The steering doesn't work as advertized. The steering range is only about 1/2 of what the picture shows, but with a small modification, it can be made to go that far. The piston is not attached directly to the rear axel as the picture leads you to believe, but is turned by two gears, one on the axel, and one on the rod that turns the piston. Once it's built, though, it has a very low profile. It sits very low to the ground, just like the real thing. It also has a very "fast and mean" look to it, no matter what angle you look at it from. However, it is not for the begginning builder. Sometimes, Technic can be hard to work with. In closing, good job Lego Co., they've produced a very nice set.』 『If you're in for a fun construction project, but don't want to make anything that would be considered street legal, try this awesome Technic Go Kart! But I was disappointed by this product - it's rather pricey, and the item is quite small (as a reviewer on another site mentioned, it's about the size of a US dollar bill, and about four inches tall.
The FLW Fallingwater model was much more interesting, and although more expensive is larger, more fun to assemble, and more true to the architecture of the place. Also, the Fallingwater model has a nice book that gives lots of details about the construction, while the Guggenheim model book has minimal information about the museum.』 『LEGO Architecture: Frank Lloyd Wright's Guggenheim Museum 21004』

We quickly figured out how to build all of the bugs in the booklet and moved on to making some really fun&wacky stuff! The blocks snap together and come apart very easily. My 4-year-old sometimes needs help attaching legs, eyes and arms, but he can usually get them in far enough that they stay. I'm hoping those connections get looser with use over time. The finished structures stand up to being played with and knocked around. I can see how some parts might be difficult for a 3-year-old to assemble. Would recommend for 4+.』
(This is hard for adults to use!) 『I got it as a gift and was very disappointed. The blocks are OK, but legs and eyes are very hard to connect. Even I have to apply force, and my 3 year old gets nothing but frustration here. I don't think I will consider buying any trio after this experience.』
(Fun&educational for little ones!) 『My two older kids (ages 4 and 2.5) have had so much fun playing with these! The 4 year old likes Legos but I get tired of stepping on all the little pieces and worrying about them being choking hazards. These are much more age-appropriate and there are lots of ways to build. So far they have built houses, castles, boats, and the bugs of course. This set includes 54 pieces and is a good value. I had a coupon for [...] off from the Fisherprice website also. A booklet comes with the set that gives you pictures of 6 creatures you can create and it lists the blocks you will need so you can figure out how to build it. Even my 2.5 year old didn't have problems snapping them together, just needed some help breaking them apart. But that's fine with me, would rather have things actually stay together than have creations fall apart! Lots of fun and allows kids to use their imagination to create!』
(First the Crazy Creatures then the 100 piece set) 『We picked up the Crazy Creatures TRIO set one day while in Target. My son, who is 4, absolutely loved it! In fact he loves them so much we picked up the 100 piece set today - good fun. Yes some of the pieces are a little challenging for him to get together, but I help when needed and we all have fun.』
(Mixed but Successful New Block System) 『I'm responding to the one star review, primarily because that is MUCH too harsh a review.
Indeed, though, there is a real, potentially serious issue with the Trio blocks and that's the fact that they aren't super easy to assemble for some little hands. They take a bit more strength to attach, especially compared to Mega Blocks or Duplo. Parents WILL need to help young ones with assembly, chances are, so beware of that.
There is a HUGE plus side to this, however. They are TOUGH. You can build something and it STAYS built. Kids can actually play with these sets and they'll more or less stay together. I found that my little guy eventually became very used to assembly and could easily put a fin or smaller link joint back on if it ever fell off. And eventually, he was building with the set, too, from scratch (that tougher linking takes getting used to, but he got used to it pretty quickly--he's not even four years old yet).
Mega Blocks and Duplo fall apart. Constantly. They fall apart if you look at them too hard.
Overall, I've been very happy with the set. It's well priced. You can build a lot of different things, with practice. And it's TOUGHER than just about any other set out there.
