Every family should have this game in their cabinet if they have young children. I just wish they would make games that didn't have so many pieces too lose!
When I was a Speech Therapist, I created cards for our therapy session and after the child responded correctly, they would pick a color card and move their piece. I had 6th graders who enjoyed the game as much as the kindergarten kids. Because anyone can win, it's an opportunity to teach and practice good game skills. Enjoy!
I have fond memories of playing Candyland when I was young. Many hours with my parents and older sister, but it had been a long time since I played it.

I picked this up to play with my daughter and it is just as I remembered it, at least the fun part. Some of the details are a bit hazy so I do not recall the board exactly, and the new board did not really bother me much because I look at it more for the fun.

We are enjoying it together and though it is basic in terms of strategy and the fact it is chance based, it does not detract from the enjoyment and sometimes one or the other wins. It shows the basic concept of taking turns, some skills on colors/matching and overall a good first step game.
This game was something I was anxious for my little cousin to experience since I had such fond memories of playing it as a child. When it was purchased however I was extremely shocked and disappointed by the changes. The gingerbread men had wider bottoms that overlap the board pieces, and the graphics were horrible. My favorite characters like Jolly and Grandma Nut were completely unrecognizable, and Plumpy was nowhere to be found. Plus there was a beaver, where'd he come from? My cousin enjoyed the game but I felt bummed. The nostalgia is just not there with this version. Why are they ruining all the great games with their ugly changes? Maybe it's just me and I focus too much on the looks of things, but the new version just didn't cut it for me.

I suggest buying the retro version from Wal-Mart or an old game board online. My cousin enjoys the older version so much that we rarely use the newer designed board.

Overall a nice product. Two major things that i don't like are:
1>the rear wheels don't swivel. It makes getting around more difficult for an infant just learning to use his/her legs.
2>The tray in front has a nice snap in entertainment center. The problem is, there's too many nooks and crannies for droll and food to get stuck into.It's hard to clean and is not waterproof. The good thing is that it comes off easily so you can toss it in the trash can like I did.

On a positive note, it's doing exactly what I bought it for. My 7 month old is now mobile and exploring the house on his own.

The quality of this one is better than all the other ones out there. This one is also more expensive, but worth it. I'd classify this one as barely acceptable. And all the other ones cheap poorly built junk.
This product is awesome. The baby loves it, and so do we. Once he figured out he can chase the dog and get around on his own he's been unstoppable!

The bumpers and brakes keep him where we want him, and it's easy to block areas with a simple rug or strategically placed chair.

The toy attached to the top is interesting to him, but hard to clean if baby spits up at all. Otherwise, it's perfect. The toy is removable so you can take it off to feed or give other toys to play with. This has been some of the best money we've spent. The only loser is the poor dog, who spends a lot of time on the couch these days :)
This walker is the best I've found since my oldest son (9-year-old) was a baby. Most of the walkers out there have stationary back wheels that don't allow your child the freedom to go in any direction at the drop of a hat. This one does! My son has figured out how soon he needs to stop and make a turn. The base is big (like all walkers), but is not cumbersome. This is the one you want! It is also accomodating to those hefty (okay...fat) babies like mine!
My son loves this walker! It is easy to assemble, folds down flat for storage and the adjustable heights are exactly what we were looking for. The brakes on the bottom also make it so he is not able to move over the thresholds into another room. He has a grand time flying around in his walker.
My baby is 3 months and wants to stand up all the time so I got this walker and she love's it all the color's and sounds are endless. And if youu have carpet you can just take off the brakes so it cna mover over carpet. My baby reaches the floor with the lowest level. She will use this for a long time well untill she can walk:) Oh I have searched for a good cute walker and this is the only one that is cute. I would say it is worth it for the price and it looks really good in person not just the photo.

Fun Fun Fun to play in large groups of adults. It is a little difficult for children under 12.
Great inter-active game with others. . . A test of ones knowledge. . . opportunity to increase dexterity and knowledge. Bottom line: great fun!
Ok, so maybe we aren't using this toy in the most conventional sense, but it's still a lot of fun for us. We play drinking (i.e. alcoholic beverages) games with this little toy to test out our verbal description skills. It's a kinda boring at first until teams start losing and have to take shots or whatever we have going. Then is just devolves into a good time as people get frustrated with either someone inability to describe something or inability to guess correctly. For us, that's where the real fun comes in - the insults and debauchery.

Would kids find this thing fun? Couldn't tell ya.... but for adults who refuse to grow up and drink responsibly, this game is a good way to get the night going.

Some friends of ours while we were camping introduced us to this game "Catch Phrase".
I haven't laughed like that night playing a game since I was a child.
Our friend's Catch Phrase had a rubber body, and ours is pure plastic. Theirs felt a little more durable. You do end up dropping it or should I say throwing it away like a HOT potato.
I've purchase three this year as gifts.

We belong to a once-a-month Game Night group of 8 couples (we are in our 30's and 40's). After reading the reviews here, we decided to give Catch Phrase a try and it was huge success. Only one couple had played before but the rules were so easy and everyone caught on fast. We played about 2 1/2 hours (girls vs. guys) and everyone had a blast. This is a fun, fast-paced game!

