What a great game . . . and it's helping my 3 yr old learn to write his letters! I find him pretending to draw letters with his fingers. He stays focussed on the games and the instructions. Maybe not an 'exciting' adventure, but still fun to play (and learn!).
My 4 year old loves playing this game, but i found out that they are teaching the wrong stuff to kids. This game teaches kids that the primary colors are Red, Blue and Yellow - which is plain wrong. We all know that Red, Blue, Green are the primary colors. How can a learning game get it all wrong, and that too from Leapfrog which claims emphasis on learning. I cant believe they are getting away with teaching wrong concepts. very disappointed.

Well- I read the reviews and almost skipped on this one, as my son is easily frustrated, but I am glad I didn't. The parents who could not satisfy Mr. Pencil's perfectionism were just doing things in adult-style... writing the letter he asked them to. That is NOT how it works. You must follow each step. For instance... if he shows you how to draw a three and you draw it in one shot... well, that will be considered incorrect. You must make the top curve and stop and then make the bottom curve to complete it as instructed. So if you can already make letters, it will be frustrating. If you are willing to follow the instructions you will find it far more forgiving.
There are also colors to mix and cool pictures to trace. My son simply loves it! Mr. Pencil is kind, but will stop you if you don't get it after about three tries, with a "let's try it again later." Personally, while some people like the idea of trying until they get it right, I think a break may be exactly what's required. He has yet to try all the features of the game-- and I am sure he won't like it so much when Mr. Pencil draws alongside him and the lines go across his newly drawn artwork -- but all he has done so far he is really enjoying. Practicing on the computer screen is more fun for him than doing it on paper.
If your kiddo really wants to play big kid video games but is really to young for wii, xbox and playstation this is the best kids gaming system right now. The buttons are easy and responsive. The games that we own are fun and interesting to my 3 year old and our 6 and 8 year old neighbors. They all provide an educational benefit usually math based/problem solving side. We've had it for several months and it is still a lot of fun and is challenging.

The other gaming systems like the v-motion are really lacking in comparison ( my son doesn't play the v-motion b/c the controller is not responsive and it becomes very frustrating...the lack of responsiveness is due to product development. The graphics are awful. )
It is lacking in graphics and is occasionally too rigid in its requests for some games (You can't lift the pencil in Mr. Pencil or in chasing zero when the goal is to write a number or letter for example). The graphics could be better the string attaching the stylus could be longer.

My 9-year-old son asked me to buy him a few packages of Pokemon Cards, but I do not know about these things and here I see a lot of variety and I am afraid to be buying something that is not for what he is asking for.
This is a gift for our 8 year old grandson. Since he loves them so much, I'm sure he will enjoy them. It really isn't fair to the seller to ask an 70 year old Grandmother evaluate this type toy. She doens't get it!! -)
I ordered a set of these cards for my son at Christmas. There were a lot of duplicate cards, but he was still very happy that many of them were new to him. For a child that trades cards with others, the duplicates can come in handy. They were in excellent condition when we received them.
These are not new in original packaging! This looks like the seller just put together his rejects&sold for a high price. Over half of the cards I rec'd were Energy cards and/or Trainers... none of the others were rare, a few "uncommons", but many of them had duplicates... no foils or anything 'cool' for a preteen collector. I'm not satisfied for the dollar spent. Beware if you are a serious collector.

My grandson loves his Joey Magnetic doll. His sister has the girl magnetic doll and they can play together for hours. His super hero or police or fireman dress-up doll saves her princess doll from all sorts of tragety. They use their imaginations to create all sorts of scenerios.
I love this toy. Even after a couple of years my little ones still enjoy dressing and undressing the characters. I ask my kids to dress them according to the weather- "What should he wear if it's cold outside?" or dress accroding to a story. The set has held up surprisingly well and still looks nice. Although I wish the tray had a lid- kinda a pain to transfer or bring on a trip.
This is a great toy for a boy with a sister. My son has a sister that plays dress up and this is his toy to play dress-up.
I like this toy; I use it for work with preschoolers (speech therapy). Some kids like it but not all. It has a good selection of different "clothes" and appears to be very solidly constructed. I only wish the box had some type of lid; I thought it would have one of those slide-in plastic lids but it does not. I have to put it (and the girl set I got at the same time) in a separate box for transport.
Remember colorforms? This is the modern, sturdy, safer version!!! My son loves to play with this. It is definitely one of his favorite toys and yes dad likes to play with it right along with him. But be careful from the start: lots of pieces to lose. We moved ours to a ziplock back and that does the trick. Well worth the money!!!

