This is a good collection of DVDs for couples. The two massage DVDs cover everything from sensual touch and erogenous zones to intimate genital massage techniques - very explicit, and if you really want to learn something these are techniques you won't find on a typical massage DVD. The Fitness DVD demonstrates fun routines you can do with your partner, along with information about which muscle groups you need to strengthen for better sex. We've had some five star nights in the bedroom watching these!
All three of these are quite tastefully done. The intro's seem somewhat dated as the actors set the mood by putting a cassette tape into an old tape deck but hey, no big deal. Photography is quite good with attention clearly paid to what is in the background and setting up shots accordingly. Not for prudes, there is shameless frontal nudity in the massage videos with plenty of touching and finger penetration in Ultimate Massage. For a little comic relief, listen for the doorbell in Ultimate Massage; must've been filmed at someone's house.

I found the exercise video a bit lame. I guess I expected more nudity and the exercises seem kind of hokey. My wife watched it with me though and said she thought they would be harder (the exercises, that is) than they look. Oh, and check out the dude with the giant rip in the back of his shorts.

5 stars for each of the massage videos.

All three of these DVDs are well done. The first massage DVD concentrates mostly on the body, and "Ultimate Sexual Massage" goes deeper into details about intimate areas that are usually left out of most massages. "Sexual Fitness" is an interesting take on how to incorporate your partner and have fun while still getting a good workout. This set makes a good gift to yourself or your loved one.

This series of instructional videos features couples, and is meant to help couples improve their sex lives. If you haven't watched one of the Loving Sex DVDs before, this will be an interesting experience. One segment features a woman teaching another woman strip tease and lap dance techniques, and both women definitely enjoy themselves. I think men will particularly enjoy that segment! The DVD is tastefully explicit and highly erotic without being offensive or downgrading. Definitely recommend!
My wife and I did not find this video erotic or seductive. The "ideas" they present are nothing more than thinly veiled soft core porn. We are not what you would consider adenturous people, and this video really didn't give us any great ideas or insight. We will not watch it again.

As the story starts we are treated to a realistic western and look back at the cover to be sure we have the correct DVD. Yep it is the correct one.

A romance novelist, Joan Wilder (Kathleen Turner of "Body Heat" 1981 fame) wants to fall in love with the type of hero she created in her novels. Fat chance she has hanging around her New York City apartment.

Perchance her sister Elaine (Mary Ellen Trainor), looking for the other body parts of Elaine's dismembered husband, is kidnapped and ransomed by ruthless people, (Danny DeVito and Zack Norman.)
This just happens to be in Columbia. It seems that there are other interested parties that are down right vicious.

Will Joan Wilder find the type of romance she writes about or just a snot?

Prepare for a great adventure.

The movie was filmed in Mexico. I have not been to Columbia but I have seen several of the places in Mexico. It does not diminish the film what so ever.

I saw this film several times previous to the Blu-ray packaging and I really can not say if the resolution or jut big screen TV makes a difference. However looking at the extra footage make me feel that they did a good job of restoration.

The Blu-ray edition has several extras.
Danny explains why he likes to use the word "maricon!"
The deleted scenes are really alternate scenes.

Enjoyed this movie years ago when it first came out. Still enjoy it as much today. Where are movies likes this one these days?
Maybe from the 80's, but still a fun movie to watch from start to finish. Lots of laughs, and action. I recommend it highly.
Romance novelist, Joan Wilder (Kathleen Turner), finds herself thrust into a situation similar to those she writes about when her sister is kidnapped and Wilder is forced to travel to Columbia to ransom her with a treasure map that she has in her possession. Along the way she meets adventurer Jack Colten (Michael Douglas), who convinces her that before handing over the map, she should first locate the treasure for herself.

I saw this film for the first time as a child and liked it very much then, so was curious to see if I would still enjoy it, more than 20 years later. Compared to more recent action films, "Romancing the Stone" seems to take longer to get to the exciting stuff, but once Michael Douglas shows up (about half an hour into the film), the fun starts and this film becomes everything as good, if not better, than the action-comedies that are made these days. That's not to say that "Romancing the Stone" is anything deep. This is a pure popcorn film and eminently forgettable, typical of the films made in the 1980's, but while you're watching it, it's a good way to fill in 100 minutes of your life.

Director Robert Zemeckis (Forrest Gump,Contact) had a hit with this 1984 comedy that first teamed Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner, and Danny DeVito. Turner steals the show from the guys, however, playing a pushy romance novelist who gets stuck among some dangerous figures in Colombia and has only a rumpled guide (Michael Douglas) as an ally. The chemistry between the stars is infectious (the trio went on to make a sequel,Jewel of the Nile, and then an interesting, dark comedy directed by DeVito,The War of the Roses). As stated in another review by Dean Winiarski, this is a very good transfer and a Region 1 DVD. I just got my third party copy and it plays just fine! Would someone tell me why there are dozens of garbage DVDs released in the USA every week, and I have to buy a classic Humphrey Bogart/Katherine Hepburn movie as a Japanese DVD import?! At least I got my Region 1 copy! (And since the Japanese are listening, and Hollywood isn't, please contact me 'cause I've got a whole list of movies that we want on regular old DVD!)
'The African Queen' is an acknowledged classic of the first order.

