(Ok product)
(Bath Toys So So) THESE BATH SQUIRTERS ARE SO CUTE I BOUGHT 3 SETS FOR OTHER CHILDREN. MY GRANDDAUGHTER LOVES THEM AND HAS A BALL IN THE BATHTUB WITH THEM. QUITE DURABLE AND EXCELENT TOY TO GET LITTLE ONES USED TO THE "BIG TUB" EXPERIENCE. SQUIRTING THEM ON THE CHILD IS FUN AND THE CHILD GETS USED TO WATER FALLING ON THEM OR AT THEM! TAKE A CAMERA, I GOT SOME TERRIFIC PHOTOS! These are super cute. I was going to put them in the goody bags for my daughter's Dora-themed party. Unfortunately, the company that shipped them (through Amazon) took their sweet time to get them to me :( Great little toys, perfect size for a small child's hands. My granddaughter loves playing with these, even out of the tub. the bath squirters are very cute for the money, as mentioned previously need to be enlarged about 4 times to make the real squirtes maybe the manufacture can do these from all the feedback. Very cute and cute to go on top of cupcakes. They're cute&that's all I say. They fall over don't squit well. Plus, the pait chips really bad&I didn't have them that long! They are not a must have! Moms like to keep their little ones busy in the tub¿so let these fun characters entertain them. They suck up the water and give a gentle squirt that brings lots of giggles. They're also a gas for making bubbles under the water. Rerations < Munchkin Dora the Explorer Bath Squirters >

(Good Model, but the Old Enterprise made of DIAMOND is better)
(Not the true enterprise 1701 last seen in star trek the undiscovered country)
(Completely Disappointed)
(Definetly Worth The Money) This ship from the new Star Trek movie is GREAT. The lights are 10x brighter than any of the old ships. The sounds are high quality, but they don't have enough of the different sayings like the original NCC-1701. This says 4 different things and that is it. BUT....the sounds with the lighting are tremendous ! Well worth the money ! Good Model, but the Old Enterprise made of DIAMOND is better, but it is cool have the two models, I will put some pictures. This is the JJ-Prise from the new movie. If you wanted that then buy this. If not then move along this is not the starship you are looking for.
Not to mention that they made a toy model when no model was built for the movie it was a computer graphic digitally generated image. I have been waiting for this toy since it was announced, and you can imagine my disappointment:
The box is about twice the size of the ship. So you end up buying a very tinny Enterprise. The overall quality of the toy is virtually non-existent, cheap plastic, cheap finishing touches, semi painted saucer bottom, lights come out from everywhere -not only from where they are supposed to come out from. All in all, it's a poorly made replica.
My deflector was also broken, so I think it's not about being careful opening the box, as some one else commented.
Unfortunately kids and adults are probably going to buy them anyway. There are other Star Trek Enterprise replicas out there (not from the 2009 movie, though) and most of them are just beautiful. So I can only say this: Paramount, pick some one else to make your toys, your 2009 movie deserves a great set of toys, certainly not the ones you are selling. I just got this at Target for $30 and it is worth the money. I like to sound that sounds like and alarm. When I hear it, I say like Kirk "Trouble on the Spaceboard". I have this displayed on my nightstand. I got this today with a Kirk glass from BK. The food was yummy so thank you for asking. I recomend this for Trekkies and fans of the new Star Trek film. So if you haven't seen it see it. And if you have see it again. I gotta go and remember Live Long and Prosper. This classic franchise with over 40 years of history will be back in the spring of '09! Authentic and detailed scaled model of the USS Enterprise ship as seen in the Star Trek movie. Features USS Enterprise sound effects and REAL Kirk and Spock dialogue from the Star Trek Movie!. Includes Delta Shield display base (with ball/socket attachment tip) that attaches to the bottom of the ship's lower hull, and allows the user to change the ship's position by 360 degrees! (Ouija Board)
(ouiga board)
(love the glow in the dark !)
(Why are there always fanatics?) a bit more flimsy than the old ouiji boards, but still a barrel full of teenage girl screams and giggles.... Fun to do, makes you think when the answers come out not the way you think they would. Makes you think we may have spirits around us. purchased this for my grandson-age 12. Played with this game many years ago and we all had fun with it. I love the newer glow in the dark version, i used to have this years ago as a child, I am now 38 and wanted to show nieces this amazing board I used to "play" with as a kid. Of course there are fanatics calling this toy evil because B movies give it a bad name but the fact is this IS a toy. This is a toy. It's a fun toy. It's a rectangular piece of card board with the alphabet drawn on it and then painted with glow in the dark paint. The planchet (the triangle thing) is plastic. It wasn't 'carved by Satan.' It's not Evil. It's a toy. Think about it. What self respecting demon is going to show up using a glow in the dark piece of plastic? If that's your idea of evil clearly you don't know about the cruelty and violence in the world today that you have to rant about a TOY! Get a grip!
