Mega Brands America Inc. - Megabloks - Montreal
Usually ships in 24 hours Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Awesome for a boy who loves all things Army) 『My son is into all things Army and loves Legos. Well, Lego doesn't have Army stuff, so thank goodness Megablocs has come out with this. This tank is huge - a lot bigger than I expected. It was a lot of fun to build and seems very sturdy other than the top turret doesn't stay on very well. If you've put Legos together before, you'll soon notice that Megablocs don't fit together perfectly like Legos do. As my sister put it, Megablocs is to Legos what Timex is to Rolex. But, if you are 8, you don't really care!』
(not really meant for playing) 『this review is more for the older fan base of Halo which i imagine that that is whom mega bloks was going after, since halo is rated m. i take this line as more for display than to play with. I have helped some of my younger cousins build their legos some of the bigger pieces and found it is about the same difficulty level. that being said I would not recommend this item for anybody under the age of 10. Also if you are looking to play with these items i would highly suggest not to, since the parts are odd shaped and hard to keep in place. on a final note the instructions are hard since it is a 3d toy on paper. A definite plus is the action figures that come with the mega bloks much much better than the lego ones.』
(Impossible to assemble) 『My son saved his allowance for weeks to get the scorpion set. As it turns out the production quality of Mega Bloks is HORRIBLE. The set is impossible to assemble as some of the parts are warped, bent or overall defective. Unlike some of the other parents here, I am not willing to dig thru my children's Lego boxes to try and find quality replacement parts, so this is going back. NO MORE MEGA BLOKS - STICK TO LEGOS.』
(Leave legos to Lego.) 『I have a 10 yr old, a 5 yr old, and a 2 yr old, so trust me, I KNOW legos. These megablok sets are a POOR excuse for legos. I used to complain about the cost of real Legos, but not anymore. The engineering and design is top shelf compared to Megabloks ("MB"). The MB instructions are nowhere near as clear as lego instructions. These Halo sets do not stay together, do not hold up to play (which is really the point, right?), and thus are frustrating for the builder and the player. I have realized that if I follow the MB building plans, but substitute REAL lego parts, a few specialized MB parts, and some common sense ingenuity, it is possible to modify these models and have something that is playable. Just BEWARE parents.』
(Looks cool, weak design) 『Assembled the tank last night. Most of the assembly time is the 4 treads. In part because a deceptively large amount of bricks go into them compared to the main body of the tank, and also in part because they're first so there's more other bricks to sort through.
Pro: * Lego-compatible. * The tank looks cool and has all the articulation you'd expect from a tank. * Lego doesn't do much military themed stuff, so this will get you some camo-color bricks that you might not be able to find in legit Lego products. * The MB minifigs are awesome. They're actually little action figures, almost GI Joe level of articulation and fairly detailed. Way better than a Lego minifig. * Stickers are transparent so if you choose to put them on they look better than typical stickers do.
Con: * The treads are designed to be able to swivel (so the tank can drive over rough terrain), but to get this effect, they're each connected to the tank itself by one peg. That's not liable to stay sturdy and stable forever. Also, there's nothing inhibiting the tank treads' rotation. So if you pick the tank up, the treads flop around. * For some reason, some of the stickers are meant to go across multiple bricks. Why designers think that is a good idea escapes me. The whole point of these kits (as opposed to just buying a prefab vehicle) is so you can remake it later into whatever you want. Can't do that very well with stickers crossing brick boundaries. * The bulk of each tread cover is actually one specialized piece. This is kind of cheating, and it limits the utility of these pieces. Still, it's only 4 of the 200+ pieces, so a minor quibble.
