At my other home, which is a small condo out west, I have had a Dyson Canister Vacuum for about four years which I like very much. This vacumm works as well if not better for a lot less money. The only other difference is the Hoover needs a little more room than the Dyson to store it.』

It helps considerably, but they still work loose after several uses. Beats every time you get it out though. Want to give it try yourself, here's what to do (for you mechanics in the audience pardon the oversimplification). You need four (4) @ brass or stainless steel (so they won't rust) lock + flat washers. Also, be sure to get the kind of lock washer that has the teeth on the INSIDE because there isn't much play around the screw holes. I think the size is 10/24, but take along one of the screws (in a baggie so it won't get lost) to a real hardware store that has the rows of boxes with all the little doo-dads in them. Not likely to be had at a Home Depot or Lowe's plus you'd waste valuable shoe leather. Ask one of the folks hanging around the front counter for help or else - while you may find wonderful things you didn't know existed - you can spend a lot of time rummaging thru all those tiny boxes. Also, be sure to check each washer (should be 8 total) against the leg screw since not everyone is as careful as you to get things back in the correct slot. The heads of the leg screws are slotted to accept either kind of screwdriver, flat or Phillips, but you will need a small size. Consider this during your hardware store experience if you don't already own one. When installing the washers, the flat one goes in first, right against the plastic, then the toothed washer, then the screw. Be careful to start the screw in straight so as not to strip out the threads in the plastic. If after just one or two revolutions, the screw starts to get harder to turn, its maybe not going in straight. Back it out and try again. If you've turned it several times and the screwdriver then encounters resistance STOP, again to avoid that stripping thing. Then carefully tighten just a smidgen more, like 1/8 turn. Or as they say in the trade, Do Not Overtightened. Repeat four times and that's it. I considered using Loc Tite but the diameter is smaller than spec. At 7 or 8 bucks for a tiny can I didn't want to see if it worked outside prescribed limits. Maybe some of you mechanics can give it a try and report back to the less adventurous among us. One could epoxy the dad gum things in, but if the leg assembly needed replacement, your screwed. Ouch.』

She later established a successful solo career, mainly as a Christian music singer. Although she is less well known than her younger sister Enya, who is famous for Orinoco flow, this mellow Christmas offering confirms that Moya is a fine singer in her own right.
Moya contributed two excellent original songs here, but mainly contented herself with singing traditional songs. Not just any traditional songs, though, because Moya avoided most of the obvious choices. Silent night is included, but Moya chose to sing it in Gaelic. Among the other songs here, the most frequently recorded is probably Joy to the world. The two originals are I still believe (a song about missing somebody at Christmas) and Love came down at Christmas (a song about the birth of Jesus).
I was pleased to find great songs such as In the bleak midwinter, Carol of the bells, The Wexford carol, Deck the halls and In dulce jubilo all included. You'll find them all on other Christmas albums, but perhaps not as often as you might expect. God rest ye merry gentlemen, another Christmas classic, is easier to find but is by no means over-recorded.
If you are looking for a mellow Christmas album that avoids most of the really obvious songs while offering a reasonable degree of familiarity, this is definitely one to consider. 』

(The Voice of Ireland's Consummate Solo Outing.) 『No offense, but to heck with Enya. Big sis Moya has, and always has had, the better voice and the more down-to-earth image. I have been a fan of Clannad for 20 years now, and can safely say that this is the only one of Moya's solo projects that I absolutely love. This is coming from somebody who prefers their late 70s to late 80s work. That means fans of little sis, might just enjoy this collection of Yuletide tunes.
Moya's trademark vocals are here, but they are often quite dreamy sounding. Gentle, yet joyous, and with just enough Irish instrumentation not to turn off adult contemporary snobs (believe me, there is such a thing where I live), it is a very nice collection of holiday tunes for a small gathering or family. Her vocals are gorgeous as usual, and her treatment is especially lovely on "Deck the Halls," "In the Bleak Midwinter," and "In Dulci Jubilo." The only thing I have a slight problem with is her rendition of "Carol of the Bells," which I find to be a watered down version of Manheim Steamroller's. Still, this is a lovely collection I cannot imagine anyone finding fault with unless they refuse to budge from the more hardcore celtic sound Clannad have been known for. You need this cd for your Christmas celebration if you like your holiday music on the cheerful, mellow side with a little something extra. It's also great music in the car while you're doing your yuletide shopping.』

But then, I was driving my youngest home after her practice with the district honor Orchestra, where she plays various string and Bass instruments and ELO came on the radio and I turned it up and asked her to identify what she heard. She sat and listened and got a big smile on her face and started calling off the strings. "You can do that with rock music?" she asked. Evidently yes you can!
So I got this set for her to broaden up her view, and mine as well.

Jeff Lynne has done a remarkable job not only for his producing but also for his performance as well. I must confess that I had no idea who Jeff Lynne was until I realized that he was one of the members of the traveling wilburys. Since then, I've become a big fan of Jeff Lynne and ELO as a whole.

In 1996 he got his first chance with the Yankees and managed them to his first world title and the Yankees first since 1978 and their 23ed overall. Litle did he know thatafter losing to Clevelnad in the 1997 playoffs he would rattle off three more in a row. This year he has moved on to manage the Dodgers.
In 1996 the were a tough and scrapy team led by the rookie shortstop Derek Jeter, setup man Mariano Rivera and closer Joh Wettland. Paul O'Neill also played a big role in the Yankees success that year.』

My really bad dreams have always tended to be very boundless and unfathomable in nature. This film has that feel to it from frame one where you feel as if you have come across hell and what it actually might resemble, were such a thing to actually exist. This film comes from the depths of a human mind that is very in tune to the subconscious. As a result the film has a mythological and horrific truth to the imagery that would certainly illicit some sort of uncomfortable response form almost anyone. This is a film to be experienced. It falls in the horror genre but also has a mythological/fantasy feel to it.
While I could go into a huge multi-tiered review about the much alluded to meaning of this film, I'm not going to bother. I'd rather not take away from anyone's experience with my personal view. There are many other good reviews here that discuss this too.

