This is the type of game that you will play once, maybe twice. It comes with only one replacement balloon. I bought it for a game at a wedding shower and ended up giving it away as a prize. There is absoulutley no educational value! There is no challenge involved and probably won't hold any interest.
We bought this for our granddaughter as a replacement for another that we had purchased and didn't work. That's the only reason I am unsure about the durability. The game is a riot! We laughed so hard playing it! They couldn't wait to take it home and share it with their mom and friends. Definitely recommend it for kids!
This game is just fun, the fart humor keeps my 3 and 5yr olds attention and laughter going which is a gimick, but this game is more than that. It is a basic stratagy game where players try to get rid of all the cards in their hand by feeding them to Gus. Different cards require a different ammount of 'gas' pumps so high number cards are a little scary, plus there is strategy because each player can use a 'belly buster' card to make someone give Gus extra pumps. When Gus passes gas during your turn you only have to pick up two cards, so it's not too penalizing, just a lot of fun. Also, all of the cards fit nicely into the game chair which makes storage easy.
We were all ready to play the game&have a few laughs, my kids thought the concept was hilarious. HUGE letdown when the balloon failed to inflate, even using the spare. Going back for a refund..

Players use cards to "feed" Gus all sorts of gaseous foods from broccoli to baked beans. With each tasty dish players must pump up Gus and watch his belly grow bigger and bigger. Watch out for the big blast of "gas." You never know when Gus will have a blow-out and give you a stinky penalty. Be first to feed Gus all your food and win! I did not want to buy a new Easiyo yogurt machine when I already had an electric one. I tried following the directions on the yogurt package but used my electric machine. The yogurt ended up being runny and watery.

When I used milk instead of water and followed the directions that came with the electric machine, instead of the instructions on the package it turned out much, much better.

With those modifications - This is one of the best yogurt starters out there. Rich, creamy and thicker than most other starters. Has a great flavor. I only wish it weren't so expensive.

The pieces are pretty tight fitting so as I was assembling the stand (made of flimsy styrofoam)it broke in several different places. I did manage to tape it up and made it work for the birthday party but no way is this something you should consider as a "reuseable" item.

It has Elmo in it, which is what my 11-month-old loves. But there is way too much talking and too many clips of "live" people. My son is glued to lots of Sesame Street and Elmo videos even at his young age - but he tends to lose interest in this one quickly.
I'm not sure where these complaints of "too much talking" are coming from; this video is 90% singing. In my opinion, Kids' Favorite Songs 1 was much more guilty of that particular flaw than this one.

Anyway, my one-year-old LOVES music, and this has been the only video so far that he will sit through all the way. Considering his minuscule attention span and the 45-minute running time of this DVD, that's a pretty big accomplishment. He's seen it about twenty times and his face still lights up when he hears the video starting up. He also laughs every time Snuffy chases his runaway meatball across the screen. (Um, you'll understand when you see it...)

From my own viewpoint as a parent, even considering that I can be somewhat kids' music averse, I definitely can't complain that this is my son's favorite. Sure, the songs do tend to get stuck in your head (God help me if I start singing Elmo's Song at work again), but it's not particularly annoying as these things sometimes are. The selection of songs is great -- fun, with a combination of humorous and classic tunes, most of which I remember from my own childhood. Some of the kids in the video are pretty cute and add more humor into the mix.

Recommended by me, and highly recommended by my kid.
This is an excellent DVD!! Following up on the original Kids Favorite Songs, this DVD kicks up the fun to another level for your little one. This DVD includes actual children (from preschool age to mabye about 2nd grade it looks like) and they hilariously give their take on their favorite songs and nursery rhymes even singing in their own 'melodious' sort of way. This DVD is very entertaining and your little Elmo junkie will love that most of the Sesame street muppets are there including - yes Elmo is there and he actually narrates this one as well. My daughter is 18 mos and she just loves to see other kids singing, performing and acting silly like herself.. They perform all the kids favorites like Mary had a little lamb, Itsy Bitsy Spider, Jack&Jill, If you're happy and you know it and the list goes on.. Parents this will definitely keep your little busy body entertained throughout the whole show and hopefully give you some peace and quite for at least half an hour...