We've been very pleased with Jenga. It's a lot of fun and the kids enjoy playing it.

The only reason I gave it four stars is that the stacking tool that helps you to quickly set up Jenga was made out of cardboard. The older sets had one that was made out of rigid plastic. It got ruined the first day and ended up in the recycling bin. This had made Jenga slower to set up.
You can't go wrong with a classic game like Jenga. Simple, engaging, and entertaining for the whole family. Appropriate for all ages. The beauty is in the simplicity. It comes with "extra" blocks, but in reality it doesn't matter much since a few lost pieces only means you lose a layer of the tower. The game can be played the same with or without them. This particular execution of the game comes with a handy and durable carry case. This game travels very well. So, we take ours camping to keep the kids happy during any bad weather. This should be a go to game in everyone's game closet.
this game is such fun...you don't really think of it with all the fancier games out there...but it really can't be beat. My 4 year old loves it...and is pretty good at it I might add.

This is a classic inexpensive game that should be in any house where kids live or visit. This and a couple other games have been enjoyed by my nieces and nephews when they visit and helps prevent any possible boredom if, like me, you are a proponent of leaving the tv off.
I purchased this game to use as part of a role playing game Dread: A Game of Horror and Hope. I had never played Jenga before, so my husband and I decided to set it up and have a few goes at it so we would know what to expect. We had no idea it could be so much darn fun. The concept is so simple and there are barely any rules. At each turn you must study the structure to find a piece you can remove that will not bring the tower down on your turn while trying to leave your opponents with no good options. Its sheer simplicity leaves a lot of options about game play - it could be a part of a trivia challenge, drinking game, or a host of other party games. The simplicity of the set up and ease of game play make it a great option for players of all ages and skill levels. Highly recommended!

Great game for get togethers and to break the ice for guests that do not know each other. Lots of fun!
This game sounded pretty good. Some questions are difficult. My major complaint is that for the social group that we are while playing it is quiet. You are only to respond when you think you know the answer. Board is quick to go through, but each round is slow because there's not much excitement.
This game is great. My kids got a kick out of the name, but fits many people you think they know it all! We've played it quite a bit and it's a blast.

The game can be complicated at first, but once you get the basic gist of it, it is one of the best games EVER.
The Cities and Knights expansion for Catan is a great purchase. When I read other reviews I was a little concerned that maybe it would be too complicated or add too many little extra things to keep track of to really be fun. This is not the case. The first time my friends and I played, it was slow going, and we did have to keep the rulebook on hand (and we are original Catan veterans), but once you've played two or three times everything falls into place and it's not distracting or difficult to keep track of all the different things you can do.

Also, the new progress cards (which replace the development cards from the original) are really cool. There are less straight-out victory points, and more original things you can do. Our favorites are "the inventor" which lets you switch two numbers on the board other than 2,12,6,8 (i.e. your opponent's ore tile becomes an 11 while your wheat tile becomes a 5) and "the alchemist" which lets you choose your own roll.

The only critiques I have of the game are that it takes a little longer in general than the original to play, there is a lot more stuff to pack up when you're done, and because there are so many more things you can do to your opponents to screw them over, I think this version might generate a little more group hostility than the original version.

