『This game is SO absolutely fun!!!

The only thing I would change is the instructions a little. some of the rules seem unclear or are simply not mentioned. You almost have to come up with your own rules to playing.

Overall, I ended up purchasing 1 for myself, as well as a couple as stocking stuffers for Friends&Family for the holidays!』

『It takes only 1 game to understand the rules and from that point on it is the best game. It takes about 15-20 minutes per game and we usually pay 3 or 4 games at a time. It better to alter the rules and it is easy to extend the game by increasing the number of properties you need to win but it is not necessary.

『We love this game. My 3 year old has a blast playing it and my 2 year old will play along because he loves collecting the aphids. I even enjoy playing it. It's way less repetitive than other preschool games. I would recommend it to anyone with preschoolers.』

『This game is great for counting! One of the kids I work with, whom I didn't expect to recognize the numbers AND count, began to count out his spaces for each turn the second time playing this game! It motivates kids to count both the spaces and the aphids. I did tweak the rules a bit so we didn't have to give so many aphids to the ants--just made it so you only to give one or two to each ant. It keeps the game moving that way.I wish the pieces were not made of cardboard...I'm much more into the old school Candyland plastic pieces, but it's okay.』

『The gameplay: Good, but slightly complicated, esp for its target age range. Lead to a bit of frustration at first. Seems to be a lot of rules; not altogether intuitive, either. You should see the instruction sheet - it's 1/2 story, 1/2 instructions. I can appreciate the concept of integration and engaging the players, but it's not executed well.

Educational value: Good in helping with counting up to 10, but little else.

Durability? UGH. Like I don't have enough pieces to keep together! We do pretty good with keeping games and their pieces together... but I feel like we spend more time cleaning up and putting the pieces in their respective ziplock bags than we do playing. (Well, maybe not - but cleanup time is a factor. That can be a good thing, too; assigning jobs and teaching responsibility...)

There certainly is a cuteness factor that will appeal to little girls, with the bugs and all. Overall, though, I'd go with a game that's a little less complicated and has less pieces! Longevity was an issue as well - despite managing to not lose too many aphids and whatnot, we played it only a few times before my girls (3&4yo) lost interest.

We have Silly Story Maker that has pictures on it where each player can lay down a card and add to the story the players make up as they go along - great for the 3-5+ age group, and better for brain development than 1-10 counting, which is all this game reinforces. Heck, even Sorry will outscore this game educationally, and it's easier for the little ones to understand.

I don't mean to poo-poo the game too much. I know it was created by a 1st grader and all (it's kinda obvious, really) - and if she was my daughter I'd be really proud... but to compare it to other games, well, there really isn't a comparison.

There's better bang-for-your buck out there.』

(Great for younger kids who want to "really play" their part)
『This game is well-designed for the younger kids. I am just astonished that my son, not quite three yet, can play his part, by the rules, with only the rare correction. Even more unbelievable, he's been playing the game by *himself* lately!

He can interpret the cards and board directions, using a few tricks. We noticed that the Move Forward cards are written in green letters, and Move Back cards in red. The movement cards use numbers, but also a corresponding number of little pictures of "spaces." Many cards say Play Again at the bottom, and those cards always have a little ladybug next to those words--he sees that the card has a ladybug and knows to take another turn. The Get and Lose Aphid cards and board spots have similar color coding and pictures.

My son seems to think this is all a great deal of fun! I think a big part of that is the feeling of accomplishment. My seven-year-old, a good game player, enjoys the game also. For an adult, of course, it can get a bit tedious, but MUCH better than Candyland!

For an interested young child, this game does an excellent job of improving skills in counting, interpreting symbols, following directions, understanding typical game board pathways, taking turns, and having fun!

My "how much fun" rating is based on my child's reaction. Durability is about typical or a bit better--typical folding board, good quality large cards, thick cardboard aphids, thick cardboard ladybug markers with plastic stands.』

『PetPals is my 3 year old daughter's favorite game! By far she chooses PetPals more often than any of our other Leapster games. My 5 year old son enjoys it too although he prefers StarWars and Wall-E. And our 22 month old baby boy also loves to play PetPals.