I bought this 5-6 years ago on VHS for my son and he absolutely loved it. I now have a two year old daughter and had to order her the dvd. She loves it, too. Like it much better than part 1.
Somewhere into the so-so "Itsy Bitsy Spider" segment, the sinking feeling thatKids' Favorite Songs 2is strictly sequel material sets in. This is a march down Sesame Street on a slow day, when the loopy monster misunderstandings and goofball gags miss a rare beat or two. Still, making merry is what the Sesame crew does best, and they succeed here, if on a less brilliant level than we've come to expect. All the usual favorites, like "If You're Happy and You Know It" and "The Ants Go Marching," get the gang and their real-life kid friends grooving, and a running joke involving a renegade meatball keeps kids 18 months to 5 tuned in to the end. GREAT DVD! My twin 2 year old girls are glued to the TV when this is on. They love to see all the animals. They love dancing to the music and they are just now starting to sing some of the songs on the DVD. It is a huge hit !
Confession: I enjoy several of the Wiggles' movies and happily join my 4-year-old to watch "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing," and others. "Safari" is fun, but for me it's a bit less interesting because it all takes place at a zoo, with pretty much every number shot in a leafy glade.... or maybe a couple of leafy glades, who can be sure? The music is also a tad less diverse, and more than one song is a too-thinly disguised lesson exhorting kids not to touch snakes, to take good care of pets and so on. My daughter enjoys it, but doesn't ask to watch it as often as she wants to see others. Animal-loving kiddos will enjoy meeting camels, dingoes, dolphins and emus as the Wiggles romp through the Australian zoo. Late great Aussie crocodile hunter Steve Irwin rivals Captain Feathersword for flat-out zaniness.
When I first bought this for my then 1 year old, she would get upset when Steve Irwin came into the picture because she knew he wasn't one of The Wiggles. By the time she was 2 or so she got over it and it quickly became one of her favorite movies. She is now 4 and still loves it. Our second daughter, who just turned 1, really loves seeing Steve Irwin's daughter, Bindy. His entire family is perfect in this movie. My husband and I also get caught up in the movie. I can't tell you how many times the family has sat down together to watch it. Of all the Wiggles movies we own, this is the most played in our DVD player. I only wish they could have made a part 2 because it is simply that great.
This is a great Wiggles DVD! My kids love it, and there's a lot of novelty that keeps their interest even on repeated viewings. My kids like to make a game of telling which Wiggle they are (and which ones we are) depending on what color(s) are in their shirt that day, and now my boy has added Steve the Crocodile Hunter as one of the Wiggles he can be - it's probably cuter if you can see it, I suppose...
What a fun movie to watch for my 2yr. old and myself. Great music and with Steve Erwin, it's funny too. Good educational tool with Austraila's wildlife animals.

I got this DVD to replace the VHS tape my son wore out from watching! This is one of the best videos to make learning the alphabet interesting and fun. Loaded with games and music!! I recommend it highly!
My 19 month old seems to like parts of this video and I have a feeling he'll be more engaged with it as he gets older. The music is fun and he likes to dance with it. If you don't mind a little (or a lot) of Elmo, the adults will be ok with this video too. Some of you know what I mean...

this is one of the favorites for our 14 mth old and her cousins (2 yrs old&4 yrs old).
This DVD was a bit disappointing after reading all the raving reviews about it. Music is good but the presentation of the alphabets was a bit confusing(was it meant to be a jungle???)
I love Sesame Street and enjoy the alphabet carttons/short films they make. However, watching 26 of the little films back to back is a too much. There is some occasional dialouge, but it is mostly the little cartoons. My son likes it for a little while, but then gets overstimulated. Honestly, it gives me a headache... :)

This is his greatest concert (IMHO)! The only problem is...it's missing some key songs that appeared on the PBS version. The continuity has been hacked by the way this one has been edited. It just doesn't flow like the original.

when i first saw this concert on PBS13, i enjoyed it much more then the pre-recorded video i purchased. it's missing many songs like,"Sweet potato pie","Mexico",&many others from the"Never die young"album. they should launch the original concert on DVD for us to see all the songs without interruption.
I have a copy of this concert I taped from PBS years ago. My VCR was not a HI FI unit when I made the recording. So I purchased this concert video that was recorded in Boston. It sounds great in HI FI stereo. It is the same concert but this video tape is missing most all the songs from the"Never Die Young"album. My copy from PBS has many more songs on it. Why the difference?

The Bottom Line:

I'm not sure the ending strikes the right note, but even with a little hiccup Sweet Smell of Success is a fascinating study of human greed and cruelty that is extraordinarily frank and biting for a movie from the 1950s (or any era really); add in a pair of terrific performances by Curtis and Lancaster and it's a heckuva film.
The very first movies, relied upon exaggerated acting and the actors' good looks. Then, along came the 'talkies' - and voices assumed great importance. With the advent of 'talkies' came the necessity to tell a good story - cinematically. Today, the emphasis is all on 'special effects', 'shock value', 'sex, and foul language.

For a relatively brief period between the coming of talkies and the modern cinematographic masterpieces, there was a halcyon period where excellently acted and expertly directed films were made of exceptionally good stories - often based on first rate novels.

'The Sweet Smell of Success' is one such movie. The actors are highly competent, the acting is superb, the story is great and the direction is first rate. 'The Sweet Smell of Success' comes together exceptionally well and is a first rate movie in all respects.

