Gave this to my niece a few weeks ago for her 2nd birthday and she still loves playing with it. It's very well crafted out of wood and encourges her imagination and social skills to play with family and friends. She will even prop up her dolls and stuffed animals and have a tea&cake party with them. I have also noticed from singing the "Happy Birthday" song outload she now sings it by herself with the same melody and voice inflection we use when we sing the song. Overall, a nice item to be enjoyed over and over again.
I bought this as a birthday present for a 2-year-old boy and he loved it! He loved decorating the cake and then sharing slices with others. It is such a cute gift and is nice for either a girl or boy. The wooden pieces were sturdy and looked like they could withstand repetitive play. I would buy this again as a gift for another young child and also for my own son who is 1 and a half (despite the recommended age of 3+).
My three kids always liked to play "Birthday Party". So I got this birthday cake set for my daughters' 3rd birthday. Out of all the gifts she got, this was the one she wanted right after opening it. My kids play with it almost every day. Sometimes they pretend it's pizza too! My only complaint would be that there are not individual serving plates for the pieces of cake.
My son has the Pizza "puzzle" like this, and my 4-year-old nephew loves it. Instead of getting him the exact same one, we just got him the Birthday Cake kit for his 4th birthday. He loves it, too! My only complaint is some of the things to put on the cake (gumdrops?) are kind of random...

My nephew has cerebral palsy and has a hard time with any fine motor skills, and this has been great therapy for him, because he can learn to cut, put the decorations in specific places without having to fit them into jigsaw patterns as with a real puzzle, etc. I would recommend this to anyone with kids who have a similar case of CP.

This is a great toy for 7 year old boys. My son loves it, as he does most Lego Star Wars items. It is fun putting it together and playing with it once it is complete.

It's Awesome! Its all i play with when i play with my lego's. The clone commander is good to have for sentimental reasons. The turret does fall off sometimes but its easy to put back on. The rockets are easily fired if you have good thumb muscles. Overall, anyone with a star wars interest should buy this. But beware! I've heard of cheats charging $20 for this $9.99 lego.

I like these smaller sets for lego, making lego affordable for kids who buy their own toys. This has the clone walker, four clone troopers and weapons.

It was pretty easy to put together. It has stayed together very well and who doesn't love extra lego dudes.

My son has always liked sharks. That's why I got this puzzle for him. He's already 3 and a half. So I was a bit concerned this 3+ puzzle might be a bit too easy for him. But it turned out not.
My 3 1/2 yr old LOVES this puzzle. He even stays in his room after "quiet time" is over to complete the puzzle! Quite durable, just hard enough to be challenging. Great price. I'm going back to buy the Dinosaur Puzzle!
The pieces are thick so they don't bend and break like most other puzzles. My only complaint is some of the pieces already had some paint wearing off upon opening the package. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase.

I was given this as a gift for my son and I was excited when I found out it was a Melissa&Doug product but unfortunately, it was NOT a wood puzzle, unless you count cardboard as wood.

The image is gorgeous and the pieces are huge and easy for kids to handle and hard for them to lose but unfortunately, my two year old figured out how to peel them apart in less than a week. The edges also bend easily making it hard for a young child to put the pieces in place properly.

This is a beautiful puzzle but not a durable one.

Good price and service. Melissa and Doug make an excellent toy very durable and realistic appearance. My grand daughters love all their toys. Would recommend and will purchase from this vendor again.
Thought these would be great for play, especially in my daughter's play house. However, the paint on these is not long wearing. The paint has chipped off and peeled away after getting wet outside and my son using them as a teething toy for short durations before you see that he has found them.Not what you really want. Surprised as the Melissa and Doug toys are usually pretty great quality.
My first experience with Melissa and Doug wood toys and I am very satisfied. I hope the velcro holds up. Bought this for my 2 year old grandson and he knew what to do with it right away, and how to use the knife to cut his sandwich apart.
I have a daughter that is blind and has other disabilities and this is perfect for her. My 4 year old enjoys them very much as well.

I can't say enough about melissa and Doug toys! They are classic and educational! I got this as a gift for my son who turned two he loves this and will play with it for hours! I own an in home daycare and this toy is a big hit with all of the kids 1 years of age to 8! Well worth the money!
We love this toy. It is sometimes with her playroom kitchen, and sometimes in my real kitchen. The little crate it comes in is very cute, but we keep the pieces in a shoe box with a lid, because sometimes my 2 year old shakes it in transit. I also have a 2 month old, and I'm planning on taking the carrot out of the set when the baby starts crawling, because it could be a choking hazard, but the other than that it should be fine. My 2 year old loves cutting the pieces, and says she's "yust yike momma" when she has them out.
I gave 4 stars for educational, but it could have been 5, because I like that, besides working on motor skills, all of the food is healthy, and so it's emphasizing good food choices.