(Rorschach on film) 『The Begotten is directed by E.Elias Merhige (Shadow of the Vampire). It is something that I imagine Rorschach would have made if he had directed movies. This film is image after image of high contrast depictions that read like solarized images, negative images, that seem to flip back and forth, becoming almost like an ink blot where the imagination begins to take over. Influenced by early black and white films like "Nosferatu" it refers to the dark side of imagination. What is begot is the birth of imagination in this primordial land of primitive fears.
This film comes as close to a visually abstract film as I have ever seen.』
(Strange, creepy, disturbing, unique and extremely intellegent...) 『I was lucky enough to get a copy of Begotten on DVD when it was still in print. The price is extremely high now, if you can even find a copy. This film is not for everyone. I would recommend it for those who appreciate unusual forms of art.』

Finally. I watched it. 3 times actually, within 24hours. Still this is a difficult film to describe. Begotten is simply an experience one must try to absorb.
It deals with the metaphysical. God-Nature-Life-Death. A distorted experiment that will no doubt cause mixed reactions. It's like stepping into another dimension. ___________________________________
When using the belief of God as a moral barometer, it's scary to think of the aftermath when that idea is completely annihilated. It might result in the stripping of the universal perspective on things, abolish any shred of hope, just vanquish all meaning and value in people's lives--just total anarchy.
That foreboding sense of gloom resonates throughout every inch of this mindbender. Right at the start, God slices himself with a razor. A bloody substance purges from his abdomen, and soon a spirit-like Mother Earth emerges from the disembowelment. This dizzying journey then ventures across a desolate landscape. There are demonic figures and some shadowy depictions of rape, torture, and cannibalism. Lots of powerful, alarming imagery that is somewhat indecipherable. Imagine looking at hell through a dirty glass ashtray. You can't always tell exactly what's going on, but you know it's not good. Powerful stuff.
This murky view was by no means an accident. There was some extremely tedious prep work during the production--the film was shot in B&W reversal and then rephotographed. You get a ragged copy of a copy. It gives a very hallucinogenic, surreal feel.
This look will most likely alienate many viewers (along with the violent subject matter). I liken this film to an ink blot test. Some will see absolutely nothing, while others will formulate distinctive ideas and conclusions. It's highly subjective.
There is no dialogue or not really much splatter gore here. Plus the sound is supremely odd--just distorted noises of nature (wind, water, birds, rustling leaves, heavy breathing). It all adds up to a mesmerizing, horrifying, bewildering, unique, and unforgettable ride. People are bound to take vastly different things from this experience. That's the beauty of art.

(Quite possibly the best experimental film of all time.) 『This movie is dark, scary, disturbing, symbolic, slow and beautiful. I had told people about this movie and very few of them had heard about it. it just so happend my guitar player had a copy of this film and gave it to me. When I saw it I was completley blown away. I can't really describe to you the plot of the movie because there really isn't one. It is just this big symbolic message captured in 78 minutes. The whole movie is filmed in grainy black and white which gives it more of an eerie, surreal feeling as if you were watching someone's nightmare. This movie is not nesecarily entertaining but yet you will keep staring at the screen for it's puzzeling meaning. The movie leaves you with questions which will all go unanswerd. This movie is not for everybody since it does have some very ghastly scenes in the movie. The first 10 minutes we see a robed feminist figure being God who is disembowling himself with a straight razor and blodd splatters all over the wall and room. There is Also Mother Earth who impregnates herself with God's sperm and gives birth to Son of Earth - Flesh On Bone. Within these 3 charachters you will see alot of suffering and there is even a rape scene of Mother Earth. This movie is probably in my top 5 or 10 of favorite films. This is definetly an experience to witness and once you watch it you will never forget what you just saw. I feel when I watched the movie I was greatly rewarded. In some scenes since it's all black and white and very grainy there are images on the screen which you can't quite make out what you are looking at and that is part of the beauty of the film. To me I see this movie as a riddle. Why does this happen. Some people might write this off as meaningless artsy fartsy trash but I believe Elias was trying to tell us something when he came up with this vision. This film is based on a near death experience he had when he was 19 so if this is what he saw while he was almost about to die or if this came to him after the experience it really makes me think. This movie get's compared alot to Eraserhead, another one of my favorites. if you thought Eraserhead was disturbing then you really need to experience Begotten since this is way different. there is absolutley no dialogue in the movie whih is a big plus. I feel if there was any dialogue it would ruin the film. I can't recomend this film to everyone but if you're into very surreal art films and can handle disturbing art then watch Begotten. But just for grins, I reinstalled the old filter and the light miraculously (or not so miraculously) turned green. Seems the light has little to do with the health of the filter and more to do with PUR trying to make it's quarterly sales number for replacement filters. Very disappointing.』

If you are extremely gentle with how you handle the unit, it will last a bit longer before leaking (that is, don't push on the unit to reposition faucet). The price is too high for the lack of quality. Get an under-sink unit and save yourself the hassle. I find that the unit gets in the way of filling large pots and pitchers in the sink and the bumping around contributes to the unit leaking. The filtered water is good and dispenses faster than I thought it would with our low water pressure.』