How does one review perfection in cinematography? How does one review superlative acting by the three main characters? I say three main actors because, of the 'extras', Robert Morley deserves mention for his excellent portrayal of the 'out of his depth' missionary.

Bogart and Hepburn have a film chemistry that film makers must have drooled over. They are magnificent together. When one considers that the two of them - confined, as they were, to a boat in the middle of nowhere - managed to produce a movie that grips the mind and keeps one on the edge of one's seat for the duration of the film, only 'boggles the mind'.

This film deserves every award it received along with the actors. It is, simply, a marvellous movie!
We really wanted a copy of African Queen and couldn't find one. This copy is colorized which I think reduces the originality of the film. However, if the choice is this or nothing, this works fine. There are no special features or interviews, just the film.
I saw absolutely nothing wrong with this version of the classic African Queen. I had been waiting for Hollywood to release this movie and had trepidations about buying a "foreign version". This turned out to be no problem, and I don't have to wait for Hollywood to get their head out of their ... well you know.
Because this was an import, it turned out to have Chinese subtitles, which made the video unwatchable because they were distracting and annoying. I had to return it to Amazon for refund.

I really liked this video, however there were scratches that effected the playability of the dvd.
I loved this movie. It's one of my favorites. It's incredibly funny and romantic. This is one of those movies you'll watch over and over, again. It's a great movie to watch when you need a little pick me up. There wasn't one thing I didn't like about it. Great acting, great story.
How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days is not only a movie women can enjoy, but men as well. It's a humurous love story with an ending you would not expect. It's not your typical girl meets boy, and they fall in love story.

Kate Hudson works for a style magazine, and Matthew McConaughey works for an advertising company.They both end up dating one another for work. Kate uses Matthew for her next big story, "How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days" and Matthew uses Kate to beat out two coworkers in a job by making a bet that he could make her fall in love with him. After everything they put eachother through for work, they end up falling in love.

How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days kept my attention throughout the whole movie. I've also found that whenever deciding what movie to watch guys dont seem to mind watching this one, because its humur and unpredictable ending.
The trouble with being a single guy at my age (32) is that typically, all your male friends are either married or living with someone. So if you want to go to the movies with your friends, you typically wind up watching what their wives want to see. This is how I was roped into seeing "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days". This film has one thing going for it (and only one thing): Kate Hudson is hilarious playing the psycho girlfriend (and I've had a couple). Unfortunately, that might be enough for a 5-minute SNL skit or a guest appearance on a show like "Friends", but it's not enough to carry a 2-hour movie. Everything else in the film comes from the sitcom "Just Shoot Me": Kate Hudson's character is a serious journalist "trapped" working at a shallow fashion magazine, and the characters played by Bebe Neuwirth&Robert Klein are carbon copies of Wendie Malick&George Segal respectively in the aforementioned TV show. The "plot"--so to speak--is that Hudson's character is going to pick a guy to clamp on to, then drive him away with all the stuff that women do when they feel more needy than desirable, after which she will write an article called "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days". Meanwhile an ad exec (Matthew McConaughey, who I met a couple of times when we were in college together) bets his co-workers he can get anyone to fall in love with him. They pick each other for their respective projects and the bad chick-flick comedy cliches ensue. Another big problem I have with the movie is that it has nothing to do with the real world. Since when are the Knicks in the NBA finals each year? That hasn't happened since Jeff Van Gundy left. Also, as a Texan, I have come to accept that my accent is used for all sorts of rural types (Ohio in "Heathers", Alaska in "Northern Exposure", Minnesota in "A Simple Plan"); and I realize that in the movies, everywhere outside of New York City proper is supposed to be the sticks. But surely even the most elitist Manhattanite must realize that people from Staten Island do *not* speak with an exaggerated Southern drawl. For a single heterosexual male, watching this movie is like waiting for your sister to finish trying on outfits at a department store when you were a kid. You just wanted her to hurry up so you could go home and play video games. After watching this movie, I pulled "Tetris" out of the mothballs (OK it's on a hard drive, but you get the point) and found it immensely more entertaining than this film.
I consider myself fairly picky about my romantic comedies, but this is one I happily own, even if I wouldn't consider it one of the best of all time. Still, it has the magic of Matthew and Kate (what a spark those two have!) playing wonderful roles that are almost reminiscent of those glamerous sex comedies of the sixties. They both steal (and therefore share) the spotlight of this wildly hilarious little romp. The story is a great and fun idea that is pulled off wonderfully by all involved. It's snappy, romantic, and ridiculous, but I like it.
Kate Hudson twinkles as the heroine ofHow to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, a magazine writer assigned to date a guy, make all the mistakes girls make that drive guys away (being clingy, talking in baby-talk, etc.), and record the process like a sociological experiment. However, the guy she picks--rangy Matthew McConaughey--is an advertising executive who's just bet that he can make a woman fall in love with him in ten days; if he succeeds, he'll win a huge account that will make his career. The set-up is completely absurd, but the collision of their efforts to woo and repel creates some pretty funny scenes.