Have you read the WSJ article "What Won't You Do for a Job?" where Melissa&Doug are highlighted as putting applicants through an interview process so grueling that one job seeker left in tears. The article states that candidates must bring their lunch and three years of W-2 statements. W-2 statements? You have to be kidding me. People feel bad enough about being unemployed these days and Melissa&Doug Toys make them beg and jump through hoops for a job.

I for one will not be purchasing anymore Melissa&Doug products going forward and will be lobbying everyone to boycott their products as well. I am sure that you know someone who has been effected by the economic downturn and who has lost his or her job.
My 2 year old son absolutely loves this toy. We originally discovered it as speech therapy, and since he liked it so much, we bought it for him to play with at home. The wooden pieces are high-quality and make a satisfying "crunch" sound when cut. We liked it so much that we also purchased the cutting fruit crate which is also made by Melissa&Doug.
How many times has my daughter seen me cut her food and want to do it herself...lots! I was surprised at how easy this was for her to do by herself (2.5 years) This was one of her favorite kitchen toys. Putting the foods back together to do it again was a bit more challenging. She loved to do this over and over again. As always, Melissa&Doug toys are quite durable!
This set contains eight pieces of wooden food, a cutting board and a wooden knife. Food makes a fun“CRUNCH” sound when sliced. With 31 pieces, it’s also a great way to introduce the concepts of part, whole and fractions.

We bought this tent for our 11 month old at the beach. We decided to try it out in the backyard while we did yard work and in his room to play in. It's as sturdy as you'd expect with tent poles. if you jump on the top it will probably break the poles, but the pockets that hold the ends of them are woven and sturdy. It keeps him out of the sun while allowing the breeze to cool him. My only complaint is that the door is shut with 5 pieces of velcrow, not very effective in keeping the bugs outor the baby in once they learn they can lean on the door and the velcrow would come apart.
Easy to assemble, nice carrying case. A must have to protect the little ones from the sun.
We were able to take our 1 month old to the beach in Hawaii with no worries. We set our bags in the tent which ensured it would not fly away, and then set down our little boy in his Bobby. He napped mostly, but we were able to lay down (outside the tent, it's not that big) and play with hime inside the tent. It was large enough for me to get in with him to breastfeed and the mesh made sure it stayed nice and cool. Anyone who is afraid it will fly away, just put something inside it! Great value for the money.
My son was 10 months old when I purchased this for outdoors. He kept trying to get out of it by trying to get through the sides, so it would end up tipping over with him in it. Maybe this is good if you have a passive baby, but not so active.
I didn't give it 2 stars for durability or educational either. I give it 1 all around.
This is great for the back yard, swim club or the beach. It has an SPF30 rating so along with the shade you are also giving the little one extra sun protection. It's very easy to put up and take down.

My twin 2 1/2 year old boys love this. However, I can see the issues others were having; the arm is flimsy, and does come flying off occasionally (I may have my husband do what another reviewer did - drill a hole and put a zip string through it). The velcro is a bit too strong, but I noticed someone wrote an update a year after he had the toy, and mentioned that the velcro relaxes over time.

While putting it together, I did something by accident (I'm blonde, so give me a break), that actually worked out to my benefit. I put the base in backwards. So the "plate" is on the opposite side of the ball arm and tether. Instead of turning it around (i.e. taking it all apart), I have one of the twins step on the ball release button, and the other holds the bat and swings at the ball, without hitting his brother in mid-swing. The good thing about the velcro being super sticky, is that it forces my boys to swing again, and again....making their aim better and better each time. Now I look out the kitchen window and see my boys taking turns and not beating each other over the head with the bat and T stand like they did with the Little Tikes T-ball set.

Take the bad with the good; it's a good deal for a product that keeps the kids entertained. P.S. FP really needs to sell extra balls right along side the BB Batter product. 3 balls are not enough.

Order the Better Batter Baseball toy after playing with the toy at a friends birthday party. My twins 3 1/2 year old boys could not get enough of baseball batter toy. Toy arrived, assembled the toy and the baseball arm would not turn off. Called Fisher Price. They stated that I needed to return the "relay assembly". I asked the woman on the line what was the "relay assembly". She did not know. Now have disassembled toy in back yard. Cheap made in China product with terrible customer support from Fisher Price. Three boys under the age of 4 and I will not be buying products from Fisher Price for my kids anyt time in the near future.