Little girls use these at slumber parties and I've yet to see anyone sucked into Hell for asking the piece of cardboard 'Does Timmy like me?' Some of these negative reviews calling this evil and Satanic are out right silly.
It has always been mysterious. It has always been mystifying. And now...it glows in the dark! Just ask it a question and wait to see what answer the Mystifying Oracle will reveal to you. You and a partner sit on opposite sides of the board, with your fingers placed lightly on the message indicator. One of you will ask a question. Now concentrate very hard on the matter at hand - and wait for the indicator to move and begin to reveal the answer through its message window. Will it tell you Yes or No' Will it give you a number or spell out an answer' For centuries, players have brought their questions to the Ouija board. What you do with the information it reveals is between you - and the Mystifying Oracle! Game includes: Ouija board and plastic message indicator. For 2 players. If you've seen "The Exorcist" lately, the folks at Parker Brothers would like to extend a heartfelt "Captain Howdy-Ya-Do?" courtesy of their newly luminescent classic Ouija Board equipment. It's the same traditional setup as it was decades ago: the alphabet-and-numbers board with "Yes," "No," and "Good Bye" spelled out in turn-of-the-century mysterious script; the heart-shaped "Message Indicator Oracle" with the readout window; the numerous coy references to Ouija being "only a game--isn't it?" So if this edition seems to comprise a bit more plastic than we remember, the promise of the board and indicator glowing in the dark for half-an-hour (after exposure to lamplight for 10 minutes) more than makes up for it. Of course, in the dark you'll never know for sure whether the person across the board is the one pushing the indicator, now will you?--Tony Mason Rerations < Ouija Board: Glow-in-the-Dark >

(A vast improvement!) Starscream. He's the whiney transformer we all love to hate. We didn't get too much of him in the 1st transformers movie but hopefully he'll play a bigger role in Revenge of the Fallen.
For kids: This is one slick jet. When transformed it really looks like an F-22 Raptor and it has a cool paint job. It looks a bit like camouflage but is really Cybertronian in design. He has a unique transformation to robot form and features several spinning gears in his chest that move when his head is turned. His transformation is challenging without being overwhelming. I think kids will really enjoy this guy.
For adults: Sorry to compare to the 1st movie's toy of this character but it's a comparison that needs to be made - whether you have that one or not you'll probably get the point. I liked that one but this one puts it to shame. In jet mode the old figure looked fine but the underside was clunky and horribly fat with arms (which were really just huge missile launchers) and legs tucked under there. In all fairness it didn't even look like a jet from the bottom. Plus his head was always peeking out at you.
Well they went back to the drawing board with this one and man is it an improvement! This is not just a repaint. Instead of big and clunky he's sleek and smooth in jet form. The only robot bits visible at all are his hands otherwise this could be a cool little model of the F-22. The addition of the markings and symbols make him a bit more eye popping too and there are plenty of little sculpting details.
His transformation is totally different and is quite a bit of cool engineering. His head is completely hidden inside the jet and as he unfolds the body of the jet actually becomes the arms and legs and body instead of being all tucked under. It is an intricate but not an over complicated unfolding process. There are a couple of points to slot together and the tail fins that become his chest have two little black knobs that need to be matched to two little black holes as they are folded up into his body. This allows the "mech-alive" feature to work. It's a nifty little gimmick that when you turn his head several gears move in his chest.
This new Starscream may be a touch smaller than his movie 1 counterpart but the head and body sculpt are much more accurate. Plus he actually has hands. He also has missile launchers on top of his arms and he can shoot his projectiles. The only downside I could find what that the package seems to indicate "pop-up" missile launchers but they do not pop up and are just a solid piece of the arm. I won't knock off for that though since he's such an improvement in execution over the other.
He's a great fun figure with a great fun transformation that does not overwhelm. The first movie Voyager Starscream was a bit of a love-hate affair. There were some good things about it... but mostly it left a lot to be desired. Placed next to some of the better designs (e.g. Ironhide), it seemed... rushed.
