a way it's probably good that it encourages imagination, but seriously, this thing should cost $20-30, tops. Seems fairly durable, bit it is plastic, so who knows. We only bought it for him because it's all he wanted for his b-day. So, to summarize, I'm very happy that my son is happy, but it's also a shame that Bandai feels the need to overcharge so severely for this toy.』

『The whole purpose of this toy is to wear it on the wrist and act like Ben 10. My son loves this toy but got very frustrated because it wouldn't stay on his wrist. The hard plastic part is too thick and we cannot get it tight enough to stay on without rotating around.

Eventually I ended up duct taping the straps together to make it fit tighter. Still not perfect but at least he doesn't whine every time he puts it on to "make it tighter mommy!"

『My friend has this toy and we tried to transform it. We asked an adult to help us and he couldn't figure it out either. In the end, I ended up wasting about 45 minutes trying to transform it w/t the instructions. Also, in the movie, Bumblebee's "wings" aka doors never flipping around or wobbling. In this toy, I can't even find the sockets for the circle things that is supposed to hold the doors in place. I also found the firing missile controller thing but it didn't work. The thing to make Bumblebee speak is lame too. The hood is super-bad too. Every time I try to pose it, in the process, the hood keeps falling apart. This gets me REALLY, REALLY FRUSTRATED, ANNOYED AND ANGRY!!! IN CONCLUSION, DO NOT BUY IT!!! As all of my friends would say, it's a ripoff!!!!!』

『I just got my Ultimate Bumblebee today....and the instructions aren't worth a flip. So, having to struggle with it, decided to keep this 'Bee in Robot Mode. The Battle Mask does stay on, it has a clip you use in the front part that you snap in to keep it on. As far as the cannon however, mine hasn't fired yet. Have pushed the button several times. He says 3 phrases, haven't heard one song, and I'm wondering if my poor 'Bee has a short in him. I am considering returning him for such a price.

As a result, if you like the 'Bee, and are willing to risk it, try it. If not, stick with the Leader Optimus Prime. It's Impressive, Realistic, and is much Cheaper.』

(Next-Generation Transformer?)
『Regrettably perhaps, I have both versions of this toy. I would like to see different Ultimate toys (most notably Optimus Prime) in the future. This seems like the next-generation of transformers in many ways, with the animatronics and the audio content. But aside from that, purely as a transformer, it's still quite worthy to own. Large, very realistic, good detail. Not so easy to transform, especially as some of the connections need some carefully-applied force to engage/disengage (a knife can be useful). But not bad once you do it a couple times. The instructions are much better than nothing, and half the satisfaction is figuring out for yourself how to get from one step to the next.

The car mode is fun, and of course you can spin the one wheel to keep the audio going if you want to pass on rolling it around, but the skids are easier with the latter approach. Robot mode, as noted in another review, seems to fail full expectations. Yes, I have the same problem with mine as mentioned - it seems unresponsive to sound or motion, and shuts down after 30 seconds or so if no button is pressed. Interestingly, I don't have the same issue with the first model. If I stand them facing each other and set them off, the earlier model will respond and continue interaction while the newer one obliviously quits unless prodded. Did they leave this feature out on the newer one?

As for the content, both models reflect their respective movie roles. I happen to like the earlier one better, but it's a matter of taste. The doors fit better on the newer one, and the mask is cool but a hassle to get on. The Ultimate Bumblebee is a worthy addition to a collection, and many won't care if the thing won't respond unless you push a button. The new technology takes the transformer into a more pure "toy" mode, where it doesn't perhaps stand out from the non-transforming competition. But it certainly opens a new dimension for the many-faceted transformers.

If you care about the responsiveness issue, might prefer a more musical, less serious audio content, and can tolerate some possible door issues, you might consider spending a few extra bucks and get the earlier model.

(Difficult to Transform)
『If my son did not like this so much, I would have gladly returned it. As one reviewer noted, the instructions are sooo difficult to understand you're much better off using common sense. We just got it today and we spent more time trying to make the parts fit whenever we try to transform it from a car to a robot to car again, than my son actually playing with it. We tried it twice today and both times were frustrating. As a mom, I think this is an expensive headache. Although I must admit, my 8-year old enjoys playing with it. The headache is for the adult who tries to transform it. As I told my son, transforming it should be part of the fun that comes with a toy like this... but with not this one.』

(Great figure with some minor flaws)
『I'd been wanting to purchase Ultimate Bumblebee since the first version was released with the first Transformers movie, but I never bought one. After seeing that a second version was being released, I decided to go ahead and pick one up, and I'm glad I did.