(Water Seems Pure, but the Hardware is Poor) 『I've been using these PUR water filter units for several years. I like the convenience and the quality of the water,but I'm getting very tired of the problems with the hardware itself. This turns out to be quite an expensive unit because the faucet mount has never lasted more than three filters for me.
Another issue is that the filters really don't last very long. In just a short time the "green" led will start to flash yellow and then red. I usually keep it on red for as long as possible to get as much out of it as I can. But the water flow will progressively lessen over time until a filter change is essential.
I've had leaky units that needed replacement. I've had units break right off the faucet because of a blast of water pressure when the faucet is first turned on. And my last unit had such a problem unscrewing the cap for filter replacement that I broke the unit off the faucet when trying to twist it. Another $40 down the drain.
Even with all of the replacements, it is probably still cheaper than bottled water, but not by much and I'm sure getting tired of having to buy another unit every 4-6 months. Usually the unit doesn't last much longer than the two filters included in the mount kits I buy.
Overall, I would give this product two stars (instead of one) because the water does seem purified through the 3 stage filter.』

(Good basic warning device) 『I almost bought the SC07CN combo alarm but got frustrated with all the extra bells and whistles that added complicated features like remote and voice. I believe the SC05CN is all a person needs to protect against carbon monoxide poisoning and smoldering type fires. A person should also have a detector that detects hot flaming fires like the ionization type detectors. I'm not aware of a single device that senses both types of fires and carbon monoxide so it seems a person would need at least two detectors to cover all three circumstances. I already had wired-in ionization smoke detectors, but added the CO/photoelectric combo to gain the additional coverage. Only an emergency will ultimately prove the value and performance of this device, but in the meantime I have a little peace of mind that I should be able to be warned of two types of fires and/or carbon monoxide.』

(Lousy; their customer service is even worse.) 『After a few months, it would do a triple-beep alarm three times, then stop. The triple beeps means the smoke detector detected smoke. It has done this a few times now, very annoying. There was certainly no smoke in the house; in fact, all of the windows were open. And why would it stop after three times? Shouldn't the smoke detector keep beeping?
I did the self-test on the alarm and all seems fine.
I called their so-called Customer Service number, as mentioned in the manual. After going through all of their voice mail prompts ("press 2 for this, press 4 for that..."), at the end all I got was a message that "we are currently in a staff meeting. Please call back after 3pm". But I was calling after 3pm! Not even a way to leave a message. And I'm fairly sure that they were referring to 3 pm CST, since that was the time zone mentioned in the manual.
I am disappointed in First Alert. Their lack of commitment towards customer service raises a red flag.』

