However, with Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson, I was expecting to be laughing out loud a lot more, and I wasn't. By the end of the film, it seems more like a shallow love story than a comedy film. Good for some laughs, but these actors have done better films.』

BUT, this film is extremely funny although some people may find it a little over the top...cringe worthy...I came out feeling very happy to have seen it, talking to my friend about it constantly for about a day, quoting little snippets, but when i think back some of the humour was to say the least a little poor in places but this did not spoil the film. If i had to be honest I loved most of the film, especially with Will Ferrel popping up in the film. WATCH THIS FILM! you just wont want to go out and buy it afterwards its just too much of the same all the way through. But even so it is very funny. (You Talk About a Day...)
『"I'm not even supposed to be here today", says Dante, an overworked counter jockey who, like you probably know, has to deal with every single bad customer known to man, as well as angst, love problems, and the general feeling that nothing is going the way that he wants. Who would have thought that such a seemingly mundane topic and premise turned into something like this. Clerks is proof that screenplays are what makes a movie so great. The black and white look really fades when your watching the movie, as you forget it's in black and white. Forget the fact that it's low-budget, it's a high quality piece of work, a good example of what to make in a movie, especially for a young aspiring film-maker.

Clerks is a day in the life of Dante Hicks, a store worker who is called in on Saturday, to his dismay, which is supposed to be his day off. It's easy to see why he's dreading work, as being a worker at a ______ grocery store in New Jersey isn't exactly working at Apple designing the next iPod or making a movie at Pixar Studios (have you seen the studio of Pixar?). But dealing with rude customers is hardly the point here, as the characters go on beyond the typical rude stuck up jerk that treats the store clerks like garbage, These people deal drugs, be annoying jocks, and die in the bathroom (as well as violate his ex-girlfriend). Along the way, Dante and his wisecracking (and totally awesome) friend Randal hang out, play hockey (by closing the store), deal with their love lives (very important!), and even go to wake (with disasterous outcome)

What makes Clerks so great is the script. That script. It has a lot of hilarious jokes and one-liners abound, but I think the dialogue is just well written. It's sometimes random, and often references pop culture and features heated arguments about the things that matter most in life: Sci-fi, $#%, and confrontation of problems. And the conversations that they have are absolutely great, totally hilarious. It's kind of like what makes Tarantino dialogue great, although different, the comparisons are pretty accurate as far as quality. No wonder Tarantino himself has been a fan of his works, as he publically expresses his admiration for Smith in one way or another (Smith invited him to a screening of Clerks 2 before it was released).

Oh, and the characters are absolutely amazing and nearly impossible not to like, or laugh at. These characters are all part of a universe, and they are all very memorable. These are the kind of people you wish were real so you could hang out them. Dante is angsty yet pretty understandable protagonist, and despite his whinery, you still like him anyway. Same goes for both Veronica and Caitiln. Of course, Randal is my favorite, a wise-cracking, and all around awesome person, the type of person that lives to Po and offend other people and knows why it's so fun. The way he talks to some people make him my own personal hero. And there's the idiots who come in to the store. As mentioned before, you don't deal with generic customers. Anti-smoking gum advertisers, the most annoying type of jock on planet, a prude (boy did I want to punch this guy in the face), and an old man who dies while....nevermind. I also love the montage of idiot customers with the stupidest questions, that make you just laugh ("What would you get for a six year old boy who chronically wets his bed") Can't forget Jay and Silent Bob either, the two hilarious stoners, one who knows how to love fast and the other who has plenty words of wisdom when the time comes.

It also has some good messages about being a teenager. I'm not too fond and don't let movies tell me what I should think and I don't let them shape my viewpoints. But I just can't help but agree with what Randal says about the situation that Dante, and probably many of us, have been in. I feel the ending (I'll try not to spoil it) really is a great one, much better than the alternative ending, which is an immature ending and ruins the whole message of the movie, whatever it is. It shows that you really can't let angst and problems get you down, and it ends on a good note to send out the movie and really represents a good solution to the many problems faced when in the situation of Dante.

In the end, Clerks doesn't rely on anything regarding style, atmosphere, or any other parts of film-making, Clerks is made thanks to colorful characters, a great script, and some interesting messages. Another thing is that it makes me actually like the characters a lot, a whole lot, soemthing movies with such ordinary people have trouble doing, because, after there all, they are fictional. Besides some great songs in the movie, there is no other gimmicks behind it. Clerks really is a movie with situations that make you want to watch, like the characters, and laugh at the many idiots this movie displays. Really, this is a great comedy movie, and it's worth watching to this day.

