(Outstanding blocks!) 『These blocks are great -- well constructed and safe, like all HABA toys, but also brightly-colored and fun. Our baby (now 8 months) has been enjoying these blocks for months, and she clearly prefers them to her other set, which seem so much more drab in comparison. The yellow block with green bell is her current favorite and she loves make it jingle. These blocks were my introduction to HABA toys and I am now a convert.』
(Basically Brialliant) 『I'm fortunate enough to live close to a toy store in Germany that carries HABA products and picked these up for my 11 month old. They are basic in a brilliant way and keep my son fascinated and will probably do so for a while yet. Another plus is that they are handcrafted with more natural than man-made materials, so essentially safe of babies to put in their mouths. While HABA products are somewhat expensive (I have spent more that $300 dollars on them) I do not regret a single purchase and I am glad to support handmade craftsmanship (and the healthy development of my son).』

This is an excellent set to be able to get enough roof tiles to actually cover the roof of a house. It is a bit expensive, but it's not too easy to go about it any other way. The doors and windows are a very large scale. They're just fine, too, if you like this size. I'm not a fan, myself--I like the older style of doors and windows. But those are basically out of production. I would think most kids would be fine with them.』

(Great Collector Set!!!!) 『First off, yes, this is an expensive set, but it is totally worth it for the older child/adult collector! The set is rated for 16 and up and with good reason. There are no numbered bags in this kit, and with over 3,000 pieces, this makes finding the pieces a bit more challenging than the normal sets. The construction itself was not difficult (I am an adult)and the pieces in it are amazing. The jester heads and gold pieces alone make this set really fun. Add the power functions (this was my first power function set) and the music and it is unbelievable! The set is built so that when you turn on the motor and the carousel spins, the music will start by itself. The only thing I could think that might make this set better is if it had lights. My children have been turning it off and on and there have been no issues with the durability. Once built, you need to put a hard board under it before you attempt to move it as the base piece is not strong enough to support the weight while moving. Looking for something fun to do? (Math Teacher who LOVES K'Nex for kids) 『I am a Middle School Math Teacher and I purchased some K'Nex projects for my students. Some of the reviews here about K'Nex seem to blame K'Nex because they and their 7-year-old couldn't get an "instant" toy to appear. My students worked on these projects over the course of weeks, exploring the directions and understanding the "engineering" dynamics of the project. These are more learning experiences than toys. I HIGHLY recommend them for the classroom setting. They definitely link students to higher levels of thinking. Keep up the great work K'Nex!!!!』

(A frustrating experience!) 『This was received as a birthday present, and I'm sad to say that I would not recommend this product to anyone! My 10 year old son and I have been working on it all day, and it's still not assembled. He is getting very frustrated, and as for me, I'd like to throw the whole thing into the trash! The main problems are: 1) There are NO extra pieces. So if one of the many little pieces is misplaced, too bad, there is nothing to be done except leave it out and hope it's not important. If they had only put in some extra pieces, much frustration could have been avoided. 2) The diagram is very difficult to figure out. We needed a magnifying glass and a flashlight and it was still difficult to figure out how to properly connect certain pieces. The colors are rather indistinct on the diagram which does not help matters. 3) For some unknown reason, certain of the stabilizing bars do not connect correctly and thus cause the other pieces to twist. We had to leave out some of these stabilizing bars and are hoping it does not cause the coaster to be weak in certain places. 4) We have just begun putting on the track pieces, which has presented a whole new level of confusion. For the life of me I cannot figure out from the diagram where the track pieces go. My son is doing his best, but it is nearly impossible to tell how the track pieces relate to the frame. We are using the picture on the box more than the diagram. Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Great fun) 『A couple of years ago, my son received his first Thomas Lego Duplo set (James at Knapford Station). It was fun to make James, but the fact that it didn't have enough tracks to play was frustrating to him. He was also a bit young (2 1/2) to play himself.
However, since he's been four, he has enjoyed the sets that we've collected.
Spencer is really cool. Whether your child is a fan of Thomas and Friends or not, he or she would probably enjoy playing with this set. There are enough tracks to make a circular track, so along with the Legos to make the station and the Spencer train, this is a complete set.
One drawback to this set (as compared to some others, such as the Thomas starter set) is that it doesn't come with the instructions on putting each part together. It's not that hard to figure out, but with the instructions, it's more age appropriate, because the child is challenged, yet instructed, how to put it together his or herself.』

We also got some more legos, and straight and curved track pieces, and he plays with it for hours on a daily basis. The tracks don't always stay together on really plush carpet, but you can connect them with flat lego pieces to solve that problem. On the surface, this looks like a really nice building toy, some combination of classic k'nex and building blocks similar to the lego style. However, my kids soon discovered that the blocks just do not stay together. It's basically impossible to build the bulldozer with the rubber belts around the wheels because the belt just keeps pulling off the axles from the main body of the machine. They just won't stay on. The other blocks do not stay together either. The traditional k'nex pieces of the rods and the spokes work great, but for the blocks, stick with Legos. 』 『Build 10 models with this cool construction building set.
