i thought you got three helicopters and one controller (three different channels) it turns out you get three controllers also. now both my friends an I can fly. Don't use outside as the controllers have trouble (infra red requires walls to bounce the signal off of).

I also bought this as an impulse buy at CostCo and wish I had not. It does not say on the box that it takes HOURS to assemble. There is one design in the instructions; this design works reasonably well... my kids spent hours playing with it on first set up. However, when we went to download the "more exciting Marble Mania Mega Construction PlanS" (pleural) there was only one design and it has a few errors. It does not function well at all. What a big disappointment after spending HOURS assembling it again!
Bought this for my son who loves to build....it took my husband and I two and a half hours to put it together according to the directions....I can't imagine my kids (5 and 7) pulling it apart and trying to make something that works....

As shown, it definitely is cool, but unless they are geniuses they are never gonna be able to put it together another way until they are about ten or twelve...

I am an engineer and it took me ~ 2 hrs to assemble and 1/2 hr to troubleshoot the elevator (small piece #25 not installed correctly). My 7 yr old lost interest about 1/2 hr in (after the elevator) during assembly but has been playing for hours now that it's working. Since it was time consuming and a bit difficult to construct, he probably won't try other configurations without my help.

I would have liked to see more build examples and directions with varying difficulty levels for the not so creative types...
My son likes to build things, so I thought this would be good for him because he'd get to play with something after he built it. He's a super bright 7 1/2 yr old, and the box does say for ages 8 and up. However, had we waited until his next birthday to give this to him, His dad and I would have still had to put it together. It took us four hours to get it put together right. Now, even though it does work like it is supposed and is pretty neat, watching marbles go down a few plastic tubes and then slowly back up another plastic tube gets boring pretty fast. And only two of the several gears that come with it actually need to turn, the rest are just for looks. I wanted something my son could put together, play with, take down, and rebuild. We'll try again with a different kind of marble run. It would have been more helpful if the details mentioned that this is a "put together once toy". I'd recommed it for ages 11 or 12 and up.
My 10 year old grandson and I spent two long sessions putting this together, and it was worth it. But it does require patience to follow the instructions. After that, you will have the skills to make your own designs.
Great for kids who are patient and detail-oriented, and who have an adult with them who is the same.

This is great. It's challenging, but worth the effort to learn how to solve these puzzles. I'm having great fun with this book of puzzles.
After reading some of the reviews, I decided to purchase this book. Like most people, I am addicted to these pixel puzzles but this book was just way to easy. Almost like a waste of time if you are very experienced. For a beginner, all the puzzles are introductory. For advanced people, I would suggest Paint-doku (Puzzles). This is by far the best and most difficult book that I have tried.
I love Nintendo's Picross and wanted some paper versions of the grid puzzles for airplanes and for more puzzle variety. I purchased this book along with paint by sudoku, and have to say I prefer the other book. This one isn't bad though, the puzzles are arranged one on a page with cute titles that hint at the final picture, and are rated easy to hard in ascending order. I haven't gotten past moderate level puzzles yet but so far I'm unimpressed with the pictures. The easy puzzles are relaxing and fun to do, but I've had to look up the answers several times just to find out what thing it is that I just drew and make sure I did it correctly.
I got this because I fell in love with Paint by Number puzzles in World of Puzzles magazine. This just isn't the same. The puzzles are too large, making it such a chore to fill in all the squares. It's a fun game, though, and at least the puzzles are interesting.
Imagine finishing a Sudoku puzzle and getting a picture of a cat, fireworks, or even a movie star, instead of a box of numbers. That's what happens when you finish an O'Ekaki puzzle! Once you start filling in those squares, you won't be able to stop. It's the puzzle game millions of fans aroudn the world can't get enough of.

Mr Greene, if you read your reviews, please publish more of these books. I only have two puzzles left in your second edition and I'm starting to get the shakes! It's so hard to find puzzles that are a challenge. I adore these.
Like the first volume, Peter Greene's 2nd book of samurai sudoku puzzles is great fun! The puzzle are symmetrical and pleasing to the senses. The page size is comfortable for working the large puzzles and the paper is a good for the inevitable erasures. Very few of the puzzles leave you with several sets of pairs, which result in having to guess and check.

Mr. Greene says if you do two puzzles a week, the book will last almost a year. Well, who can be limited to two a week? Maybe I'm just getting better at doing these puzzles, but I got through the whole book in a couple or three months.
I enjoyed this collection of puzzles. I don't think the puzzles are as hard as the author claims, "all the puzzles in this book are hard" maybe 20% are more involved; it is true that the last third of the puzzles are more difficult than the fist third, but it took me only 30 minutes to do puzzle number 100.

On the plus side, the author managed to avoid all of those annoying "choose a number and see what happens" tricks that some sudoku books are full of. A number of the puzzles had some very interesting logic sequences which were fun.

The secret to Samurai Sudoku is the central puzzle; solve it and the puzzle reduces to 4 independent sudoku puzzles. I believe that in most cases, once the central puzzle was solved, the remaining puzzles were much too easy. The author typically puts 30+ clues in the outer puzzles. I really think they should have been reduced to lower 20 or high teens.

Nonetheless, I consider this a book worth purchasing, it took me just under two months to finish the book in off hours and at bedtime, and how can you go wrong with two months of fun for only $9.99.

Since I'm addicted, I am always looking for something new in Sudoku puzzles. This little book is fine, overall. I like the size, weight of paper, quality of paper, and in most of the book it is easy to see the numbers, I don't mind the yellow grid. The middle section, however, has the colors reversed, leaving the numbers in yellow and that is hard to see even in excellent lighting conditions. It would have been preferable to use a darker color for the numbers.
This is a very challenging book with a good mixture of levels of difficulties and a good amount of puzzles to keep one busy for a long time. I like that this is a small, durable book that is easy to carry and does not show much wear and tear like some paperback versions. Overall, great book!
Bought this and several other puzzle books as prizes for a corporate meeting. Everyone loved them.
While I like the idea of the small size which is especially good for traveling, I find the expert section very difficult to use as the colour of the numbers are a sort of yellow and it does not stand out. I should be black as the other sections or even green or blue. I found difficulty distinguishing the 6 from 8 and reading other figures as well.

just a heads up, this is a small book and the puzzles are smaller than i like. the answers in the back are almost impossible to read. if you are young, no problem...if you are over 40 and wear glasses this may be a stuggle. i did like the fact it is very portable.

I've beaten this game and played it for many hours. Can't believe nobody else has rated it yet. It's just an electronic version of the game, and there's really no "flash" to it at all. You just play, win, and progress to harder games with less time in which to solve them. When you do win, you get no electronic "pat on the head" or anything whatsoever in the way of congratulations, really. I'll admit that the very last puzzle I could not beat fairly; I had to copy it to paper&solve it and then enter the results. I've played harder "paper" games but they aren't timed, so this was in that regard harder, but since I could solve it at all, it was in a way easier. Whatever. Features are pretty much lacking except "pencil marks" which is nice; pause&save would have been nice: all you can do is pause, not save, quit, shut it off, and load that same puzzle later on. Imagine not being able to save your progress in another game like, say, Baldur's Gate!!??! Idiotic.

This game is hard to use. If you want pencil marks, it just puts all of them in. This basically gives you the answer as all you have to do is look for a square with only one number in it. I'm also disappointed that you have to insert the CD to play the game. This means that I will not be using it much. The only thing that saved the rating is the Mahjong, which is the main reason I bought it. Valusoft's earlier versions of Mahjong were better and easier to use in my opinion. There has to be better versions of Sudoku and Mahjong available.