I would recommend it to anyone who wishes first rate entertainment.
One of the problems with studying in film school, being a movie buff and getting older is that at some point in ones' life a man ventures into the video store, peruses the shelves and reaches the conclusion that he has seen every movie worth seeing.
I thought I was getting there until a few years ago when I heard about and checked out "The Sweet Smell of Success". It was like that with "Chinatown", which I never saw until the 1990s and now consider one of the best films ever.
"Sweet Smell of Success" holds up totally even though it is black-white, set in 1957. Burt Lancaster is J.J., based on Walter Winchell, who was a leading accuser of Communists in the media.
Tony Curtis is a lackey publicist who lives on the whim of those who pay him to place items in various columns, which means he must grovel at the feet of clients and columnists. J.J. plays him like a fiddle. This has lines so vitriolic and perfect, Frank Manciewics in "All About Eve" is no more biting, and Bette Davis in "Eve" bites with the best of 'em.
Lancaster just fills the screen with irony and sardonic, hurtful wit. Curtis fends it off with skill, it is like a fencing match. Anybody who has any desire to study dialogue must watch and memorize this. Everything is tremendous; the acting, the directing, the score, the noir shadows of New York at night. The music is unreal, lots of horns, filling the room with its wailing sobs of a corrupt, naked city.
A love story between J.J.'s little sis and a musician (Martin Milner I think, who was in "Adam 12"), is the heart of the story. It is the one true, good thing, but J.J. is a monster. Perhaps Bob Towne had this in mind when he cast John Huston to be an incestuos father in "Chinatown". The inference, being the '50s, is much more subtle but it seems J.J. has the hots for sis and wants nobody to have her. He brands the musician a Commie, using sycophant secondary journalists to keep his own hands clean.
Any chance for this dark one to have a happy ending goes down the tubes when sis, as much to torment her bro, kills herself. Curtis is utterly ammoral. His picture appears in Webster's next to the word ammoral.
Many films have played off this theme. "Swimming With Sharks" (1996, Kevin Spacey, Frank Whaley) comes to mind. If this could be 20 stars I'd give it 20.
I watched this film several months ago, and still the characters stand out sharply in my mind. Tony Curtis plays Sid Falco marvelously, as a man whose mind is quick with an excuse, an accusation, a bit of flattery, whatever the occasion calls for; this is a small, slick man, swimming around the ankles of larger and more powerful men. He knows he's an unscrupulous guy, but wants to work his way up the food chain. Sometimes you think he cares about going too far in his pursuit of fame and wealth - Curtis gives Falco moments of blank pause, expressions of troubled calculation - but he goes ahead anyway with every dirty plot he thinks will serve him well. As the cold colossus J.J. Hunsecker, Burt Lancaster seriously gave me chills; he delivers a brilliant and well-controlled performance. He's sharp and clean, with his powerful stature, squared jaw, and steely glasses; his speech is quiet and precise, and even his little gestures seem to send ripples through the room. I also quite enjoyed Susan Harrison as his sister, Susan, who's winsome and worn down, but still firm enough to try and get out from under her older brother's thumb; I liked how even though she's nineteen, she's got old, tired eyes, an older spirit.

I loved the screaming bright lights and deep shadows of New York City, the energy that ran through the film in electric currents. I enjoyed peering into every bar and jazz club and seedy room that Sid Falco pops up in. I liked how Susan and her beau, a steady and honest jazz musician, seem to speak in clear, round tones while Falco's and Hunsecker's dialogue comes out in a sharp patter, full of quick sharp stabs and quiet turns of the knife. Amidst the poisonous words, the lies and slander, the jibes and jokes that lead to uneasy laughter, you wait and watch for someone with integrity to (hopefully) prevail. I loved how the film shows us the power of words (even just a few words) wielded effectively, whether for good or - in a lot of cases - for the purpose of destroying people.
I always sort of put off seeing this even though I've heard good things about it. I think it was because Tony Curtis is in it and the only thing I've ever seen him do were really bad introductions to some Alfred Hitchcock DVDs. In those introductions, Curtis fumbled his lines (which were often filled with errors) and so I assumed he was the worst actor in the world. I should kick myself.

This movie is not only one of the best "noir" films I've seen but one of the best movies I've ever seen PERIOD.

It's included in the noir category despite it not being a crime drama at all. The reason for this is it's shadow-filled cinematography and its theme of corruption. According to this movie, human beings are bleak, cold-hearted creatures.

It's about a Broadway columnist (played by Burt Lancaster in one of his best roles) who manipulates everyone he comes in contact with. He is one of the vilest, cold-hearted bastards I've ever seen in a movie because he's just so real. This isn't a noir hit-man in a fedora hat. This guy could be real and I'm sure some of us have met or will meet someone like him. Tony Curtis plays a bastard publicity agent though you sort of feel bad for him even despite his faults. He's the "protagonist" and we are told the story through his eyes. There are a couple of characters who have integrity and are not so corrupted but they only count as victims of the manipulation.

