『You might be trying to save money and get these instead of another more popular block brand. Do not do it.

We received this fire engine as a gift. It has resulted in much frustration.

The short story is that Best-Lock sets have the following problems:

1. They are not very sturdy. Several pieces from this set have already broken after a few hours of play.
2. They do not stay together very well. In fact, the pieces fall apart from each other all of the time.
3. The directions are terrible.

(Not Lego, not by a longshot)

『I picked up this kit after price comparing to Lego and seeing that the cost was approximately half that of Lego, on a per piece basis. Don't be fooled even though the box says it is compatible with other building toys, referring to Lego and Mega Blocks. The plastic is far more brittle than Lego. This makes connecting the blocks more difficult, especially for little hands. There was inconsistency with the tolerance of each connection as well. Some fit very tightly, while others would just fall off. Even the assembly directions, which are styled after Lego's, are not easy to follow, and the pieces used to create the model seem bizarre.
This just further serves to hammer home the notion that Lego is an unmatched toy. Lego gives years of reconfigurable play; their quality control leaves me wondering how they can be so darn good.
Lego is definitely worth the few dollars more every time.

(can you say over-priced?)

『My son wanted this Lego for Christmas and not knowing anything about the toy, I purchased it here. I thought that $13.95 was kind of high, but I did not realize just how small the toy was. When my son found out how much I paid, he was aghast and told me that on Legos website it is only about $3. Now I see that the price has come down some, but there is no longer Super Saver free shipping on it. Please save your money and purchase this elsewhere at a more reasonable price. It is tiny, and not worth the high price!』

『My 6 year old ordered this with gift money from his birthday. He loves, loves, loves this "awesome" gift. He makes all different things with the Lego pieces, rather than just the items on the directions. He loves creating new things, letting his imagination go wild. I love watching him play and create.』

He also has a jet pack on his back. There is a little grabber on the top of the dog's head so you can put stuff on it.』

(My 5 year old LOVES this toy set)

『My 4 to 5 year old wanted a castle for Christmas and I was thinking these blocks would be too hard for him to put together. I was told by a friend that their 4 year old loves his TRIO sets so I went ahead and bought it . My 5 year old loves this castle set, I also got him a few of the add on sets, and plays with it every day. He can snap the blocks together easily, a few of the pieces ,like the flags, take some effort but he is able to add them to the blocks himself. The initial building of the castle a adult will have to do for this age group as the instructions are detailed but after that just let the kids "go for it". Great for the imagination - Spiderman and Batman help battle the "bad knights" for example.』

『My four year old got this for Christmas instead of the Legos he wanted. These did cost more but the Legos were all sold out. I thought this would be a great replacement but they weren't. The only problem I have with the Trios are the fact they are hard to take apart. Even my husband and I had a hard time breaking the pieces apart. I do not know how they expect small children to he able to. If your child is nine and older (or really strong) then these are great but don't expect a five for six year old to be able to put these together.』

『Santa got this for my 4.5 year old twin boys. I put it together. It's not hard to put together, but I think maybe a little hard for their age. They have not played with it very much. But, I think in time it will be a favorite. Once they learn how to put the pieces together themselves.』

Bought this set for my 28 month old grandson. He loves playing with the magnetic sticks. They are colorful and pretty big in size and you dont have to worry about them going into their little mouths. Very entertaining. I highly recommend this item!!』

『My 20 month old son received these for Christmas. I wanted to get him something w/magnets as children love to play with them. He is very happy with these as he likes to walk around the house with the pipes connected one to another to make a long pole. To make a structure of some sort he does need my assitance. The magnets are not strong at all and I fear that by the time he is big enough to build on his own he will have outgrown them and will desire something with more building power. Having said that, they are a great toy for the time being and he does enjoy playing with them.』

A Customizable Medieval Adventure
King's Castle features the all-new TRIO building system. Using easy-click bricks, pegs, and panels, TRIO makes it possible to build a wide variety of different structures -- ranging from castle parapets to catapults. Best of all, the system is easy for kids to work with, and requires very little force or finesse. They'll be able to hear and feel the "snap" when they've made a connection.

The set comes with easy-to-follow instructions on how to build several different castles. Children can choose to follow these examples, or build a castle of their own design. The set also comes with several unique building components, including a working drawbridge, a breakaway wall, and several graphical panels that can be switched depending on the situation.
