(A great game to buy.) 『This is a great game to play alone or with friends and families. It opens the mind and talking with family members. It a breaking tool to talk. I am even writing this review on our WII game console. Just a note for use older players you have to DUMB YOURSELF DOWN to play this great game. You'll be at aw of some of the answers. This game comes highly suggested from me and my family. Buy it you will be glad you did.』
(Don't care for the show but love playing the game on Wii) 『Game arrived earlier than promised and in great shape. This game is a lot of fun and is something the whole family can play together. I have a 16 yr. old daughter and I wasn't sure she would even play it let alone enjoy it, but she does! I wanted something the entire family could all play and this is it. A lot of fun and well worth the price. It gets a little harder the futher along you play and lets you unlock wardrobe accessories as you win against other families. The graphics are pretty good and it doesn't make you wait long between matches. Over all, a great family game.』

Usually ships in 24 hours Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (30 Bucks Worth of Meh) 『Got the cables. I thought they would improve the picture. If they do, it is so slight it's nearly unnoticable. I have a brand-new Sony 52XBR9 which has a fantastic output, so if there was a difference I would see it, and I'm picky as heck (why else would I buy the cables?)
These cables, in my honest opinion, are not worth it. The cables that came with your Wii will do just fine. Promise.』
(Wii Component for 480p ... wish it was HD.) 『The component cables from Nintendo perform fairly well. The cables are pretty thick and you can notice a difference in visual quality if you know what to look for. Some people who can't tell the difference between LCD and Plasma might not be able to tell the difference between 480i and 480p and for those people, I say stick to what you have. For everyone else, it does improve the quality of graphics on an HDTV that accepts 480p. I did have a little trouble at first since the colors were all off, but I discovered that the cable wasn't inserted completely in the back of the Wii. It's fine now, butit seems like the old cable fit a tad bit better, but not a real issue.
It is not the same as going from 480i to HD (720p, 1080i, 1080p) for obvious reasons, so don't expect to be blown away. The main reason I got these cables was because when I switched from a standard def 32" CRT to a 50" HD Plasma, the lowered quality of the 480i was evident (this is also true for 480i television programming). This cable helps with getting back the quality I lost and then some.
While playing "New Super Mario Bros." on the Wii with these components, I still notice lines around the game characters which disappointed me, but what can I expect out of a non-HD system? Even though Nintendo execs say that we (the consumers) don't want HD (given the amount of Wii sales, mostly by casual gamers), I say that we (the hardcore gamers) definitely prefer it and wish that Nintendo released at least a 720p version (prefer 1080p) of the Wii within the next year or two.
But this is about the Wii component cables. It works. There is a difference if you know what to look for and if you have your Wii changed to 480p and set to widescreen under the Settings menu. Also, the audio and video cables are close to each other (as others have noted), so you won't really be able to put the video cables to your TV and the audio cables to your receiver. I have the component cables connected to my TV and an optical cable from the TV to my receiver to get the sound.
PLEASE NOTE: Not all Wii games support 480p. Not all Wii games support widescreen. Not all TVs support 480p (even if they have component inputs). If you can't tell the difference between 480i and 480p, then it's either your Wii isn't set up correctly, your game doesn't support 480p, your TV doesn't support it or isn't set up correctly, or you just are unable to tell the difference ... in which case it doesn't matter what cables you own.』
(great cable) 『This cable works like a charm. Just remember to change the settings on the Wii and on your TV so that the widescreen is displayed properly.』
(Get the most out of your Wii) 『If you have the cash and you want to get the most out of your Wii then feel free to purchase these cables. Overall its a good product and would recommend this if you have a HDtv and mostly play your Wii.』
(Better Colors and Sharper Resolution, but NOT Perfect) 『Component Cables are Red/Blue/Green = Video; White/Red = Audio Standard AV Cables are Yellow = Video; White/Red = Audio
When using the Component Cables I noticed an immediate difference in the brightness, color and resolution of multiple Wii games. It isn't quite the difference between something like Standard AV to HDMI with a system such as the PS3 or Xbox360, but enough that it will make games more enjoyable. Backgrounds include more noticeable detail, a wider variety of colors and hues, and sharper contrasts between onscreen images.
