『My grandson loves this set. He is four and is learning to spell all on his own. His father is a teacher and loves it! The only issue is the box it comes in has no lid and isn't durable like the pieces.』

『I bought this for my 2 1/2 year old daughter. She loves to read books with me, so I thought we'd start learning letters and words. This is a great toy because it gives you 16 words w/pictures so it's easier for the child to make a connection. My daughter can say the entire alphabet, and she knows the majority of the letters when I show them to her out of order. What a helpful tool! I definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to work on letters and words with their toddler.』

『I like Melissa and Doug toys because they are sturdy and appropriate for the age, in this case toddler/pre-school. It's simple, straight-forward logic that kids understand and like to try. My daughter can't read yet (she is 34 months), but she seems to enjoy it. She knows her letters and this particular puzzle has helped her recognize lower case letters. Beware that hte letters are small and my 18 month old likes to put them in her mouth, so I keep the pieces where the younger one can't get at them. I think it's great!』

We've been playing Five Crowns for almost a year now and it is still a go-to game for us. Sometimes my kids play on their own, or often it's pulled out for family game night. The rules are simple to understand. My six-year old can understand as easily as the rest of our family.』

I have to hold the ink, though, so she doesn't put her whole hand in it and then touch something in my house. The yellow is pretty useless, but the other colors hold up well - they don't automatically wash off in the bath but you don't have to scrub hard, either. If you can't find any stickers and want to reward your child for doing something good, this is an easy way. And it makes a great, inexpensive gift that doesn't require batteries.』

『Our son got this for his fourth birthday. He plays with it every day, and he uses it with other toys. For example, he has some action figures that he now plays with at the Dragon World Fortress. It is a good toy for two or more children to play with at one time. The various lights, sounds and moving parts make it even more fun, but it is not overly complicated. It is about two feet tall but is narrow enough to put off to the side when he is not playing with it. We paid fifty dollars on Amazon which was a fair price.』

『I bought this toy about 1 month ago for my 3 yr old son and he loves his "Dragon Castle". I am a little disapointed with the quality of the mechanisms and worry about their longevity. all of the movements seem a little chinsy or cheap and really do not do very much. for the price this toy should have much more interaction. for instance; the claws should come out more on the top when operating the mechanism for the mouth on top. It is also hard for my son to operate the gate. I did not buy this toy for it's educational value because it has none. Again, my son loves it but I worry about it's durability.』

『My husband picked this out for my son's 4th birthday and he absolutely loves it! The lights flash and the dragon comes down when you pull a lever and will actually pick up a man in his mouth. The front door to the castle resembles a garage door and my son really likes that! It took us a few days to figure out that the boulders actually swirl down the slide which is also part of the dragon's tale. Also, there is a little button like thing at the top of the slide that makes a noise and sends the boulder down the slide. This thing is just so nice. I only wish that the rooms were a little deaper...they are a bit shallow, but the men are pretty small, so it's no big deal. Almost all of the Imaginext toys are built so well, so I really recommend them to anyone with younger children. They even have some for girls now=) They aren't called Imaginext, but they are the exact same type of people and they are also Fisher Price Brand. We own the large Pirate Ship, another Castle, Coast Guard Boat, Space Ship, Space Station, Bat Cave, FireStation, Ambulance, and many other little Imaginext items and we can't wait until they come out with even more...』

『My daughter used her own money to buy this&what a disappointment. One of the doll's legs falls off anytime she plays with it. Next the cheap sword- what a joke- you are better to go get the little swords used for cocktail drinks they are more durable. Can't email Mattel to let them know that whomever is making these things for them is doing a bad job you have to call them&I am sorry but I work&commute so 7 am to 5 pm hours don't work for me.

Hard to explain to a 4 year old in tears why the sword broke and the skirt/cape won't stay on the doll. Hopefully they'll rethink a sword made out of little "balls" and figure out a better way for the skirt/cape to work.』

A Medieval Adventure
At approximately two feet in height, Dragon World Fortress is filled with enough interactive features to keep active imaginations occupied. The play set comes with two knight figures, each with their own detachable sword, shield and armor. With these figures your child can pivot "activation points" on the play set, which can reveal hidden staircases and open the front gate.

Knights who dare to enter the Dragon World Fortress face many dangers. Pulling a lever on the back of the castle will cause the green guard dragon to lunge forward and attack intruders. The lever also triggers thunder sound effects and causes the entire castle to light up. There is also a cannon that fires plastic projectiles, and a rolling boulder that can be used to defend the staircases.

The fortress is constructed in solid, sturdy plastic. Parents, be aware that it is fairly easy to topple over due to its vertical design. However, this problem is remedied by folding out the hidden set of stairs underneath the castle, giving it the stability needed for rougher play.

Encourages Imagination
Dragon World Fortress channels a spirit of medieval adventure. It is full of movable objects and sounds, but still leaves plenty of room for constructive, imaginative play. The play set provides children with the tools needed for an immersive, imaginative experience.
