Right after The Killers exploded onto the music scene in 2004, it was pretty obvious that they has a talent for writing great songs that will stand the test of time. We chose to create an original work of art out of the lyrics to Mr. Brightside because of the stunning visuals in the songs lyrics. Its a fantastic story of love and jealousy that we feel we captured perfectly in this image. Mr. Brightside is one of the most popular, radio friendly songs that have been released in years. We are proud to celebrate the success of this song in our art.

(ok)
(Integrated learning manual to love inside out) Gay and Kathleen have done it again! As leaders on the edge of the consciousness revolution they've taken their experience and wisdom of conscious evolution into the arena of love relationships. The CD provides practical, first hand experience of their most powerful techniques and their writing speaks directly to the heart and soul of the reader. If you've ever wondered how to chart a more fulfilling and satisfying path toward genuine love this book will delight and accelerate you toward that end. This book has good ideas-it's a short, simple read. It's another book about thinking positive thoughts and looking at your fears and confronting them. The included CD skipped on the 8th track which had the 'big secret' ..so I am not fully sure what that is. I survived. Using this and other positive thoughts I opened myself up and am going on a 2nd date with a girl I met a few weeks ago. So basically the message is to think, percieve and believe and you'll get it. I know I had and still do have fears and apprehensions about stopping 'the seach' for 'the one' --this book assisted in hammering into my head that I am the one who is behind the lack in my life- and if I REALLY want something- I need to focus on it, define it, let go of fears and go get it. Drs. Kathlyn and Gay Hendricks offer a step-by-step learning manual complete with a CD on attracting in love. The path is developed from inner love, removing emotional and sub-conscious blocks to a healthy loving relationshipw ith oneself ... and then extending it outward. The meditations offer a chance to experience the lessons in action. If you want to learn from people who have achieved what you are looking for, the Hendricks are one of the best teachers in conscious loving. Attracting Genuine Love distills the Hendricks essential principles for finding and keeping love into one immersive, results-oriented program. With them, you will learn how to: · Identify your Three Absolute Yess and Three Absolute Nos. Your relationship must-haves and deal-breakers essential for relationship success. · Remove the number one obstacle that prevents you from having the relationship you want. · Move through the three crucial psychological and emotional shifts necessary to find lifelong love. · Attract a partner who shares your deepest desires and values · Make a "soul-level commitment" to yourself, the critical step to invite love into your life · Discover the power of fearless honesty, moment-by-moment communication, and the three other "real rules" to create a conscious relationship. customer 's review (Let's talk about sex...)
(Great film)
(A Strange Movie)
(Great Movie!)
(I enjoyed it while I was watching it but...) One of the smartest and all around cleverest films I've had the pleasure of ever seeing; `Sex, Lies and Videotape' is a very moving and poignant study of the effect that sex has on our lives. Taking four individuals and placing them under scrutiny, Soderbergh's masterpiece single-handedly does what so many have attempted to do in the past; take sex out of the bedroom and place it in the living-room, where we all are forced to confront it.
Be aware though, despite the films rather graphic subject, the content here within is no where near as graphic as one might expect it to be. This is not an `adult film' but a study of adults; there is a difference.
The film tells the story of unhappily married couple Ann and John Mullany. In the opening scene we hear Ann telling her therapist that she believes John is having an affair because he no longer longs to touch her. She has found herself distanced from him and she wonders who he is sleeping with. The answer is Cynthia, Ann's flirtatious sister. Cynthia and John have been sleeping with one another for some time now, and Ann has only a suspicion but no hard evidence. The Graham walks into their lives. Graham is John's old college roommate who stops by for an extended visit. He brings with him his fetesh; videotape.
Not what you think.
Graham, being impotent, likes to videotape women talking about their fantasies and desires. He records their most intimate of secrets and uses them later for his own fantasies. The videotapes are a mask to hide the pain of his own failures with women, a way for him to stay guarded because commitment is something that terrifies him. The videotape is a way for Graham to experience love and lust without ever having to give of himself and so he exploits those he knows in an attempt to salvage the humanity he has left in himself. He is scorned and guilty and ashamed, and this plays heavily into why he feels it necessary to restrict himself of a woman's touch and rely wholly on the fantasies they cement for him on film.