All in all, I'd give this model a C+. Would be higher, but the floppy (probably gonna fall off the thing after a while) treads call for a downgrade. However, if all you want is something from Halo Wars to sit untouched on your shelf and look cool, this would be a good buy.』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Just bought more) 『My twin girls received a set of 32 of these as a gift for their 2nd birthday. They love them and play with them all the time, however there aren't enough to share. When I searched for them and saw how much they cost I understood why the gift giver had only given one set, and I decided to hold off for awhile. Now they are turning four, and I just bought a box of 100. They have played with them more and more over the years, and I really think it will be money well spent.』
(Wonderful toy, but overpriced) 『My 2-year-old son, my husband and I *love* playing with these. We play with them nearly every day. My son likes to build garages and tunnels and put his trains and cars in them. Since they do not lock together, it's easy to open the doors to put cars in and take them out.
I can see him learning about geometry and spatial relations with these when he's older... two right triangles make a square, six isosceles triangles make a hexagon, etc.
We received these as a gift. I, personally, would be hard pressed to pay $50 for this set of very simple plastic and magnet tiles, but they are such a good toy, I probably would anyway.』
(Fun for me too, but she does this on her own) 『I got this for my 3 year old, she loved it from day one. It was one of the first toys she would play with for long periods of time, on her own. She figured things out with it, how to create new things, shapes I wouldn't have thought of. And you can see that there is a spatial recognition going on, since certain triangles fit some places and others don't. It's great to see her need another square and grab two right triangles. A year later, she still loves them. I will say this, because I haven't seen it elsewhere, when we first got them she pinched her fingers a few times between the tiles. I have too. The tiles click together and are pretty strong. I wouldn't say it's a big deal, but it does hurt (doesn't break the skin). After a few times, you learn how to handle them so they don't get you.』
(Worth it) 『My daughter loved playing with these tiles at her friends house so I bought her some at Christmas. She's three, therefore she gets frustrated easily when they fall over, but besides that, the magnet tiles are one of her preferred toys out of the hundreds in her room.』
(Very disappointed. Wish I got something else for that price) 『I got these Magna Tiles for a 4 year old for Christmas. After seeing all the 5 star reviews I figured this is a no brainer purchase and I was happy to buy something that I thought would be a huge hit as a gift for a 4 year old. When the box came in the mail it was light and thin, like a standard box of chocolates, not substantial at all. That was the first warning that this was not going to be a great gift but I put it aside and hoped what was inside would be great.
On Christmas morning he opened it up and I was so underwhelmed and disappointed by what was inside. It looked like just a few plastic colored tiles with magnets inside the edges, nothing special. I kept saying to my sister "I spent $___ just for this?!". I felt they should have cost 1/5th of the price considering what they are, just plastic tiles with magnets in the edges.
The boy played with them for maybe 2 minutes and he built a few boxes and everything else he built fell apart so he got bored and went off to play with more fun toys. That was a few months ago. I checked in and he still barely plays with them now. And he loves to build things.
The structure of whatever you're building falls apart all the time. Theres nothing to lock them to each other to maintain the shape of what youre building. And the tiles themselves are lifeless with no real character. I think Legos would be a lot more fun because legos have character and you can lock them to each other so what you build holds together. With Magna Tiles its like building a deck of cards and if you move it a little they fall apart. What 4 year old is delicate with their toys? None I've ever met.
I was very disappointed with these tiles and I wish I could return them. I guess they make nice coasters to put your drinks on. Expensive plastic coasters.』 『3 years&up. For young minds taking flat objects and constructing 3-D objects is a new and exciting discovery. Each tile is constructed with bright translucent colors with magnets on all sides. The secret is the unique ability to attract even when they are flipped. 32 piece set.』

AT TE!!!) 『I love this toy because it will add hours of fun each day and at a great price to now when does a chance like this come along.I love the back turent the most because when the MTT comes pow!How ever there are two thing I do not like 1 it shold come at least 3 more clones.2 sometimes it will mess up like when I did not get the right stickers for it.The gun on the top is a cool thing plus it moves around.
The doors will brake eaisly though but it is a stable toy,if you want a cool battle then get this toy!!!』
(GREAT LEGO WALKER!) 『Another excellent set from Lego. Slight challenge to build (not hard but keeps you pretty busy with many features).
