(Easy to use!) 『I smoothed out a thin layer of compost on a large dinner plate and gently pressed in a layer of these seeds. I watered the whole thing liberally and set it by the window. The seeds started sprouting after 3-4 days and another 3 days later I had plush grass for my 2 kitties to chew on. Something must be wrong with these cats, though, because they didnt' eat the grass; they played with them like they were pieces of string and left dirt all over my floor. Thanks, ya little jerks. Anyway, the seeds grew as promised, and couldn't be easier to grow. Good product! Just don't waste them on defective kitties!』
(Cats couldn't get enough!!) 『Make sure you follow the instructions, water, leave in shade until the sprouts are out, then move to a sunny area. The grass grew really quickly, within 2 days there were sprouts, I really wanted to give it to the cats when it was about 2 inches high, so I brought it indoors and they immediately started pulling the grass seedlings out. So I figured I'd wait until they were a little taller. I waited 2 more days and the grass grew about an inch a day.
All I can say is that next time I'll start a second batch in a few days after the first one, and I'll also add more seeds to make it thicker.
Word of warning, if you leave it for the cats all day, they will eat it ALL DAY!! I took it away from them after 5 minutes and they had eaten the whole pot down to 2 inches of grass!!
I also ordered the catnip and the kitty garden but I haven't planted them yet. Will leave a review from my cats when I do.』

I believe this is the penultimate collection. There are artist I wish that were included though such as: THE POINTER SISTERS, STEPHANIE MILLS, DONNA SUMMER, ROBERTA FLACK, TEENA-MARIE, ANITA WARD, more from DIONNE WARWICK too; SHIRLEY BASSEY(JAMES BOND themes such as "DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER," circa 1971;and "WHERE ARE YOU," theme from MOONRAKER, C 1979 and many others that were omitted or not present for inclusion. Hopefully, TIMELIFE/RHINO can create future volumes and send them to owner's of this boxset and like myself can just purchase them thru phone or online. To reiterate, this is a must have. I was searching online for a recording of my favorite Russian folk song, "Ochi Chernye" ("Dark Eyes"), and came across a video of Sophie Milman performing a delightful jazz arrangement of the song. I instantly fell in love with this wonderful singer. I quickly searched for other music by her, and was impressed with each song I heard. After listening repeatedly to several of her recordings, including the songs on this CD, I can say with some confidence that she has become one of my all-time favorite jazz vocalists. If you're into vocal jazz and the old pop standards, do yourself a favor and give a listen to Sophie Milman. This is my very first Sophie Milman CD and most definitely will not be the last! I'm truly impressed with her outstanding vocal flair and style. She has an extensive vocal range and her phrasing is crisp and crystal-clear. She's now among my newest favorite jazz singers whom I call in my jazz vocabulary the second generation jazz divas, next to the original divas - Ella, Sarah, et al.
Released in 2004, this self-titled debut album of Sophie Milman is utterly charming and stunningly beautiful with an impeccable choice of material that represents some of the greatest composers and lyricists of all-time, from George and Ira Gershwin, Jimmy McHugh and Dorothy Fields to Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim and Antonio Carlos Jobim.
All the tracks are sure winners! Her heartfelt take on my all-time favorite "La Vie En Rose" alone is enough reason to own this elegant CD. Listen closely with your undivided attention as she sings this lovely song in its original setting in French with its enthralling instrumentation especially the striking bridge solo. To make it short, it is simply splendid!

She does more than justice to Jobim's "Agua de Beber" with a jazz fusion arrangement but still remains true to its Bossa Nova rhythm. While she's jazzing it up with "I Can't Give You Anything But Love," she slows it down with two meaningful songs, "Guilty" and a classic from George and Ira Gershwin, "The Man I Love" featuring an ear-candy harmonica solo by Guido Basso. Then she does a sparkling rendition of "My Heart Belongs To Daddy," one of my favorites tracks.
The exceptional talents of the musicians involved in this recording cannot be left unnoticed -- Bill King and John Sheard (piano), Alan Hetherington (percussion), Marc Rogers and Artie Roth (bass), Davide DiRenzo (drums), Pat La Barbera (alto sax), Phil Dywer (tenor sax) and Guido Basso (harmonica), among others. I would say that Ms. Milman is a "musician's singer" for she displays a very good rapport with her back-up team, who all show a great interplay amongst themselves.
Listening to this CD is equivalent to having my favorite dessert -- every song is a sweet delight! So adorn your jazz collection with this elegant and irresistible CD. I will certainly recommend her sophomore CD, Make Someone Happy, which after its initial release hits the # 4 spot in the Billboard Jazz charts.