It has a neat part of the game where you train your puppy to run along the shape of letters, and it forces your child to correctly write the letters on the screen. I always feel happy to let my children play the Leapster games because after much reservation I am seeing that they know phonics and simple addition and subtraction.』

(Not as fun as they look)
『These are kind of a waste of money I think. They look so fun on TV but my grandkids didn't think they were so much. Not quite what Iwas expecting and I am disappointed. They also leave a waxy residue on everything they touch. I think they are a waste of $20.』

(They don't do what they say they do)
『My 3-year-old son got some of these for his birthday. They look neat, and he was very excited about making all the animals shown on the box. The box says they are for ages 3 and up, but let me tell you, when it comes to making the crafts shown on the box or in the instructions--or pretty much ANYTHING, there is no way a 3-year-old can do it. A team of 3 adults in our house couldn't even make them work. Part of it is because the instructions are difficult to follow, but mostly it's because the strings don't work right. They don't hold their shape when you bend them, and they don't stick together well. We'd get a few steps into the project, and it would just come all apart. VERY frustrating for both us and my son. After about an hour of trying, we gave up. As far as reusing the strings again and again like the advertisement says: good luck with that. They are never the same again after they've been bent and played with. They're basically worthless--not that they were much to start with. My son does enjoy dumping out all the colors and mixing them up and playing with them, but that's about as far as it goes. He tires of that in a couple of minutes and then it's a huge pain to clean up the mess. Not worth the trouble--I'm probably going to get rid of them. Don't waste your money or your time.』

『My 6 yr old is somewhat disappointed that neither he nor I were talented enough to make the things shown on TV or in the instruction book. But he's had lots of fun with them making simpler things. However, we are now 'stuck' with a horrible waxy mess on the kitchen table and window! The sticky wax comes off on everything they touch and the wax will NOT come off even with an abrasive kitchen scrub sponge. I honestly think we're just going to have to buy a new table and take a razor blade to the window. Avoid this overpriced, messy, aggravating piece of junk 'toy'.』

『My 3&5 year old recieved the dolls as birthday gifts. Shoes are missing so now we have to look at the dolls peg legs. I looked online and in stores and extra clothing and shoes for the dolls are not available. Also, the clothes do not come on/off easily. A pair of stockings tore when I was trying to swith the dolls clothes. I recomend sticking with Barbies for younger children or for children who are getting their first dress-up dolls. These dolls are not very sturdy. THEY ARE CUTE and I do recomend them for older girls BUT NOT TO PLAY DRESS-UP.』

『I'm OK with Barbie, I really am. But she can be sort of one dimensional. And Bratz have always been banned from our home, that is definitely not going to change. So I was very pleased when I came across these dolls a few weeks ago while shopping for my 8 year old daughter. They're cute without being boring, they're clothes are more like those I'd allow my own daughter to actually wear and they're hip enough for my daughter to be interested in them.

I like the accessories that can be purchase to play with these dolls because they are creative (allowing your child to color, wipe off and recolor them) so I feel like I'm getting a good bargain for my money. They're as well made as a Barbie doll too, so if you're child takes care of them, who knows, maybe someday (a LONG LONG time from now), your grandchildren will love them too.』

『I have bought this toy for my 3 boys, 2,5 and 7. This is to be 1 of their Christmas toys and I am so tempted to give them early (almost). This is the coolest little truck I have ever seen. My kids are going to absolutely love him. My hubby and I played with them for an hour when we got them. If you have boys buy this truck they won't be disappointed. Load 'Em Up and Move 'Em Out
Built with strong, durable plastic, Rocky is ready to handle heavy loads. Your child can manually tilt his dump bed to unload it -- or make some noise and he'll do it for you. And when you push Rocky forward or pull him backward on all six wheels, his blue headlights are activated and he'll make some noise of his own, with engine sounds and honking.

The smokestack on the front of the truck is the primary way to control this robot truck. Tilting the lever back gets Rocky to stand on his back four wheels. The truck is automatically set in dump mode, but pressing the red button on top of the smokestack several times will switch it to dancing mode, where he'll shake his upper truck body to music. Pushing the lever forward returns Rocky to a normal truck position.

The red button also cues Rocky to say one of his many phrases or jokes, and also wakes him up if he's taking a nap. If you don't play with Rocky for a while, he will go into sleep mode -- a may even snore. Kids get Rocky's attention by placing objects in his dump bed, or by pushing or pulling him.

Make Some Noise!
Rocky is very responsive, interactive, and engaging -- often prompting kids to make noise so he can show off his dancing and dumping skills. Because you can play with him manually or with his help, Rocky makes playtime easy and simple. However, with only one button for a couple of operations, Rocky's automatic modes may take some getting used to for younger children. They may have a difficult time getting directly past the robot's talking to get to the dancing mode.