Pros-Design, multiple guns(all rotate) and hidden spring loaded missiles, opening hatches (especially the front cockpit opens and has a slid out pilot seat), compartments for troops and rifle holders, Battle Droid STAP flyer(with stand), the mini-figures especially a nice hair design for Ahsoka and the little Hutt Rota.
Cons-Would've been perfect with one or two more Clone Troopers and another STAP with Battle Droid to combat the AT-TE.
』
(lego at-te walker) 『The at-te walker is fun, i got mine from toys r us. On my at-te walker i added commander appo from the 501 legion and i put him it the drivers seat. If your building one i would put superglue so it does not fall apart on you, that is just my opinion. I like to mix up legos sets, for exsample i added commander fox to the republic fighter, some might come with it, i don't know.』
(The AT-TE walker) 『I love the AT-TE Walker. What I liked most about the toy is that it opens in the middle.IT took me from 8 A.M. to 9 P.M. Try not to play rough with this toy.It was bigger than I expected. And it has a lot of space inside.4 seats in the back and 2 seats in the front. This set comes with a droid, a blue STAP,2 clones,Captin Rex,Anakin,Jabbas son ,and Ahsoka (includes a blue lightsaber for Anakin and a green lightsaber for Ahsoka).』
(AT TE) 『My son loves it. It does fall apart easily, but that is a given with Lego they are toys you build. I do like that they use their imagination and build things with Legos. This is the only place it was in stock and the best price. Hours of entertainment for kids.』 『When droids attack, it's time to call in the mighty AT-TE! This powerful six-legged walker features details straight from the Clone Wars, including positionable legs, movable cannons, firing missiles, and armored hatches and cockpit that open to reveal the cabin and troop bay inside. Even with its flying STAP vehicle, the battle droid doesn't stand a chance against Anakin Skywalker and the clone army of the Republic. Includes Anakin, Ahsoka, Captain Rex, clone trooper, battle droid, and Rotta the Hutt. 799 pieces.』

Melissa and Doug
Usually ships in 24 hours Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Great value/educational toy) 『I ordered this toy for my oldest two children (almost 2 and just 3). They've been enjoying it ever since it came out of the box. The whole thing is well constructed and stores easily. The puzzles make it fun for the kids to identify shapes and colors and place them into context. It is beneficial that two triangles combine to make a square the same size as the square piece and two squares make a rectangle. The puzzle boards are two sided conveniently doubling the number of puzzles to complete. Given some of the Melissa and Doug reviews expressing concern over construction and value, I was a little apprehensive to purchase. However, this toy is worth the cost and will last until my youngest is able to enjoy it.』
(M&D Beginner Pattern Blocks) 『My 21-month old loves this toy, we play with it every day! Great fun way to learn shapes and colors! 10 puzzles for this price is a good deal!』
(My girls LOVE this!) 『I love Melissa and Doug. They have come up with some of the most creative toys around. My girls, age 3 and 2 both love this toy. The 2 year old is learning her colors and shapes, and the 3 year old likes to see how many she can do before she runs out of pieces. I would buy this again in a heart beat!』
(Great Educational Toy) 『I love this toy! We bought it for my oldest son for Christmas over 3 years ago, and now our youngest son loves it just as much. It is extremely durable~ well it has to be to survive 2 boys. A little paint has come off the edges of a few pieces, but that's it. My oldest started learning shapes and colors while playing with this puzzle, and I am using it to reinforce what my other son has already learned. We have several peg/shaped puzzles, but this is the one that my youngest reaches for first.』