Dante Hicks (Brian O'Halloran) is suppose to be in charge of his convinence store, but life seems kind of harsh for him and his friend video-store clerk Randall (Jeff Anderson). Dante's girlfriend Veronica (Marylin Ghigliotti) has been fighting with him and wants to get back to old girlfriend Caitlyn Bree (Lisa Spoonhauer) as the two fellows seem to be harsh to their costumers and seem to be goofing off.

Brilliant independent cult comedy which marked the debut of writer-director-actor Kevin Smith is one of the 90's best and original comedies. Here this movie gives us original characters that no one will forget including the live-action equalant to Beavis and Butt-Head known as Silent Bob (Kevin Smith) and Jay (Jason Mews) who are badass stoner characters. I love how the clerks in this movie are speaking to each other about movies including on which Star Wars is better and how they goof around when they are suppose to work. The film is very funny but it does contain very vulger language that aren't for virgin ears but however this comedy surely isn't for everyone.

『This film pokes fun at good old fashioned American College campus antics. Gone are the good old days. Not really, you can relive them in this outrageous film. I love Donald Sutherland's sleepwalk performance as Prof. Dave Jennings. It is a real hoot. Verna Bloom is an unlikely and hilarious seductress. Tim Matheson is a standout and his career has never got the recognition it deserved. Matheson's cool aplomb really makes this film work along with Elmer Bernstein's score doing a somewhat self parody especially on his own swashbuckling THE BUCCANEER score with John Belush's antics during the parade.』

『I have to take two stars from the overall rating because it's over a decade since Blue Heat was originally released.

<>It is almost as hard to find the XP patch as it is to find a copy of the game. (One star gone)
<>The graphics are by current standards almost unplayable/obsolete on current graphics cards. (For 640x480 movie graphics one star gone)

That said Blue Heat is one of the last great live action adult games that ever made it to mainstream distribution in the 90's. The plot line is comparable to most of the current softcore "Hentia" style Japanese graphic novel games but with the branch of the plot you follow defined more by how well you (as the detective) have solved the case then by the dialog you choose.

Lots of hard bodies, Just the right amount of T&A, and a plot fit for a prime time Crime Drama. Rare in 1997 Blue Heat is Ultra Rare now in 2009, not because of the difficulty in finding a copy but because it really does require you to play the role of detective instead of just clicking dialog. Sit back with a pad of paper, some snacks, and enjoy solving a well planned murder mystery.

『This has to be a true classic movie for anybody. Parton, Fonda, Tomlin play the three main characters set in a big business office block, "Consolidated". Dolly Parton is excellent, portraying the country girl, Jane Fonda as the divorced housewife's first job role, and Lily Tomlin as the bosses stepping stone. The film is full of one line crack jokes which can be missed on the first time you watch it. Do watch the movie a few times, and soon you'll pick up on how funny the lines are "Violet, did you get my Memo?", "I did Roz, I tore right through it". Later in the film the plot is well underway and animation is combined successfully with Tomlin's scene of a Snow White type character! I loved this film, and my laserdisc copy is always on the top of the pile. A good all rounder to be watched over and over, and I sometimes find myself using those punch lines. Dolly Parton provides the "9 to 5" opening music, which sets the movie off to a good pace.』

『I made the mistake of lending my copy to a neighbor 7 years ago and then moved away. I have searched and searched over the years trying to find this wonderful, classic movie on DVD. Since it is still not available, I am willing to pay a rather high sum to replace the VHS I lost...yes, I love it that much! The film is filled with such _itchy fun from all of the women and the cat fight scene is one of the very best I have ever seen...I get giddy each time I see Ann Miller get riled up. Agnes Moorehead as Countess is a fun marriage-friendly lady with fun lines. Joan Collins as Crystal is simply a precursor to her role on Dynasty years later...a nasty piece of work! June Allyson is a bit schmaltzy through out most of the movie but she finally gets her "Jungle Red" claws out in the end and looks like she is finally having some fun! Awesome cast...Joan Blondel rocks as an ever-pregnant put upon friend. I was looking forward to the remake of the Women with Meg Ryan but UGH! What a waste...they made it so politically correct I just wanted to gag! They took out all of the catty fun and delicious one-liners! Enjoy ladies! Tell your husband to head to a ball game or something and call all of your gal pals over for a great Girls Movie Night! Fun! Fun! Fun!』

『Ok, this was supposed to be informational and a great way to spice up love. I and my wife took a total of 15 min, after which I then played the dvd 4x speed. The only thing erotic about it is that the woman wears something silky. Other than that it's a regular massage, but a crappy one at that. The "Sensual" word in the title is misleading, because once again, there is nothing sensual, or even unusual about the massage itself.