(Survivor Series Anthology 92-96) 『We leave the era of Hogan and get stuck in 92, a year of change was in the air. The first Survivor Series abandon elimination matches and have a straight foward PPV with some debut of superstars that would dominate the 90's. There was one elimination match and that one sucked. The only real highlight was the Bret Hart-Shawn Michaels main event as it would be a pure classic. Survivor Series 93 would return to elimination style matches but the only worthwhile matches were the beginning and the end. I know some people hated the main event but I thought it was decent and it even had a count-out! How what more could you ask for a tribute? The rest of the Survivor Series in this set (94, 95, and 96) are pretty good overall. They also included the classic yellow WWF logo rather then the newer WWE logo. A must own set for old wrestling fans.』
(The "New Generation" Era Of Survivor Series) 『Well, after WWE has already released anthologies on their other 3 major events...it's time for the final one in their "Big Four" being the Survivor Series. This second volume is from the "New Generation" era of the event where WWE started to have a mix of regular matches as well combined with the traditional elimination matches. Now keep in mind that I'm doing my reviews from either the VHS version with the unedited event or a replay I caught off WWE Classics On Demand.
1992 - This Survivor Series went away from the traditional format of having a heavy focus on elimination matches and came off as a normal PPV during this time. This was one of those events where the main events were the highlights&saved the show. 5 years before they would have their infamous title match in Montreal, Bret Hart defended the WWE Championship against Shawn Michaels (who also happened to be the Intercontinental Champion) in a 30 min. lost classic while the other main event featured the inring return of Mr. Perfect teaming with Randy Savage against Ric Flair&Razor Ramon. The only elimination match on here was Jimmy Hart's former tag teams of Natural Disasters&Nasty Boys against Beverly Brothers&Hart's then-current team of Money Inc. however this was under the rules of "when one person is eliminated, his parter is eliminated too." The rest of the card featured the first ever Coffin/Casket Match with Undertaker vs. Kamala, the Nightstick Match between Big Boss Man&Nailz, an underrated match of Tatanaka vs. Rick Martel, Headshrinkers vs. High Energy, and Yokozuna squashing Virgil. This has a reputation of being one of the worst S. Series events as with the exception of the main events&the Tatanka/Martel match, the matches on here just weren't good in quality or were just a quick match (5 min. or less) to finish off the feud.
1993 - After the disaster reception the previous year's event had, WWE returned to the format they used in 1991 where the entire event, except for one match, was based around the traditional Survivor Series tag team elimination match. The main event here featured Lex Luger's team of the "All-Americans" against Yokozuna's "Foreign Fanatics" team where the highlight was the first time controntation between Undertaker&Yokozuna and the attempt at heavily pushing Ludvig Borga as a top heel (which anyone who knows their history didn't last long). This Survivor Series is mostly remembered for the match between the Hart Brothers of Bret&Owen&Bruce&Keith against 3 masked Knights&Shawn Michaels (last minute replacement for Jerry Lawler) and how that began the long term feud between Bret&Owen. Randy Savage also made his PPV return to the first in almost a year (replacing Mr. Perfect) teaming with Razor Ramon&Marty Jannetty&1-2-3 Kid against I.R.S.&Diesel&Rick Martel&Adam Bomb. The other elimination match featured Bam Bam Bigelow&Baston Booger&Headshrinkers in a quick match against Men On A Mission&Bushwhackers dressed up as Doink The Clown resulting in the crowd chanting "We Want Doink" during the match. The only non-elimination match on the card was a tag team match representing Jim Cornette's Smokey Mountain Wrestling promotion as their tag team champions of the Heavenly Bodies went against the Rock N' Roll Express but it should be noted that "Radio WWF's" commentary team of Jim Ross&Gorilla Monsoon did the commentary here&with this being Bobby Heenan's last WWE PPV until the end of WCW, his confrontation with Gorilla before the match was a highlight. In the end, this PPV was better than the previous year and did it's job for the most part in pushing&establishing the stories/feuds leading into not only the Royal Rumble but also WrestleMania.
1994 - This Survivor Series was built around the appearence of actor Chuck Norris as he was set to be the ringside enforcer for Casket Match with Undertaker vs. Yokozuna to ensure nobody else gets involved unlike how they did at the Royal Rumble earlier in the year. The other main event on here was a submission match between WWE Champion Bret Hart w/Davey Boy Smith in his corner vs. Mr. Bob Backlund w/Owen Hart in his corner with the twist in his match being that the only way to win is for the cornerman to throw in the towel for his representative and this was the best match Bob Backlund had during this run in WWE as Bret brought out the wrestling style Bob Backlund's remembered for back in the '70s&'80s with a very dramatic ending for that time. Speaking of Owen&Davey, they were also involved in the opening elimination match between the Shawn Michaels' "Teamsters" with vs. Razor Ramon's "Bad Guys" that was highlighted by the dominance of Diesel and the superkick that would begin the setup to a WrestleMania XI main event. Another elimination match on here (strickly for comedic purposes) was Jerry Lawler's "Royal Family" vs. Doink's "Clowns R' Us" which was each man teaming with 3 different midgets with the rules being it must be midget vs. midget/wrestler vs. wrestler at all times but if Lawler eliminated Doink then how could the match end if all of Lawler's midget teammates were eliminated since Lawler wasn't allowed to wrestle the midgets? The other elimination match on here was Lex Luger's "Guts&Glory" team of Mabel&Smokin' Gunns&Adam Bomb vs. the "Million $ Team" of Bam Bam Bigelow&Tatanka&King Kong Bundy&Heavenly Bodies.
1995 - Eventhough this was one of the worst years in WWE history as far as wrestling quality, storylines, and characters...this event started to pickup the pieces as the main event here was WWE Champion Diesel vs. Bret Hart in a No Holds Barred "Must Be A Winner" match that saw Bret Hart delivering one of Kevin Nash's best matches in his career as it was real physical&aggressive and also saw the beginning of a PPV tradition with Bret Hart going through the spanish announce table. This PPV also resulted in the first ever "Wild Card" match with the top faces&heels in the company were teamed together at random as Shawn Michaels&Sid&British Bulldog&newcomer Ahmed Johnson vs. Yokozuna&Owen Hart&Dean Douglas&Razor Ramon that resulted in things you wouldn't normally see at that time such as Razor helping Owen with a double team in the corner on Shawn along with British Bulldog saving HBK from a pinfall. The opening match featured the "Underdogs" of Marty Jannetty&Hakushi&Barry Horowitz&Bob Holly against the "Body Donnas" of Skip&Rad Radford&Tom Prichard&1-2-3 Kid who recently turned heel on Razor Ramon&alligned with Sid....which did come into play during this match. Other matches on here featured Goldust vs. Bam Bam Bigelow, and 8 woman elimination match highlighted for it being the final WWE appearence of Alundra Blayze before she went to WCW&threw the WWE Womens Championship in a trash can a month later, and the return of the Undertaker in a dominant performance as part of the "Darkside" with Savio Vega&Fatu&Henry Godwinn vs. King Mabel's "Royals" of Jerry Lawler&Isaac Yankem&Hunter Hearst-Helmsley.
1996 - The first Survivor Series in WWE's "home" of Madison Square Garden that featured various returns&debuts...some more memorable than others. The WWE Championship saw Shawn Michaels defend the title against Sycho Sid in a match that's more memorable for how the MSG crowd completely turned against Shawn&cheered Sid. The other main event saw the return of Bret Hart against the man who called him out for months in "Stone Cold" Steve Austin in a 30 min. lost classic that's always been overshadowed by their later WrestleMania 13 match. Another elimination match on the card saw Crush&Jerry Lawler&Hunter Hearst-Helmsley&Goldust vs. Marc Mero&Jake Roberts&Barry Windham as "The Stalker"&the WWE debut of a young kid named Rocky Maivia...who would later become more famously known as The Rock. Other matches include the Undertaker debuting a new look vs. Mankind, another elimination match between Faarooq (debuting the Nation Of Domination)&Vader&the non-Scott Hall/Kevin Nash versions of Razor Ramon&Diesel vs. the debuting Flash Funk&Yokozuna&Savio Vega&the MSG return of "Superly" Jimmy Snuka that's only noteworthy for it being the final WWE PPV appearence of Yokozuna, and the WWE debuts of a new tag team in Doug Furnas&Phil Lafond teaming with the Godwinns against Owen Hart&British Bulldog&The New Rockers.
So in the end, this was a real "mixed bag" as these series had some bad matches in quality, others more focused to "putting over a storyline" or showcasing/putting over one person as a dominate performer, and you did have some lost classics&memorable performances so this is still a set I would recommend overall. However if your more of a fan of the traditional Survivor Series elimination matches (similar to a fan of the Royal Rumble PPV's are fans of the battle royal match) then I would recommend getting Volume 1 first.』
(Starts Weak, but Gets Better&Better) 『At long last, the "Survivor Series" Anthology is going to be released on DVD. Like the "Royal Rumble", "WrestleMania", and "SummerSlam" sets, this annual November event has its share of ups and downs.
I have a tendency to ramble, so here's the short version: Volume 2 of the "Survivor Series" Anthology has some good stuff, but I would buy it at a lower price than advertised. I think the 1992&1993 events have a couple great matches, while the 1994-1996 editions are worth adding to your collection.
...Still reading?...Alright then, hopefully this long review will help you out, or at least give you some debate ammunition.
___________________________________________________________ *****1992***** ---This event isn't mentioned very often, mainly because of what people don't like about it, rather than what's good about. To be sure, there are a lot of problems with it. Owen Hart only gets a few minutes in the opening tag team match. Undertaker and Kamala had a pretty boring Coffin Match. Tatanka and Rick Martel had a decent match that was slightly overshadowed by Doink The Clown's ringside antics.
But this event has two very good matches that I feel are often forgotten. One of the semi main events featured Ric Flair and Razor Ramon (led by Bobby Heenan) against Randy Savage and Mr. Perfect. In a quick but solid booking recovery move, Mr. Perfect was a last minute replacement for Ultimate Warrior. I thought Heenan and Curt Henning did a great job of making Perfect a good guy. Besides, the two-on-two match was exciting stuff, and surely much better than what Warrior would've brought to the table.
The main event pits IC champion Shawn Michaels against WWF champion Bret Hart in another great showing between these two. Both guys made each other look like a million bucks, and I believe this match further solidified Bret Hart as a "fighting champion" rather than an "entertainer".
This 1992 event isn't very good, but it does have a couple of great matches on it. ___________________________________________________________
*****1993***** ---If you can believe it, the 1993 event was probably the worst to date. After a solid opening Elimination Match that includes Randy Savage, Razor Ramon, IRS, Diesel, Rick Martel, 1-2-3 Kid, Marty Jannetty, and...Adam Bomb (groans)...we are treated to one of the most surprisingly bad matches I've ever seen. Would you believe that a 4-on-4 Elimination Match pitting Shawn Michaels and three "Knights" against Bret, Owen, Bruce,&Keith Hart would be boring? I can't believe it, but other than a few neat exchanges and the birth of one of my favorite feuds (Bret&Owen), this match was dull.
The main event is even worse, with Lex Luger's All-American team (Undertaker weeks earlier revealed his trench coat had an American flag inside - LOL!) against Yokozuna's team of Ludvig Borga, Jacques Rougeau, and Crush?! Oh dear Lord, what have we here? You know, let's just move on. Other than a very good contest between The Heavenly Bodies and The Rock N Roll Express for the Smoky Mountain Wrestling Tag Titles --- which I don't understand why they're on WWF anyway --- just flush the 1993 SURVIVOR SERIES right down the toilet. ___________________________________________________________
*****1994***** ---This event is a breath of fresh air compared to the few before it, mainly because there's a lot going on in it. The opening Elimination Match showcases the Razor/Diesel/HBK triangular feud that ultimately led to Diesel and HBK finally splitting up soon after this match. Also, throw in a neat grudge between British Bulldog against Owen Hart&Jim Neidhart from opposing teams.
From there, a stupid but funny Elimination Match has Doink and three midget clowns against Jerry Lawler and three midget "knights". The funniest moment has got to be when Doink lifts a smaller clown, while Lawler has a smaller knight lift HIM into the air for a piggyback duel of sorts. Anyway, I thought it was kinda funny.
But after that is a classic that I'm glad will get to be on DVD finally: Bob Backlund challenges Bret Hart to a Submission Match for the WWF Championship. The twist is that the match won't officially end until either corner man (Owen Hart and British Bulldog) will throw in a towel to surrender for their wrestler. I won't give away the dramatic finish, but I promise that this match is much better than their "WrestleMania XI" rematch.
After a passable Elimination Match between The Million Dollar Man's team and Lex Luger's random combo of five good guys, the main event is another rematch. Yokozuna squares off against Undertaker in their second Casket Match of 1994, with Chuck Norris as a Special Enforcer. The main event isn't too bad, but I prefer the "Royal Rumble" encounter over this. I think Norris was an amusing addition, especially when he kicks Jeff Jarrett. Didn't Jarrett know not to mess with man so fast that he could run around the world and punch himself in the back of the head? (Sorry, couldn't resist) ___________________________________________________________
*****1995***** ---I don't think this one was too bad, considering the WWF didn't have a decent PPV since the January "Royal Rumble". The opener features "Underdogs" versus "Body Donnas", which was a fun Elimination Match to start the show, and a nice way to see underrated wrestlers from both teams get to shine. The angle where 1-2-3 Kid turned his back on Razor Ramon is pretty aggressive considering it's WWF.
The second match is a remarkable 4-on-4 Women's Elimination Match; I wish WWE would dig deeper into its women's division history, showing the likes of Alundra Blayze or The Glamour Girls. There is an Elimination Match where Undertaker leads "The Dark Side" against the likes of King Mabel and Hunter Hearst Helmsley in a disappointing but tolerable display.
The last Elimination Match is a strange combination of good guys and bad guys mixed within teams. Even weirder is seeing one teammate help an opponent gang up on another opponent. It kind of makes the viewer confused sometimes, but thankfully the action (involving Shawn Michaels, British Bulldog, Owen Hart, and Razor Ramon) is good enough that you just don't care.
You probably already know about the main event, where Bret Hart challenged Diesel for the WWF Championship in a No Holds Barred Match. But in case you don't, it's easily my favorite match of Diesel's, and is a must see if you don't already own Bret Hart's 3-disc set from WWE.
1995 was a long, painful road for the World Wrestling Federation. But this event bought the company just enough time for their solid 1996 year, which of course led to the Attitude Era in the years to come. ___________________________________________________________
*****1996***** ---This Madison Square Garden PPV was the first "Survivor Series" I ever saw. Undertaker and Mankind continued their legendary rivalry with Paul Bearer suspended in a cage above the ring; the match was good, as always. Steve Austin and Bret Hart finally squared off in a solid contest; I don't love this match as much as their Submission Match, but many have called this its equal.
Rocky Maivia made his "debut" in an entertaining 4-on-4 Elimination Match. Even better was the opening Elimination Match that showcased Owen Hart, British Bulldog, and the forgotten Doug Furnas&Phil Lafon; easily the best of the traditional Elimination Matches on this card.
And of course, the main event was the first I remember where we cheered for bad guy Sycho Sid to dethrone good guy Shawn Michaels of his WWF Championship. I was still bitter over HBK winning the belt from Bret Hart that I just needed someone to shut this pretty boy up, and watching Sid using everything to hurt Michaels (and manager Jose Lothario) was awesome. The match itself holds up very well, eclipsing their "Royal Rumble '97" rematch by a longshot.
Oh one more thing...I dare you not to laugh when Jim Ross pushes "Diesel" and "Razor Ramon" when they enter the arena...I dare you!
The 1996 "Survivor Series" is probably my favorite on this set. ___________________________________________________________
There's nothing really bad about Volume 2. But I have to admit my 4-star rating is a bit generous. Each of the 5 events has a couple great matches. But there's also a lot of forgettable content.
1992 has a couple great matches, but the WWF's gimmick characters really take you out of the moment. 1993 has a kickin' Tag Titles contest, while the rest is best left for history books. The 1994, 1995, and 1996 are solid cards overall. Even though a few matches have already been released on other WWE DVDs, the events are still well worth you time.