Thankfully, Hasbro has responded to fan feedback and listened to the criticisms. ROTF Starscream is so much better that it leaves me wondering how the first one got out! The transformation is intricate but not overly complex, with a mech-alive gimmick that's actually quite nice. He's got hands this time, as opposed to just cannons for arms. The head sculpt is better, and overall he's not just cooler, but more movie accurate too. The best thing is probably the jet-mode: it's sooo much cleaner, with far less kibble underneath.
Negatives? He's quite a lot more difficult to balance, having smaller feet, whilst remaining top-heavy. The arms don't pose very naturally, and sometimes can be left in an awkward look (but hey, he's got hands!). And some might not like the new paintjob, which goes against the concept of a disguise.
Overall, this is still a very good Voyager. And so, so much better than the first incarnation. The moment his sensor net registered MEGATRON going offline, STARSCREAM knew the battle was over, and the AllSpark lost. He converted to vehicle mode and boosted for outer space, hoping to buy enough time to rally the DECEPTICON survivors. Returning from CYBERTRON bearing the marks won during his reign over the DECEPTICON army, he is focused on conquest. With a new army behind him, he has the strength to pursue his own goals, and perhaps, when the time is right, bring MEGATRON back. Prepare to do battle¿ DECEPTICON style! Fire either of two missiles from this eager enemy¿s pop-out missile launcher in robot mode. Activate gears with a turn of STARSCREAM figure¿s head! Or convert to an F-22 Raptor aircraft in vehicle mode and let your imagination soar! Recreate exciting scenes from the movieor create your own! Rerations < Transformers Movie 2 Voyager Starscream >

(Great)
(Love this puzzle)
(not an M&D puzzle we have not liked yet)
(Lots of Fun!) I recieved this puzzle really fast. I have used this puzzle to help teach my students at school habitats because it is a perfect picture of a safari habitat. I even loaned it to another teacher in my school for a project they were doing and they loved it. We bought this puzzle for our 6 year old son thinking he would need some assistance putting together such a big puzzle but it is designed in a way he can do it by himself. It gives him a good sense of accomplishment since it is such a large puzzle. The peices are very durable and he's put it together many times. I highly recommend. My 3 year old daughter loves the Melissa and Doug floor puzzles and this one is no exception. She loves all the animals in this safari puzzle. We also have "farm friends", "Dinosaurs" and "Under the Sea". I would recommend them all. She can do "farm friends" and "dinosaurs" completely by herself, and can almost do "Under the sea".
I think the puzzles have many lessons to teach them. I like that she has to learn patience and to work through a task to achieve her goal...it's not instant gratification. Having said that she feels a great sense of accomplishment once it is completed.
I also feel these puzzles are very durable as we set them up on the floor and they get walked on all the time. My 3 year old likes working on this puzzle with me. Sometimes his attention span is not quite long enough to finish it before he becomes distracted. The 48 pieces are well within his span of time, but the 100 is usually just outside of it. I recommend having both sizes on hand as the 48 pieces go too fast when he wants me to work them with him. The pieces easily resist both my 3 year old and my 1 year old crawling on them and chewing on them before I get them away from her. I bought three of these puzzles for my three year old son. He absolutely loves them. The pieces are a great size and the picture has a lot going on. This was a great purchase. The best graphics; largest size; and lowest priced floor puzzles in the business! These colorful; detailed floor puzzles are made of heavy duty cardboard that is 20% thicker than other puzzles; and easy to clean surface keeps puzzles looking new. Melissa and Doug(2006-06-12)

(good for pattern learning)
(Pattern Blocks/Boards Melissa and Doug)
(good educational toy)
(Needs some improvements)
This is a fun game for 4 or 5 and older. The concept is easy for younger ones to learn, but the boards are slippery and too hard for a smaller child to deal with on their own. It comes with a box to hold everything, but no top, so it is really not a storage box since the small pieces can easily spill out. Also a few of the puzzle boards have buckled slightly since opening the box a month ago. I like this product for pattern learning. In addition to replicating the patterns on the boards, I can also start a linear repeating pattern and have the kids finish it, which is good for kindergarten readiness and one reason I chose this toy. My 3yo and 5yo both like it. I prefer it over a magnetic pattern board because I try to keep the magnetic toys to a minimum since my home frequently has small babies visit.
