(Disappointed)

(Every woman should learn this!)

(not even one star)

(Semi-insturctional)

(Loving Sex-Erotic Strip Dance- Capture His Passion)
I was very disappointed. I was going to show my girlfriend, but it had porn after the lesson. In fact, there was more porn than there was instruction.
Our sex life is good, but after watching this DVD it definitely got better. The slow sensual dance moves are presented in a way that a woman of any age can learn and begin feeling like a sexy goddess right away. The DVD goes back and forth between a teacher and her class (with women of all ages and sizes) and a woman watching the class on TV and practicing the moves. When her man comes home, she gives him a full-on lap dance (very sexy) and it leads to some steamy lovemaking. It did the same for us!
crap! I was extremely disapointed. The girl isn't very easy to pay attention too. She got on my nerves. Then it turns into a porn at the end. I wasn't expecting that! I trashed it.
This video does give you some sound advice in how to do an erotic strip dance. It also provides you with some basic moves. However at the end it does have the main model perform for someone. This kinda made it seem more like porn at the end. I think it would have been better if they would have just let the model show you the dance and not involve all the rest. I would not recommend this video if you want to learn how to strip but it is okay as an erotic video to watch with your boyfriend.
All I can say is that this item is very bad. I mean it's trash.
I'm sorry to say it but it is 0 star.

(A bit disappointed)

(Liked the music in the series better..)

(Soundtrack question)

(Got what I wanted)

(Here's what they missed...)
I was really disappointed with this CD (HBO show)- I was wanting to listen (and remember the great times with friends, weekly HBO, with a bottle of wine . or chosmo's) and the theme show song was well - - - not there! All in all the CD is "good" but ~ die hard "watchers" want the "real thing!" Perhaps a "remake!?"The movie CD (though) is great, love the first song! I would recomment this (and have bought several for friends!) to be enjoyed!
I really liked the Heart of The Matter song performed by Indie arie in the movie but this soundtrack dont have any of the songs i heard throughout the series...And to the person who posted the general list: THANK YOU!!! ive been trying to find out who sang that song at the end of the episode "the domino effect" and you had that on your list..so thanks..they are missing songs like Moon river which really did have a moving but sad theme to it when it was played in the episode "i heart ny" and the final song in the final episode, etc,etc...im glad i listened to samples before buying this cd...i would have been really disappointed...the show had some wonderful music throughout the series and this soundtrack just doesnt do it justice.
Over the years I have had many people email me regarding the music from Season 2's finale episode called "Ex' And The City". I hope this post helps some of you. I had 4 songs from my first cd, "La Esperanza" featured ("El Loco!", "Cara Mia", "Love&Lust")... the last one being a song called "La Punta" which was the final song in that episode. I hope this helps those of you who have been searching for the music and thanks to all of you for the musical support!
Unlike the other reviews, I didn't buy this Cd for the theme song to sex in the city, so really didn't care that it wasn't the real one. I bought this Cd for the Trisha Yearwood song, For Only You. She never recorded it on any of her albums and this was the only Cd I could find it on. Its the most beautiful song Ive ever heard and I am walking to it for my wedding in August of this year. The rest of the songs are upbeat and puts you in a funky mood.....For all those who are getting married, Please listen to For Only You, you will fall in love with it too.
I'm an avid SATC fan and have NEVER heard any of of these songs in any of the episodes. Perhaps they just wanted to theme it based on what the girls go through, especially Carrie and Big? Perhaps the Missy Elliot song was in homage to Samantha.

Either way my fellow fans, without further ado-- here's some songs you can get right on iTunes or at any music store. All stuff I'd normally never listen to but I frenzied to grab it on iTunes because I love the show so much. THE REAL SOUNDTRACK!