The acting is top-notch. Both Lancaster and Curtis had me in awe throughout the whole movie. Usually movies about "show business" don't interest me all that much but this movie was fascinating. This is dark look at NYC life in the 1950s. I recommend it with every noir-loving bone in my body.

I had been looking for this movie on DVD for the longest time (I had it on VHS)and decided to look on Amazon, just in case. Low and behold there is was and at a great price. This is kind of a mixed species version of 'The Odd Couple'. Tom Hanks plays a neat freak police detective (and non dog lover) who ends up getting 'stuck' with an excessively slobbery dog.

As with all movies of this type (cop and dog), the storyline is pretty much the same: cop hates dogs, gets stuck with one, ends up loving the pooch. This one is better than most. There are several very funny scenes.

It is a movie that can be enjoyed by viewers of all ages.
Turner and Hooch is a funny and bittersweet movie. Fans of both Tom Hanks and dogs should enjoy it.

Layered over this is a healthy love story between Hanks and animal vet Mare Winningham, who share a terribly sexy scene together--while fully clothed--doing no more than making breakfast. Awesome video! My son is a huge Thomas fan and he wants to watch this over and over. A great feature length story!
We have several Thomas DVD's and older videos that are enjoyed on our house but this isn't one of them. The story is good but the narration is so monotone it is beyond boring to listen too.

Unlike many, my son and I actually did like Thomas and the Magic Railroad. Yes, there were definitely weaknesses with much of the acting, dialog, etc. but my 2yo son LOVES Diesel 10 and really enjoyed the horse and dog in the live action segments. I liked the songs and appreciated some of the puns. The pace kept moving w/o being frantic.
We also have the Complete Season 1 Set(British, Ringo Starr) and my son enjoys them. Gets all excited about the Choo-Choos! My husband and I really prefer those over more recent Seasons. We have a friend with some of the "new Thomas" DVDs and we found them inferior and so generally haven't bought them. I also can't stand the new theme song.

However, we went ahead and got "Calling All Engines" specifically because of the amount of Diesel content. However, my son won't even watch it. I find the interruptions for "activities" annoying- just have them as a DVD feature, not part of the main presentation. My son watches very little TV/Movies and I think he found the CGI animation stuff bizarre. I think he also was disappointed/confused by Diesel 10 having a different way of being/speaking from Magic Railroad. The change in voice actor isn't the issue- we often watch Magic Railroad in Spanish- more the way of speaking is like a total personality change. He didn't do anything but sit there throughout the majority of the movie. And then at the end when he finally spoke, he was sort of grumpy, not comically devilish. And I get that the whole point was Steamies and Diesels working together, but there was no process for Diesel 10 to get to that point. It's like he was simply neutered.
Anyway, my son as so excited for me to put this DVD on and then stopped watching within a few minutes. On sick/lazy days he will watch Magic Railroad or the Season 1 DVDs all the way through. I did let Calling All Engines play through while we did something else, and my son never went back over to it. I put it on another time and he danced to Busy, Busy, Busy and then was finished. I guess this will be a good movie to put on when my son is begging to watch a movie and I'd prefer for him to do something else. ;)
From now on we will just have to stick with Old School Thomas. I think I might have to invest in a Region Free DVD player so that I can watch the UK releases of the Complete Seasons from the early years.
Summertime is always beautiful on the Island of Sodor. It is a busy time for all of the engines... but when the Steam engines and Diesels can't get along, and no work is getting done, the engines are in a terrible mess! Will the new airport get ready in time? Will the bridge get built? Can the engines save the day?

This is a hilarious movie. We ordered it. It came quickly, within a few days and it was a good price to pay. Need a laugh, buy this movie!
Jack starts off as a kind of charming jack a** who only dates women under 30 and can never sleep in the bed with a woman he just relations with. Pretty pathetic, huh? Soon he meets Keaton throgh her daughter (I know - keep watching!) and they discover things about themselves they weren't aware of before. What follows is a huge emotional flow of good and bad (and hilarious)! Jack does eventually get a good dose of justice. Nicholson and Keaton are at they're best and really draw you into their characters. The laughs are smart, situational and many! There's also a nice warmth to complete the satisfaction of this gem - nice to re-watch too.
THIS IS THE BEST MOVIE EVER FOR AN UPLIFTING AND LIGHT-HEARTED DAY!!!

A smart and often very funny movie about love on the back nine of life. It's different than the love of youth, and better, I think: The romance is just as sweet, but richer, with a lifetime of experience swirled around in it.

This is a thoughtful and--not a word I'd usually use, but perfect in this case--delightful movie. Jack is indeed his own type, as the movie makes note, which makes this a role seemingly written for him, playing a legendary Lothario forced to consider what he's missed and missing in such a life. A gutsy role for Nicholson, if you think about it, but because he's Jack, you don't. (Well, until later, obviously.)

