(A lovely explaination of Hannukah)
『I'm not a big Rugrats fan but I struggled to find a video that would explain Hannukah AND captivate my 3 year old. This video does both. I love the Yiddish phrases sprinkled throughout, they remind me of my culture. I also love that they incorporate the Hebrew blessing.』

(A Rugrats Chanukah)
『Not only was this another endearing Rugrats episode, this video also had some very informative historical data. When my fellow teachers and I decided to expand our Christmas Around the World unit, we combed your website looking for innovative ideas.Unfortunately many teachers almost have to run a "dog and pony" show to compete with the visual stimuli of today's world. That's why we we so excited to find a copy of this great video that provides accurate historical and cultural information on a child's level with characters he/she recognizes and loves. Our second grade auditory learners were delighted with the video as were the visual learners with the paperback book of the same story. This video showed The Babies playing games and eating Chanakah snacks which we provided for our kinestic learners. This video held seven year olds' attentions while instilling information about the history and culture of the Jewish faith.』

『This is an excellent video that introduces young ones to the basic meaning of Chanukah, and I would recomend it to anyone who's interested. It combines the basic story of Chanukah, with the humor that the Rugrats provide.

The video does have some flaws. It's recorded in the fastest mode (apparently to save cost, but to be honest, I would have paid a few bucks more for a better quality recording) so the quality is not the greatest. Also, the closed captioning for the hearing impaired has lots of errors, such as some Yiddish expressions, and at the end when the blessing is given, it just says"(speaking Hebrew)"where the TV version spells it out and suffers from none of the above-mentioned flaws.)

Still, it is not enough to change my rating of 5 stars, or my recommendation of this video, as the content of the video is, of course, the most important part.』

It explains Chanukah to children in a way they can understand when they are coming from another cultural background. The story is clear, easy to understand and follow, and entertains at the same time. (Nostalgic Entertainment)
『I video taped this off of television for my children when they were all little. I taped it because I thought there might come a day when they would not be playing it on TV anymore, turns out I was right about that, however I never saw this on VHS for sale in any store or I would probably have a better quality tape, my video taping skills leave something to be desired. Now I see the used VHS tapes are quite expensive, perhaps even rare. Which is why this show needs to be restored and sold on DVD so that families can watch this again. Besides, my poor tape is old and will not last forever so I'd like to see this one up for sale, soon. Returning it to television would be nice too. My children are all grown now and every year I play this during the Holiday season, often more than once. I just watched it today with my grandson who is 6 months old, granted he was not as interested as I for obvious reasons. The movie is an animated children's historical view of The Mayflower Story. It addresses all things important pertaining to that story, including religious freedom, the hardships the pilgrims suffered, meeting and learning new things from the Indians. I think this story shows children brotherly love, the importance of prayer and people communicating and working together. Most of all it shows "thankfulness" which is what this holiday represents in the first place. This is a great family holiday film and there are very few films about Thanksgiving available today anyway.』

(A THANKSGIVING TRADITION)
『It's been a number of years since I've seen Mouse on the Mayflower but it was always a favorite when I was a kid. This was made by Rankin&Bass in 1968,who were at the height of their creative genius in the 60's, most known for Classic Christmas tales like Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph, and Santa Claus is Coming to Town. This story tells the story of the voyage of the Pilgrims to America, but told from the perspective of mice who also make the perilous journey. It's narrated by Tennessee Ernie Ford as we learn of the harsh journey over the Atlantic before the Pilgrims make it safely to the new world and are greeted by Indians and start their new lives. Besides Ford the voice cast also includes Eddie Albert of Green Acres fame as Captain Standish.

Like Frosty, this is done in regular animation and in that regard it has a look very similar to other Rankin&Bass specials like `Twas the Night before Christmas and others of the same period. I always thought Rankin&Bass were vastly underrated as an animation studio. This was a Thanksgiving tradition for a number of years but I have not seen it pop up on TV for quite a long time. Unfortunately it's not on DVD yet so tracking a copy down may be hard. Hopefully this will arrive on DVD soon.