I've tried Brauns, Norelcos, and even a Grundig shaver over the years, but Panasonic seems to be the best - for me at least. I have sensitive skin, so shaving in the shower works best to keep the blades cool and delivers an irritation free, very close shave (try this shaver in combination with a little Billy Jealousy Hydroplane Shaving Cream for a truly close, irritation free shave). I would say an even better shave than the Gillette Fusion because I experience absolutely no minor cuts or irritation when using the Panasonic. (I only use the Gillette when I forget to charge my shaver!)
Like I said, I purchased this shaver this past May, and five months later the LCD began displaying unintelligible readings. Then the shaver just died - it wouldn't turn on. I've never had that sort of problem with my Panasonics in the past, and since it was still well within the 2 year warranty, I contacted Panasonic by phone. I was instructed to ship the shaver to their service center in Texas. About 2 weeks later, I received a new replacement shaver in the mail, and get this, Panasonic sent me a brand spankin' new model ES8249K - the Arc 4 Nanotech shaver with the Vortex cleaning system. I was a little annoyed by the turn around time, but it was obviously worth the wait! The ES8249K shaves exactly the same as the 8243A - it's the same shaver but just can be used in the Vortex, whereas the 8243A can't. Thanks Panasonic for your awesome shaving product and awesome customer support! You've got a loyal customer in me, and like Ahhnold in The Terminator, "I'll be baaaack" when it's time to purchase my next shaver! :-)』

