Of the d6s, 7 were tiny and 1 was extra large. About half of the d6s had pips and the other half had numbers. Also 3 of them had a sword symbol in place of the 6 which is pretty cool. A number of the dice had smudgy numbers, like the ink had smeared but that's pretty minor. They range in all different colors and textures. A few of them are hard to read because the number and the die are very similar in color but I don't mind. I do wish the types of dice were distributed more evenly (30 d20s is a little excessive) but I still highly recommend this purchase. To anyone who likes collecting dice: GET THIS!

However, even though all are obviously new, some (less than 5%) are "blurred" (the numbers) or with minor fabric defects. Another issue is that the amount of dice are far from even: there are much more d6's, d10's and d20's - what is balanced according to the needs of most RPGs, but may not be desirable.』

The collection was mostly speckled dice with a few solids. The only clear dice were 4 d10s and 2 clear d6 with pips in the two sets.
I understand these are factory seconds, but honestly, it's difficult to tell why on most. For some, it's obvious that the dice were molded as they were changing colors, but actually, that makes them cooler as far as I'm concerned. There's nothing like a d10 with one end grey and the other red (or white and purple) to make things stand out. I suspect the high incidence of speckled is because the speckles weren't even enough--at least that's the only problem I can find with most that I can even id a problem. There's a few where the inking of the numbers isn't quite complete, but it's clear what the number is. For most of the pipped d6's, I don't have a clue what the problem is that made them seconds.
The two "special" sets of complete dice in my bags are actually ugly. Both are off-white (sort of an ivory-cream), one with barely noticeable yellow speckles and the other with light pink speckles. My thought when ordering was that I would save the specials for myself, but I tossed them into the lot for players to pick from (after picking my favorites first.) This doesn't detract from the value for me, because the price for what I got was so cheap.
I'd have preferred more d4's and d12's, but I the results were expected from the other reviews.

It took me forever to figure out just what she was talking about. Even when I saw the picture of the product here on Amazon I still had trouble understanding why she would want these. It turned out they were all the rage at school.
When she opened the package on Christmas day her eyes lit up like stars. There were 6 different shapes in this package, 24 in total, all very recognizable animals. She thoroughly enjoyed using them as jewelry (bracelets for arms and legs) and in the way you would usually use string to make various shapes of string art. They also function completely well as an actual rubber band.
There really isn't much to this product and yet it seems to be a very resilient product which gives hours of fun. The bands spring back into their original shape after being stretched out and indeed, one band was left on a doll's wrist for a month and resumed it's shape when I found it and removed it. I now have a purple puppy of my very own. Or until my grandgirl comes over and finds it!』
(Bandz Crazyyyy) 『My kids love the bandz. I get them from a local retailer here in town that charges $5 a pack for them. It beats payin for the shipping, but i am looking for a place that will make them in different shapes. I love the fact that these things do teach children the art of trading and how to actually "look over" something before you trade for it. My son traded a dino. for a broken sun. I think the Christmas banz on this site are a little high so I will be looking around and shipping cost almost as much as a package but I don't know how hard they are to find with this being new to us. What I DO KNOW is they are educational. First my 3 year olds have learned about colors and shapes because they are overly interested in them because of their older brother. (Set sail and explore! Hidden islands and unknown riches await!) 『Seafarers of Catan offers a new dimension to the game: the ability to build a trading route to outlying islands across the vast ocean and settle there.
This expansion requires The Settlers of Catan to play, and is equipped with 4 sets of ships, additional resource hexes, many sea hexes, additional number tokens, new harbor tokens, a pirate ship, and an extensive rules and scenarios book.
The expansion uses much of the same rules as The Settlers of Catan. The biggest addition is that coastal settlements/cities can serve as links between the mainland and neighboring islands. A trade route of ships can be build from a coastal settlement/city along the coastline, or out to sea, much like building roads on land. 1 ship costs 1 Lumbar and 1 Wool to build.
In addition, once per turn. 1 ship on the end of an open trade route can be moved to a new location, as long as it remains connected to the trade route or to a coastal settlement/city. This game mechanic increases players' abilities to expand and explore when they are ready to.
Settling on islands can be beneficial as they may provide resources that are scarce on the mainland, or it can enable (a) player(s) to capitalize on significant (and sometimes) unrivaled production of certain resources. This is important because ports are typically located on the mainland in most scenarios, and will become extremely useful later on.
There are also 2 Gold Hexes provided. Gold Hexes provide players who have built there with resources of their choice when the number on the token is rolled. Gold Hexes are located on outlying islands, and are usually worth the effort and resources to reach and settle there.
Due to the extra cost of building ships, most games are played to 12 or more Victory Points. In addition, "The Longest Road" card is aptly renamed as "The Longest Trade Route", which includes the longest chain of unbroken ships and roads.
The Robber has a new partner called the Pirate Ship. When a 7 is rolled, either the Robber or Pirate Ship can be moved. The Pirate Ship serves to prevent further extension of marine trading routes (i.e. no ships can be built along the sea hex border upon which The Pirate Ship is located). Adjacent ships cannot move away from the hex either. In addition, the turn player can take one resource card from a player whose ships are located next to the Pirate Ship.
With the option to move either the Robber or the Pirate Ship, players can elect to keep the Robber on a desired hex instead of being forced to move it. This can severely diminish a player's lead.
Like Settlers of Catan, Seafarers takes the most exciting aspect of the game and expands upon it. Seafarers offers a virtually unlimited number of board layout possibilities. The scenario booklet included profiles several scenarios such as: Heading for New Shores, The Four Islands, and The Fog Island (and a few more).
Heading for New Shores employs the normal Settlers of Catan board, and adds outlying islands, which include the popular Gold Hexes.
In The Four Islands scenario, players start on 1 or 2 "home islands" and earn additional points for settling on the others. Certain resources may be more abundant on the non "home islands". In addition, the various ports are distributed among the islands, providing additional incentive to expand.
In The Fog Island, players begin on the mainland and build out to unknown, uncharted territory covered by fog. As ships extend from the coast, face down and randomly shuffled hexes are revealed as land or sea (if it is a resource producing land hex, 1 resource of that type is provided as a discovery bonus). 1 random number token is then assigned to the newly discovered resource producing island hex.
Of course, players are free to create their own "New World" as they like and employ any or all of the new game aspects introduced.
I highly suggest Seafarers for those who have only played Settlers and are seeking a modest game addition to enhance their Catan experience. The ability to generate new maps and scenarios is what keeps the game exciting for me, and it has been highly rewarding for me and my friends to expand and explore.
If you are on the fence, search for Seafarers of Catan. You will see many images of how much fun people have had while playing this expansion.