This won't help you buying online, but I noticed that boxed sets at stores have sample trios for you to try, built in right on the handle of the box. This might be worth feeling in person to get a sense of size and how easy or difficult it may be for your child to push these together or take them apart.
』 『Easy to build, so many ways! Easy-click bricks, sticks, and panels make building a snap. Kids can build all kinds of crazy creatures, or create things all their own. Includes 54 pieces. All pieces in the TRIO Building System work together. Collect them a』

(Not so hot for the under-5 group) 『I bought this toy after reading many reviews. Conceptually, still looks like a good deal. However, my daughter (4 at the time of this writing) did not take to this toy. She did play around with it a little bit, but it did not capture her imagination for very long. Perhaps if she were older, and could follow the instructions more easily, it would have been more engaging. As an adult, I tried to put together some of the models in this kit and found some of the ZOOB joints required dexterity beyond a 5 or even 6 year old. Sure, some of the simpler projects were not all that tough, and could be followed if you were a patient 5 or 6 year old. I would look elsewhere for the under-5. For instance, my daughter has much more fun playing with magnatiles, or playing with magnets or going through science kits for 6+ age group, than working through this. I would strongly recommend magnatiles, as they can encourage creation without such heavy demands on fine motor coordination.』
(Good open-ended toy) 『My son (6) loves building toys - Legos, K'Nex, Magnatiles, Lincoln Logs, Zoobs, etc. These don't get played with as much as the K'Nex, Legos or Magnatiles which are his favourites, but he does pull them out regularly and enjoys building with them.
Each piece fits into others in different ways. It's totally open-ended which I love, so one day my son can build a dinosaur and another day a snake and another day a cage for a dinosaur or snake :)
The pieces are plastic but quite durable - no broken pieces yet and my son has had these for a year.
This set (250 pcs.) is a good amount - not overwhelming but plenty to make a lot of different things to play with. Grandma is giving him a Zoob wheel set this weekend when we get together for Christmas so I'm sure that will add some good play value to the set as well. 』
(Mom says buy more Zoobs) 『My granddaughter is turning 12 this week. My daughter says get more Zoobs, you bought some a long time ago. She says they are used a lot. There is also a 7 year old in the family. I remember playing with these last summer at their house. We were squabbling over pieces because there weren't enough! So I will get more!』
(This toy in many ways is better than Lego) 『We got this toy for my daughter's 4th birthday. This said, it might be slightly advanced for a 4 year old (but the age recommendation is 6 and above). She still managed to play with it and had lots of fun doing so. (though I think I had more fun LOL)
One thing that made me lower its durability rating is that it is made of all these parts that can be lost, but again it is not for the young children.
It is a wonderful toy though, because the possibilities are unlimited. One can make figures, animals, balls, etc. Wherever your imagination and creativity takes you. It is also cool that one can bring supplementary accessories.』 『Ingenious fun as kids design fully mobile creations. Build shapes, weaves,&23 creations from Zoobot to Zoobasaurus. Experience the freedom of building with Zoob 250. A plethora of pieces to create bigger&more amazing structural wonders. ZOOB pieces snap, click&pop together to form joints that rotate, limbs that extend, axles that spin. Full instructions. 250 assorted pieces (50 of each ZOOB piece), storage box.』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Toddler's Delight) 『Both my granddaughter at 16 months and children on both sides of her age group have loved this toy. It immediately attracts and entertains the attention of babies as well with it's bright colors and smooth, but textured surfaces. The shapes give lots of room for blooming imaginations. No visible issues, except that my dog is also drawn to the blocks and her "signature" is on one of the arches now. (They are, by the way, easily cleaned.)』
(great quality and fun to play with) 『We bought this set 2 months ago for our 10 month old boy, and it has been one of his favorite toys. The design and quality are great. He is only 11 and half months now, and knocks down what I build for him faster than I could build. However, he studies the details (color patterns are different on each one of them) of these blocks, and likes to push them around like pushing his car toys. He chews on them of course, but I only noticed a few marks left on the block, no peeling paint or prints. I am sure that we will enjoy it even more after he acctually participates the buiding process.』