(A must see for all ages)
『The Mouse on the Mayflower is a must see for all ages in my opinion. While I don't remember ever seeing this wonderful movie on TV when I was a child, I learned of it as an adult when my children were small. Since there are so few movies about Thanksgiving I purchased this on VHS and my children loved it. Since then I have worn out two tapes and my third is getting "grainy". I teach second grade and every year recommend to parents that they rent this from one of our local Video Rental stores. The content tells a fairly accurate story of the pilgrims in a way children will enjoy and remember. Having talking mice tell a story of historic value is just one way to teach children of their nation's heritage.』

『This is a follow up to his first video(secrets of no limit holdem). Everyone knows how to play good cards, which is what the first video was about, so it was nice to see some info on how to expand the range of cards he reccomends to play, and also shows examples of cards you could expect to be up against in a couple different board textures.

I am still looking for more info on playing outside the top hands, but this was a good place to start.

『I definately enjoyed this DVD. I felt it added to my game as an advanced player. Howard Lederer as the speaker was very good and did not bore the heck out of me. I would like to see a new DVD by him come out with even more advanced plays.』

『Much better than the first one probably because the first one was too basic for me. I liked this one where I didn't care much for the first one. I realize he was trying to build a foundation in the first one but it did say it was "The Ultimate Guide to No-Limit Holdem" which it was not. Just tell it like it is and don't oversell and I won't be disappointed and give poor reviews. Back to the point- there is some useful information and some valuable tips and tells here so if you don't yet have this one it is worth getting.

He does a nice job of telling you how much to bet pre flop to get certain results ( three times the blind as average, more to shut opponents out, a little less as you gain more experience and can extract extra profit by outplaying your opponents after the flop). It provides a good baseline to build a winning no limit game and worth repeated viewing to strengthen your game. He has an appealing teaching style and seems sincere in talking about poker. Recommended.』

(Finally, I'm starting to win)
『This DVD is terrific. Rather than describe the content, as most have, I'll discuss the results.

I'm a rookie that plays with friends every couple of weeks. I've been playing for less than a year. I hadn't been a very winning player for a while, but went to Vegas recently. I watched this DVD and studied the Pre-Flop Strategy, Odds Chart and Hold'em Race Odds charts, and decided to take a chance and enter a low-dollar tournament. What a blast- I finished 11th out of 51 players. The next night, I entered another tournament. I made it to the final table and placed in the money- 7th. Wow, I thought I was going to be taken to the cleaners, but did pretty well against some clearly more experienced veterans. After returning from the trip, I immediately beat my friends, two games in a row. I had been getting my butt kicked by them for a couple of months now, so needless to say, this video has really turned my game around.

I didn't realize how much I misunderstood about the game until I watched this video. I'm doing things in reverse order- now I'm going to purchase the first DVD to make sure I get the basics down, to add to these advanced techniques.』

(Good for new tournament players)
『Lederer's DVD and starting hand guide are excellent resources for new NLHE tourney players. "More Secrets" is much better than "Secrets". The reason the DVD is 4* and not 5* is that late stage tournament strategy is not adequately discussed.』

『I love this movie. Very Funny!! Who does not like Gerald Butler anyway, I mean... come on!』

(It's okay, not great.)
『This is a typical battle of the sexes and you can pretty much anticipate the flow of the movie.
That being said: It's a chick flick and we like them and watch them anyway.
We like happy endings.
Well in this regard, this movie does not disappoint.

Gerard Butler is cute as usual in his burly masculine way, but sans his sexy accent. I really miss that.
Katherine Heigl is an ice princess with only a goofy victory dance to endear you to her character. I'm sure she is attractive enough for the men in the audience (I suspect very few men are in the audience), but she does not come across as being similar to the rest of us. I think for a chick flick to work, we have to identify with the character. Think Julia Roberts, Meg Ryan,...you get the picture.

The movie has some funny moments, but what really struck me was some of the more crass dialog and swearing.
Hey, I've been around and work in an office, but it sometimes seemed out of character and out of place.
Gratuitous comes to mind here. Maybe there's a quota they have to make??
Anyway, it was okay. Not great.
This is no When Harry met Sally or for that matter Sleepless in Seattle, but a relatively comical evening's movie to watch.
Without Gerard Butler involved though, I think this movie would have crashed and burned.』

My saintly grey-haired grandmotherly mom LOVES Gerard Butler, but she'll never see this movie if I have anything to say about it! It's just too crude--needlessly crude. Sure, I giggled (sometimes because I was embarrassed) but it is undoubtedly crude. I am a bit of a fussy prude, but not *that* much that I can't enjoy a bit of off-color humor, but I have to say that a lot of this felt needless and gratuitous.