HOWEVER, I have also noticed that when using Component cables many games (but not all) have slight horizontal lines across the screen that are NOT present with the Standard Wii AV cable. Does anyone else notice the same problem? At first I thought it was an issue with my individual Wii, so I contacted Nintendo. They didn't know what I was talking about and offered no explanation. I thereafter conducted a series of tests with multiple games and alternating between component cables (on EDTV 480p) and the regular AV (standard 480i).
Please note that to switch between the progressive and interlaced resolutions, you must switch the Wii Menu settings. 480i is the setting for standard definition using AV cables and 480p is the "enhanced" resolution using the Wii component cables for an EDTV or HDTV. The Wii does not support an actual HD setting, just "enhanced." This was the precursor to HD resolutions (between HD and Standard).
Hopefully I haven't lost you yet. I read one review that says that it is difficult to turn on the system and access the menu when you switch out the cables. That isn't true. When you change cables, just turn the system off and then back on. The system will start and display the menu regardless of what cable you have in. If you have standard AV cables, it will just put itself back into 480i (interlaced) standard display. If you have component, it will leave itself in 480i unless you have switched it to 480p (progressive). Once you have switched it to progressive it will stay there until you switch out the Component cables or manually turn the setting back to Standard 480i.
I found that Smash Bros., Metroid Collection, Okami, Mario Kart, Zack and Wiki and Warioware had absolutely perfect resolution without horizontal lines using both cords on both settings. Therefore the component cable was better due to slightly enhanced definition and color. However, on Zelda: Twilight Princess, Link's Crossbow, Tiger Woods Golf 2010 and New Super Mario Bros. I noticed the faint horizontal lines only when using component cables. It is mildly distracting, but the images and colors are still much better than standard cables. On a few games such as Dead Space: Extraction, I noticed the horizontal lines no matter which cables I used. However, the picture was much more difficult to see in darker areas using the standard AV cables. There is nothing wrong with the cable. When I first noticed the issue I returned my Official Nintendo Component Cable and bought the Monster Cable (I thought it was a shielding issue at first). However, I had all of the exact same problems and experienced all of the exact same results. After once again contacting Nintendo I was told that if I continued to use the Monster Cable and experienced any type of problem with the Wii itself, I would void all warranty because I was using a third party cable. I sold the Monster Cable and repurchased the Official Nintendo cable. I experienced the exact same results once again. Therefore, the problem does not lie within the cable. In addition, because some of the games look perfect (Okami/Smash Bros) when using the component cables, I do not believe there is anything wrong with my Wii system. I have the Wii connected to a Sony Bravia XBR4 32" 1080p HDTV. Anyone able to guess what the problem is? Anyone else see these same lines appear on the screen? If it was my TV, I don't understand why I only see it on some games and not all of them. My only conclusion is that some games were not designed to be used with a component cable connection, even though I do not really understand how apparent interlacing issues would present themselves when using one type of cable from another.
So overall, the Official Nintendo Component Cable will definitely give you better colors and sharper contrasts. However, it comes at a cost in that some games "may" have faint horizontal lines in the background. It seems pretty hit or miss on which games have the problem. Okami had no problems, Dead Space: Extraction had problems with both cables, and Zelda: Twilight Princess only had the problem with the Component Cable. One might ask, if you don't see the lines on as many games when using the regular cables...why even bother using the component cables? The truth is that even with the lines on some games you will notice many many more details and better visuals using the Component Cables. It would be too much of a hassle to switch out the cord between different games. So is it worth the $20-25? I'd say yes. Go with Official Nintendo brand to keep your warranty. However, be aware that this is far from perfect.