(Best shaver, period. What more could I ask for?) 『This shaver is amazing. I used to shave with a Mach 3, and then the mid-range Panasonic ES7056 (which was quite good). My beard is *so* coarse, thick, and fast-growing that I would cut myself several times per shave with the Mach 3 (and yes, I do know how to use it properly). I then switched to the Panasonic ES7056 which gave me a decent shave without the cuts. Unfortunately, that broke after two years of use and I upgraded to shaver that I'm reviewing now (the Panasonic ES8243A Arc IV). There is a definite difference between my old Panasonic and this one. If my old Panasonic was good, this new one is hands down better, with the razor making short work of my very coarse hair. The four blades do not appear to be a gimmick--I definitely feel like I am able to shave more quickly with this razor. My old Panasonic razor came with a one year warranty. I am glad to see that this one comes with a two year warranty on battery and razor considering that my last Panasonic electric razor broke just before the two year mark.
Pros: Probably the best shaver available, waterproof (can use in the shower, which I do regularly), very easy to clean (don't bother getting the more expensive version with the cleaning station...it cleans itself), two year warranty. This is a no fuss razor that does its job and does it VERY well.
Cons: There are a couple small spots on my neck that I still have to go over multiple times in order to get everything (this has been a problem with every razor that I've owned in the past)...although, this problem is much improved with this new Panasonic (I guess no electric is perfect) , replacement blades / foil is expensive (they're around $40, I can't comment yet on how long the foil will last but if it's anything like my last Panasonic, it should go at least a year), at over $100, it's not cheap (but it is worth-it).
Final thoughts: if you have a beard that is thick and/or tough to shave, I can't recommend this razor highly enough. It's not cheap, but if shaving with a non-electric razor causes many painful cuts (like they do for me), this electric gives a fantastic shave without the pain and embarrassment and for me has been money well spent. Note that if you're used to non-electric razors, it will take at least a few days and possibly a couple weeks for your face to adjust and for you to get the most out of this razor.』