1. "Hot Stuff"- Donna Summer; when the ladies go to Staten Island in "Where There's Smoke There's Fire"
2. "Bad Girls"- Donna Summer; same episode and plays right after it
3. "Hot Child In The City"- Nick Gilder; theme song of the episode of the same name
4. "Got To Be Real"- Cheryl Lynn; recurs throughout "The Real Me"
5. "She Bangs"- Ricky Martin; on Miranda's walkman at the gym in the same episode
6. "Shazam!"- Spiderbait; Carrie strutting down the runway as the not-real her. (This single is hard to find though!)
7. "Shining Star"- Earth Wind&Fire; en route to the Fleet Week party in "Anchors Aweigh"
8. "Feelin Alright"- Joe Cocker; the Fleet Week party in the same episode
9. "Try A Little Tenderness"- Otis Redding; end of the party and credits.
10. "Good To Go"- Organic Audio; the club music at Bed in "The Post-It Always Sticks Twice"
11. "Smoke On The Water"- Deep Purple; what plays at the not-so-glamorous bar in the same ep
12. "In The Waiting Line"- Zero 7; ending of "The Domino Effect"
13. "Breathe"- Michelle Branch; ending of "The Catch"
14. "La Belle Et Le Bad Boy"- MC Solaar; the scenes of Carrie and Miranda running in "An American Girl In Paris Part Deux"

There's a ton more I'm missing but this gives you a general idea. I'll update this if I can!

The musical soundtrack forSex and the Cityis every bit as romantic and glitzy as you might expect from the racy HBO TV series. Soulful grooves and slinky, seductive pop tunes run the gamut from the 1970s disco of Moloko's "The Time Is Now," on which falsetto vocals and lush strings underline the track, to the old-time R&B feel of Joan Osborne's "Righteous Love." Nearly everyone on board is in a sentimental mood. Country star Trisha Yearwood delivers the piano torch ballad "For Only You," while Aimee Mann contributes "Calling It Quits," a literate shuffle in the Elvis Costello vein. The Dust Brothers revive the 1976 Andrea True Connection hit "More More More." An expert on sex moves and never one to miss a chance to update his sound, Tom Jones receives the "Peppermint Jam Mix" for "Sexbomb" (featuring Mousse T), a tune as subtle as its title suggests. TheSex and the Cityscore goes down perfect with a bottle of fine wine and candlelight--and a little backup Barry White, just in case.--Rob O'Connor

(Better Sex - satusfying her)
Although the DVD had a bit of lecture and the photography was not what men would call terribly erotic, we watched it together, and were able to laugh and fast foreward thru most of the talking. My wife enjoyed the style of the photography and the scenes. Also after watching it together, she was much more open about what pleased her, and that, although seeming an indirect result, has helped our sex life. Based on those results alone we highly recommend it. Also it led us to the candida roylae videos available in adult stores, she enjoyed these a lot too.(and they are not bad from a guys viewpoint either.)

(The opposite of sex.)

(Young Woman Wreaks Havoc)

(Strange but Interesting)

(The Opposite Of Lousy)

(Why does it always have to be about the sex, Why not Shampoo, I want a good Shampoo!)
Christina Ricci is wonderful in this early movie. Some reviewers have criticized the performance of Lisa Kudrow, but I thought she added greatly to the story line.
'The Opposite of Sex' is an interesting off-beat 1998 film that looks at real-life scenarios involving imperfect people that turn dramatic. The narrator of this story, Dede played by Christina Ricci, has an axe to grind, presumably due to her unpleasant childhood. As the movie opens, we see Dede desecrate her step-father's casket at his funeral while smoking a cigarette. She leaves the funeral early, and we see her jump into a convertable driven by Randy 'One Ball' Cates, an outspoken born-again Christian born with one testicle with whom she is romantically involved.

Upset with her family situation, she seeks out her much older gay half brother, played by Martin Donovan, a teacher named Bill who inhereted a large some of money from his deceased boyfriend, Tom, who died of AIDS. Tom's sister Lucia (pronounced "Lew-shuh"), played by Lisa Kudrow, who works as a teacher at the same high school as Bill and introduced Tom to Bill, is now a constant presence in Bill's life. When Dede arrives at Bills house, Bill's boyfriend Matt, played by Ivan Sergei, opens the door for her. Within a few weeks of living there, Dede seduces Matt and then tells him that she is pregnant with his baby. Matt concludes he is bisexual and becomes supportive of Dede, breaking up with Bill, who rightfully feels very mistreated.