This movie is so much deeper than `sex', believe me.
The film is elevated by some very strong performances; most notably by the female portion of the cast. Laura San Giacomo is astonishing as the deliciously despicable Cynthia. She oozes forth with this creamy seduction that captures her characters personality disorders marvelously. Andie MacDowell has found the perfect film for her form of acting. I said this before with `Four Weddings and a Funeral', where she was perfectly cast as the uninteresting girl you can't help but find interesting. MacDowell is one of those actresses who rarely excites you; but here she manages to use that sullen demeanor to create a woman ravaged by an unidentifiable pain. She doesn't understand why she feels so lost and so distant and it haunts her, and she bleeds that through with each passing scene. James Spader is effectively reserved, as he is almost always, and Peter Gallagher manages not to disgust me (I really dislike this guy for the most part) but as a whole this movie belongs to the women.
In the end I must recommend this movie. Sure, it is a little rough in some scenes so don't expect a PG film here; there is a rating system for a reason, but if you can appreciate film as an art form then you will find much to appreciate here. This is a thinking mans film for it exposes the highs and low of America's favorite pastime (okay, humanities favorite pastime) allowing us to finally understand why this `activity' is so vitally important. Late in the movie, a character asks:
"What am I supposed to do? Am I supposed to recount all the points in my life leading up to this moment, and then hope that it's coherent; that it makes some sort of sense to you. It doesn't make any sense to me. You know, I was there. And I don't have the slightest idea who I am. And I'm supposed to be able to explain it to you..."
The film believes that open, sincere discussion can make us aware of the solutions to most of our lives' problems. But it's not necessarily something a therapist or even a husband and wife can always accomplish. Effective discussion probes into the depths of our minds. Effective discussion finds a way underneath the surface of our routine, everyday thoughts; reaches deep into our memories; and illuminates those choices/values that matter most, that best define who we are.
The topic the film talks most about is sex, as you probably guessed. But it goes deeper than that, too, into how we define ourselves, how we live our lives.
The film is enormously ambitious, and succeeds beautifully.
I will watch this one many more times. While I am always amazed by Spader, this is a really strange movie. It is really more psychological than graphic and you sort of lose the point of the whole thing. It was like he would rather hear someone talk about it than DO it, which I really don't understand but guess different strokes... HB This is definitely a classic movie. It is wonderful and introduced Steven Sodenburgh, Neil LaBute, James Spader and Andie MacDowell to the world. The story is involves a troubled married couple, a sister who is sleeping with her sister's husband, and a strange man who enters the picture. The man had trouble in love in high school and never got over it. He has grown into a man who masturbates to video interviews with women about sex. He can't have sex with another person. This strange man, played by James Spader, provides a catalyst for all these lives to change. The lives of John (Peter Gallagher) and Ann (Andie MacDowell), a young married couple, and Ann's sister, Cynthia (Laura San Giacomo), are forever changed when John's school friend, Graham (James Spader), an impotent man who gets off by video taping women talking about sex, comes to visit.
I really enjoyed watching "Sex, Lies and Videotape" while I was watching it. I sat down with the intention of only watching the first half hour and ended up watching it all in one sitting because I just couldn't bring myself to press stop. I really wanted to know what would happen next, particularly as the film neared its end, and I really enjoyed watching all of the actors involved, who are all excellent, but especially James Spader, who is wonderfully creepy, and Andie MacDowell (whom I usually dislike intensely), as the "nice" sister. However, although all of the individual scenes within the film were brilliant, when I got to the end, I just felt that the whole film was rather pointless and I ended up walking away feeling disappointed. For me, the ending just wasn't strong enough to live up to the promise of the earlier scenes. The revelations weren't big enough, and the ending wasn't final enough.
I am glad that I saw this film, as I have wondered about it for as long as I can remember, and I would probably watch it again, just to see James Spader, but I don't think it's as great a film as other critics would have you believe.