(A great puzzle for little ones) 『My 2 1/2 year plays with this alot. I love that it all stores nicely in the box it comes with. She knows all her shapes and I am sure this toy has helped.』 『Little ones can now have a set of pattern blocks of their own. Featuring 10 brightly-painted wooden patterns and 30 colorful shape pieces, this set of blocks helps with the development of color, shape, and matching skills. Contains one fish, dog, butterfly, flowers, bird, and fire engine block. Stores away neatly in a durable wooden case.』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Fun and educational...teaches patience) 『My son just turned 5 and loves Star Wars and recently became interested in Legos. Although the instructions are easy for him to follow because they are just pictures, sometimes it does call for adult interaction on the smaller pieces and stickers. Its a great hour or so for us to spend together while we build it and then he plays for hours with it along with the other sets. Only down side is the small pieces and if it breaks you have to pull the instructions out again..but that is expected with all lego sets like this.』
(star wars lego) 『this one was enjoyed by my grandson and he just loved the character people in the set.』
(Grandson loves it) 『My grandson is really into lego construction toys. He LOVED this one, as he is a big star wars fan. The little people that were included with the vehicle were a big plus and he has had many hours of enjoyment from the toy. also, very fast shipping.』
(Target Set) 『I like this set. It goes well with [[ Rebel Scout Speeder]]. I got both, tore both apart, and built the Scout Speeder into a Landspeeder. The problem is, The platform kept falling off. However, I reccomend this to anyone who likes Lego Star wars. Thank you!!』
(It's very easy to build) 『My 5 y/o son is very crazy about Lego Star Wars. We've been aquiring several peices over some time. This is a set that is very small but comes with many imperial troops that it's nice to have. Also the ship is so easy to build that my son could build it by himself. It's a little fragile but it is so easy to rebuild (as long as you have the original intructional booklet) that my son builds them in 10~15 minutes. It's a nice starting set for those boys who are in love with Star Wars.』 『Send in the Imperial Dropship with its stormtrooper squad! Equipped with laser cannons and a detachable troop platform, this speedy space transport is ready to battle the Rebellion on any planet in the Empire. Includes three stormtroopers and a shadow stormtrooper pilot. Lift back up to drop the clone troop platform into battle. Imperial Dropship is 4" long. 81 pieces.』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Too small) 『[...]-- those of you on the east coast, beware. These legos are much smaller than the set we already have. Perhaps I should have known that these are the really tiny legos but the picture makes it look like this is a huge pile of legos. It's not. They are very small and it's a small pile. I'm not happy with the purchase.』
(Great addition) 『A very affordable option for adding to our building sets. We have a few of the expensive, detailed building sets, which are fun but I wanted more blocks so that we could use our imaginations. Legos are such a great toy for building so many essential skills from problem solving to creative thinking. And it's a great family activity!』
(Fabulous!) 『I can not believe how much these legos are used. They become backdrops for plays, animals, machines...this has been one of the best toy investments we have made. Great size and color assortment and they work with larger Legos also. Fantastic!』
(Excellent value) 『My almost 5-year-old daughter has developed a real interest in Legos, much to my delight (as both husband and I love playing with Legos ourselves:)) and this Lego basic bulk set was just perfect for our construction needs. There are only bricks in this set, about 576 pieces approximately, and it comes in a large blue rectangular tub for convenient storage. The colors are yellow, red, blue, white, black and green. I also plan on purchasing the basic plates, and the Lego people set to go along with this. All three of us have had such fun with these basic bricks, as we let our creativity dream up all sorts of constructions ( I mush prefer these loose sets than the themed ones actually). A great toy for creative play that encourages logical and abstract thinking too. Highly recommended.