My major problem with this toy is that the lid for the box is a flimsy plastic lid that tore after just a day. This seems to be a repeated problem with the Melissa and Doug brand: we have the same problem with the playfood collection and the letterboard toy. Some of them come with no lid at all, while the lids on the others are so flimsy as to be useless. The consequence is that the toys are difficult to store, and the pieces get lost or separated, which decreases the usable lifetime of the toy and negates the advantage of buying wooden toys that are meant to be kept for years. I keep the small pieces in a ziploc bag but this really doesn't work that well as the bag tends to get torn by the corners of the wooden pieces. I was searching for a product for a kindergartener who is easily bored, intelligent, and needs a challenge when I found this set of pattern blocks and boards. As a teacher's aide, I know these blocks are educational as well as entertaining. I bought this set on sale, so I got a great bargain as well as a great item! The blocks and boards are durable and well made. I highly recommend this set. It will stand up to the test of time. . .and little kids! This is a good educational toy. There were some number of pattern blocks missing, but the rest of the toy is good. The colour patterns could have been more distinct from each other,eg. when making patterns, the dark green has to be put alongside dark blue. But overall a good product. I loved pattern blocks as a kid. I remember playing with them in school and there were a ton of them. I never had a board or anything, just pushed them together, made designs.
We got this for my son when he was 4. It's all right... but I see there is a bucket with twice as many blocks (plastic) available on Amazon for the same price. No boards. I think that would be the better way to go. More blocks would be more fun - the boards are OK but more blocks would be better.
What really bugs me about this set, though, is there's no way to really keep it all together. It came with just a floppy flimsy plastic cover that didn't stay on - it just laid over the box. So you have this solid wooden box with loose pattern tiles flopping around in one side. We got my niece the M&D cutting board&food set when she was 2 or so, and later bought the same for my son when he was 2 or 3. My nieces came with a heavy plexiglass sliding cover - my son's came with no cover. I think that M&D have kind of cheaped out on packaging over the years. This should really have a heavy plastic sliding cover - it would make it so much nicer. We got rid of the flimsy plastic cover and I keep the tiles in a cloth drawstring bag - it's really akward though. I guess if you have shelves for toys it's not so bad but we tend to shove everything in drawers.
Anyway - all in all I guess this is just OK. I think you're better off going for just the tiles, in a bigger assortment. Keeps children engaged for hours in rewarding play! Features 10 simply designed colorful patterns; and over 100 pattern blocks in 6 different shapes and colors to replicate the pattern shown. Contents store neatly in durable wooden case. Develops shape recognition and spatial relations! Rerations < Melissa&Doug Pattern Blocks and Boards >

Skuut
customer 's review (The BEST first bike)
(Holes had to be re-drilled)
(excellent and durable!)
(Not like a REAL bike)
(A great Eco-friendly option) We ordered this for our grandson after we watched the neighbor children learn how to ride a two-wheeler before they were 3 years old. My daughter said he was so excited when the box arrived as it had the picture on the outside of the box. She said he was trying to get on it as his father was assembling it. Our grandson loves the scuut, but for a $91 toy we were surprised at the low quality of the workmanship. My husband had to redrill 2 of the holes in order to assemble the scuut. Our Skuut is going on two years and it looks (and rides) as new. I was browsing and noticed the recent bad reviews (which I guess are from competitors) so I wanted to give my two cents about the reliability of this bike. We love the skuut and the customer service was nothing more than excellent. We had a flat after about one year and I contacted the seller and Skuut; both replied quickly and I ended up with a free tube... yes free!
The materials are so similar to the likeabikes that I can't even tell the difference. Of course, you can't leave the bike outside in the rain :P In summary, it's a great bike with excellent customer service. I would recommend it any day of the week. We bought this for my 2 1/2 year old and put it together - was quite easy to assemble. But my son keeps looking for the pedals and is disappointed that there aren't any so he keeps putting his feet all the way up and falling off balance. I would have rather purchased a normal bike with pedals and training wheels so he could feel like the other "big kids" around the neighborhood with their bikes. it may teach balance, but it doesnt teach to "ride a bike" with pedals the way normal bikes do. At age 4, my son is an expert cyclist. For that, I have to thank Skuut balancing bike he received for Christmas. This bike receives many stares and comments, not only because it is made of wood but it has no pedals, no chain, no training wheels and no brake system. Yet my son flies past us downhill while my daughter (20 months older) yells at me to wait-up because she's braking, even though her training wheels holds her traditional bike in the upright position.