Lucia and Bill are the moral compasses in this story. They are the reliable ones with the rightful claim to Tom's money who make sure everything turns out alright in the end. However, everything doesn't turn alright in the end for everyone. The greedy and cavalier personalities of Dede, Matt, and Randy act as a sort of 'axis of evil' when Matt and Randy get sucked into Dede's manipulative games. While Dede, pregnant and emotionally unstable, is vulnerable on one hand, her actions on the other hand ruin the lives of to whom she should be kind.

Dede has no conscience. Dede's character is slightly extreme in that nobody could really be this mean, but this film is a caricature of how cavalier and unconcerned people in real-life can become recklessly extravagant and screw up the situation for many people due to their uncensored greed and egotism.

This is a touching story because the scenario begins so seemingly normal. Then a vulnerable character, Dede, unwinds a delicately strung situation into an unraveled mess for everyone. Yet in the end, things start to work themselves out. For example, the whole dramatic scenario created by Dede helps Sherriff Carl Tippett, played by Lyle Lovett, to seek the courtship of Lucia by becoming involved with the legal scenario that Dede creates. With Matt's help, Dede illegally reposesses Tom's money and Tom's ashes, both of which rightfully belong to Bill and Lucia, allowing law enforcement to get involved. Bill and Lucia turn out to be the winners in the end because they can have the comfort of a clear conscience, but it is disappointing and discomforting when Dede gets off nearly scot-free.

Delightfully different coming of age movie. You may have thought your teenager had an odd slant on life, but this young lady takes the cake, among other things. Funny and sad.
The Opposite of Sex, (a Christina Ricci showcase), pulls off an almost impossible trick - it's a gleefully irreverent piece of political incorrectness that is never mean-spirited - indeed, as much as it would pain Dede, (the Ricci character), to admit it, the movie has heart. This is a solid film that holds up very nicely under repeated viewings.

Much has been made of Dede's narration, (more of an anti-narration), and the way it lampoons film conventions, traditional plot points, and viewer expectations. She's saucy, fun, and outrageous - the kind of smart mouth teenager who's not nearly as tough and savvy as she wants you to believe. But the real hero of this picture is writer, and novice director, Don Roos. With a lead as flamboyant as Dede it must surely have been tempting to go for the broad laugh, instead, Roos took the high road.

Listen carefully to the dialogue in this film, especially anytime Lucia, Lisa Kudrow, is speaking. Kudrow gives the performance of a lifetime - perfect - but with scripting that smart and well turned it's hard to go wrong. In Dede you have cynicism that wants to be cool, in Lucia you have genuine misery born of a feeling that everyone but you was invited to a party.

This film looks at the meaning of being gay from every imaginable angle. At one end are Dede's stereotypes of why real estate agents prefer selling the homes of gay men; at the other is the memorable scene between Bill, (Dede's half brother), and the preposterous Johnny, (Jason Block). Bill, normally thoughtful and quiet, has found an aggressive way to command Johnny's attention, (Johnny is defaming and extorting him). Bill's short, passionate speech detailing what he has had to endure as a gay man in order to make way for a next generation of ungrateful gay men like Johnny is hilarious, sad, and powerful; quite an accomplishment.

Comedy is hard, dark comedy is harder still. But delivering a dark comedy with truth and bite, that leaves you liking humanity more - not less - that's the opposite of common, that is truly exceptional.