Still, I laughed. And cringed and laughed.

The story is as old as the hills, but that's okay. I sort of expected that going in. Predictable--that's okay too. Butler is funny and amusing and I like Heigel as well.

I thought the ending (declarations of love in a hot air balloon) was weak and not fitting with the rest of the movie. It all of a sudden became corny and sappy. I am okay with corny and sappy if the whole movie is like that, but this was not. The ending didn't "sell" itself to me.

However, I still enjoyed it and if you're a Gerard Butler fan and can take some crude content and language, then go ahead and buy the DVD.』

『Love the show hands down! But the packaging was a disappointment. I have the first three seasons and have waited a long time for the final season to be released. I was hoping that the packaging would be the same as the previous 3 but it was not. To be honest I would have paid extra money to have the "extras" that were included in the other seasons. Such as the booklet and the unique way that the others were put together not some plastic case like this one. But all in all the show is what really matters and I am pleased with that.』

This long-awaited collection finally arrives on DVD November 3, 2009! All 24 episodes of the fourth and final season are included in this set, along with nearly two hours of bonus features (the same ones included in last year's Complete Series set released by the Jim Henson Company, HIT Entertainment and Lionsgate).

Some of the most touching, sincere and sentimental episodes are found within the final season of this legendary television experience, including a giant wrap-up taking place over the last three. Perfection is the only suitable word. Everything that IS Fraggle Rock is on prominent display over these ninety minutes, forming one of the most beautiful conclusions to any show in the history of the medium.

Many other episodes demonstrate the Henson team at what is probably the highest point of artistic expression the company has ever known, delivering heartfelt storytelling magic in shows including "Uncle Matt's Discovery," "The Perfect Blue Rollie," "Wembley's Flight," "The Voice Inside," "A Tune for Two," "The River of Life" and "Gone But Not Forgotten." Those last three deal with racism, pollution/environmental awareness and death, respectively, in charming fashion unique to the series; however they, in particular, must be seen to be truly believed.

*Like the previous three season sets, Season 4's bonus material is simply outstanding. Everything you would hope to see and hear about the final season is delivered by familiar faces in a typically wonderful and extensive manner. Close to thirty minutes is spent covering the episodes themselves, with the best of the season (listed above) nearly all discussed by each corresponding writer. Featured are staples Jocelyn Stevenson, Lawrence Mirkin and Jerry Juhl (archival footage), as well as the returning David Young ("The Perfect Blue Rollie," "The River of Life") and newcomer Laura Phillips ("A Tune for Two," "Gone But Not Forgotten").

The list of remaining bonus features are as follows, with the last four alone worth the price of admission:

- The Inner Gorg: interviews body performers Trish Leeper (Ma Gorg), Gord Robertson (Pa Gorg) and Rob Mills (Junior Gorg).

- Designing the Puppets: interviews builders Rollie Krewson and Tim Miller.

- Directing the Fraggles: interviews directors Eric Till and George Bloomfield.

- Let the Music Play: Philip Balsam and Dennis Lee, interviewed together for the first time on DVD, give a first-hand recollection of what it was like to produce two or three unforgettable songs each week.

- Dance Your Cares Away: Philip Balsam discusses the evolution of the theme song. Nearly ten minutes of unused themes are seen and heard here.

- You Cannot Leave the Magic: rare, incredible footage from the last day of shooting.

- Celebrating Fraggle Rock: rare, incredible footage from the show's wrap party.

Simply put, the show speaks for itself. Now that the Henson Company has unloaded HIT, who blatantly failed to release this remaining installment last year, they are finally able to give their top property the home video sendoff it rightly deserves. As most people buying this set already know, there is nothing like Fraggle Rock. For those revisiting these last episodes: it's as good as you dare remember. For those who know the show but haven't seen this season: the best is yet to come.