Winner of the Palm d'Or and Best Actor awards at the 1989 Cannes Film Festival, sex, lies, and videotapetransformed the independent film industry and turned writer-director Steven Soderbergh into the envy of aspiring filmmakers everywhere. Sly, seductive, and coolly intelligent, the movie explores the sexual shenanigans and personal preoccupations of its four central characters, revolving around a selfish lawyer (Peter Gallagher) who responds to his wife by having an affair with her free-spirited sister (Laura San Giacomo). But when the lawyer's college roommate (James Spader) arrives for an unexpectedly extended visit, the neglected wife (Andie MacDowell) is surprisingly responsive to his seductive hobby of videotaping women as they describe their sexual fantasies. It's his way of compensating for impotence, but the curious wife considers this a sexual challenge, and Soderbergh turnssex, lies, and videotapeinto a fascinating chamber piece that puts a decidedly different spin on the consequences of infidelity. Balanced on a risky and finely tuned performance by Spader, the film delivers frisky passion and emotional intrigue, and yet much of its allure is found in the exchange of secrets and the hidden mysteries of sexual desire.--Jeff Shannon Rerations < Sex, Lies, and Videotape >

(Thanks for Robbing Me of my Money)
(Don't be fooled. Save your money.)
(Makes me horny looking at my sexy wife!) I found this video very informative even for a man of my mature years. I cannot say I learnt much, but still found it very informative and not the least obtrusive. The video was easy to view and is a video you would have no fear in showing someone close to you, as it explained the facts of the information it was reviewing. I would have no hesitation in informing others that it is a video well worth obtaining, especially for younger married couples. I would just like to thank the Sinclair Institute for robbing me and the other 4 million people who bought their videos of our money.
I cannot believe that someone would produce something that is this terrible.
Let me save you some money. This video reveals no "SECRETS" to sex and no "AMAZING" positions. The Doctors that give the advice provide a lot of Medical Mumbo Jumbo.
Let me save you some money. The video has bad actors filmed in a terrible setting. It looks like a bad 70s adult flick. Yes a 70s film. Nothing from this millennium that's for sure.
As for an overall synopsis: Pay attention to your lover and try to satisfy them. Try different places and positions for sex. And oh yes, men and women love oral sex. Come on Sinclair, everyone knows that.
Thanks but no thanks... I purchased the Better Sex Videos with my boyfriend because we were looking for something new for our relationship. Well I purchased this DVD with their Sexual Positions For Lovers - Beyond the Missionary Position.
What a mistake. When the DVD arrived I noticed that the couples are not attractive (turn off for both of us), the quality was terrible, and the information provided was basic information that everyone knows. As for the positions, they are general positions that anyone knows.
This company claims that they have sold 4 million videos. I wonder how many returns they have gotten out of those 4 million.
I would give this and the Sexual Positions For Lovers - Beyond the Missionary Position zero stars if I could. Don't be fooled. Save your money.
If you are looking for a great sex position DVD, try: Sex Essentials Videos: Seductive Sex Positions. Also another great DVD (for the females out there) is Female Masturbation : Every Woman's Orgasm is Unique. This makes me want to have sex everyday with my wife. (dvd)
(Wonderful, I love this movie&was able to enjoy right away.)