(It Works!) 『I have two dogs, one a 14 year old dalmatian with a bad bladder, so keeping the carpet clean is an endless chore in my house. For the past few years I'd just been using spray foam carpet cleaners and I knew they didn't do much. (Big Readout.....Second Of Two Omron Units) 『I own an Omron wrist style BP monitor that I have already left an excellent review for. I decided to supplement my other monitor with this model, for even though I have been vigorously exercising for the last year my BP readings have continued to be rather erratic lately. And I decided that I would enjoy having a built in second opinion in the house. Unfortunately this unit is showing my BP to be generally higher most of the time than the wrist monitor. Not a big difference. But when you already have high blood pressure, little differences can mean a lot.
I feel this unit is the most accurate of the two for it operates exactly like the doctors does. The wrist monitor inflates and continues to inflate until it shuts off. This unit operates like the doctors does in that it is inflated to a high level and then slowly bled till the result is displayed. I feel there is a reason why the doctors office always seems to use such a system. Its because its the best way to measure BP. This Omron unit should be all the BP monitor one should ever need. Its very easy to use, and very easy to read. (I opened mine when it arrived and was able to take my BP without reading any instructions. But I suggest you do, and familiarize yourself with it). The cuff is easily rolled around your arm. (If you're a man, or anyone that is overweight, buy this model with the bigger cuff, then you won't have to be worried about it fitting).

I replaced my Mighty Mouse that came with my computer with this tablet. This was my first Wacom tablet. I love this tablet! I mostly use the touch and not the pen, but I got the pen and touch because it was only a little bit more and it saves space to have one device that can input two ways rather than two different devices. I also plan to use the pen for more precise things like Photoshop and image editing. Like I said, I never had a Wacom before. The last Mac laptop I had was an iBook which was before they got the fancy "trackpad" with the multi-touch gestures. But I've read a lot of people saying that they love the multi-touch gestures so much they never want to go back to a regular mouse. I have been having major problems with my hand and wrist hurting from too much mousing. The Mighty Mouse is really too tiny and painful and not at all ergonomic, and the buttons are a real pain to use. I got the Bamboo so that I could give my wrist a rest. I also got a gel wrist rest which I rest the heel of my hand on while I use the Bamboo. The Pad is really big if you are used to using a trackpad, which is really nice. My iMac is also really big, so I can't drag something from one corner of the screen to the opposite corner - the Bamboo just isn't big enough. But how often do you need to do that anyway? I love the multi-touch gestures. Before I used the Bamboo, since like I said I had never used multi-touch gestures on a trackpad before, I watched the Bamboo tutorial video. It was helpful, and taught me a bunch of gestures I would not have otherwise found on my own. I would say it took an hour or two for me to really get used to using the multi-touch. Scrolling, dragging, right clicking all work beautifully. You can even pivot in certain programs. Being able to scroll in all directions is really nice, and I use the forward and backward swipe all the time. The right click took a little getting used to, but now it's natural and I don't have to use my left hand to hold down the ctrl button as I used to with the Mighty Mouse. The surface is matte, which I really like. I'm glad it's not a glassy surface since for touch that would mean that the oils on your fingers could mess up the tracking. (I put a matte screen protector on my iPod Touch and it made using it so much nicer!) One thing I noticed that you might not think of if you never had a tablet before is that it can get dusty, and dust can confuse the device if you have a lot of it or really big pieces. I recommend covering your tablet when you're not using it, or wiping it clean with a clock. Your hands should also be clean (no eating!) so as not to get residue on it. This tablet is such a joy to use, I'm thinking of asking if I can get one for work. I don't even mind having to pay for it myself. My hand will appreciate it!』

I prefer the way they work vs a mouse or trackball, and I prefer my Bamboo Pen and Touch to my Kensington trackball. The tablet only gets 3 stars because it's too sensitive (-1 star) and there's been no software to adjust it (-1 star), which is problematic for a $100 device.
I bought the Bamboo Touch and Pen as trackball replacement. I chose it because it's 2-finger multi-touch and I wanted to know if the pen interface would work well with Internet white-boarding.
As a touchpad it is VERY sensitive - too much so. It's easy to do unintentional double-taps, and dragging things around the desktop or in a document without accidentally dropping them requires concentration, which is distracting from the work at hand. Working on my MacBook Pro's non-glass touchpad is much easier, so I've used it as a baseline reference for comparison.
The pen-interface is registered to your screen - Wacom makes a point of this in their intro video. Touching the pen to a specific spot on the pad will ALWAYS go to the associated specific spot on the screen, regardless of where your previous pen touch was. This is neither good nor bad, it just is. I'm not quite use to it yet, mostly from lack of practice, but the pen tablet is still better for Internet white-boarding than the trackball.
I see that WACOM has just released an updated driver and will get it installed. We'll see if that changes any of the above.』
(Nice product!!) 『I bought the Bamboo CTH-460 for doing drawing and art touch-up in Photoshop and other graphics programs. The pen is a little wide for my liking (like holding a medium Sharpie pen) - I had an older Wacom tablet that had a thinner pen that felt better.
The pad doubles as a touch pad that works like the Macbook touch pad (ie. one finger moves the mouse, two fingers scrolls the page). The pad is very sensitive, but nice once you get used to it.
Other than the pen being a little bulky, I'm quite pleased with the product and the transaction went smooth. Fair price, fast delivery, great product = happy customer! 』
(Very sleek and cool graphics tablet... with touch!) 『I am a graphic designer. I've used a touchpad instead of a mouse for years so this is just what I've been looking for! I am now ditching my tiny old Alps touch pad and an old tablet for this sleek one-piece solution which, by the way, gives me all the surface area I need so I won't run out of scrolling room again! The quality of the device is great and the tablet is aestheticly beautiful. The thing is even beautifully packaged... like a gift from some alternate past in a futuristic oriental universe.
Technically, the 1024 levels from the pen is more than enough for all of my work in Photoshop and everything works just fine in Illustrator as well! There are a very few times in some programs where a certain gesture isn't supported but it's not too often. The best features for my use are the extended two-finger capabilities, gestures and the swipe-scrolling which saves me a ton of time looking for the scroll bar, since there was no wheel area on my old Alps.
There are only a couple of negatives in my estimation. First, the little red pen-holding cloth loop looks nice, but is inconvenient for regular pen users. Second, the little "chalk line" that indicates your active area fibs by nearly 1/2 inch on the sides. There may be a technical reason, and it made no difference in my actual use, but it just bugs me that they gave me a fence line but failed to tell me that my property doesn't go all the way to it. I will say that it makes the usable area look a little bigger on the photos as well. To show what I mean, the actual usable surface area is 3.4" x 4.9"...smaller the Graphire CTE-430 Wacom Graphire3 4x5 USB Tablet (Graphite Gray, CTE430GR) But the "active area" designated on the tablet by the white line measures 3.625" x 5.875". That bugs me. I checked the specs before I bought but I could see how some buyers might be TICKED OFF when they buy by sight alone.
Anyway, it's STILL a fantastic item and I'm happy with my purchase. To those who know they have a reason to invest in this item, I don't think you'll be dissatisfied. To those who have no idea why they would want this, read the reviews FIRST and if you want a new way to mouse, a way to convert handwriting to text (in Vista and Win7), or just a really cool new toy, and you've got $90 to blow, by all means, get Bamboo!』