『are they serious?!they put 60 minutes of material on 3 discs?!i suppose they're hoping it will up the re-buy value for themselves seeing as each sdisc must only have some 20 minutes of stuff.what a rip.the first edition says it has 400 minutes or something,but that must be a typo because there are complaints about it being too short as well.why can't they simply put out quality products that will make people rush to get it,instead of frustrating people so that they leave bad reviews and deter people from buying these sets?!』

『I really enjoyed the episodes that were included in the set, but wanted so much more. There were a ton of nostalgia clips- I completely remember the "Jacks" clip. However, there's only the first episode of each season and a few other stuff. Hope they release a Vol. 3 with more stuff from the 80's.』

『I have 2 VERY busy 2 year olds, and this video stops them in their tracks. I get an hour or so of quiet time every time they watch it. The best part is, I find myself singing along most of the time. It really takes me back. Not nearly as annoying as so many cartoons are now, and seems more focused on education than current episodes. Recommended!』

Voice talent includes Jason Earles as Spudnick, a Russian bull terrier with a decidedly strange accent, and Josh Flitter, Liliana Mummy, Nico Ghisi, Skyler Gisondo, and Henry Hodges as the Buddies. Bonus features include a 13-minute making of featurette that includes some history about space travel and is narrated by the Buddies, bloopers, and Alyson Stoner's "Dancing in the Moonlight" music video. An adventure story with a nice message about family and teamwork, children ages 3 to 10 will enjoySpace Buddieswith its cute talking puppies and not-too-scary space travel, but those seeking believability will not be impressed.--Tami Horiuchi

『1st...to truly appreciate the movie you have to read the books. I made the mistake of watching the movie 1st and I thought it was terrible. I didn't catch any of the hidden meanings and things left unsaid, But I kept hearing how great the stories were. Anyways, I'm so glad I gave this series a 2nd chance. The movie was much better after I understood what was really going on. I bought all 4 books and the movie and I just watched New Moon. I loved it, I will definitely buy that as well. Stephenie Meyer is a rare gem. We would only be so lucky if she wrote more supernatural thrillers.』

『I watched this with my tween sister who thinks Edward is so fantastic...and since I'd read all the books, I also wanted to check out the movie.

I was sadly disappointed.

The Harry Potter movies are obviously not made for any academic audience, but the world is believable. I feel like the movies have made a real world for the characters for me to watch, a word that meets my expectations (almost to the T) that the books gave me. I'm not exactly sure what to make of the Twilight movie. I'm pretty sure a group of high school kids got together and made this as a final project...

I understand that this movie had a very small budget, and I'm able to cut the special effects some slack (but sparkly...seriously? I'm sure there was a less gay way to do that...I mean, if I were Pattinson, and I'm a girl by the way, I would have been pretty pissed at how sparkly I was. DIAMONDS, NOT GLITTER!)

The acting was...atrocious. I've never heard of Kristen Stewart before, to be totally honest, so I have nothing else to compare her to. I've seen Pattinson in Goblet of Fire, obviously, and I thought he did pretty well in that, granted his on screen time with lines was next to nothing. I don't know if it was the low budget-ness or a bad acting coach, bad director or what happened here...but it definitely belonged in an independent film festival and not on the big screen (sorry to offend any independent film makers, because I've seen quite a few amazing independent films).

The dialogue felt forced most of the time...like the screen writer wrote part of it and didn't know how to fill in space so it was up to the actors to improv...about all the time.

And the make up? What did they do to Pattinson? I saw him in Goblet of Fire, and I about drooled all over myself. What the heck happened in this movie?! Was there too much make up? Was it cheap? Or is he just not right for this part? I saw him in a preview for another movie he's got coming out and he seemed like a good enough actor, and looked normal...so I must blame this movie for his performance in this. And no, I'm not saying Pattinson is the greatest thing since sliced bread, I'm not a 15 year old girl who nourishes a dream that I'll meet him some day.

I knew most of this going into the movie, though, so I can't say I was too upset by it. I don't see how it could have made new fans by it, I was certain it would be "Twi-hards" only that would fall for this movie, but I am wrong again. Oh, and New Moon broke records this week and is now the 3rd highest grossing film! Admittedly, it was better than Twilight, but they did not fix the sparkly vampire and the only thing that made me enjoy it was watching Taylor Lautner without a shirt for about 3/4 of it. Oh, and yes, I do secretly dream that he's about three years older and falls madly inlove with me someday ;)』

(An Honest, Neutral Review of Why "Twilight" is NOT a Good Film)
『The Twilight Saga is unavoidable in both film and book form. The books, which I've never read, were bestsellers and the recent release of "New Moon," the film is breaking records. Teenage girls are absolutely gaga for the star Robert Pattinson and it finally intrigued me enough to watch this film. I do have a slightly biased opinion as the entire premise of the film seemed ludicrous to me, but I found a glimmer of hope in the film's director Catherine Hardwicke, who was responsible for the very honest look at teenagers with the film "Thirteen."