(Great songs, fun plot)
(Calamity Jane is whip-crackin' fun!) "Calamity Jane" is a wonderful film, made three years after the similarly plotted "Annie Get Your Gun." "Calamity Jane," however, is by far the superior film. Doris Day is perfect in the role of the tomboyish title character. She handles a physically demanding role with great charm and serves up a collection of great songs, including "The Deadwood Stage," "The Black Hills of Dakota," "Just Got in From the Windy City," and the Academy Award-winning Best Song, "Secret Love." Co-star Howard Keel is good, but it's Day's picture all the way. Day made lots of pictures for Warner Brothers during this period, but this is one of her very best. received but not watched, bought as gift, every expection it is in fine condition, looks never opened. I received my movie right away and able to finally ad this movie to my collection and it was in great shape. Thank you. A must have for anyone who likes musicals. Doris Day makes a great Calam, both before and after her makeover, and Howard Keel is his usual, slightly misogenistic but charming self. Lots of great songs, good dancing, and some very funny scenes. Calamity Jane is the story of a tomboy in the Dakota territory during the 19th century. She can ride and shoot better than any man, except Wild Bill Hickock. In fact, she's often confused for a man due to the fact that she's always wearing buckskins and a dirty army hat. Calamity is spunky and full of energy; the only problem is that she can't get Danny, the Lieutenant of her dreams, to realize that she's in love with him and return the feeling. Then one day, Katie Brown comes to town. She and Calamity hit it off right away until Katie and Danny begin to fall in love. Sparks and bullets fly when Calamity finds out, and Katie must choose between her friend and her love.
Calamity Jane is such a fun musical and Doris Day does an amazing job of playing the gun-slinging, whip-cracking, tall-telling tomboy. Most of the songs are upbeat with great lyrics. My little boy and I love "I can do without you", and we sing it to each other all of the time. My husband will even watch this musical with me because it's not too girlie. The only problem with it is that it does have some racism. The way they speak about Native Americans was a little shocking to me when I first saw this movie as an adult. I had to sit down and have a talk with my little boy and explain things to him and tell him that we never talk that way about Native Americans and explain to him the history of the "wild west". That being said, the main story surrounds Calamity Jane and Katie Brown and their love lives, and it is a lot of fun to see how things develop. As a plus, Howard Keel is great as Wild Bill, and he is very handsome in this movie. Overall, Calamity Jane is fun for the whole family, and I really enjoy it. The legendary sharpshooter mends her ways for the man she loves. Studio: Warner Home Video Release Date: 04/26/2005 Starring: Doris Day Philip Carey Run time: 101 minutes Rating: Nr Director: David Butler This 1953 musical is very much a vehicle for Doris Day, in the title role, as a wild cowgal who can outshoot and outsing any boy on the range. When an actress arrives in Deadwood and uses her feminine charms on Jane's secret love, Wild Bill Hickock (Howard Keel), Jane tries to mend her tomboy ways. Not exactly up to the feminist code of honor, this is still energetic and Day is very perky. Of course, one could almost detect a homosexual undercurrent with the cross-dressing Jane, but this was Hollywood in the 1950s, so we best not. This won an Oscar for Best Song--"Secret Love," by Sammy Fain and Paul Francis Webster.--Rochelle O'Gorman Rerations < Calamity Jane >

(Redefines Modern Comedy Movies)
(Funny)
(40 Year Old Virgin) If you want a comedy, a real comedy that deals with a lot of the questions many face in their daily lives, than this is a movie for you!
First of all, the entire cast is superb. Every character in this movie plays off of every other character so well, at times you may forget that you're watching a movie and feel like you're actively THERE with these guys! Second, the movie itself has a great message in the undertone; and that is that everyone is different and should live their life, with THEIR own goals and dreams.
This movie also has some of the best one-liners to come out in a long time, and led by the master of improv comedy in Steve Carell, with great supporting cast members; this movie will have you laughing out loud the entire time!
Classic movie, I watch it everyitme it's on tv even though I own the DVD becuase its just...that...funny!!! Put it on a pedestal, you won't regret it! To this day I'm still waiting for my movie. I tryed emailing them and nothing, I would not buy again "The 40-Year-Old Virgin" pretty much changed the comedy scene, in my mind. It's changing how these kinds of movies are made, and it also added so many new players to the game. Not only did it put Steve Carell on the map, it also introduced the world to Seth Rogan, popularized Paul Rudd, and showed that Judd Apatow isn't just a great TV writer, he's also a great film producer. He's the head of comedy's most successful band of actors and writers, and rarely stumbles. And this is the movie that started Apatow's winning streak that spawned movies such as Knocked Up, Superbad, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and Pineapple Express.