(Perfect fist blocks!) 『I bought these blocks as a Christmas gift for my then 9 month old son. He is now almost a year has absolutely loved these blocks from the start. They are the perfect size for little hands and have lots of special accents that add to their interest - bells, mirrors, painted designs, etc. Because they are small, he can easily fill containers with them, dump them out, stack them, bang them together...I did remove the smallest block because it fit in his mouth a little too well, but the others seem safe to me. These blocks are by far his favorite toy. I highly recommend them!』
(Great blocks!) 『These blocks are great. They are bright, colorful and entertaining to both my daughter and myself. Love them!』
(Twins' delight) 『Haven't actually seen this toy as it was sent to my grandchildren, so my response is based on their mother's comments which may be grandparent biased!』 『Preferred Choice Creative Child Magazine, 2004. Usually ships in 24 hours Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Fun Toy with Many Little Parts) 『This toy is fun because of all the moving parts. The problem we found was that although the box says ages 5+, it really is tough to follow the directions. The directions only show about 4 pictures for the entire machine you are trying to build. I would say this is better suited for 8+. My 6 year old enjoys playing with it after I put it together. Be sure to buy a storage container for all the little pieces.』
(Age recommendation seems off) 『My son received this for his 5th birthday and we were both a bit surprised at how tiny the pieces are. In my opinion, this should be for older kids (maybe 7 and up???) and this is why I give it a low rating. This seems pretty complicated for the preschool crowd. He really enjoys the Kid K'Nex sets which are much more his speed. (He has about 4 Kid K'Nex sets and enjoys them all.) We'll hold unto to this for when he gets a little older.』
(great education toy) 『I gave this toy to my son when he turned 5. After about 2 months playing with the toy, he can now build the models on the back of the box by himself. He loves the toy. I highly recommend it.』 『Build jet planes, tow trucks and dragsters. This multi-model set is packed with more than 400 parts, including classic and micro K'nex, bricks and wheels. Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Good deal) 『My kids really enjoyed having extra people in their lego collection. It spurs lot of symbolic play and language. I don't like picking up the tiny pieces, but welcome to the world of legos.』
(Lego review) 『I bought this for my son for Christmas. He loves legos and the more figures he gets with each set of legos the better. That is why he asked for the community workers set for Christmas this year. Everything went good from the ordering to the shipping and arrival. He sat and put them all together right away. Some are on bikes, some on skateboards etc.....Legos are great toys to help them think and use their imagination.』 『30 LEGO mini-figures at work with their tools help children play out roles familiar from their own lives. Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Disappointing--Tough to Assemble) 『We also found this robotic arm to be too difficult to assemble. Our issue was with the motor houses that you have to build yourself. The nuts kept shifting, making the screws impossible to thread in all of the spots necessary. I am 42, fairly mechanical and rather patient. But, I gave up and we never got the thing fully assembled. My 8 year old son, not as patient but more mechanically-minded, gave up too (not the lesson I was looking for!). Ironically, we found the rest of the arm to be fairly simple to put together. If it wouldn't have been for the motors, it would have been great. Big Christmas disappointment.』
(Great educational value) 『The assembly for this robot can take a few hours but in the process gives valuable insight to someone looking into the workings of a generic robotic arm. I used the assembly process to educate myself on how gear ratios and translation of axis-of-rotation work. Most of the components of the robot are generic enough so they can be re-used in one's own projects (like hooking up the arm to an Arduino board for example) if you want to take it beyond what the kit was designed to do. At less than $50, a great tool for someone looking to get exposure into the mechanism of robots!』
(Not for everyone, great for the mechanical minded) 『The most difficult step is building it properly. You must take your time and offer loads of patience. The rewarding part takes place when construction is complete. The robotic arm is adjustable(you can assign different functions to different buttons and switches), flexible, and inexpensive when compared to others of similar quality. If you like toys and gadgets of this nature, I would strongly recommend it, I really enjoy it!!!』