What really surprised me about this film is that it doesn't have much of a plot. Kristen Stewart plays Isabella "Bella" Swan, who moves from Arizona to Forks, Washington to stay with her father (Billy Burke). Bella inexplicably begins school moments after arriving in Forks and discovers The Cullen's, a group of mysterious foster kids from Alaska. Even more mysterious and intriguing, to her and the rest of the student body, is Edward Cullen (Pattinson), a quiet, pale, reserved 17-year-old. Bella starts to notice the Cullen's are more than just a little different and when Edward stops a van from running her over, she realizes that he may not even be human...99% of the world knows that he's a vampire, but not a vampire of the typical, blood-sucking variety. The Cullen's are "vegetarian" vampires who only snack on the blood of animals. There's a story here, obviously but nothing really happens in it.

Almost everything here is underwritten, characters and plot included. The characterization is particularly hollow and calling the characters "characters," is inaccurate; these are names with pretty faces attached to them. We're talking about a film here with an uneventful plot and characters completely void of depth. Twilight is supposed to be a supernatural love story geared towards a teenage demographic, but where's the emotion or poignancy that a love story needs in order to work as one? It's certainly not here. The dialogue in this movie is so melodramatic, I almost felt nauseous. The conversations between Bella and Edward are particularly embarrassing to watch. This does not sound like the "Romeo&Juliet" of the 21st Century, but the banter of two prepubescent children. A quick example; "Beautiful? This is the skin of a killer, Bella."

As for the performances, no one seems to be putting any effort into them. Pattinson looks uncomfortable and his facial expressions, as well as his delivery of the film's dialogue sound pain fully forced. I do believe Hardwicke is a talented director, but she made a lot of poor creative choices here starting with her decision to direct such a poorly written script in the first place. One of her most annoying directorial decisions was her overuse of the slow-motion to illustrate the anxiety of a character. I can say only one positive thing about the film's production value and that is the somber, gray color palette utilized by the film's cinematographer...It could've been really effective if the tone of the overall film had been altered. Anyone who doesn't agree with what I'm saying about the film's poor quality need look no further than the baseball scene. How horribly executed can a scene be? The acting, the dialogue, the choice of music, Pattinson's snarl, and the cinematography are so bad it's embarrassing. Finally, this scene has no relevance to the plot of the film. It's muddled, meandering filler slipped into the film as an excuse to bring the character's to a different conflict in the story. If I was not aware of the inescapable Twilight frenzy, I would swear this film was a direct-to-DVD release; no one with a knowledge or appreciation of American cinema would call Twilight a good movie.

Quite frankly, watching Twilight was like watching a high-school play written by a socially inept teenager. Obviously, my opinion isn't going to affect the success of the series. Twilight is one of those things that strikes some chord with young American audiences and has become a record-breaking smash success. I guarantee that Twilight will not remain a part of the American moviegoer's consciousness for any prolonged amount of time and just like hugely successful boy bands, this is a phase that will fade away in time.

Twilight left me shaking my head so many times in the two hours I was watching it. I was not fascinated, intrigued, or stimulated about anything going on in the film and the only way I can imagine someone being those things is if they were not educated. That last part is sarcasm, but quite honestly this is a film that people will look back on ten years from now and think "how did I possibly think that was any good."

Directed by Catherine Hardwicke (Thirteen),Twilightis full of funny moments--not all of which are intentional--and the casting, from Stewart to Bella's self-absorbed friend Jessica (Anna Kendrick) is spot-on. The weakest link, unfortunately, is Pattinson. While he certainly looks the part, his Edward could have used an extra injection of testosterone (Pattinson, who is British, used James Dean as a model for his American accent). In scenes where he growls about the temptation to kill those who would harm Bella, or flitting around a forest warning her how dangerous he is, he comes off more like a whimpering puppy than a debonair monster. The good news is, his chemistry with Stewart (particularly in their big kissing scene) is palpable, which, let's face it, is really what matters toTwilightfans most. --Ellen A. Kim