Diane Keaton's always been a background actress for me, someone who's always done good to great work, but whose films and roles have never resonated in memory for me. This one I'll remember. For me it's her best. Her candor onscreen is so real at times it's startling; she seems less to be acting than being caught on film.

In the supporting roles, Amanda Peet continues to get better--check out Igby Goes Down for more evidence--and, because I'm a guy, prettier as well. The only false note, not surprisingly, is Keanu Reeves, whose casting is an absolute mystery to me. And as a doctor no less; Joey's Drake Remoray on Friends seems more real. I just don't get how with so many actually good (and more handsome, for that matter) actors available--Ted? The fact that he continues to be cast in roles that require him to emote just further convinces me he's a modern Rasputin.

It's a small price to pay, though. This one's worth evening price. It's as close to genuine as today's Hollywood gets. You'll feel better for it, and actually wish you could be older and in love.
This romantic comedy is great and almost a classical one. Performances are great but the script is even better. Even though the DVD is quite simple and do not include any additional interesting material that would have completed the product, the movie by itself deserves to be part of all collections.
As upscale sitcoms go,Something's Gotta Givehas more to offer than most romantic comedies. Obviously working through some semi-autobiographical issues regarding "women of a certain age," writer-director Nancy Meyers brings adequate credibility and above-average intelligence to what is essentially (but not exclusively) a fantasy premise, in which an aging lothario who's always dated younger women (Jack Nicholson, more or less playing himself) falls for a successful middle-aged playwright (Diane Keaton) who's convinced she's past the age of romance, much less sexual re-awakening. As long as old pals Nicholson and Keaton are on screen discussing their dilemma or discovering their mutual desire,Something's Gotta Giveis terrific, proving (in case anyone had forgotten) that Hollywood can and should aim for an older demographic. Myers falls short with the sitcom device of a younger lover (Keanu Reeves) who wants Keaton as much as Nicholson does; it's believable but shallow and too easily dismissed. Myers also skimps on supporting roles for Frances McDormand, Amanda Peet, and Jon Favreau, but thankfully this is one romantic comedy that doesn't pander to youth. We love this game!!
As a family of 5, it gets a little old playing life or monopoly! This set is visually appealing to us and our older two children (ages 9&11). The 2 year old tries to play as well. It has been a little challenging for the young ones, however, we don't have to skip too many cards to get to one they understand, and it really brings out their talents and skills, in a really fun environment! This game has brought out lots of support for family members, and is helping the kids feel comfortable with themselves, and to not be afraid to be themselves and act silly with the rest of us!

Even the price tag, for you bargain shoppers, is quiet good. We have a couple of more up-scale games that had a heavier price tag than most family games, but this one has them all beat, hands down. It's worth every penny.
I love this game so much that I bring it to small parties whenever I can. I've played the original cranium game, but I like this one so much better because it is more current and "hip". The only downfall to this is that after a few years, what was considered "cool" when the game was created is now out of date. Nevertheless, most of the aspects of this game is timeless and that is what makes it great. Much fun and my favorite board game by far.
This game is a blast to play with some close friends or family members during the holidays!

I agree with the other reviewers that this is a great, functional, educational toy. I also agree that it would have been nice to have had a few different tiles, and the lower magnet 'storage' slate is somewhat impractical. A little cloth bag, or a magnetized back to the calendar would have been more helpful.

My main criticism is that the magnets are not very strong. It's easy for the pieces to be knocked off.

Overall, however, it's a great idea, and kudos to Melissa&Doug for coming up with such a fun toy!
We learned this really cool song in pre-school called "days of the week", so when I saw this magnetic calendar I thought perfect, and it was. Every day when we are getting ready we sing our song and put up the new day. I then have him repeat the day of the week and month. What better way for him to have fun by learning his day's of the week.

We bought this for our 4 year old to help him with his concept (or lack thereof!) of time. He likes moving the numbers around, that he can see what's coming, and that he gets to be a part of the "planning" process. :-) My only complaint is the lack of blank tiles. You get ONE magnetic chunk to write your own special ocassion on. There are no tiles for sibling birthdays, so if you have more than 2 children, you'd have to just write, "Sibling Birthday" instead of "T-Rex's Birthday." There DOES seem to be a diversity in the tiles and it seems like all the major holidays are included. I just wish they had more room for individuality!
I definitely think this is a cute toy but I have some issues. I like the different magnetic pieces that indicate different daily events....for example "go to the dentist" or "sunny day". My problem is that you can go to the dentist ON a sunny day. The spaces for each day are a little too small so there's not room to put more than one event. So when my son went to the library and the doctor on the same day and it was raining outside, we could only fit 2 things and even the 2 things didn't fit well. They hung over into other spaces.
The other issue is that the board is made up of 2 separate pieces. A top piece is the calendar and the bottom piece is just like the calendar but with no writing...it's just blank to hold all the extra magnets. I wish it was the other way because the calendar is a little too high up for my child to see it great but if it were down any lower, my younger son would be able to grab the pieces off and get them in his mouth.
The idea is great. The pieces are cute. I just wish these issues had been addressed.

