For years I've thought about this question and finally they've come up with a video that's going to give me all the answers, or so I hoped. The video opens with an introduction by Dr. Bernie Ziebergeld explaining that his video is not about what EVERY man wants, but that it gives you some ideas of what many men want. It's a place to start at least. From there it goes into a man-in-the-street interview asking men what it is they want when it comes to sex.
The answers are really not all that surprising, one of which is that men want their partners to actually be interested in them and in sex in general. Apparently they enjoy it when the woman takes the initiative. "Being creative is important because it makes men feel that you care enough to share in the work of sex." The video goes on to follow one couple, showing how the woman initiated sex with her partner by leaving a snapshot of herself in various stages of undress from the front door all the way to the bathroom shower where she waited for him. What follows is a shower scene where she washes him ... with slippery, soapy lather. (Note: Some soap can cause a burning sensation in the urethra) It's a very sexy scene. Matter of fact, I rewound the video and watched it again ;-) The couple then goes on to have sex while standing in the shower. Now I know this isn't always physically possible for some couples, but it was still sexy to see it work for them. Back to the man-in-the-street to find out more of what men want again followed by a normal looking couple acting out one of the suggestions given by the men being interviewed. In all, there are five scenes acted out - Surprise in the Shower, Driver her Crazy in Bed, Fun in the Van, In the Jacuzzi, and An Erotic Birthday Present. There was an interesting thing that happened in the Jacuzzi, as noted by Dr. Ziebergeld. The setup for this scene is that the man gets more pleasure out of pleasing his partner than in taking pleasure for himself. In that scene we see him pleasuring her orally by the side of the Jacuzzi, but the man never has an orgasm or full erection even though there is plenty of sexplay. Dr. Ziebergeld suggests the following for how men would like women to deal with this type of situation: "Respond by not asking anxious questions about whether she is turning you on or stimulating you correctly. Just go on with the show." I agree with this to a point. Making the situation stressful when it is happening is NOT a good idea. However, if it happens on a regular occasion, I think as a couple you should discuss what is happening. What does it all add up to? Overall, I enjoyed watching this video. It did give me some ideas for different things that I can do with my lover to enhance our relationship. It's important to be reminded every once in a while of what keeps the spark in a sexual relationship. If your partner is a bit shy and is not willing to tell you outright what he wants, Dr. Ziebergeld suggests that you tell him your likes and wants first. Your sharing will help him to do the same. That's good advice, but doing so is not always easy. Watching these videos is a step in the right direction.』

If I had watched it when it first came out, I would have dissed it as "another unfunny Woody Allen movie." Watching it today, I find Woody Allen's take on the perils of fame subtly hilarious.
What could be worse than an artistic life where audiences laugh forcibly and long at one's most mundane observations? Where fans don't want to change one bit?
Where every stranger (most filmed here as grotesques, which is how they must look to a sensitive creative type who becomes famous) announces like a robot either, "I'm your biggest fan!" "Can you sign an autograph?" or "We're having a cancer benefit next month, can you come?"
I won't give away other moments of wryly observed comedy. Suffice to say, if you've never seen "Stardust Memories," you may find now the ideal time to discover its merits -- much better than rushing to see it in 1980, when someone like me would have shook my head (then) and said, much like the so-called fans shown here, " ' Bananas' and 'Take the Money and Run' were funnier!"』
(Can't miss) 『This and "Manhattan" are Woody's two great masterpieces, I think. It's quirky, but it hasn't dated at all because it's classic. You won't laugh a lot, but you may smirk, or smile. I hadn't seen this since it came out years ago. It was a great re-visit. Typical Woody jazz soundtrack lends atmosphere.』
(Declaration of cinematic independence) 『There are so many levels to Allen's "Stardust Memories" that it seems a slight to his genius as well as an impoverishment of the viewing experience to reduce the film to only one of them. At one level is the "existential" message: the worries about mortality and meaning that ooze through Allen's films, even the early slapstick ones. There's the "Eurofilm" message, in which Allen pays homage to the thoughtful and experimental films of Bergman and Fellini (rumor has it that Allen thought about calling the film "4" on the grounds that it wasn't half as good as Fellini's "8 1/2"). But there's also a hint of parody here as well, just the slightest suggestion that perhaps avant garde film makers (and this includes Allen) take themselves a bit too seriously. There's the exploration of human relationships with three different women--Dorrie (Charlotte Rampling), Daisy (Jessica Harper), and Isobel (Marie-Christine Barrault)--and the suggestion that in love, we're often more attracted to the wounded and broken (Dorrie and Daisy) than the healthy and life-affirming (Isobel). There's the comedic level, especially in the scenes with the aliens, the sister, and he driver.