(I love Settler's and this adds a great twist to the strategy of the game!) 『When I expanded the original Settler's of Catan game with the Seaferrers expansion I was amazed at how such simple additions could make the game so much more fun. With Cities and Knights the changes aren't simple but they are totally worth it. Once you've become very familiar with the first two expansions and feel as though you've mastered the game, this expansion will bring back the challenge and more!
While there are actually very few new pieces added to your overal game play the rules associated are complex (at first) but after studying the rules a couple times and playing through it I was totally aclamated. This exapansion is great!
Now if I can only convince my Wife to buy the forth expansion :)』
(A Necessary Expansion) 『I enjoy this expansion, purely for the options it gives you in terms of how the board gets laid out.
I think my favorite expansion is Cities and Knights because it adds complexity, this expansion adds, little to no complexity, however, if you are creative, scenarios can be played that drastically increase the possibilities offered by the world of Catan that you can create.
My personal recommendation is to upgrade to cities and knights first, until that is mastered, then use seafarers to add your unique set up rules and scenarios to accent the complexities added by Cities and knights.
I would say seafarers is a necessary expansion for those who wish to elevate their game play of Catan.

We also have the (fisher price?)magnetic farm thing. The one where the child connects the front and back of the animal and a little song plays. I'm a big M&D fan for their quality, educational and imagination geared toys...and my son LOVES animals and LOVES magnets. For Christmas we got our son (he's 2) an easel just for his enjoyment of magnet play so...we stocked up on magnets of course...when I saw these, they seemed perfect...animals...magnets...at the same time we also got him 2 of Leapfrog's magnet sets...their letters and their barn, having had prior positive experience with their Wash N Go set. (a transport themed set) those two sets seem to have overshadowed this set when it comes to magnet play. In the defense of Melissa and Doug, the LeapFrog sets are interactive sound sets and these do offer some competition...even if 20 doesn't sound like many, they cover a LARGE fridge area. 20 is a lot more than I'd have imagined and offers great variety!! Despite them being overshadowed, (for now, only a week has passed since Christmas) I am very pleased with them in general and he DOES enjoy playing with them when he's just not feeling up to messing with all the sounds the LeapFrog magnets provide. I definitely don't regret purchasing the magnets and am very pleased with them because he does enjoy them and enjoys discussing them and the sounds they make with my husband and me. (the word discussing being a broad term for "two year old pointing and making inquisitive noises, and us responding with the name and noise they make and encouraging him to repeat it which he mimics to the best of his ability) The fact that that prompt him vocally is probably why even though he doesn't play with them a whole lot, I am extremely pleased with them. A bunch of their toys have a very handy plastic piece that slides onto the top of the box, so everything is nicely contained. Why did they skip that important feature on this otherwise fantastic item?? I'm seriously baffled. We purchased the magnetic ABCs set and it had a nice top to it, this animal set is almost identical and yet, no top. It's just really easy to lose the animals. I can put them in their own box or bag, but what's the point of the nice wooden box that it comes with then? Anyways, aside from that, I really like this item. The animals are well made, stick nicely to magnetic surfaces and are illustrated well. My two year old is a big fan. B-』