I bought this instead of a plastic product because of my concerns regarding plastics. And I will point out that I could have probably gotten triple the amount of play food had I gone with plastic. But for safety issues, I chose this set instead. However, after a week of active play the paint is already chipping off of several pieces. So I don't have to worry about BPA, just about my children possibly ingesting lead.

All the Melissa and Doug products I've bought over the last 4 years have really seemed sub-par in quality, and of course they're all made in China. My child really enjoys this set but if I find a vendor with a non-MIC product, I will replace it.
I use this to teach with in daycare. All the kids love playing pretend with it as well. Each food group comes in a different basket wich they love to set in the kitchen set. All of the pieces are very durable&high quailty. Forget the plastic play food and get this you won't have to replace any pretend food for a long time.
Some where along the lines I missed that the food was wooden, I was expecting plastic for some reason. My son does seem to still enjoy it and using his food to help me cook. They do seem like they will hold up a lot better than plastic stuff. Just really heavy and not real size.
I purchased this set along with four other sets and a food stand for my son for his birthday. He wanted to open a store and sell things. He has really enjoyed making sandwiches and selling his food to his brothers and his father and I. The set is a good size and has been played with in our house by girls and boys ages one to nine, not to mention how much I have played with it with them. Highly recommended.
Very durable. My daughter has played with it for three years. I threw the orange and the apple away after being in the line of fire of a two year old's temper tantrum. Now she's four and the tantrums have passed. I guess I should have saved them but wooden fruit hurts!

This water gun shoots about 15', which is adequate but not as described. Large enough resevoir to outlast other water toys.
I didn't know you had pump the thing and there was no trigger to shoot. And it only shoots about 15 feet and the stream is not very powerful. I bought it to scare squirrels away from my bird feeders, it barely works, not enough power.
I bought this toy to humanely frighten away an illegally released invasive species of duck away from our bird feeder. The ducks loved the "blast" which was more of a shower.
However, this toy is fun, even for an adult. I found it effective in providing a quick blast of cooling water when doing heavy yard work in a warm climate. My husband plans on getting one too, to "fight back"! More fun than the squirt guns we had as kids.
The distance of the spray is realatiely short - 8 to 10 feet and the stream is not very strong. The pumper action used to spray the water feels a little flimsy and would likely be broken by younger childre.
Strangely enough, I bought this to discipline my dogs when they bark at the fence. They stop when they see the soaker. The soaker shoots quickly and long. I'll try the fun aspects after the weather get warmer.

Because I love the Twilight saga I bought into some of the promotional items. This key chain, however, is sooooo not worth $[...]. It looks extremely cheap and like something you could buy at Claire's boutique for half the price. Don't bother. I do recommend the boxed book set!

I really love my keychain! It's pretty durable (b/c i'm always throwing my keys around lol) and it's just stylish! =]<3
The key ring is exactly what I wanted. It's a dull metal colour and is extremely good quality. It's a very good interpretation of the famous Twilight line, "And so the lion fell in love with the lamb." I don't know why it's listed as a toy though.

As was stated in other reviews, this item is not exceptionally strong, but is still a very cool item. Mine hangs from my rear-view mirror and I love it there! I would not use it as a key chain or bag tag because it just ins't durable enough. But being aware of that, it is still worth the purchase!

After teaching for 34 years my husband and I sought silence and time to read books not associated with teaching. But we missed challenges, fun with words, and open displays of our "mental acuity". The minor aphasia and word-retrieval speed associated with aging were also of concern. One solution: NY Times crossword puzzles -- fun for one. How to have language fun for more than one? --- Scrabble!! I had forgotten how much fun it could be, and it's a great mental exercise as well. I highly recommend this particular game set because it rotates for each person to see the words on the board properly, it keeps all of the pieces in nice little drawers, and the individual depressions to hold each letter in place are extremely helpful.
It a great game for family night. No real issues with the construction of the board except being nostalgic grew up with wooden tiles and this comes with black plastic tiles. Sometimes you can't have eveything.
Since the only other scrabble game I've owned is about 20 years old, I thought this was a wonderful improvement. I love the fact that the letters no longer slide all over the board if it gets accidentally bumped, I'm thrilled with the lazy susan device so that the game easily rotates from player to player, the drawers are convenient for storing the tiles and holders and I like the bright, cheerful colors. I'm also pleased with the foldability, the ease of transport and storage. It doesn't include a timer, but I already have one. I also don't miss the score pad as I just use looseleaf paper. Overall, I'm very happy with my new game and play it often at homes or even at coffee houses with friends. It's very user-friendly and a great way to keep those little gray cells procreating! So, if you're flummoxed or in a conundrum as to what to buy, I'd suggest this Diamond Edition Scrabble game. Have fun!
My previous portable Scrabble game was a nuisance. The tiles popped our of their places. I had always thought they should reissue the magnetic version. Now they've finally come out with a winner. Although this edition is compact, it is not small. However, its features make up for its size. Two spacious drawers provide storage (no scorepad is provided). The ridges around the squares keep the tiles in place. In addition, the board turns on wheels. They even curved the racks for added privacy. The case folds and has a handle for easy carrying. Good engineering, overall!
I purchased this game for my almost-26-year-old son as a gift. It's one of his favorite games, which says a lot for a guy with former spelling "issues". I can honestly say that this game, combined with prefix/suffix information, improved his spelling and reading (and then comprehension!) significantly as a junior high student, and now as an adult, too! Thanks to the ability to read and understand, he became an avid reader, a better student, and even graduated from high school early! I know it sounds funny to attribute his success to a game, and I'm not saying that this game was the "it" that did it, but Scrabble sure did help! This particular version is more mobile for him whether he goes to game night at a friend's house, or stays home. It's easier to store than the old box version, too.