But for my money, the overarching theme is one of liberation--Allen's liberation as a film maker. Although he's said that the film isn't autobiographical, and that he shouldn't be confused with the lead character Sandy Bates, these protestations are, of course, nonsense. Allen's film is in part a nose-thumbing at those fans and critics who demand that he continue making "funny" films--that is, all those viewers who think that they have proprietary rights in him and resist any challenge to those rights. The film is also a rebellion against the studio money men (in this case, chillingly represented by a haughty, supercilious, slightly bored Laraine Newman) for whom all that counts is the bottom line and who also claim proprietary rights. In short, the film is Woody's declaration of cinematic independence from fans' expectations and film executives' pocket books--but done with undertones of self-deprecation and bittersweetness rather than bravado, as witnessed by a closing scene of Allen staring into an empty theater's blank screen and a tender but bittersweet one of him remembering a Sunday morning with Dorrie.
And speaking of Dorrie: I don't think there's any doubt that the collaboration between Rampling and Allen in "Stardust" is sheer cinematic history. The collage of Dorrie speaking to the camera from the insane asylum, which Allen says was inspired by cubist art, is the film's most memorable scene.
In short, a brilliant film. No wonder Allen considers it one of his best.』
(stunning) 『Stardust Memories is a brilliant tribute to Fellini and Bergman that still manages to give us some of that classic Woody Allen humor every so often to lighten things up just a bit. The plot moves along at a good pace and I enjoyed the flashbacks that are interjected so masterfully into the film. The convincing acting held my attention all the way and the black and white footage is very tastefully done.
The action begins when overstressed movie director Sandy Bates (Woody Allen) is pushed into attending a two day film festival in his honor. At the festival they show his "funny films;" and Bates is lauded for that by his adoring--and endlessly pestering--fans who want many more comedies from Bates. Trouble is, however, that Sandy Bates no longer wants to make funny movies. Instead, he now prefers to make artistic, meaningful movies that reflect the human condition--or perhaps Sandy may even want to quit the film industry altogether and go into some type of profession in which he can help other people.
There are not one, not two, but three women in Sandy's life. His relationship with his former lover Dorrie (Charlotte Rampling) is portrayed very well in flashbacks; and his current romance with Isobel (Marie-Christine Barrault) is a bit shaky at times but it's still ongoing. Sandy also flirts with another woman he meets at the film festival; he likes Daisy's (Jessica Harper) artistic and sensitive qualities.
Look for excellent performance by Tony Roberts who plays himself; and Helen Hanft plays Vivian Orkin, the "MC" of the film festival.
Overall, if you've seen Fellini's 8 1/2, you're going to appreciate this film more than if you haven't. At the same time, however, other people will still get a lot out of this even if they haven't seen 8 1/2. I highly recommend this film for Woody Allen fans and people who enjoy artistic cinema with very high quality control. 』 『"Doesn't he know he's got the greatest gift anyone can have, the gift of laughter?" (A short but just as sweet season of Carrie and friends) 『The fifth season of the vastly entertaining "Sex and the City" features eight funny, sexy, and occasionally poignant episodes of New York chic-ness. In other words, if you've seen the previous seasons, there's no reason not to keep plowing ahead to the series' big close in season six (well, the big close until the movie that eventually followed). And contrary to some of the comments here on Amazon, season five is indeed priced lower than the other seasons due to its shorter length. To be fair, maybe the price reduction is a recent development. In any event, you can use the money you save to help spring for a good Chardonnay to sip while watching the girls confront dating troubles, baby issues (Miranda's little Brady sure is a cutie, endless crier or not), and engage in a memorable debate about whether Nathan Lane's lounge act piano player is gay or not. All frothy and all fun. After all, you can't just watch Henry VIII execute people on "The Tudors" all the time, as fun as fun as that can be, too.』

(the darkest and therefore misunderstood season) 『i completely 100% love the fifth season of sex and the city. true it is extremely short and overpriced but the 8 episodes are pure gold. A lot of the reviewers bemoaned the fact that this season suffers from a lack of laughs and is more serious and the characters feel unlike themselves. I tell those reviewers to take a closer look at the end of season 4, the journeys and behaviours of the four leads is completely truthful and relatably to real life after where we left them last. They are all burnt out, they have all had there hearts broken yet again and now they have realised that they are no longer as young as they once were and therefore feel terrified by the fact that they are still alone. I felt most for Carrie in this season, true she acts selfish towards some of friends at times in this season but she is so afraid of what will happen next after all that has happened - the breakup with Aiden and the departure of Big, that she reverts completely into herself and attempts to keep her friends static around her, as is witnessed in 'Luck be an old lady'. The other characters too experiences emotions that are unlike anything that has come before them. As Charlotte points out ot Miranda in the previous season just before Brady's birth that 'she needs to start letting people in' Miranda feels the full force of that this season when she attempts to balance both her social life with her family life and like Carrie fears what will come next. Charlotte is forced to confront the fact that her Mister Perfect fantasy of a husband was not a fantasy but turned into a nightmare, and that she must finally look elsewhere for the love and intimacy she desires so much. Samantha feels she loses a part of her identity upon opening herself to Richard and being burnt because of it, but it is only when we fall down do we stand up and learn how to be stronger as she learns in the final episode. This season represent a bridge between the fun wild days of the first four season and the more adult and mature world of the sixth season and movie. It also shows that to move on we must standup by ourselves and move forward into whatever murky future lies ahead because only through that do we grow as human beings.』 