I generally use the pen/tablet for drawing and tracing in Photoshop et al, and it does the job just fine. I've only had it for a couple months, but I anticipate this one holding up much better than the cheapo one.

Don't have any major gripes other than the FAIL after one month part.. functions as it's supposed to. Would prefer a 'street mode' (compressed audio) in the playback options. On/off switch is problematic as well, not designed for much wear. Windows Media Player generally recognizes the unit without any problems, which is nice because the Rhapsody media service they try to slip you in the (unnecessary) "installation" disk is another media player conflict/media rights usage mess... no thank you! Trying to return now for refund or replacement. It might me worth mentioning that in the warranty info it says 'SanDisk's products are not warranted to operate without failure'. Caveat Emptor.』
(Nice at First, Now Slowly Going Downhill) 『I've had the Fuze for just over a year. At first it was a dream, exactly what I expected. Then, without warning, in the middle of a song it froze up. I haven't dropped it or abused it in any way. I keep it on my desk in my office. The only work around I have found is to let the battery discharge completely, recharge it, then it works fine for a period of time before locking up. Also, don't leave it on the charger for more than a day or you won't get any response other than the black screen of death. Pushing buttons randomly for a few minutes brings back a locked screen. Let the battery run out, recharge (for less than one day) and it works again. I was fooled by the great price and glowing reviews. Yeah the price is good, but don't expect much.』
(Leaves much to be desired....) 『I love how this little thing feels and sounds -- that is, when it does play the songs I put on it. My biggest problem has been getting songs to play on the Fuze. More than half of my library of UNLOCKED mp3s don't play on this machine. Either it doesn't write the songs into the Fuze or it doesn't play them even when it shows that the memory space is being filled by those songs. I have not been able to figure out what songs are fine and which are not -- there seems to be NO logical reason why so many of my tracks that play in Rhapsody don't play on the machine.
Speaking of Rhapsody, I'm not so happy about having to use it to use the Fuze. It is not a bad music manager, it just crashes often on my Vista computer -- it doesn't seem to get "hibernate" very well. So adding to the problem of writing songs to the Fuze are the issues with Rhapsody.
Buy this if you think you will buy the Rhapsody membership and buy lots of songs through it.』

(Packs a punch) 『This is my third iPod, the others being a 40GB classic (hard drive model) and an 8GB 2g Nano (my wife's). I chose the Nano because I wanted something small and vibration tolerant that I could listen to while active (doing chores, exercising, etc.).
The Good: * Simple, sleek, and cool--worthy of the Apple name. * Small size and relatively large display. * Navigation is straightforward, and syncing through iTunes is simple. * The radio feature with live pause is great. Now when I'm interrupted I can just pause and resume without missing the broadcast. * The video camera is a nice addition. As long as you realize it's more about convenience than quality you should be satisfied. On the Mac, your videos show up in iPhoto once you've enabled the Nano for disk use. * The silver color coordinates nicely with aluminum iMacs.
The Bad: * I want a dedicated volume control. Yes, I know this would interrupt Apple's minimalist design philosophy, but some functions deserve their own physical controls. There are times when the scroll wheel controls other functions (menu navigation, traversing saved radio stations) and thus you can't directly, immediately change the volume, which I find annoying. Instead, I have to pause the unit first or navigate to "Now Playing", which is a hassle. * The Apple earbuds aren't going to win any audiophile awards. Their sound is pretty lousy, actually, but they're fine for listening when I'm engaged in an active task and don't have my full attention turned to listening. * It doesn't charge from certain older iPod accessories. I have a JBL Soundstage and an iHome under-counter player, and neither can charge/control the Nano. Apparently they use the Firewire rather than USB interface internally, which newer iPods don't support this anymore. You can still play the iPod through the devices though. * It's too easy to accidentally cover the camera lens when taking a video. I've found holding the Nano at the opposite end or along the edges works best, but it's a bit awkward due to the small size of the device. * VoiceOver is an interesting feature, but I turned it off because it kept getting unintentionally triggered when I scanned forward/back in a track (mostly for podcasts). * 16MB is probably enough for most people, but I have a large music collection and would like a larger memory option. Unfortunately this means moving to a bulkier model (the Touch or Classic).』