Not only does this bike met the claim of teaching children to ride a bike quickly, but being made of sturdy wood, protected with non-toxic lacquer, means that it will biodegrade at a much faster rate than metal if it should end up in a landfill. And the lack of mechanics means less to break, replace or maintain. Additionally, Skuut is a partner with Trees for the Future which has planted nearly 50 million trees since 1988. Skuut will ensure that a tree is planted for every bike sold helping to reduce CO2 naturally.
The only downfall to this bike, is you'll have to replace your child's shoe frequently as dragging their feet is the only breaking system, for that, I'd suggest your local Goodwill or consignment shop. Built for kids ages 2-5, the Skuut is a pedal-less, chainless push bike that moves by foot power ("Flinstone" style). Its the perfect introduction to cycling because its specifically designed to complement the motor skills of young children, teaching balance and control at a much earlier age than traditional cycles with training wheels. The Skuut is a great confidence booster. From the very beginning your child can make independent progress, pushing along to discover how it works. In a short while he will lift his feet and begin moving forward, balancing and reveling in their new found mobility! They will NEVER need a bike with stabilizers, which prevent the development of balance. Your child will take to riding a bicycle instantly and naturally. All parts are extremely robust and the body is made of heat-treated softwood and hardwood, coated with non-toxic lacquer. The saddle can be adjusted for height as your child grows. The steering is specially made so that kids cant turn to fast and tip over. Other safety features include Euro-styled wheels and no spokes (to prevent shoelace tangles). The Skuut come with a one-year guarantee - exceptional for a product aimed at young children! A first bike invariably becomes a child's favorite toy. Children have an urge for movement and discovery and the Skuut enables them to playfully acquire coordination skills, foresight and agility. The feeling of riding alone is an exhilarating experience which helps to build self-confidence and safety. Whether they imagine it to be a copy of Dad's mountain bike or a pretend horse, the Skuut will play an important role as your child develops. And when it's outgrown, it becomes not just another old toy, but a lifelong reminder of childhood dreams... Rerations < Skuut Balance Bike >

customer 's review (Small but Mighty)
(A gift)
(air hogs)
(A LOT of fun for a LITTLE money!)
(Disappointed Aunt) The review below was written by my 13 year old son.
This is a great remote controlled helicopter! My only concern is that the first one I bought was a defective. I flew it twice and the top rotor snapped right off. But then I returned it and got another and this one is working perfectly fine.
For those of you who live in a place with high altitude such as 7000 ft. just to take a little weight off your shoulders, it will work perfectly fine.
I do not suggest that you buy this for very small kids. They must be gentle because this helicopter certainly is not indestructible even though it is tough for a little helicopter.
This is a great helicopter and for those of you who want a low cost flying R/C this is perfect! Enjoy!
It may be cheaper from stores near you.
P.S You probably will need a reasonably large space to fly it in, like a living room. Great feedback from my Godson - but to be fair I havent seen it in action (or indeed in reality) so dont take my rating too seriously You get about what you pay for. With a little practice you can fly these things. But the remote doesn't have anywhere near the range advertised. You have 20 feet max then they drop like a rock. I would recommend them for a cheap way to enjoy SHORT flights. Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R3L7QSSJBH93H0Just want to say what a great invention this is, and unbelievably FUN for the money! And durable, we've flown it regular for the last 6 months. Ours has had some VERY hard crashes; many of them I thought "It's broke!", but it still flies great. I thought it was easy to learn, just takes a light and steady touch on the throttle, and just a TAP to "steer", that is rotate the direction you want to go. Launch away from walls, the rotor "wash" will pull it in. For the first minute, the power fluctuates some, then, it hits a "sweet spot" for several minutes. I can keep it flying the whole flight time (when one of our cats doesn't knock it down!). Don't be afraid to crash either. If it looks bad, best to kill the throttle and let it fall. Don't fly near people or animals' faces, use common sense; like anything, it could do harm if it hit someone, or something in the eyes. It helps to add weight to the front, a small piece of wire and some tape will do it. I wouldn't push something into the body, as a tack, it could damage the battery. You want just enough weight move ahead slow, experiment! You'll learn to work the "trim"; as the battery wears each flight, when you notice it start to turn on it's own, just a quick TAP the OPPOSITE way on the trim button to compensate will keep it straightened out; dynamic adjustment! One thing omitted from the instruction manual is you have to turn the handset on, to charge the copter. Make sure the copter is "OFF"&cooled down, then plug in the wire, it's small,&sometimes it takes a little wiggle, to keep the green charge light on. When the batteries get too weak in the controller, the red LED will look like it's pulsing, and it may not want to charge the copter. I like using rechargeable batteries in it. Another "hazard" is if the copter gets "out of sight" of the controller, as a fall behind a sofa. It 'remembers' the last command, so if that's throttle, it'll keep spinning until it "sees" the controller again. Just buy it!!! Terrible. I bought this for my 6 year old niece for her birthday. It was very flimsy and never worked from day one. Do NOT waste your money on this. Note: COLORS VARY AND SHIP AT RANDOM. customer 's review (You Get What You Pay For...)