My son is too young for this quite yet. He likes to put things in and take them out, so I thought he would enjoy this toy, but he is not able to concentrate long enough, he takes them out and carries them around (which I have to find every night!). I believe he is going to love it when he is older though. Very good quality!
These puzzles are wonderful! They are sturdy, no rough edges, brightly colored, and have big knobs on each piece for babies to handle with ease. There is a picture of the puzzle piece under the piece to help the child recognize by sight as well as shape, where the puzzle piece goes. I will buy more Melissa and Doug products, without a doubt!
My daughter will get these out every single time she sees them and name them and what they say. She is 17 months old, we bought it when she was 14 months old. Excellent for beginners on learning the 'how's' of putting puzzles back in place.
I have other Melissa and Doug puzzles, and expected this one to be just as good. Mistake. The older ones had pictures painted on the wood board, this one has a paper picture glued on. The safety of your baby eating that paper and glue is unclear...

On top of this, the board is not solid wood, but looks like a few thin boards pressed together (sorry, don't know what it's called!) - the edges are very sharp, I tried to file the rough sides down and cut my hand!

Of course, no way my son is playing with this puzzle, so all its cuteness and pretty sound education value - along with my money, are going to waste. Think twice before buying.

Although this book is great, why would Amazon sell a book that is only 3 inches by 3 inches!!! I have bought this book before and loved it but had given it away and was in the market to get a new copy. I thought this was a used copy but when I received the book it was a tiny little minature,not the normal sized paperback. Sorry to be dense, but I think the description should have been a bit more detailed.
This book truly is a "miniature edition." It could serve as a coaster - BUT if you ever decide to use it as one, make sure you read the inside from cover to cover. The contents are hillarious. You could read this entire book from the time you start a load of laundry and finish it before the timer to the dryer goes off ... AND ... it would be one of the most enjoyable loads of laundry you'll ever remember doing. I ordered three of these books - one for myself, and one for each of my sister's (best friends)! Great gift idea for the girls!
The read was cute. I got a few chuckles out of the book. But when ordering I didnt notice that it was a miniature and was so very disappointed in that fact. Whether it was an over sight on my part or misleading by Amazon, I'm not sure. So as far as that is concerned, only a mid rating.
I did enjoy the mini enough to order the "REAL" book and have started reading and enjoying that.

"Oh yeah, come to the party," Emma had said. "Simon will be there and he wants you," she said. When did that transform into getting torn to shreds by an evil bitch? Becky isn't about to let Livia get a piece of her without giving something back, but those sure are some strange sounds coming out of that woman. Finding out that your best friend, your best friend's new boyfriend, and the man you have been lusting after are other than human is a bit of a shocker, but Becky is no weak-willed lady Plus, she has to decide the fate of the bitch that had attacked her.

When Simon finally gets Becky secured in his home, the Puma in him purrs. If he had any doubts at all about her being his mate, they had been erased at the scent of her blood and the sight of Livia crouched over her in the Friedelinde's garden. It was a good thing Becky had not even jokingly mentioned killing Livia as Livia's punishment for attacking her, because Simon would not have hesitated killing Livia for spilling his mate's blood. In fact, it had only been the fear in Becky's face, fear of him, that had stopped him from doing that anyway. He would have to work on that fear.

We got a taste of the Simon/Becky romance in "The Wallflower", the story that introduced the Halle Pumas, but now they are back with a vengeance to resume their story in Sweet Dreams. Becky is as sassy as ever and Simon is sweet, strong, and sexy with a healthy dosing of protectiveness and possessiveness from both the man and the Puma. Seriously, what woman wouldn't love the guy? Though I have to say I'm rather glad Becky doesn't just fall all over him because this story is a great deal funnier for it. If I had one problem with this story it was that it was too darn short and that I didn't want it to end, but if that isn't the best recommendation I can give for a story, I just don't know what is.
Rebecca `Becky' Yaeger's plans for the evening did not include being attacked by a psycho who sprouts claws and fangs. It was supposed to be a fun filled evening with friends at a masquerade party but instead she's fighting for her life and all of a sudden her life is irreversibly changed. She certainly never suspected that her friends and Simon, the man she loves, have the ability to shift into Pumas. Sure she wants Simon but eating cat chow and using a litter box holds absolutely no appeal so what's a girl to do?