Aside from what it started, this is a great film. It's obviously a labor of love, and you don't need the expansive extras to see how much went into the making of it. Not only was there a great shooting script, but Apatow also encouraged all of the actors to improv, which produced great scenes such as the entire "You know how I know you're gay?" bit. The actors were all at the top of their games, delivering funny and--in Carell's case, anyway--nuanced performances. The story is as poignant as it is hilarious, and trust me, it's funny as hell. It's every bit as good as the best of Apatow's more recent work, which is saying quite a lot.
For vulgar, clever, emotional, well-written films, there's no better place to look but in Apatow's direction. And "The 40-Year-Old Virgin" delivers in every way.
9/10 The 40-Year-Old Virgin is one of those independent films that comes along, every so often, and becomes a hit. A few years ago it was My Big Fat Greek Wedding that was a surprise hit, and a few years before that it was The Blair Witch Project. This film is superior to both of those earlier films, and has more in common with another sleeper film that predated both of those films, 1998's Office Space, which was one of the first films to flop theatrically, yet become a big hit on the then-new DVD format. The 40-Year-Old Virgin shares a similar sensibility toward the dullness of the work environment (this time a Circuit City/Best Buy like electronics store vs. a computer programming company, but its satire of the workplace is dead on. The difference between The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Office Space, however, is that the bulk of the newer film focuses on the personal lives of its lead character and his co-workers David (Paul Rudd)- who's stalking his ex-girlfriend, Jay (Romany Malco)- a black, bald Lothario, and Cal (Seth Rogen)- an ugly, bearded wannabe novelist, who make it their mission to get him laid at any cost. Andy Stitzer (Steve Carell, of Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy and the NBC tv show The Office) is a collector of `action figures' from the 1970s and 1980s (such as The Six Million Dollar Man's boss, Oscar Goldman), avid Survivor watcher, along with an old black neighbor, has a framed Asia rock poster, a ton of video games, and has somehow never managed to get laid in his four decades, although he's come close. Any male who has pined for females that he never got to be with will be able to relate to Andy's dilemma- if not to the extent of Andy's angst, certainly the gist of it. His co-worker's advice ranges from the bad to the ridiculous, as each of them could easily be termed loser, as well. He agrees to go out with his pals, and ends up being puked on by a gorgeous, but drunken blond named Nicky (Leslie Mann), who nearly gets them both killed with her driving. He then hits on Beth (Elizabeth Banks), a sexpot at the local bookstore, and succeeds in getting her interested. That's when he meets a sexy and kind divorced grandmother named Trish (Catherine Keener), who runs an EBay store at the same mall where Andy's store is.... It's a chick flick for guys, in a sense, yet better for it. Watch this film at least once every year or two, and it'll never get old, for there always have been and always will be Andy Stitzers. That's a damned good thing!
Such a cute movie&very funny. A great story about (as another reviewer says) guys that care about each other. Beware for children that there is nudity, lots of 'dirty words' and adult situations. But it's all there to build the plot and characters. I love this movie and it's happy ending! Universal 40-Year-Old Virgin (Unrated) (HD-DVD) The hilarious, ourtageous and unforgettable comedy starringfunny man Steve Carell delivers more laughs in anall-new pecial edition. You've waited long enoughfor this over the top HD DVD featuring hours of never before seen bonus features including all new hilarious deleted scenes so outrageous you'll laugh 'til you cry. Andy Stitzer (Steve Carell) has gone 40 years without "doing it." Now his pals are making it their mission to help him score...fast! Can he survive their hilariously bad advice? Will he land in the arms of the way-too-experienced or the way-too-drunk? Or can he find true love where he least expects - from a gorgeous grandmother (Catherine Keener)? When it comes to sex, there's onlyone sure thing - "The 40-Year-Old Virgin". The outrageous comedy hit is now the DVD that makes the pleasure last forever! Cult comic actor Steve Carell--long adored for his supporting work onThe Daily Showand in movies likeBruce AlmightyandAnchorman--leaps into leading man status withThe 40 Year-Old Virgin. There's no point describing the plot; it's about how a 40 year-old virgin named Andy (Carell) finally finds true love and gets laid. Along the |