All in all though, I am really glad that I made this purchase.
This is a fantastic family game. It usually takes a couple of hours to play but you don't get bored waiting for your turn because things are always happening and you have to keep on your toes.
We added this game to the original Settlers of Catan since we were having such a blast with it. There is a little more complexity to this but it was easily picked up by all of us. We are a family of five with our youngest at 13 and this has been a great addition for "family time". The added cards and rules make for a bit more action each turn and get you to think at a new level. Very clever how the creators have added the new stages and still kept the original flair for the game. I highly recommend this expansion to all SOC fans!
I bought this game as an extension of the original Settlers of Catan. It has added a dimension to the game. I can now map out a number of scenarios. I am glad I got the game.

To better reflect actual figure, they need to add his middle name when we are allowed to use it again after his trip to Arab countries.

Also, I'd recommend to restrict the head movement only left and right to better imitate his real model. Of course, that would require to add left and right teleprompters.

I am afraid the real puppet will self-destruct itself soon. Let's just use the policy towards Iran: wait and see!
After the election, I started looking for Obama memorabilia to put up in my office of my overwhelmingly conservative workplace. This is perfect. I put it on my bookshelf facing the door. His little wave seems to convey: "Ha, ha... it's our turn now!" In terms of likeness... don't expect an exact replica. I imagine it would be really difficult to get a mold to exactly resemble the real person. It's good enough.

I really recommend it.
I think we have found the source of Pres. Obama's economic recovery plan! He asks the wobbler and the wobbler says, "Great Idea!". Things are really going well, we all have to agree.

The CEO of my husband's company spoke with Pres. Obama (actually, yes, he did) to remind the President that telling folks to not travel isn't such a great idea for the travel and tourism industry. Hm. I wouldn't think a president of his intellectual caliber would need that type of reminder. Guess I was wrong. Unless Pres. Obama really isn't interested in 'stimulating the economy' so much as 'growing government size and power'.
This is nice and durable. Wanted one for my son for later in his life for history. Just what I was looking for. I bought 3 and glad to have them.

The circle insert was not attached to thte box when we opened it. We have rescrewed the insert back into the base. We'll see. I didn't have time to resend it back (or incur the cost). Other than that, the purchase was smooth.

Washers is a really fun game. Unfortunately this product is poorly built. The very first time we played a game with it, one of the plastic tubes broke off after being hit by a washer. (They're supposed to get hit by washers- but they're supposed to say in place!) Also, after playing that first game, one of the two latches holding the box together wouldn't shut.

If you're a handy person, these are not difficult things to fix (so far), but I'm wishing I had bought a better-made version by a different manufacturer.

If you're a fan of horseshoes, you'll love this washers game! It's the same basic concept only instead of tossing heavy horseshoes, you're throwing washers! It's great for kids too!

The only problem I found with the game was that the box is made of a relatively soft wood that dings very easily. After a while, the box looks pretty beat up from the washers banging on it. No harm in it though because it doesn't affect gameplay.

Great game to have on hand for outdoor use. I have a small backyard so there aren't many games that can be played when I have people over but this works out perfect. Everyone always has a blast when I take it out.
This is a great game. We bought this for Memorial Day picnic. Everyone could play. Unlike horseshoes, the women all loved the game. It's easy to transport. There's nothing to not like about this game. The coated washers are easy to find in the grass.. We loved it.
I have seen many of these washer pitching games in use that are hand made. But I really liked the professional clean look of this game and the fact that it closed up into a box so conveniently. I used this game at several events recently and it was a big hit with many of my guests. This is a quality game that is lots of fun and can be taken anywhere.