This is a very large Transformer with a good bit of weight. There are some pieces that feel fragile, but it is a sturdy figure overall. Its true that the transformation on this figure is somewhat complex, but once you transform it a time or two, its really not that difficult. The instructions are a little hard to follow, but using common sense goes a long way as there are a good number of holes and pegs that fit together during the transformation to vehicle mode that make it pretty obvious what to do once you've seen where the pegs line up with the holes (ie. as when putting the arms into the body).

There are a couple of reasons that I like this ROTF version better than the original. One reason is because of the updated sounds. I was never impressed with lines such as "You're my first human friend" or the repeated playing of Whip-it (not a bad song, I just didn't like it with the Bumblebee figure for some reason). The sound clips and phrases are much better in this new version in my opinion, and the inclusion of "You've got the touch" seems much more appropriate to me.

Of course there are a few things that keep this figure from being perfect. For one thing, the box clearly states that the figure responds to motion, and the instructions say that the figure responds to both voice and motion. I've had two of these figures (had to take the first one back due to a defect) and neither of them respond to voice or motion as stated. After initially pressing a button and then waiting, the figure will perform another "action" every 5 to 10 seconds of being idle up to about 30 second before going to sleep, which at first made me think it was responding to me, but then I realized that if I pressed the button once and then made no sounds or movements, it followed the exact same pattern with no movement or sound input. After having two figures with exactly the same issue, I wonder if this was a planned feature that made it to the box art, but never made it to production (as far as it being in the instruction sheet, its clear that the instructions are from the first version with a new header at the top of the page, as the figure shown in the instructions has the old style headlights on the front of the car). Please let me know in the comments if I've somehow missed the correct way to get the sound and motion sensor to work as I've even emailed Hasbro about it and their answer so far has been "we don't know."

There is also an issue where in robot mode the wings can make a loud clicking sound, almost like something is popping inside or is going to break (although I don't think it would actually break anything from this). After watching closely I've found that there are two things that can cause this. One, if the figure is posed in such a way that it's leaning slightly forward, the wings can get caught up on the tires. Making the figure stand up straight, or even with a very slight lean backwards can alleviate this issue if this is the cause. The second cause appears to be related to the rubber pieces that connect the wings to the body. Since these are kind of long and tube shaped, if they are "twisted" the wrong way when the doors are attached to the figure's back as wings, the added tension, although slight, seems to be enough to cause the clicking noise. Disconnecting the offending door(s) and rolling it 360 degrees forward or backward (depending on which way it was twisted) seems to help. Because the rubber connector is a solidly colored tube shape, its really hard to tell if it's twisted the wrong way, so some experimentation may be needed if the clicking sound is happening.

OVERALL: A very good figure that I'd recommend picking up if you're considering it. It's a great deal of fun, and the animatronics do make him seem a little more real than a normal figure. My kids love when I get Ultimate Bumblebee out, and even my wife has been telling me how cool she thinks it is, which is a first for her with any Transformer figure.』

Convert From Car to Robot
Recommended for ages five and up, Ultimate Bumblebee is one of the most fully featured action figures you'll find. Initially, Ultimate Bumblebee appears as a sleek 2010 Camaro. With its vivid yellow finish and racing stripes, Ultimate Bumblebee's car form is as detailed and well built as any model car and would be a perfect addition to a cabinet or dresser top. The car is able to roll freely on carpet and hard surfaces alike.

Like all Transformers, there is more to Ultimate Bumblebee's Camaro form than meets the eye. Advanced Animatronics and Sounds

About Transformers

『It was well written and believable as far as being the voice of John Winchester, but it could have been a lot better. When this book came out I was excited to read it as I am a huge fan of the show. It started off good enough, but the farther into it that you read it becomes less like a journal about the trials of surviving in a life submerged in a supernatural world and more like a course book on mythology. As you read the anecdotes about the three Winchester men begins to diminish and it's just his difficult to follow notes on different beings and the folklore behind the stories. I can assure you it is not any where as interesting as the show. I was pretty disappointed.』

Unfortunately, it seems that the author got a bit ahead of himself when plotting out that backstory and ignored some crucial bits of characterization as a result. There are several bits of canon that are left out (part of this I can't blame him for; there are things he might not have known about because they hadn't been released yet) but more than once what he writes directly contradicts what's displayed in the show. This is displayed right from the very first paragraph: "I went to Missouri and learned the truth. And from her..." Points to Irvine for remembering the line from Home; unfortunately, he should have remembered that there was NO description of Missouri as a person, hence the surprise on Dean's part when it came to actually meeting her.