I am pretty shocked to see nobody has mentioned the issue with horizontal lines anywhere at all. Any help or comments would be appreciated.』 『The Wii Component Cable links your Wii console to your TV, allowing you to view and enjoy your games with the best possible image display. Component video splits the signal into three separate channels of video information for the ultimate connection quality. The cable includes five connectors - three for video, and two for left and right stereo audio.』

Usually ships in 24 hours Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Square Enix tries something bold and new, and it succeeds with some hiccups.) 『I bought this game back in December but haven't had a chance to play it until this February. After this entire wait, I beat the entire game in a weekend. Was it a bit short? Not really. Did it sacrifice gameplay for graphics by being so short? Not really. Was it still fun despite being so short? Yes, it was. Square Enix has decided to take the Crystal Chronicle series into a bold new direction. It still keeps the live action combat where there are no RPG 'turns' involved when fighting enemies, but puts a spin on it by giving the protagonist abilities that can levitate, throw and destroy various objects and enemies. It can be a chore if you simply do the same thing over and over again, like throwing enemies around like ragdolls. But if you are inventive and you try to do different combinations, the combat system can be somewhat deep. For example, what would happen if I pick up this enemy and toss it in the water? What about against that wall? What if I throw it at that enemy or when that enemy is electrified? What if I throw this object at that enemy, what will it do? There are a variety of options to use when battling and it makes it all the more enjoyable because of it. On that note, the creative enemy designs make for some interesting battles, figuring out how they work and how various aspects of an enemy react to other of its kin or to different enemies. Great kudos to Square Enix for making inventive enemy designs which lead to multiple medals for being creative with them while battling. Story wise, its excellent. The game moves at a breakneck speed and unless you force yourself to stop and slow down and explore the (literally) hundreds of sidequests out there, you could be at the end of the game before you know it! The story paces itself well and gives you all the answers you need without any real plot holes or gaps to fill. All questions are answered and it ends on a somewhat satisfying note. The characters are also well developed in terms of characterization. The only true character arc though, is Layle. He goes from someone who just doesn't care about anything and only wants to get paid for the job he's doing to someone who can really fight for a cause and keep a promise to a friend who has passed away. (no spoiling who though!)So in terms of presentation of the story, its quality stuff and sometimes almost felt like I was watching an animated movie. It was that engaging. Now the extra stuff: There are literally hundreds of things to do in this game. Almost 90% of it isn't even required to beat the game! There are exactly 330 medals to acquire (acheivements if you will) and almost half of them can be upgrade from Bronze to Silver to Gold. Which extends replayability by an insane amount. I highly doubt anyone can get all 330 gold medals without some bit of frustration. Regardless, the variety of things, sidequests and mini-games you can do is vast and it really is fun to have the option to go back and replay various bosses and mini-games to get better scores or to go after elusive medals that you didn't get the first time around. So if you simply force yourself to stop and look around, there are tons of things for you to do inbetween story segments, you just have to be creative in looking for them. On a side note, the customization and accessory aspect of the game isn't a big part of the overall experience as I'm sure the creators wanted it to be. But it works and its simple to understand and use. However, for those looking to acquire all 330 medals, getting the right materials to make the best equipment becomes paramount because only the highest stats that Layle can acheive will be sufficient to nail some of those tougher medals. Overall, I actually enjoyed this game. I didn't have any high expectations for it with relation to anything else with the 'Final Fantasy' moniker, but I was expecting a quality action adventure game and that is exactly what I received. I applaud Square Enix for taking such a bold move with one of their more popular franchises, and pulling off such an engaging game with gusto. It truly seems they had fun making this product and I heartily recommend this game to anyone with an open mind for fun and creativity. 』
(Best Crystal Chronicle Game Yet) 『Having played all of the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles games this is by far the best one. What this game does right is distinguish itself more from the regular Final Fantasy titles and the other crystal chronicle games. The story could use a little work to help flush out a lot of questions. The game is more of an adventure game than an RPG but that is part of the charm.
This game does have its issues but overall a worthwhile purchase.』
(One of the Worst Final Fantasy Games to Date) 『This is as bad as Final Fantasy has ever been. Filled with uninspiring stereotypes, rancid gameplay, and THE worst map I have ever encountered in a game, Crystal Bearers just plain out sucks. I knew going into the purchase not to expect the average FF works, but I certainly wasn't expecting something this... lackluster.
First off, the main action waggle is just ridiculous. You highlight characters or objects to pick them up telepathically but why you preform the desired movement (swinging the remote upward), it instead knocks the being/item to the ground. If you were trying to pick up a citizen, for instance, you'll be more likely to tick them off, essentially bringing the idiotic security guards down upon you. You have to preform the movement twice in order to actually lift them off the ground.