Melissa&Doug Solar System 48pc Floor
First I bought this product for my nephew who is 9 and has an interest in space. He loved it and kept taking it apart and putting it back together,
now he is going to glue and hang it on his bedroom wall. So I ordered two more for my grandson who is five and my sister's grandson who is 4.
They both love them. The four year old had a great rainy day putting it together and since he's wild about the planets lately he was really pleased. His parents recognized the Melissa and Doug product name and knew the quality of their puzzles. I wish they would come out with one that is large with the stars and the constellations, all three are beginning to have an interest in the night sky. Great durable pieces. Grandma M
This is the fourth M&D jigsaw puzzle we have purchased for my son (he just turned 3). They are a challenge, but a managable one. He gets a great sense of accomplishment when he finishes, and we get to identify the objects in the picture-another learning opportunity. The pieces are big enough for him to handle easily and they typically divide in such a way that it isn't too hard for him to find a match. Great opportunity for semi-guided learning through play. Very satisfied with the construction and quality of the puzzles as well.
My girls were so excited to open this at Christmas time. They were excited to recognize earth. As they put the puzzle together they were kneeling on the pieces trying to get the pieces where they need to go. The puzzle seems to be very strong where kneeling on them won't hurt them. The colors on the puzzle are sharp. I was very impressed. I think this puzzle is a good way to get your kids to know what planets there are and what they look like.
Our 3-year old granson loves puzzles. As usual, this Melissa and Doug puzzle if durable and educational.

You'll need lots of space to build this puzzle! Wonderful 48-piece puzzle of the planets and moons; made of extra-thick cardboard universally known as the thickest in the industry!

I bought it as a gift for my nephew. He loves it and plays with it almost every day. Very nice track.
What a great toy!!!!! My son (age 4) received this as a Christmas gift and it is all he wanted to play with. It is great. Everyone of all ages wants to play with it and asks where did you find that. I recommend this to anyone. It is durable. My son always wants to remove the bridge to make a cliff for the train and it still looks as good as new. My son loves Thomas and has plastic train tracks, wooden tracks, etc and he loves this more than any of the other tracks.
I purchased this for my grandson's 3rd birthday. It is an addition to a beginner set he already has. He and his daddy spend hours playing on the bedroom floor. I get to play with him when I visit. The quality of the system is appreciated by adults. My grandson loves the ability to make a train go around tracks and load and unload all the goodies. Even for a very active/strong little boy this has been an unbreakable set. We all enjoy a good time on the trains.

I looked all over Denver for this train set for my Grandson. Amazon was the only place I could find it,so it very special when the train arrived and my boy thought Thomas Train had been made especially for him. Your service is great,shipping on time, products fantastic.
My son loves this set. It was a little easier to put together then the other big trackmaster sets. It is durable, but my son can take it apart himself, which can get a little annoying. Overall I am pleased with this product. Amazon was the only place I could find it available and at a reasonable price.

Laying the Tracks
Before the fun begins, Thomas and his friends will have to wait for the railroad to be assembled. Detailed instructions with clear illustrations make building the track through Action Canyon an easy task. It does take a few minutes to sort out all the pieces and get a feeling for how their plastic connectors snap together. Once the bridge and the mountainous waterfall are in place, you need to place a single AA battery (not included) inside Thomas, so he can power uphill.

A Dramatic, Dynamic World
Be careful! One light tap on a secret button might cause the old rickety bridge to collapse right under Thomas. This colorful, sturdy track that runs through the unpredictable canyon is a great setting for imaginative play. Little engineers will love the switch that lets them pick whether Thomas busts through the waterfall or continues to the top of the mountain and on toward a daring descent.

Kids who have seen The Great Discovery or ardent fans of the Thomas and Friends TV show will love that they can immediately start recreating adventures, like the discovery of a long lost town on the island of Sodor, but familiarity with these existing storylines isn't essential. Any imaginative child will be able to enjoy a day at Action Canyon.

A Growing Circle of Friends
If climbing up a steep pass and zipping through a narrow passageway isn't exciting enough, Action Canyon can be combined with other TrackMaster sets to create a humongous world for Thomas to explore. Adding exciting, new destinations, additional engines, railcars, and trucks to liven up the secluded canyon is sure to make this set way more fun for multiple kids to play with.

The fact that Thomas only requires a single AA battery to run is convenient and economical, but he does labor a little bit on the steeper portions of track, which makes us wonder how he would fair pulling a heavy load. This seems a small concern compared with the potential of surrounding him and the Action Canyon with fun-loving friends and constantly evolving stories.