WHat I like about this movie is its corkiness and Its able to take things to another level of an in your face black comedy and its unbashful way it stereotypes its characters. The movie after a while just drags and gladly waiting for it to end but my rating is solely on one scene that I hold close, It's when Lucia( Lisa Kudrow) and her deceased brothers' lover ( Martin Donovan) have a conversation about sex and her brothers passing of AIDS. That dialogue was so original and a light way of approaching the AIDS topic not done in any other film with a PUnch, of course.
Christina Ricci had a great year in 1998. The young actress continued to cast off her youthful image from theAddams Familymovies and made a big splash on the independent movie scene, especially in this scathingly witty comedy in which Ricci has the central role. Here she plays Dedee, a buxom, sexually precocious teenager who's pregnant, cynical, and looking for a volunteer father for her unborn child. This takes her to the home of her gay half-brother (Martin Donovan) whose current lover (Ivan Sergei) becomes Dedee's latest target for seduction. That's just the start of the mischief that Dedee so masterfully orchestrates, and Lisa Kudrow (from TV'sFriends) is also on hand to deliver some of the movie's most quotable dialogue while fending off the affection of a local policeman played by Lyle Lovett. If all this sounds rather sordid, rest assured that the movie's got a warm heart (well, sort of) beating beneath all of its sharp-edged sarcasm. Writer-director Don Roos (Single White Female) injects most of the movie's appeal and humor through Dedee's voice-over narration, which constantly reminds us that even the most familiar movie clichés can be cleverly overturned. As a result,The Opposite of Sexis the opposite of boring.--Jeff Shannon

(Worth looking at.)
Tasteful, explicit and informative enough. But would have preferred more positions with out the props and equipment being used. Seemed a bit contrived.
Written by Vatsyana in approx. 350 AD, the Kama Sutra (Priciple's of Love), connects all aspects of sexual life. These ancient and timeless teachings of the East are revealed in Sinclair's unique approach. Expert advice from noted Indian Sexologist and Kama Sutra authority, Prof. Prakash Kothari, MD, PhD, leads the exploration of this ancient wisdom. (A Great John Wayne Performance in a Delightful Film)

(What film making is about...)

(The Quiet Man)
"The Quiet Man" is a must for any John Wayne collection. One more piece of proof that "The Duke" was one of the most versatile actors to ever grace the stage. This DVD is a great value, the interviews are priceless, this history behind the making of this cinema classic value added. You will not go wrong by adding this to your collection.
I have always loved this show. John Wayne is one of my favorite actors. These kind of movies are hard to find but, with Amazon it was no problem. Thanks
This film is a classic for both John Wayne and John Ford. Perhaps it because the film echoes a great dream of the Irish - to return prosperous to the Old country of Ireland where one can live a simple life, fall in love with the most beautiful girl in the county and live out one's years in an idyllic farm. Wayne is the American boxer who returns to encounter a spunky Irish girl (Maureen O'Hara) and her cantankerous brother (Victor MacGlaglen). The film won numerous Oscars for performance, direction, cinematography and more. This was a very personal project for John ford who was from Ireland.

I found this movie to be artistic and well presented. Mr. Ford did take some libert-ies with the landscape of Ireland, but a great film not the less.
This movie has always been a favorite of my husband and myself. We were really pleased with the quality and all of the special features!!! Especially the features!!! The scenery was FABULOUS and the information about the cast was very surprising!!! We enjoyed it so much that we bought another copy for our son and his fiance to take with them when they move to Scotland.
Blarney and bliss, mixed in equal proportions. John Wayne plays an American boxer who returns to the Emerald Isle, his native land. What he finds there is a fiery prospective spouse (Maureen O'Hara) and a country greener than any Ireland seen before or since--it's no surpriseThe Quiet Manwon an Oscar for cinematography. It also won an Oscar for John Ford's direction, his fourth such award. The film was a deeply personal project for Ford (whose birth name was Sean Aloysius O'Fearna), and he lavished all of his affection for the Irish landscape and Irish people on this film. He also stages perhaps the greatest donnybrook in the history of movies, an epic fistfight between Wayne and the truculent Victor McLaglen--that's Ford's brother, Francis, as the elderly man on his deathbed who miraculously revives when he hears word of the dustup. Barry Fitzgerald, the original Irish elf, gets the movie's biggest laugh when he walks into the newlyweds' bedroom the morning after their wedding, and spots a broken bed. The look on his face says everything. The Quiet Manisn't the real Ireland, but as a delicious never-never land of Ford's imagination, it will do very nicely.--Robert Horton

(Oh my...)