Simon already suspected that Becky is his mate before the attack but he hadn't claimed her or even let on that he had any intentions toward her. His mate's life being threatened brings out all his protective instincts and he certainly isn't about to listen to Becky's arguments against their mating. It's a done deal as far as he's concerned. Before he can satisfy his inner animal and mate Becky though he has to take care of her injuries and even then she argues with him. It's when she tells him `bite me' that he sees the perfect opportunity to get exactly what he wants - to claim her. There's no denying that they're mated after he's marked her as his!

Livia's attack on Becky was completely unprovoked and makes absolutely no sense to her - all she knows is that Livia has suddenly sprouted claws and fangs and is intent on killing her. It isn't until Becky's best friend Emma arrives that the pieces begin to fit together. Livia's envious of Emma's status within the pride and believes that if she can acquire the Curana's ring then she'll be queen instead of Emma. That's not how things work though and `Senora Psychopath' is in for a rude awakening because Max, Emma and Simon aren't about to let her get away with what she's done. Livia's sentenced to life as an outcast and Simon carries Becky off as his new mate. If Simon thinks he's simply going to claim her and they'll live happily ever after then he'd better think again. Sure Becky loves him but she's stubbornly refusing to say the words, her change is taking longer than it should, and she's suddenly ailing and the doctor's diagnosis isn't fully explaining the odd symptoms.

Dana Marie Bell writes this story with such humor and drama that I was quickly caught up in the romance between Becky and Simon and was unable to put this book down. SWEET DREAMS is the second book in the HALLE PUMA series and flows beautifully from the first book WALLFLOWER. Becky's feisty comments and loving nature really kept me chuckling and Simon seems to get a real kick out of her snappy comebacks. I loved getting to know all of the characters in this story and they each quickly began to feel like treasured friends that I'll be happy to revisit many times in the future.

I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for more Dana Marie Bell's books in the future. This story was fun, whimsical and wholly satisfying. I'd definitely recommend picking up the other books in the HALLE PUMA series as well. WALLFLOWER, SWEET DREAMS and CAT OF A DIFFERENT COLOR are all wonderful stories that truly capture the imagination.

Simon swoops in to take care of Becky after her attack when he realizes she is his mate. He wants to mark her as his and has to control himself while Becky comes to terms with the changes that are happening so fast.

As the two work through their problems, Becky is struck with an illness that threatens her happiness.

Can Simon and Becky figure out what is happening before it is too late?

Sweet Dreams picks up right where The Wallflower leaves off and I love it! Dana Marie Bell did not disappoint in this sequel. Sweet Dreams is just as hot, sexy, and funny as The Wallflower.

Becky is funny and plays dirty, making her my kind of girl. Simon wastes no time once he knows Becky was his. I do wish Ms. Bell would have explored how Becky knew about the ringing because I would have been interested to see more and have an explanation as to why it was happening. It was a cute way to break the tension and caused for me to laugh, so it works out in the end.

I am Joyfully Recommending Sweet Dreams because it made me laugh and kept me on my toes. I can't wait for book three.

Getting attacked by some crazed she-devil, complete with claws and fangs, certainly wasn-t on Rebecca Yaeger-s agenda when she agreed to attend a local masquerade. In a few slashing moments, Becky learns things about her friends and the man she loves that she never would have suspected.

When Simon rescues Becky from an unprovoked attack by one of his Pride, he finally confirms what he-s long suspected: she-s his mate. I guess as a debut novel this isn't bad but it's by no means a good book. The main character has no hooks to endear herself to the reader. There's no real story to her, she's just barely above one dimensional. The rest of the cast is trotted out on a one by one "Wait, is THIS the killer?!" basis. The story starts nowhere and really goes nowhere. There's a killing, there's another, there's two in the past. Gasp! Are they all related?! With the exception of a couple short stories and her second novel (waiting on the nightstand as I type) I've read and enjoyed everything Ms Harris has written except this. If you're a completest, go for it, you might as well read everything. Otherwise, give this one a pass, it's not that good.

If you haven't started reading Charlaine Harris - you should! If you like this book, try the Sookie Stackhouse, Harper Connelly, Aurora Teagarden, and Lily Bard series! These books are great - entertaining and smart, and they flow very easily from one to the next, leaving you wanting more.

Catherine Scott Linton has moved back to Lowfield, Mississippi. Her parents died in a car accident on their way to visit her at her first job. She's now working for the local paper and building walls to keep everyone out of her life -- passing time feeling guilty. Then one morning she finds a body. In the horror and chaos, Catherine didn't recognize the dead woman, who turns out to be her father's nurse of thirty years. Now, she's convinced that her parents' accident was no accident at all -- but why would someone kill the town doctor, his wife, and his nurse. Catherine is determined get to the bottom of this mystery.