Another thing that got me was just how clearly John's affection, love and worry for his boys came out. As someone who likes a bit of fluff, that's always a pleasure to read but as a canon fan, I've got to raise the unfortunate issue that neither Sam nor Dean were EVER certain of John's feelings towards them and had they written proof of the truth, neither would have displayed the level of filial angst we see in the show itself. In a story written from John's perspective, the proof of his emotions towards his sons would have been fantastic but it just doesn't work in a book purporting to be the same journal that Sam and Dean take with them on their own journey.

There are several other details that don't make too much sense to me, but I'll let readers discover those on their own, rather than pointing them all out. Also, the book has some interesting factoids on the cases that John worked on and I did enjoy the gradual demonstration of his increasing skills (and general coldness, even the slight distraction from his focus on getting vengeance for Mary's murder as he got more caught up in the hunt itself) as time progressed. If the book had focused more on that instead of on the emotional vulnerabilities, I'd have very easily seen it as John's journal. As it was, those tidbits were definitely a distraction, especially as we see in canon that John's journal was extremely succinct and often entries were drilled down to one or two sentences and ALWAYS were focused on the case, not on his own emotional state or those of his sons.

I'd love to see the author actually write a book from John's perspective, especially if he got someone to work with him on some of the canon details. I think at some point he mentions buying a Mac for Sam, for instance; canon!John would have had NO desire to do this. Apples are expensive and unnecessary for the sort of work they were doing, given that it was in the 96-97 timeframe. A laptop at the time would have been an extreme luxury; paying for a Mac unnecessarily is just too much for me to believe, even on false credit cards, when we have canon proof that money was an issue.

All in all, it's a decent read. It's well written, occasionally intriguing, but it does not fit the basic requirements necessary to actually be John Winchester's Journal.』

(Good for Casual Fans)
『If you're a casual fan of Supernatural, if you, say, watch it when it airs once a week and maybe have the DVDs, but have only watched them once or twice - this is a good book for you. It's entertaining, it has some good back-story moments, and it's well written.

If, however, you're a Supernatural-fanatic and have watched the DVDs more times then you can count, read fanfic and the tie-in novels, and were uber-excited to hear about this release because you'd get to read what Dean and Sam have read on the show? You're not going to like it. I knew that within the first two pages - there's just too many inconsistencies. Others have listed them in detail, so I'll just name the first one: Missouri.

It starts off exactly like Dean said it did in "Home": "I went to Missouri and I learned the truth." However, if the author had continued *watching* "Home" he'd know that Dean's next statement was, "I always thought he meant the state." He never knew Missouri was a person. John, however, goes into detail in his journal about their conversation, making it very clear that Missouri's a psychic.

Like I said, though, if you're a casual viewer and don't mind some inconsistencies, you'll probably enjoy this. But don't think you're going to be reading something you can imagine as the *actual* journal of John Winchester - it's not even close.』

(The stories are syrupy and annoying but my daughter loves it!)
『This book is great for a princess fan. Six princesses are featured - Cinderella, Snow White, Aurora, Jasmine, Ariel, and Belle. Some stories are based on sequels to Disney movies (e.g. Cinderella II) while others are "original." The book itself is well-made and includes cute stickers. The pages are thick, the table of contents is illustrated so it is easy for pre-readers to select a story to read. That said, I really don't like these stories. They are sugar sweet, happily ever after stories with mediocre writing, dull plots and little imagination (they seem similar to each other). However, as much as I dislike the stories, my daughter enjoys them. On balance, this is a 3 star book - not great, but with sufficient redeeming qualities to make it a worth-while purchase.』

『I purchased this book for my daughter several months but she wasn't overly interested. She just turned three and has recently developed an interest in books with stories (vs. picture books). 『I purchased this game for my 6 yr old, she loves the Bratz. This game requires alot of patience moving around the Bratz girls. You have to use your Wii remote as a pointer to move the Bratz girl around and if you dont move the remote just right you will get stuck in corners or the Bratz girl runs into things. I feel they makers of the game should have allowed you to control the Bratz girl with the arrows on the Wii remote instead of pointing it to the tv screen. My daughter got frustrated with it first, but she kept trying and she is doing a little better. Overall the concept of the game is neat and the music the plays along with the game is good as well.』