(amazing acting; emotional and sexy movie)

(A great movie to have)

(Hmm)

(Not enough lust and too much caution)
This movie was almost too painful emotionally and physically to watch! A young Japanese girl subjects herself to torture of the body and soul in an attempt to help assassinate an evil man. She's young and in a dangerous game, but her passionate, willful spirit is driven to accomplish her goal. Will her heart betray her in the end. Powerful movie!

Chrissy K. McVay - Author

I wasn't sure what to expect, I've heard about the controversy of this movie, I don't even know if it ever hit the Big Screen. Anyway, I really enjoyed it. It's different from all other movies I've seen (including other Ang Lee movies).

Ang Lee is incredibly skilled at creating sexy/passionate scenes that are full of emotion, but never dirty or tawdry. It applied in this movie as well, even in the one violent sex scene. However, it does contain explicit sex scenes, so it's rated R or above.

The acting was superb, especially by Wong (the female lead). You could see how she was falling in love despite her commitment to the cause she supported. If you have not seen this movie, I highly recommend it.

Last Novermber I drove more than 90 miles to see this movie in theater. It is a well-made movie.
The story and film itself was beautiful. Be aware of some very acrobatic sex scenese that are almost difficult to watch and you'll be fine.
I expected much more out of this film given Ang Lee and an all-star Asian cast led by Tony Leung, but sad to say this film falls short. The story is compelling enough, set during WWII, with plenty of tensions. However, it feels more like a cautionary tale than it does a probing look into the complex set of relationships that underscore this revolutionary group of theatrical students.

It starts out with a group students trying to defy the system only for its protaganist, Wong Chia Chi (played by the lovely Tang Wei), to fall in love with a Japanese collaborator she was supposedly trying to seduce into an ill-fated move. Mr. Yee soon gets the upper hand in the relationship, and Ms. Wong is left pretty much powerless.

It is beautifully filmed, as one would expect from Ang Lee, but the characters never seem to move beyond cardboard creations, and the movie plods to its obvious conclusion, with a few S&M scenes along the way to spice things up.

Lee still hasn't matched his early efforts on film, such as Eat, Drink, Man, Woman, despite the increasingly more serious topics he explores.

Lust, Caution, Ang Lee's follow up toBrokeback Mountain, for which he won the Academy Award® for Best Director, continues his exploration of people with a passion for each other trapped in a world where their passion could be life-threatening, but in a very different context this time. Set in China during the Japanese occupation of early World War II, the underlying plot concerns the story of young Wong Chia Chi (Tang Wei), an actress and member of a small group of student resistors planning to infiltrate the home of Mr. Yee (Tony Leung), a high-ranking collaborationist government official, in order to kill him for his role in the torture and executions of Chinese resistance fighters. Chi ingratiates herself with Yee's wife, the sophisticated and cultured Mrs. Yee (Joan Chen) under the guise of being the wife of a wealthy but unseen tycoon. Flashbacks tell the tale of how Chi came to be involved with the resistors: her acting ability is her most valuable asset, and her assignment is to act the role of Mr. Yee's lover, right down to the sex. The story of their love and the painful intimacy it involves for both of them is told through their sexual relationship, which starts out violently, drifts into S&M, and shifts with their feelings, moving from pain and fear to some sort of desperate connection. This is lust with a capital L; the film's sex scenes have become famous for their frankness and acrobatic portrayals (they took 12 days to film), but amazingly enough, it's never prurient. The nature of their sexual relationship, and not the sex itself, is the point. Chi falls in love with the man she's supposed to kill, but there is no stopping the mission and she knows it. The danger of it all collapsing for them both is ever present, and that's the Caution. The cinematography and direction inLust, Cautionis masterful, and every scene is beautiful. The film does drift into a languid pace, and at times one wonders why Lee would feel the need to draw it out at the expense of delaying the crucial climactic scenes. Still, it's a wonderful piece of storytelling that should only help solidify Ang Lee's place in cinematic history as a master of films that express the difficulty of being essentially human in an inhumane world.--Daniel Vancini