Next, the massage is crap. The narrator tells you to do one thing, the model couple is doing something else. He tells you to work the lower back, the couple is working the upper back. He wants you to knead the muscles, the couple is doing long strokes and some fanning. My wife doesn't even know how to massage and she could tell you that the couple wasn't following the instructor whatsoever. On top of that, the man getting the massage wouldn't have even have enjoyed it. The model woman was basically tickling the man's back, not applying any pressure, and again, NEVER following the narrators instruction.

The entire DVD had low budget written all over it (I'm talking a college kid's independent film), the techniques were never showing, the movie wasn't sensual, and it's a huge waste. My guess is that every single reviewer out there that had something good to say is either a friend or relative of the producer/seller, or else they're ignorant of what massage techniques actually are (so they just followed the model couple and figured they were doing something right).』

『The mosquito cartridges worked so well in our Flowtron 80W that I decided to try the fly lure. $25.08 for ONE flimsy piece of 'stuff' to attach to the outside of the Flowtron. Not only did I NOT see any dead flies after attaching this item, we had a 20 mile wind with a slight rain one night about a week after putting it on the unit, the next morning this $25.08 flimsy piece of 'stuff' was broke in half and laying on the ground. 『First, let me say that the stock photo of the red bottle is not the correct photo for this item. It is a white bottle with aqua and light brown lettering. I have tried many shampoos from store brands to pricey brands. The latest was Pureology Nanoworks. I read endless reviews about it so gave it a try. I didn't like it at all. It made my hair and scalp super greasy so I still have most of it left. Then I tried this one (the regular Soy Milk Shampoo, NOT the Soy Milk Moisture Shampoo) and my hair is finally balanced. I can wash my hair every other day without getting oily and it keeps my hair hydrated. It does not make my scalp itchy at all. I have severe allergies to various foods, products, pollen, you name it and this works great for me. I LOVE IT!』

『I'm someone who is allergic to seemingly everything. And I've had bad luck with various and sundry shampoos and conditioners that are supposedly "professional," "all natural," and the like. So I'm not discounting the other reviewer who had lousy luck with this product. But I did want to say that this shampoo (along with the corresponding conditioner) works really, really well for me. My hair happens to be quite thick and extremely prone to frizziness. Think Gilda Radner on a humid day. Plus it's color-treated. These products keep it under control.

That said.... The way I learned about this particular product was through my stylist. I've since been buying it on Amazon because it's cheaper. :-) IMHO the place to get advice as to what you should and should not put on your head is at your local, trusted salon.』

『I cant even start to explain how horrible this shampoo is, they are lying by saying its completely natural (it has ingredients that are proven to irriate the scalp: sodium laureth sulfate, methylchloroisothiazolinone, methylparaben) it is also a lie that its good for your hair my scalp has been itching like mad ever since i started using this. i have a very sensitive scalp so its hard to find a shampoo that doesn't hurt it, if this is really natural it shouldn't be hurting my scalp, but that's not all, because it could just be that im allergic to something in it, it also made my hair dry and i lost a lot of shine. i wont suggest alternatives, because i tend to disregard posts that tell people to buy other products, because it could be self advertisement, but i will say that you should research the ingredients that aren't good for your hair and scalp.』

『This paper works excellent with the R1800. The gloss optimizer that the printer uses gives it a great wet look that beats anything a lab can produce. You would easily pay 10 dollars and up per photo for the quality you are getting.

I have one complaint - and I wish that Amazon would listen. When I order large, 13x19, paper, Amazon ships it in a HUGE box filled with all sorts of brown crumbled paper. I think this is incredibly wasteful and I'm trying to source large paper locally just to avoid the amount of paper that is consumed in sending it.

『One of the greatest films of all time, GWTW is a fascinating depiction of Southern life during and after the Civil War. This review, however, is for the product, not the film. I give the product four out of five stars for the following reasons:

1) This edition comes with many extras, even a recreation of the program used 70 years ago. Also included is a sample of the original motion picture soundtrack and roughly eight hours worth of bonus features, including documentaries, commentary, and more. While the product description mentions ten 5"x7" water color pictures (which it does include), it also comes with recreated telegrams, letters and more from the cast, crew and production company.