On the DVD
The special features forTwilightkick off with an audio commentary with director Catherine Hardwicke and stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. There's some mumbling and groaning from Stewart (one gets the impression that Stewart is quite similar to her reserved character in the film), some standard behind-the-scenes observations from Hardwicke, and a lot of awkward self-deprecating remarks from Pattinson (of their big kiss, he opines: "This is quite difficult 'cause I have a really flat head, and so it's quite difficult to get a correct angle."). What's funny is Pattinson stumping Hardwicke with some basic plot questions, like "Why doesn't James just kill [Bella when she's packing at her house]?" While Hardwicke and Stewart attempt to answer, Pattinson doesn't appear satisfied. The deleted and extended scenes include an additional dream-sequence kiss (rightly cut because it took away from the buildup to their first kiss) and more footage of Victoria (Rachelle Lefevre). The seven-part documentary is a pretty thorough look at the development of the film, including stunts, special effects, and the involvement of author Stephenie Meyer. Another featurette looks at the Comic-Con frenzy; however, it spends no time on how the actors were cast, which would have been fun for fans who did all their own mental casting while reading the books. (Witty&wry - just forget the tired cliches)
『My first impression about a quarter way into this movie, was "Oh, NO! Another aliens-as-racial-minority metaphor!" Yes, yes, I know all that, I just wanna be entertained- that theme's been done, then done again, then again ..ad nauseum. I was thinking the only way to save the plot line was to have the aliens relocated to Chicago as new Obama voters. Then I was pleasantly surprised.

So what does save this movie and transcends it beyond the predictable racism-is-bad, apartheid-is-bad "message", what saves it is that ultimately it doesn't take itself seriously, at which point the movie becomes immensely entertaining. The matter of fact story telling absorbs the viewer to accept the premise despite one's common sense. Looking like something I ate at last summer's clambake, the alien CGI is nearly flawless.

Best of all, the witty screenplay has such wry humor that it leaves nothing and no one unscathed. From the Afrikaner elites, to the S.A. Blacks ( who, themselves victims of cruel apartheid, display the same sentiments to these new arrivals), to the aliens themselves portrayed more like insects with a gusto for cat food and tires, advanced technology notwithstanding. Not to mention the proverbial military-industrial complex (always a good villain). Even political correctness is mocked as we follow that dolt of a protagonist's rise via nepotism to a position of authority. His adventures inspecting the District is a rich example of sarcasm as mockumentary.

Of course the tired apartheid-alien message continues throughout the movie: segregated slums, Nazi inspired experiments, sham laws, forced mass evacuations, one from the "majority" transforming into one of the "minority". But as the movie progresses this theme becomes so cliche that it barely rises to consciousness and renders it meaningless. And that is a good thing. There's a world of serious cinema dealing with that subject more worthy to explore than a movie such as this. At best, maybe use it as a teaching tool on your middle-schooler about the lessons of apartheid.

So to all initially put off about this film, I say give it a view. It won't disappoint.』

『A provocative science fiction drama,District 9boasts an original story that gets a little lost in blow-'em-up mayhem. Set in Johannesburg, South Africa,District 9begins as a mock documentary about the imminent eviction of extraterrestrials from a pathetic shantytown (called District 9). The creatures, it turns out, have been on Earth for years, having arrived sickly and starving. Initially received by humans with compassion and care, the aliens are now mired in blighted conditions typical of long-term refugee camps unwanted by a hostile, host society. With the creatures' care contracted out to a for-profit corporation, the shantytown has become a violent slum. The aliens sift through massive piles of junk while their minders secretly research weapons technology that arrived on the visitors' spacecraft.

Against this backdrop is a more personal story about a bureaucrat named Wikus (Sharlto Copley) who is accidentally exposed to a DNA-altering substance. 『It's hard to find much Wizard of Oz merchandise that is not collectible quality. I bought these to go onto cupcakes, but they are really bookmarks/paperclips. My kids have also clipped them on to shirt collars, jacket pockets and skirt hems. The plastic is thicker than I thought it would be, so they are fairly sturdy for cupcake picks. My only issue is the price of shipping...which was almost equivalent to the cost of the picks. But, unless you are looking for Disney stuff, it's hard to find other themed party merchandise in local stores.』

『If you are looking for a projector to replace your 1080I HDTV, or are planning on upgrading to HD service with a projector, plan on spending a bit more money than this. The NATIVE RESOLUTION of this projector is 800x600. This means, even though it will accept a 1080I signal, it will DOWNSCALE(compress) the image to fit the maximum physical resolution of 800x600. Your resolution will be higher definition than if you were watching on a standard TV, but it will not be a true 1080I picture.
If you are just looking for a cheap projector to hook up for fun, like to a WII, or for kids movie parties or whatever, this is a great deal since it is compatable with just about everything.