Secondly, the map you have to figure out where you're going is stupid. There is no detail in it whatsoever; it's a picture of the landscape with an cursor on it. Just one place it points to usually has 3 or 4 subareas within it so if you wanted to find a certain person in a certain area, you would have to guess what direction to go. For instance, the main city holds within it the plaza, a library, Cid's workshop, an airdock, and a "soccer" field, amongst other destinations... But you wouldn't know that by looking at the map, nor would you know the layout of it all.
The game also is contradictory of itself. The main character can basically fly around and move to all sorts of heights with his powers, yet you won't be able to reach certain points in the game with them. You'll come across treasure chests high up on perches throughout the title, but can't reach them without finding the specific way to get there. That's after you just got done flying up to a hovering platform three times as high as that cliff but somehow you can't manage the "great distance" of that leap.
The AI is busted, too. The guards, in particular the ones in the air dock within the city, will run headlong into walls and will not deviate from their paths for anything. You're a wanted criminal within the first 15 minutes or so of the game, but you can walk straight up to them as they bash their heads against the wall and they won't do jack. There are also places where you can't get out of the water, even when the ground is seemingly inclined enough for you to do so. Again, this is a guy who can more or less fly, but he can't manage to pick himself up out of the shallow water, even when the ground is at an appropriate angle/level to do so.
I could go on and on about how much this game fails, but it'd be even more redundant to do so than this game. Don't waste your time on this poorly made knock off and stick to the tried-and-true FF titles coming from Square-Enix.』
(When Good Games Go Bland) 『The graphics are quite good. It's fun to be able to pick things up and throw them around the screen. The live-action combat (instead of turn-based combat of previous titles) is OK. Nothing about this game is really bad. However, it feels like the creators of this game took too many good ideas and tried to squash them all into a single title, thereby not leaving themselves enough time to get things done quite right. The whole game feels rushed, from the mini-games which have no affect whatsoever on the outcome of the game, the actions you take in the game and even the combat system, even the story line. It's all there, it all works, but there's no pop, no sizzle, and no excitement. Death offers no consequence, there are no options for making a character "your own." Quite frankly, the game is mostly just... Blah. Playable, entertaining for a short while, worth about half of what you'll pay retail.
Suggestion: hold out in hopes of a much better, closer-to-original Final Fantasy title in the future. Maybe Square Enix will take a step back from this release next time and make something that has all the pizazz and fun and gameplay excitement of previous releases.』
(An Innovative Approach to Final Fantasy) 『For those not familiar with Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles, it is a spin-off series from Final Fantasy set in its own unique world. Unlike the core series, Crystal Chronicles allows players to see the evolution of the world over time.
The Crystal Bearers holds true to the world established in the previous Crystal Chronicles games, showing us the world of the Clavat, Yukes, Selkies, and Lilties on the verge of an industrial revolution. The Yukes have been all but wiped out in a war with the Lilties. The Selkies and the Lilties now have a closer relationship than in the past, though it is very much a class-based relationship dominated by the Lilties. The Clavat continue to be farmers and pilgrims, but see to have a relatively minor role in the game beyond being the race of the main character, Layle.
From a story standpoint, The Crystal Bearers does an excellent job of presenting a variation on a story similar to ones you've heard before. Visually, the game does an excellent job with the Wii's capabilities, though it sometimes lags a bit when there's too much going on at once - notably when riding the shuttles around the capital.
The technical aspects of this game are where it shines and where its flaws lie. If you experienced the early frustration of adapting to the controls of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, be prepared to experience it again. The Crystal Bearers makes excellent use of the Wii remote to provide a distinct playstyle for the game that is at once stress relieving and stress inducing. Need to let off steam? Find an area with low level monsters or lots of breakable objects and let them fly, but you may want to take the time to practice some of the techniques that trigger various medals because you'll need those techniques later in the game and there won't be time to learn them then.
The game rewards completionists rather than advancing the story. If you fail to clear too many areas of monsters, you'll find that you don't have and can't make the accessories needed to defend yourself against stronger enemies. Still, a careful and patient player can manage and the game is kind enough to save automatically every time you change zones.』 『Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers』