(Clever punchy British black comedy) 『Taking a cue from American ex-pat Patricia Highsmith's Strangers on a Train, playwright Alan Ayckbourn penned the plays on which Sweet Revenge was based, in whith two strangers each agree to bump off the person causing him/her the most misery in their respective lives.
Of course Ayckbourn can't duplicate what Highsmith had already brilliantly done, so he starts things off with both parties being suicidal (definitely NOT part of the Highsmith story), then moves in very different directions from Highsmith indeed.
Malcolm Mowbray, the talented director of this movie, (he also directed another punchy black comedy, but set in the States, Out Cold--with Teri Garr, John Lithgow and Randy Quaid--highly recommended), has done a great job deftly blending wry British humor with black comedy (very black, indeed) as well as romantic highjinks and some outright guffaws.
When you see sparrows blithely flying around a living room, part of a huge mansion in which the younger son rides his motor scooter on a regular basis and the older sister (one of the two parties involved in the revenge pact) changes her appearance in the blink of an artistocratic eye, you can tell there's a lot of fun to be had.
And there is. Highsmith's story has no comedy whatsoever, but Ayckbourn is a master of this mesh of comedy and biting stuff, and that comes across beautifully in this film version. The acting by the three leads (Sam Neill, Kristin Scott Thomas, and Helena Bonham Carter) is great, with the definite nod for scene stealer going to Ms. Carter, who seems capable of doing basically anything in front of a camera (see Fight Club and Twelfth Night for radically different and consistently excellent performances).

(An oh-so-black comedy) 『I purchased this because of the rave reviews on Amazon and because I loved Aykbourn's brilliant The Norman Conquests. But this film, while it has its moments, is a studiously black comedy that doesn't come off. It works too hard at being completely off the wall, and ultimately disappoints. It's just mayhem, designed to draw laughs. Well, it does, but only occasionally. (Imagine playing Count Basie at the expiration of a villain. That's Mel Brooks country.) Yes, Helena Bonham Carter is an excellent actress. But it's all so contrived, complete with a wink at the camera at the end. Save your money.』
(Strangers on a Bridge) 『As the story begins, Henry (Sam Neill) has lost his job to an unscrupulous co-worker, and has decided to end it all by jumping off Tower Bridge. There he meets eccentric Karen (Helena Bonham Carter) who has just bungled her own suicide attempt (her lover went back to his wife). They start talking about how much they wish their enemies were dead and Karen gleefully suggests they each do the job for the other. Henry assumes she's kidding, of course, but the next morning he finds Karen has gone ahead with the plan.
If you think this plot sounds a lot like Hitchcock's thriller, "Strangers on a Train," you're right. The difference is this one's played for big laughs with dark humor that I really enjoyed. Neill is very good as the innocent man who gets caught up in the wacky plot hatched by Bonham Carter's character. She steals the show with her outrageous cheekiness. Kristin Scott Thomas is the lover's haughty wife, and no one plays the disdainful aristocrat better than she does. Comic actor Steve Coogan is hysterical as Henry's nemesis. If you like British comedies, you'll love "Sweet Revenge;" it's fast, funny, and loaded with droll upper-class humor. Excellent!

(Some great moments, but ultimately lacking cohesion) 『I generally enjoy British comedies and prefer a good, thoughtful snicker over slapstick fun. When I watched this, I wanted to like it. And when I read the reviews after watching it, I'm really trying to like it. But I can't entirely agree with the other reviews...not because they're wrong, just my taste differs.
I feel like the movie had so many great elements (including as others have said some excellent acting) and could have been truly hilarious, but it just went a little off kilter somewhere and couldn't quite stay on track. Just as you warmed up to one element, something else would spoil the moment.
My initial reaction was "what a crazy movie!" Karen appears to be a complete maniac and Henry is extremely slow to catch on in some ways (i.e., he realizes Karen is quite dangerous from the start but doesn't seem to have any other way of dealing with her than really unitelligent honesty). The brother Oliver is great and there are a lot of small scenes that the film does quite well (when the kippers cause an embarassing stain, the way the young maid Norma is treated, etc).
But I disagree that Imogen was affected and arrogant. She responded to the view of Karen (her husband's former mistress) with the cold fury of someone attempting to maintain composure in the face of great strain. If a spouse brought me to an outing with their former "lover", I'd be pretty mad too. Her first comment to Henry is indicative of her frustration and she says it without thinking.
But how would anyone like Karen or Imogen find Anthony appealing? I found it farfetched how quickly Imogen fell for Henry and vice versa, upon their second meeting he tries to kiss her. And it seems unlikely that someone who suffered from frequent asthma would not carry their ventilator in their pocket (but maybe I am uninformed on this score).
Towards the end, it began lacking a feeling of cohesion and felt more like random funny moments appended to each other. The ending didn't feel like you arrived at a destination, more like it just stopped somewhere when we ran out of time and patched on a quick finish. Anyway, some people liked this so it's definitely got a following, just didn't appeal to me. This DVD has some funny parts and a lot of drama but with comedy mixed in it. It's not like One Tree Hill drama or BH 90210 but it's a worth a shot.』