(The "I-don't-have-anymore-excuse-that-I-have-to-watch-the-babies-instead-of-exercise" bike trailer)
(Great for what we use it for)
(Great for price ...)
(Horrible) Sadly, I have to agree with the other poor reviews. My 13 month old hates this thing. The seats are not comfortable for him; no matter how we try to adjust the straps they cut into the neck... and it gets very very hot in there even when biking in the shade. It is not really a smooth ride at all. I am very disappointed in this product. I loved this product and so did my kids. It's very easy to attach and detach to the bike and it folds up to save space. I also like the option of attaching a handle for running. And the price is perfect. I went to Walmart and Target and the trailers there were $[...] more expensive and didn't have the running bar attachment. I'm not a distance bicyclist by any means, my hubby and I just ride around town, for close errands etc. We have had great success with this so far, It works great for what we need it for. I love how easy it is to detach and use as a stroller, I was worried that switching would be a pain.
While it works perfectly for us, I do think babies would get overheated on longer trips, even with just the mesh screen up there's not a good airflow. I'm sure it wouldn't matter if it wasn't summer, and that may just be a characteristic of all trailers, I'm not sure. It doesn't cause problems for us really, but might for a distance biker. Also, I can see how it wouldn't work out well for multiple children. For just one, it's a comfy enough ride, but 2 would be falling into each other a lot. This is a terrific price for a trailer considering what else is out there, as in you pretty much have to take out a loan to buy a Burley, Chariot, or Croozer! However, this should be recommended for the occasional rider or for small children! THe problems with this trailer are: only one kid should sit in here, it IS tight, they DO get squashed together and it's just plain uncomfortable. I have 2 and 4 yr old boys who weigh 32 and 35 pds and it is not comfy for them. Small wheels, somewhat bumpy ride. The flaps are metal buttoned to the trailer. They are virtually impossible to get closed and will have you cursing the thing as soon as you try it. No tint on plastic windows.Still for the price you just can't beat it.
Do not buy this stroller. This stroller got a hole in it after the third day of using it. It is really made for one child. If you put two children in here they get smushed against each other. It is also hard to strap the children down into the stroller. Don't throw your money away on this junk. (lawn jarts)
(Enjoyable, but not durable)
(not the Jarts of old, but my kids enjoy it)
(Nothing like the original Jarts) I read all the reviews that said that the old darts were better because they had a metal point that stuck in the grass. So I will modify the darts to put a metal point on them so they will stick in the grass and I bought them anyway.
We have enjoyed these jarts. They are what I expected. I like the old ones better, but these are fun anyway. I don't mind the change in the tips from metal to rubber; however, as one of the other reviewers points out, the jarts do bounce quite a bit now. What bother me is the moving vanes (what I would call the fletching on an arrow) on the jart. The original lawn darts that I had in the 70s were one solid piece of plastic with the metal tips. The new jarts have vanes that slide up and down the shaft. The problem with moving parts is that they break. And after one session of play with my friend and his nine year old daughter, guess what? One of the darts now comes apart (the vanes leave the shaft) on nearly every throw. Given that the toy is meant for family play, I think I should expect that they last more than one session with a nine year-old. The kids enjoy the game and that is the major criteria. I used the old version when I was a kid, so I am a little more critical. This version doesn't have the point that will stick in the ground (the old version was outlawed because some felt it would stick in the body as well).
This version you may need some new rules- what do you do if the jart slides under the circle?
The short story is my kids like the game and I don't see a safety risk to the new version. I would buy it again. The supplier was wonderful but this is certainly nothing like the original Jarts game...pretty boring as this new style doesn't stick in the ground to get points...probably would be better to just throw colored rocks in a circle... The classic lawn game has returned for more backyard fun! Players take turns tossing two safe jarts into the ring 35 feet away. Score a ringer and nab 3 points. The player closest to the ring earns 1 point. The aerodynamic take on horseshoes is guaranteed to save backyard barbecues, one toss at a time! Includes 4 Jarts, 2 target rings and instructions.