2) The film transfer is beautifully done. The film flows smoothly and is featured on two DVDs. While that is rather annoying, having to get up and change DVDs or wait as the player automatically shifts between the two, that sacrifice for the beauty of the film is well worth it.

3) The price is rather high for what you get. I love the film and had no problem paying the money for it, but the price is still rather high. Taking into account all the facts that there are only 150,000 copies out there, the price seems rather reasonable for such a "rare" item. Even with that, it's still rather high.

All in all, definitely worth the value you put into it. One quick side note here before I finish. The film IS presented in original format, which is FULLSCREEN. Films prior to 1953 were not shown in theaters in what we now know as WIDESCREEN. This was developed in the early fifties during the television boom to help add to the experience movie-goers wanted. EVEN WITH THAT IN MIND, the set is great and I highly recommend it.

(70th Anniversary Collector's Edition Blu-ray WOW!)
『I usually don't like purchasing collector's edition boxes as I don't usually care for the extra items and they are bulky to store. The boxed set of Gone With The Wind impressed me though. It is elegantly packaged in red velvet box and the extra items are awesome as well, like the David Selznick memos about choosing among Clark Gable, Gary Cooper and Errol Flynn for the role of Rhett, the hardbound photo book and souvenir program reproduction. The price at Amazon was also almost half the regular price, so the purchase was well worth it. Best of all, I got the set yesterday on the day of release, even though I used the free-shipping option. I noticed that Amazon is now using Ontrac for delivery and the orders seem to arrive much quicker.

Now for the blu-ray itself...the transfer is simply awesome. The color correction and clarity are breathtaking. I actually noticed wrinkles on Vivien Leigh and Leslie Howard's faces, which make you realize that they were actually older than the roles they played. The film is in the original 1.33 aspect ratio, which was common for movies in those days. I know some people are looking for the widescreen version, which this film was not originally shot in. If you have a good HDTV, the solution is simple by viewing using wide zoom to fill the screen. You lose part of the top and bottom details, but there's usually not much there. I do mind when they crop the sides to make widescreen fit regular screens (pan&scan) as you lose lots of details on the sides. However, if you want to see this movie in its original glory with all the details, then watch it in the original aspect ratio. I also like that the whole movie is in one disc for continuous viewing without having to change discs. You know how long it sometimes takes to load a blu-ray disc, but this one loads fast as they don't have the elaborate menus to slow it down.

There are many extras on the second disc and the only one I viewed so far was the restoration process, which is always fascinating to me because of the age of the movie.

Overall, this collection is well worth the purchase. I just wonder what they will come up next for the 75th anniversary. Maybe by that time HDTV's can display at 8000p and we'll end up seeing more details than available now.』
『David O. Selznick wantedGone with the Windto be somehow more than a movie, a film that would broaden the very idea of what a film could be and do and look like. In many respects he got what he worked so hard to achieve in this 1939 epic (and all-time box-office champ in terms of tickets sold), and in some respects he fell far short of the goal. While the first half of this Civil War drama is taut and suspenseful and nostalgic, the second is ramshackle and arbitrary. But there's no question that the film is an enormous achievement in terms of its every resource--art direction, color, sound, cinematography--being pushed to new limits for the greater glory of telling an American story as fully as possible. Vivien Leigh is still magnificently narcissistic, Olivia de Havilland angelic and lovely, Leslie Howard reckless and aristocratic. As for Clark Gable: we're talking one of the most vital, masculine performances ever committed to film.--Tom Keogh

I've been using this cup every day for a couple months and coffee always tastes fresh. The porcelain cup is easy to get clean, and the silicone lid does not effect the taste of the coffee (though it is easily stained). This would be a 5 start product except for two flaws:

1. It is small. As mentioned in other reviews, it holds less than a "Tall" Starbucks cup.

2. It leaks like a sieve around the lid seal. I have to keep a paper towel underneath the cup to prevent rings of coffee pooling on my desk.

Bought a ceramic/silicone combo coffee cups because of the smell factor that stainless steel cups eventually take on. Nothing prepared me for the stench that this came with using this cup ONCE!

Washed this cup and lid, poured on cup of coffee (black) into it and immediantly some chemical reaction happened to the point of after the second sip, my stomach turned and I dumped everything out left the cup in the sink and grabbed the standby coffee cup to head to work.

The stench and staining that ONE CUP OF COFFEE has damaged at the molecular level is amazing.

Save yourself from wasting $20, go to the Salvation Army and buy up a bunch of cermaic mugs and proceed to destroy through commuting. $20 should buy about 40 cups.