One reviewer claimed this was expensive for what you get - I felt like it was a lot for the price, given how pricey lego sets are. You can make quite a few things with this.

My son just turned 5 and this is, I think, just the right level of challenging for him. This is his first Lego set and he loves it. I love finally having something to do with him that I think is really fun, too.

Not a toy to be outgrown quickly since you can always add more and more Legos and these are fairly basic, not super specific techy looking pieces.

I see this becoming our standard ~5yo birthday gift. Good price and good fun!

eta - we paid twenty bucks for this in a toy store - the Amazon price just jumped up.
We purchased this set for my 5 year old Son and my 7 year old Daughter and they both love it. It has a cool dump truck, roller and a front loader and the little men that ride inside the vehicles. The set includes 300 pieces and is a good deal if you purchase from Amazon directly when it's available. Just look on the right side and it will list that this item is also sold directly from Amazon. Some of the other sellers on Amazon are charging over double the retail price of this set.
My son loves legos - but the price of this box far exceeds the amount of blocks that are in it.
This is a great kit. You can make all three trucks at the same time with Legos left over. The trucks are durable enough to drive around. My son is five and could do quite a bit of the building.
This is a great set for kids who don't have any other LEGO toys, because there is a "blueprint" for what to do with the pieces (make construction vehicles), but they can also be used to build other things. Of course, it also complements other LEGO toys. Great transition toy for kids who liked "Bob the Builder" in an earlier stage (or still do!)

I bought this for my grandson two years ago and it just stopped working this week! A great buy for over TWO YEARS of bubbles!
I'm glad I read reviews on all the bubble machines out there. This ones reviews weren't perfect but seemed the best in comparison. It has been great! Makes so many bubbles!!! Seems hardy, been knocked over quite a few times and pulled at and works great. Buy this bubble machine.
We bought this last summer and it worked for 2 days and then it would not work no matter what we did.
I did clean it after using it both times and I checked the batteries, but it just would not work. Like I said in the title my son loved it for the 2 days that it worked, but it just didn't work long enough. If you're looking for a good bubble machine that you'd like to use more than twice I'd look elsewhere.
This bubble machine is the best. We purchased a look alike that in no way compares to the durability of this machine. Kids love bubbles, mommy doesn't like blowing bubbles for them, so here ya go. I only wish they had this when I was young. Best purchase this year.
My son recieved this for his birthday 2 years ago and still loves it! We only use it outside so leaking is not an issue. We have not had to change the batteries at all and every time we get it out my boys get so excited. This is a great investment and gives the kids and mom a reason to get outside and get some fresh air!

I did not expect the "50 dollar" 50th Anniversary Barbie Doll to be such a stunner and of such high quality! Robert Best has done it again, with beautiful faces, gorgeous gowns, glittering accessories--right down to Barbie's "50th" Bracelet and Drop-Dead Gorgeous earring in faux diamonds. Her Hair, her make up, her GOWN--I love it all. It is always something of a gamble to choose from a photo. No gamble here. And, Mattel's newer "see-through" packaging makes it so those of us who are "NRFB'ers" (Never Remove From Box) just _tickled_! You can see just about every part of this lovely Golden Lady without touching any lids, tapes or seals. Well done Mattel and Mr. Best. 5 Stars and Thumbs Up! I purchased this doll for my wife's collection. She loves it and I had to immediately had to buy 2 additional dolls for my granddaughters. The price was less than I could find it elsewhere, besides I did not have to pay tax or shipping. I am not able to rate it as listed above because it is a collector item.
This doll sold out fast and Amazon was the only place that I could obtain,
also at a reasonable price. It was delivered in perfect condition, including the plastic display box, which most other places will not guarantee. I continue to shop at Amazon as it has been a pleasant experience each and every time.
As always, Robert Best did a superb job of designing the 50th anniversary doll. She is absolutely stunning in every way. For the collector, she is this years' addition! Her golden dress hair and jewelry are perfect for this the golden anniversary of one of the world's best loved dolls!
I bought this Barbie for my grown daughter who collects Barbies. She is very particular about the boxes as she never removes the doll from them, but only displays them and the box and doll arrived in perfect condition.