I found this movie mean and boring. Very sad, because i am a big fan of books. They are interesting and kind. Each book teaches you a good lesson. You want to meet this twins-girls. You want to be their friend. And the movie is going the opposite direction. No wonder movie wasnt popular. And the first season was the last one.
One good thing- sisters are pretty in the movie too. Just admire their beauty!

(Decent Show) 『I remember being introduced to this drama-comedy sitcom by one of my younger cousins a couple years back. The two main characters being Elizabeth and Jessica Wakefield who are played by non-fictional twins Brittany and Cynthia Daniel. Francine Pascal created these books and the show is a loose based sitcom of it. I think the show does not set a realistic frame of life because most of the scenarios created to have a problem are all solved by the characters in less than ten minutes. It is just not this way in life and I wish the creators and directors would have taken the time to develop the characters, and thus make a better show. Buena Vista Home Entertainment did a poor job with copyrighting the DVD and did not take the time to put in any special features. I would like to know about what happens behind the scenes, cast interviews, or even a blooper reel and without these I can't give the show itself any better than a C-. If you are into a comedy-drama sitcom buy this DVD. (we are all Mom's children, just as she said we were...) 『Amazing Grace was the last movie that starred the incomparable Moms Mabley; she died only eight months after the release of this film. Amazing Grace gives us plenty of laughs, snappy dialogue and many, many scenes that allow Moms Mabley to strut her stuff and entertain us as no other comedienne ever could!
The action starts just after Grace (Moms Mabley) returns to Baltimore after a family reunion. She quickly finds out that her next door neighbor, who she barely knows because he's new to the neighborhood, is running for Mayor of Baltimore! With her platonic buddy Forthwith Wilson (Slappy White) she spies on her new neighbors, Welton Waters (Moses Gunn) and his wife Creola (Rosalind Cash). When Moms find out that the city's corrupt political machine is buying the election of Waters to use him as a paid pawn, Grace vows to take action!
Grace boldly spies even on the current mayor and helps gather damaging information on him and his machine to help Welton Waters rid himself of the political machine and run a clean campaign. As other reviewers have noted, Grace's campaign speech near the end of the movie is truly stirring. Moms Mabley outperforms even herself with this heartfelt speech encouraging younger people to fight for a better future.
Of course, it may well seem that I gave it all away--but rest assured I didn't. There are cameo roles for Butterfly McQueen and Stepin Fetchit that help to make the movie truly special. Moreover, questions still remain. Will Waters be able to win running on a totally clean platform? Will the political establishment try to block Waters even after they are exposed as crooks--and, if so, how will they fight back at Welton Waters? What about Grace and her buddy Forthwith Wilson? Will they ever become more than just friends? Watch the movie and find out!
The cinematography could have been better in a couple of scenes; at one point Forthwith is dancing in Grace's living room and his head is partially cut off the top of the screen! The choreography works well, however, in crowd scenes including the scene in which Grace gives her speech encouraging younger people to make a better world.
Hey, this may have been a low budget film but I scarcely noticed and I really didn't care. People watch this film because they want so much to see the wonderful performances of Moms Mabley, Slappy White, James Karen as an aide to the corrupt white establishment, Butterfly McQueen--and Stepin Fetchit in a role that WASN'T demeaning to African Americans.
I highly recommend this film for fans of the stars in this movie; and if you want light hearted comedy with a touch of social commentary then this is the movie for you!