I just wanted to give you all a heads up, please make sure whatever projector you are buying, meets your 'native resolution' (maximum true definition) needs.

『I purchased the projector for my son's birthday party sleepover. We wanted to have his guest play the Wii outside on the garage door. The delivery was FAST. Set up was easy. The day of the party, I just knew something would go wrong with it......but it didn't. The graphics are awesome in the dark. The input for sound is standard. When you increase the volume too high you hear a humming sound. That problem is fixable. My husband plugged in a speaker that we had in the basement and the kids went wild with the sound and graphics. The projector is compatible with our Wii, PS3, and dvd player. We don't have the Xbox 360 so I don't know how well it would work with that system. Overall I was a bit skeptical, but we are throughly satisfied with the projector.』

I went through several of the better known brands, finally settling on Verbatim because they performed consistently, both in the burning process (with no errors), and in the playback modes as well. I highly recommend the brand, for reliability and consistent quality.』

Looking on Amazon I found this units and picked up the 1 TB version. This worked wonderfully and I moved all the music to this drive and I have had no problems. The only issue I have had is that my PC now starts a little slower, but this is my PC not this unit. I took it over to a friend's house and there was no issue. Good Price, fast shipping. 『I bought this product on Nov. 15, but once I got it and tried it out, I asked Amazon to return it real quick because of picture quality, which does not match with its price at all.
I bought this camera because this one was supposed to be a good pocket camera for me;I have my expectation that it would be a good auto-mode camera.
Yet, it is really disappointed that its automode does not do its job well.
Seriously, comparing it with my Canon SD1100, my Canon gives me much better picture quality (colors, details, sharpness, and such).

Only one good thing is Panorama feature, but it isn't good enough to spend this much money

I am not a pro camera,so my terminology might not be precisely correct.
Yet, I am smart enough to see what is a good picture like.

Please consider really carefully if you want to buy this camera.
Personally, I do not recommend it.

One more thing, this product is made in China: do not buy it if you mind it.』

『I use this drive for Time Machine backups on a G4 iMac running OS X 10.5.8 . It works well, with the following caveats:

*If high data transfer rates are important to you, the Mac version of this drive is a better choice. This model does not support FireWire and has only a USB 2.0 connector.

*While Macs will allow plug-and-play usage of this drive for many purposes, it is better to do a repartitioning before loading data onto it. The drive comes pre-formatted for Windows, but Mac users can easily change the drive to Apple's PowerPC or Intel format using OS X's Disk Utility (there are clear instructions in the Support area of the Seagate website).

*The bundled disk management utilities are for Windows only and will be erased if the disk is repartitioned.

*After repartitioning, the automatic sleep and power-down functions of the drive still work. If the drive goes to sleep too often for your work patterns (there isn't any way to change the sleep parameters without using the Windows utilities), Seagate has a downloadable Mac patch, again in the Support area of its website, that disables the drive's built-in sleep function and allows OS X's Energy Saver preferences to control the drive.

『My son was desperate for a Batman costume. We ordered this from Amazon.com and he counted the days 'til it would arrive. My son is a tiny 6 yr old (35 lbs, 3 1/2 ft) so we ordered the small (size 4-6 yrs). This thing is sooooo long that we have to pin up the hemmed legs, but the neck hole is too small - we can't fasten it. He loves it, though, and the quality seems to be pretty good. Unless your 4-y/o is headed for the NBA, you might want to consider a different size.』

『My son tried on a friend's batman costume and wouldn't take it off for about 2 hours, so we got him one for his birthday. He loves disappearing and reemerging as the dark knight - seems to be well made for what it is, better than the cheapo typical Halloween costumes with plastic masks and flimsy materials. The only thing that would be nice is if it had the muscle torso, we may add our own padding. The only issue was we ordered 2 (one for a gift) and Costume Kingdom only sent 1. When called, the quickly sent the 2nd one.