The story unfolds slowly as we met the characters that Catherine does interact with. Slowly, we come to know that Catherine is not a shrinking violet but a modern woman a bit embarrassed by her unthinking prejudices. But, she is a daughter that loved her parents and misses them with a depth that I think many of us can understand. All her reactions seem subdued and a bit off-kilter but that's because we've been brainwashed by movies and TV. When you stop and think of it -- how would you react to finding a body in an abandoned house in mid-summer Mississippi -- one that had been bludgeoned to death. Catherine is every woman who has had to deal with circumstances outside her generally expected experiences. Harris brings us a character, who is strong and believable in her depression, anger, and the uncertainty whether what is wanted is justice or vengeance.

The conclusion is a shock for the character as well as the reader. Murder is a crime that often seems necessary to the perpetrator but an outsider looking at it sees other avenues that could have achieved the same result.

For fans of Harris' Southern Vampire and Grave... series, this stand alone is far less humor, but the same deft touch with characterization, setting, and plot. You can smell the hot dusty air and feel the tension build with every chapter.
I really stumbled on this book while scanning for new books and ordered it on a
whim. It is a nicely written novel, certainly not her best work but an indication
of good things to come. She stumped me totally on the medical mystery and although
the ending felt rushed she finished on her own terms. I have read all of her
vampire books and they indicate that Ms. Harris is polishing her skills very
well indeed. I will continue to buy her books.
I agree with the other reviewers in that this is not Charlaine Harris' best work. Everyone has to start somewhere and this is her start. The characters weren't well developed and the ending was rushed. The way that Catherine figured out "who done it" was sudden and didn't have enough background, not to mention that the way the revelation was made was odd. Even so, the book was an okay read. The Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris is EXCELLENT, closely followed by the Harper Connelly series. I agree with the reviewer that said don't start here if you've never read a Charlaine Harris book before. Start with Sookie and then Harper.

Bought these for my 15 month old and I will NEVER go back to the Gerber cereal bars.

These have more nutritional value and cost less.

The only down side is it's hard to get him to eat just one. It finishes so quickly he begs for more. I wish they made a slightly bigger size for bigger kids

We don't normally buy things like these, but I was able to get a really great deal on these. So we bought a case a took a chance. I'm glad we did. They actually do taste pretty darn good and they are the perfect serving size for one kid. We keep a box in the car for when we are out and about on extended periods of time. Quick, tasty snack and it's much better for you than drive thru!
I like buying the Earth's Best bars for my toddler, because they don't contain high fructose corn syrup. They're one of the few cereal bar brands that don't have it. Plus, my son loves the taste of these bars!
Have loved these bars sine I found them. Like the other reviewers said, they don't have high fructose corn syrup and other junk in them. Plus I find the Earth's Best foods and snacks to have more nutrients in them than other popular brands at a reasonable price. My 16 month old likes a baby yogurt and one of these for lunch when we're on the go, plus he never grows tired of them. Perfect for travel.
My children like the cherry and apple the best. I like the strawberry and cherry, but all of them taste great compared to other brands. Healthy and safe snacks don't have to taste bad and my kids have not grown tired of these for a while now. That says alot.

We love these Wintergreen Altoids! While they are a very good breath mint, we use them mainly for flavoring our coffee and sometimes, tea. One, in the bottom of the cup, or a few in the coffee/tea pot makes life more interesting! Also, good with just a touch of hot cocoa, added along with Altoids, in coffee. And yes, they are good in hot cocoa, too. Very inexpensive, easy way to flavor coffee or tea, much cheaper than alternative. Almost no calories, but big on flavor! We've used these for decades!

Product actually arrived sooner than I expected, and was properly packaged and in good condition.
This flavor of ALTOIDS is especially good, although, my little "curious" cat "Princess" does not agree. While opening the packet, she heard the crackling of the wrapping and raced across the bed to see what I was doing. That was until I actually released the little tins from the wrapping. When I showed her the mints, she jumped across the bed backwards.

That was funny, but what was even more funny was when dropped a mint on the floor (by accident) and she went dashing to see what this new fun object had to offer. She was about 5 inches away when again she "sprang backwards."

While I was rather amused, I realized that even cats think this product is "shockingly strong." I think this flavor is even stronger than the peppermint and cinnamon. It clears your head and awakens you to life, no doubt.

This is one of the few mints I'll eat, even though it has sugar. They are just too good to pass up and are just 10 calories. Much stronger than ordinary mints! They are even worth reviewing!

As a lover of peppermint AND dark chocolate, these little treasures are a perfect match. Highly recommended, low guilt because they are so satisfying, one..well maybe 2 are enough after a meal when you are looking for a little dessert. YUMMM
I used to find Altoids so curiously strong that I could rarely tolerate them. Now, coated in thick, delicious dark chocolate, they are just right as the chocolate mellows them delightfully. They make for a quick, light treat that leaves a sweet mint taste lingering behind long after they've dissolved. They are lovely after tea or coffee or just on their own.