『It's summertime but that doesn't mean the women of Sex and the City are livin' easy. Now, as she works through this terrifying diagnosis, her illiterate BF Carrie (whom I PRAY is named after the S. King novel's eponymous freak) raves on about her love life. Go aheaad, the Samantha character says, Keep making [...] comments. _It helps_. I felt sad for her that one time. The Carrie character, played by the then more-wart-than-woman SJP is supposed to be dating a worldy intellectual and artist. This is "Ick," however to the mentally challenged Carrie, whose favourite grammatical error is "I cannot help but think..." which she is forever typing in one of her columns on a laptop that is never near a book, or book shelf, because why would she need to read a book? The Miranda character is [...], the other one too boring to discuss. The movie should have been about the funeral, not a wedding. Samantha should have killed herself for living so poorly that she deserves friends like this, who laugh about her sexcapades while cancer explodes in her body. She should have screamed Let This Expiate! and stabbed herself. I punched my TV twice.』

Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) continues her romance with Russian artist (Mikhail Baryshnikov), a flippantly arrogant man who's been around the block, but able to supply Carrie's needed desire for magic. Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) has settled down with Steve (David Eigenberg), but there is more that will change with her, including her address. Charlotte (Kristin Davis) continues to make baby plans now that the husband slot is filled quite nicely (Evan Handler). Samantha (Kim Cattrall) brings a good sense of drama to the show with a breast-cancer scare.
Going down the final stretch--and Samantha's cancer--gives the series a more serious tone, but there's always a jab to tickle the funny bone: Miranda's awkwardness with happiness, Charlotte's latest passion, Carrie typing someplace new, and Samantha getting into Paris Hilton territory. Like any series winding down, there is a wedding, a baby, old faces popping up, and some star-ladened new ones (like creative consultant Julia Sweeney as a nun). In the final two-part episode, "An American in Paris," Carrie faces her romantic destiny, but also solidifies herself as a fashion icon, an Audrey Hepburn for 21st-century television. In the penultimate episode, she asks her friends an emotional question: "What if I never met you?" Certainly fans can ask of themselves the same question and reminisce how much better TV became since they first tuned in these four women of the City.

As we find out in the near-hourlong 2004 U.S. Comedy Arts Festival Seminar (with executive producer Michael Patrick King, Sarah Jessica Parker, and the writing team), the alternate endings seen here were false leads to throw off the press. King's expert touches on the commentary are fun to listen to, if a lovefest. 'Tower' is not only an obvious masculine symbol but is conceptually aligned with 'the' defining human process taking place in it, ie thought, while also being representative of the human achievement produced by that process.
So much of what is exposed in this book serves to delineate the unique qualities and status of women. To simply exist is all the justification a woman needs. This is very special and unpins why validation is so important. Men are compelled to 'do' because they have no other acceptable, bearing in mind who does the accepting, option. There can be no mistake or responsibility in existing while it is implicit in doing.』
(Great title, shame about the stereotypes) 『This is a book that trades heavily on the fact that some people, of both sexes, feel more comfortable when their prejudices and stereotypical thinking are externally validated by someone with a PhD. The problem with Gray's book is that he takes these statistical averages and tries to make them the basis for normative behaviour and self-help advice. In other words, rather than challenging the many gender-based rules and conventions that inhibit open and honest communication between the sexes, he tries a different approach, which is to tell people that, if they only made the effort to comprehend the roots of their partner's stereotypical behaviour,adjust to it and accept it, they could achieve a better mutual understanding. This may work for some people in some specific situations, but it misses the bigger picture. Most women don't want men who watch football on TV while they do all the housework; living with men like this is extremely tiring. Likewise, most men don't want women who spend their days in health and beauty salons while they go out to work in stressful, degrading jobs; women like this are extremely debilitating.
There is a desire on both sides to challenge and break down these gender stereotypes (and, inevitably, some who will resist this because their current domestic arrangements are just too comfortable). Those who desire real social change and a loosening up of gender boundaries will not be helped by Gray's book.』