(What more can you ask for?) 『I've just finished watching this DVD and I still have goose bumps. I own a lot of Joanie material, including TV performances from the early sixties but this here is the real deal. Pretty similar to the Dylan documentary "No direction home", we have material we didn't even know existed (an incredibly young Joanie singing "Barbara Allen" at the Club 47 in Cambridge in 1959 or 60 for instance) plus comments from the obvious companions such as Roger McGuinn and David Crosby as well as her former husband David Harris and their son Gabe. And then there's Dylan himself, finally acknowledging the influence Joan had on him and admitting that everybody, including himself, were trying to play guitar like her and sing her songs. We have Martin Luther King standing in front of the prison gates where Joanie was being kept for supporting draft resisters, voicing his support for her. She admits some things she appears to have never mentioned before, e.g. how she would stop in the middle of songs due to a sudden attack of stage fright and leave the stage only to reappear minutes later and pick up where she'd left off. And, she says, nobody ever talked to her about that, because they were all so sympathetic and didn't want her to feel embarrassed. It is so good to see that she has aged well and that her songs still move me. We see her sitting in the studio in the summer of 2008 with Steve Earle picking his acoustic guitar and Joan learning "God is God" and then he says "I wrote that one for you" and she is very moved. For viewers who are not familiar with the unreleased Dylan-Baez material the duets, most notably the carnival type Rolling Thunder Revue version of "I pity the poor immigrant" will open up a whole new world. The Dylan-Baez collaborations are so inspired and right on. Dylan himself says that they blended perfectly and he was sorry to see their relationship end. The DVD also has bonus tracks, interviews with fellow civil rights activists, with Steve Earle and Dar Williams, whose career didn't really take off until Joan took her on tour and recorded her songs. Toward the end everything gets very fast, we have three minutes of Joan in Sarajevo, three minutes about the death of her sister and their relationship, three minutes about Joan in Cambodia in the 1980s, maybe it would have been advisable not to try and pack almost seventy years into one hour and fifty minutes. (A disappointment) 『I am glad I won this book in a contest. Had I paid a trade paperback price for this, I would have been out of my mind with disappointment.
Gray Montgomery is a Dallas cop working undercover, and off the record, to avenge his partner's death on the job. Faith Malone is the office manager at Gray's new job, and her mother is the suspected killer's accomplice. Gray takes this job to get close to Faith to see if she's in cahoots with her mother.
While tapping her phones and invading her privacy illegally (how romantic) the two begin a flirtation. You see, Faith is looking for a dominant man to call all the shots in and out of bed and Gray is looking to do some shot calling. Slam dunk, right? Of course not. Naturally he has to fight his attraction. Why? I don't know. We're never really given a reason. So Faith goes after him. Wicked submissive of her, amirite?
To be fair, Gray does call Faith on her topping from the bottom, but the book gets no less silly. The mysteriously rich sex club owner Damon, on a short, professional acquaintance, offers his Galveston beach house for her solo use for a week (and sends her there via chauffeured Bentley) so she can think about her Gray dilemma. Uh-huh. Sure.
Right after she leaves, Gray's partner's father shows up in Houston all worked up about the suspected killer being nearby. Gray and the people her works with, aka the Cast of Future Heroes, hatch a plan to set a trap to catch the bad guy, who's after Faith to try to kidnap and ransom her. Gray is then sent to Galveston to "protect" Faith with the command from her father to not tell her about all this trouble (foreshadowing should be subtle, this screams INCOMING BIG MISUNDERSTANDING, no?)
What follows is some light D/s play, some backdoor action, a borderline creepy threesome with her friend Micah and enough showering to drain the Great Lakes. Banks' falls into the trap of telling rather than showing when she writes sex. There's a lot of play-by-play where she tells us what body parts are doing to other body parts, but a paucity of emotion and reaction. Gems include, "He continued to thrust against her until finally he stopped....Then he eased out of her body with a gentle pop." So. Not. Hot.
The conclusion to the suspense has gaping holes like a porn actress after a gang bang. What the hell was Mick on about by leading the bad guy to Galveston? Why was he so mean to Faith? Did the bad guy actually kill Gray's partner? Why was Gray unarmed? Why did bad guy leave Faith where she could escape? Why would Faith believe an armed madman's word over Gray's and who the hell asks questions of an armed madman? Surely her relationship drama could've waited.
All told, this book was a chore to read. The secondary characters were woefully underdeveloped, the D/s rather vanilla, the sex tepid and the prose dry. It was a disappointment, as I enjoyed the Samhain books of hers that I read. I doubt I'll read book two, unless I win a copy of that as well.』

It wasn't just all thrown at you instantly and the author really took her time to develop the characters and their sexual relationship.