(Smelly, Complicated, Fragile Junk)
『My 4 year old son is a huge Star Wars fan. We have 5 light sabers. And he wanted an Anakin costume as a reward for finding my long lost wedding band. So I bought this. Unfortunately.

The package smelled of plasticizer and solvent, and spent 2 days in the garage degassing before deemed fit for humans.

The cloth portions of the costume are amazingly shoddy and rippable. The belt cannot be adjusted reasonably for the range of girths of small children. It's non-obvious how some portions are supposed to be worn. And the "boots" are not very flexible for differing shoe sizes.

All in all a big waste of money. Compare and contrast with a quality costume like the Disney Buzz Lightyear costume my son and now my daughter have worn literally dozens of times without so much as a torn seam or a busted zipper. And that's the deal, for a little more you get a toy which will be used a lot, making the cost per use negligible. In this case, my son tried to use the costume twice and gave up; making it an expensive blunder on my part.』

『I bought the size medium (size 8) for my 7 year old son. The head opening was so small the shirt tore at the seams trying to get it over his head. Meanwhile, the belt was so huge it couldn't stay up at all. And my son is not a lightweight - he is a very solid and on the "big side" of average for his age - this belt would have needed to be 8 inches shorter to stay up. Just ridiculous. Not to mention, the belt was pieced together with stinky (very smelly) plastic that had a dirty gritty feel to it and pieces hanging off, as though it were about to fall apart. Appalling quality.
Also don't be fooled by the photo of this costume. The modeled picture looks much better than the actual one you will receive. The "leather" vest/sash thing is much more narrow in real life, and much shorter. While in the modeled pictures it appears as though the brown colors are varied (dark brown vest, medium brown shirt, lighter brown pants) in reality it's all the same poopy color and all runs together. Total junk. I ended up returning this Anakin costume in favor of the Clone Wars version that was half the price - and it was twice as nice!!!!』

『I thought that the locket would be nicer... And the box. It's cute for a kid but I was getting it for my cousin's high school graduation present. I wasn't really impressed. It was just a little too cheesy. But I'm sure a younger girl would like it...』

『I gave this to my friend's daughter for her 12th birthday. She was thrilled with it. As an adult, I thought the little locket was a somewhat cheesy looking, but she ooh'd and ah'd and as far as I know has worn it every day since. The music played well. It's not an "educational" item, and I wouldn't really call it a toy, either, but if you have a young girl who can't get enough of Twilight, this is for you.』

『Since there's not as much commentary on the music that this box produces, I'll add that my research has shown me that it plays and loops exactly 13 notes from the entire song. I had considered buying it to gut it for the music box, but I found someone showing off theirs online and I don't think anyone could pay me to take the box off their hands. The segment of the song is so short that it gets annoying by the third loop and manages to repeat about 4 times per 10 seconds.

Not so much a "you get what you pay for" item (otherwise it'd cost about .50 or less) but one serious rip off for the $20 versus quality.』

『As an adult Twilight fan, I too was interested in this item, thinking I could put my trinkets inside. I was so very disappointed when it arrived, box was made of a cheap cardboard (not wood like I expected), the hinge wasn't even, the locket is plastic with a sticker placed crookedly inside, the music itself even sounded like something from a child's toy. Being that the Twilight phenomenon appeals (and is marketed) to teens and older, I think Amazon could have done better at finding something worth the $$ they're charging.

(To be a kid again!)
『Back when I was a kid, I LOVED my collection of Transformers. Truth be told, many of them are probably still squirreled away somewhere in my mom's basement (she has a problem getting rid of stuff...). After seeing the first movie, I was determined to start collecting the new series. Unfortunately, with four kids of my own, a rather hefty pricetag on the new models, and mediocre reviews on them, I thought twice. But when I saw this one when I was walking through my local discount store the other day (and for slightly less than it's being sold here), I just had to have it.

While the new models aren't the heavy duty diet cast metal I remember from childhood, this Bumblebee seems to be rather solidly built (and, let's face it, those older models were probably covered in lead-based paint!). I like how the two modes have snap-in parts to keep the robot in robot mode and the car in car mode without them falling apart. I'll admit, I had to look at the instructions to get the transformation complete, but I still got in on the first try.

While this won't be subjected to the rigors of daily play, I'm very happy with it. The detail on both modes is impressive and the robot looks very much like the one in the movie. Autobots... let's roll!』
