Classic Fun with Modern Twists Aside from the electronic banking, the basic rules of this game have not changed from the Monopoly everybody remembers. Tokens, houses, hotels, chance and community chest cards, cardboard property deeds -- if you've played the classic version, you'll know how to play. The board is different in how it folds up in the box, but once you spread it out, it's the same.
The tokens have changed to reflect today's culture. Instead of irons and racing cars, the tokens depict modern icons such as a Segway and a tin of Altoids. Instead of railroads, there are airports. The utilities are Internet service providers and cell phone services. Properties have also been updated -- from the upscale blue Times Square to the economy purple Texas Stadium. In this game, you can go to jail for identity theft or lose $1 million when a virus infects your computer network. And of course, property values are exponentially higher than in the original game.
The big switch, of course, is the electronic banking. Each player starts with $15 million in their bank card account, and the banker adds amounts (such as when the player passes go) or subtracts (such as when the player pays to get out of jail) by inserting the player's card in the plus or minus slot of the Banker Unit. When one player has to pay another player, the banker debits or credits each account as appropriate.
Monopoly for Right Now The electronic banking is neat and easy to handle, and as an added educational bonus, the player who takes on the banker role will quickly become familiar with basic bookkeeping concepts. The bank cards operate more like debit than credit, so players will learn responsible money management, not how to run up credit card debt.
This version of Monopoly doesn't play significantly differently than the original. The game can still take hours to play, and the instructions offer several alternatives for those who want speedier play. The updates introduce a few elements of surprise along the way, but for the most part it's still the same great Monopoly that will provide the same kind of family fun with some surprising, up-to-date twists.

(Little tubs of fun) 『When I visited my granddaughters in Australia last year for their birthdays, I made room in my suitcase for this Play-Doh Case of Colors. I intended it for party favors, but one rainy afternoon when Mom was working and my son was busy in the kitchen I decided to get it out for the girls.
At four and six years old, they're Play-Doh veterans and have a crate of little accessories to help with the fun. They were soon deep in the creative process, chatting all the while.
Drawing and modeling are windows into a child's imagination. I was delighted with their spotted dogs, bright birds, little families in wearable-art clothing, and many items that truly defied categorizing. Their stories and conversation were even more charming. The little two-ounce tubs encouraged sharing and planning. What a happy memory for me!
At the end of the afternoon the Play-Doh was sorted by color and packed back into the tubs, to be used again but never in its pristine state. There's something about brand-new Play-Doh, isn't there?
It may have seemed silly to haul Play-Doh halfway around the world to a household that's the world capital of children's art supplies, but I'm glad I did -- and my granddaughters were glad too. I'm a true fan of the Play-Doh Case of Colors.

Even when I try to help my daughter, I can't understand it very well. I was a bit surprised because leapfrog did such a good job pronouncing and differentiating sounds on their letter factory dvd. Also, the words it creates are limited because it only has doubles of a few letters. (Although, if a child notices this, they're probably more advanced than this toy is designed for.)』

(How has this toy survived? Wow.) 『My 6 year old brother is a whirlwind. His family nickname is "Captain Destruct-o", and with good reason. The boy hasn't failed to destroy a toy yet, excluding his Wii. I got the stomp rocket because it was cheap and looked like fun. That way, I wouldn't be too mad once he destroyed it. WRONG. I received it on time right before Christmas and it is still sitting, completely intact, in my front yard. The rockets, however, were all lost Christmas morning. We eventually got 2 of them back, but they've already been lost again. The rockets themselves aren't too expensive, so I'm probably going to buy a few here and there for back ups. But with Captain Destruct-o and a 260lb man going at this thing like crazy, the only thing they managed to do was get the rockets WAY higher than 200ft. Definitely a great buy, and obviously very durable.』

It was a huge hit for everyone at my family's Christmas. You slip on a foam rocket and then you stomp on the plastic air pad. We used it indoors since it was snowing outside and it was perfectly safe. It went a LONG way! The kids really enjoyed it but I think every adult in the room also had a go at it. A great gift idea for any kid--and relatively cheap! $11 was totally worth it! I will definitely buy this product again.』