(a good first DIY robot) 『My 7 yr old daughter built this in about 8-9 hours. Supervision all throughout is required as parts need to be cleaned from excess plastic, and tightened properly. Some parts will need to be positioned precisely (like the clamp module). The quality of the plastic is quite good. It is similar to plastic model toys. While building, test the motors with a pair of wires to a battery if they can turn the gears properly before closing them in their housing. One electric motor failed to even work out of the box, so to make it work, I had to open it up and reposition the rotor and clean the contacts. My daughter now has some exposure of how those gears work to move something. She got to use a screwdriver, cutter, pliers, a digital multimeter in this exercise. I think she is no longer afraid of wires, since she tested all the motors before installing them. she now wants a butterfly robot. She also now want something that allows the arm to be mobile rather than be in a fixed base (I am thinking Revell Vexplorer). She plays with it by getting pencils from a case. Great weekend activity, quite educational, even for a 42 yr old. Very good value for the money. 』
(Fairly Difficult to Put Together) 『You have to put this thing together. There are a lot of parts. It's not as easy as I would have liked. Also, the clamp keeps messing up. It just stops opening and closing. Other than that though, it works well. It will take multiple inputs at a time on the controls. It's pretty smooth and looks pretty cool.』 『Riding the wings of the award winning Robotic Arm Trainer, OWI has made robotic arm technology more affordable without compromising quality. With Robotic Arm Edge, command the gripper to open and close, wrist motion of 120 degrees, an extensive elbow range of 300 degrees, base rotation of 270 degrees, base motion of 180 degrees, vertical reach of 15 inches, horizontal reach of 12.6 inches, and lifting capacity of 100g. Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (very detailed, close to real) 『my 6 yr old son and 9 yr old daughter build and rebuild the 3 models, amazing set. very detailed, kids who appreciate quality will enjoy.』
(creepy fun!) 『Really, you can't go wrong with Lego. The pieces are durable, colorful, and withstand the test of time. My son got this kit for his 5th birthday. He is a little younger than the stated age range on the box, but the instruction booklet is so well designed and easy to follow that with some guidance from mom and dad, he was able to put the figures together with no problems. It's actually a good learning experience for him to see how far he can get with the instructions before asking for a little help.
This kit makes 3 different types of creatures: a spider, a snake, and some other bug (a scorpion maybe?). It took us about an hour or so to put together the spider, but we were going slow and taking our time. The lego pieces included in the kit even allow you to move the spider's legs into different positions. The snake is also really cool with a moveable body and mouth. We haven't done the other creature yet, but are expecting the same great results. The kit comes with enough pieces to make one of these creatures at a time.
The only thing I would change (and it's the same for all lego kits) is that I wish these kits came with their own tupperware type of storage container to keep the different kits separate. I suppose you can use any old tupperware though and create your own storage. We end up dumping the pieces in with our LEGO Ultimate Building Set. The differnent kits end up getting mixed together, but the bin keeps them all in one place.
Definitely recommend this kit for the creepy creature lover in your family!』
(Cute, very creepy set!) 『If you have a spider lover in your house, be sure to get this guy! It's a very easy put-together but the fun that goes into afterwards is amazing. I particularly like the long claws or toenails that it stands on and the green eyes. Wow! Every boy's dream here, no doubt. The snake you can build with it is equally creepy but pretty cool. This is one of the neatest sets we have and has provided hours of fun. It went together pretty quickly for a seven-year-old and has been extremely durable, moreso than some of the other Lego sets we have. Highly, highly recommend!』 『Build a realistic and scary spider with eight long legs, big fangs and a bulging abdomen that can move up and down. Make it even scarier by rebuilding it into a creepy bug or slithering snake. Spider legs move at two joints. Includes instructions to build both models. Spider measures over 10" wide. 193 pieces. 』