Frustrated Father.
My 3 year old nephew loves baseball and when he saw the commercial on TV for this he looked at his grandma and said "I'm going to get me one of those grams." So of course we ordered it for his 3rd birthday. He loves it and will one day be in the major leagues! I have a feeling the velcro will eventually lose it's stick on the balls, but it would be easy to replace. I recommend this to anyone who has a child who loves baseball.
We have played with our Better Batter Baseball and loved it so much. I have two boys ages 4 and 2 who cannot get enough of it. However the arm got stuck in mid-position which means the toy will not work. Amazon has been great about getting us a new one and it should arrive today. My hope is that we just got a bad one and that the new one will last years! We shall see.
OK, my son is not within the reccomended age for this toy, he got it for his 2nd birthday and LOVES LOVES LOVES this!!! Yes the velcro is super sticky, but I will take that over non sticky velcro. My son just takes an extra swing or 2 at the ball. He understood exactly what he was supposed to do from the beginning and needs no help playing this, much to his older brother and sister's diappointment. The ball loader has taken quite a few hits already (he IS only 2 LOL) and so far is holding up just fine.
My 6 year old daughter, who just started T-ball, is itching to try this as well so hopefully I can add on to this review with her experience.

Worked well and the kids loved using them with the Slip N Slide. Rough boys didn't break them so they are quite durable.

The product canme in a timely manner, but our summer is over and we have not been able to use it.
I purchased these with the double lane slip&slide for my grandson's birthday. The kids had a blast with them but they aren't very durable. One only lasted for a day and the other 3 for about 3 days worth of use. I guess quality isn't an option anymore.
Ths boogie boards are ok, I wish I could have purchased one like the oringinal one with handles. Even if it cost more money, it was better quality.

My son loves this trike, it is easy to put together and very sturdy. Compared to other trikes I have seen, it is very stable and does not tip over around corners.
I ordered this for my daughter's 2 year birthday. She LOVES this bike and I love the fact that it's so well made--no plastic (except the seat). Rubber tires and a metal frame, not to mention the cool long black fringe hanging from the handle bars and the wood platform on the back--very retro. There is room for her to grow into this bike as well. At 2 she hasn't quite mastered pedaling, but she's close to it! I would definitely recommend this bike, especially if you are looking for something well made that will last.
This is a well built tricycle that is built for kids ages 2 to 4.
I bought this for my 2 1/2 year old daughter as she was jealous of her two older sisters who have bicycles. We had an old cheap big wheel but it did not fit her well. She is beyond attached to this trike. As soon as it came in she helped us put it together and took her only about 15 minutes to learn how to peddle it around.

This trike is one of the best designs i've seen. The seat is lower than others making it a bit harder to tip over. My daughter is very small for her age, and the seat adjusts enough that she is able to ride it without a problem.Great design, beautiful styling and great performance. One of my favorite purchases i've made for my children.

I really don't konw how other brands can charge so much more than the price of this trike with IMO, far inferior design and build quality. Highly recommend this trike. I'd give it 6 stars if I could as my little girl gets such a huge smile riding it and she easily rides it around the 'loop', a .6 mile circle that we live on. And when we finish she's ready to go again.
Other reviews here say it well, but let me say it my own way. My wife and I were recently visiting our 2.5 year old granddaughter. One big issue is that many trikes just won't work for too small a child, and this child is only 5th percentile, but very busy and happy. We ordered this for her when he had only a few days left on our trip, and it arrived in 2 days with standard shipping.

Schwinn has been through its ups and downs, so I was a bit worried about quality, but it was very well built, with pneumatic tires. One should have a bike pump handy to keep them pumped up occasionally. The seat has a number of positions to accommodate children of different heights. The position farthest to the front was mildly tricky, as the curve of the frame made it difficult, but it wasn't that hard to do. We're talking steel and sturdy plastic seat here, not the flimsy stuff we saw other trikes made with.

There is the rear deck for a child to push on, etc., and that's plywood. It creaked a bit scarily when I put my weight on it at one time, but it stayed intact.

Other trikes easily tip. This one would take a lot of effort to tip, but just the same, a helmet is the rule.

Our granddaughter loves her "bike." She still hasn't quite figured out how to use the pedals, but she pushes herself along the ground and enjoys it. The only negative is that the trike is not compact. It will not fit in a Toyota Corolla's trunk, but has to go in a front seat. The handlebar could be removed to make the fit happen, but that's a bit of work.

This should last for many kids, from a bit over two to at least five in age. In this case, they really do build them like they did in the past.