』
(How can you improve on a 10,000 lego collection) 『We purchased this lego set and i must say I was chagrined when it arrived. It seemed ridiculously small for the price. We visited Denmark in 1976 and went to Legoland. While there we purchased a Lego set for about the same amount of money which contained ten or fifteen thousand pieces. No fancy pieces just the basic blocks and plates in many sizes. Our children used it for 7 or 8 years, then my wife took it to school to use in her second grade classroom for 25 years. Now my grandchildren have been using it for 6 years. We thought that the new set would be an exciting addition. It was hardly noticed among all the pieces, but from my long experience with kids and legos I loved the fact that the pieces were simple so that the kids can use them in a hundred different imaginative constructions. And there was enough variety among the pieces to help them find that one piece that would just fit for what they were trying to do. Sorry to be so long winded, but thanks the new addition to our collection is just fine.LEGO 4+ Basic Bulk Set』 『4 years&up. I had as much fun as him in putting it together which did not take that long. Overall, I felt that it was well worth the purchase; however, I wish that it had more to it than just a little office, main garage floor, and a "tight" garage for the tow truck. It seemed a little sparse not having more items to interact with in the main garage. Also, I would have preferred the whole thing to be a bit bigger for the price I paid.
All this being said, I was impressed that we had to build the majority of the buildings from the familiar small Lego pieces instead of pre-fabricated walls (although, there are some of these used). It was also nice to have 3 vehicles to interact with this item.
Putting this item together brought back fun memories of my Lego city when I was young and made me want to invest in additional pieces for my nephew (mainly so that I can play with them too!).』 『When the call comes in, the heavy-duty tow truck is ready to bring in just about any vehicle needing a repair to the garage. They had a blast and my 1 year old grandson continues to enjoy playing with this toy. 』
(Good toy and good FP customer service) 『We bought this to give my daughter for her first birthday. I think it's a cute toy, and she likes it pretty well. It's definitely great for a range of ages, because the features of the toy have different difficulty levels. She would have loved the roller that turns on the music months ago, and she likes it now still. She rolls it over and over, bounces to the music, and tries to grab the faces that pop up. She also likes putting the blocks (and every other toy that will fit) in the bin and raising the blue door to see the the toys inside. If your child likes to hide stuff like she does, he or she would definitely like that part too. She has not figured out how to stack the blocks yet, so the toy is something that she can grow into. She didn't take to it right off like she did the FP Sing-Along Stage, which she still adores after having played with it for over 6 months, but I do think the Silly Town offers enough variety that she will enjoy it for a while. On the first one that we got, the music and pop up didn't work. I called Fisher Price, and they offered to send me another one if I returned the music part of the toy. They emailed me a mailing label to use to return the piece, and we got another brand new Silly Town in a few weeks. I was pleased with the customer service, so that is a plus for Fisher Price!』
(Xmas gift for grandson) 『 This FP toy was purchased on a recommendation by my daughter for my grandson. She is an avid FP toy purchaser and had done all the checking on this toy before giving me the ok to buy it. We both love the durability and educational value of all the FP toys we buy.』
(Grandmáma's house toy. .) 『I keep this toy to one side and slightly behind a living room chair. Our 15 month old and 2 year old "find" it, and play with it long enough that my daughters and I can actually sit in the living room and talk for awhile.
When our 4 year old visits, he does every activity on the toy once, and then moves on to trucks and cars kept in a basket at the end of the sofa.』
(Silly town) 『I bought this for our 1 year old and he does sit and play with it. He actually likes the little stack and suprise blocks more then the playset itself. He plays with those all the time and loves shaking them. So if your looking for something less expensive buying the other stack and suprise toys with just the blocks your child will enjoy just as much. He does like lifting the blue shelf and finding the blocks under it. He does like the music the playset makes and when the silly things go up and down. Its kind of diffrent from what is out there so it was worth buying too me.』 『Designed for ages 6 to 36 months, the Fisher-Price Stack 'n Surprise Blocks Songs 'n Smiles Sillytown provides many peek-a-boo, pop-up surprises, stacking play, and silly music to delight your child and encourage skill development. The blocks are easy to grasp and stack, and feature bright colors, friendly faces, and familiar themes for your baby to build on.

The trap wall mechanism is cool, but the 'hideout' for the crystal skull behind the conquistador should be closed off. Could also use some more scorpions. As for play value, the boy and I could only get so much out of it, since there's not much room for an encounter with the native guards. Much shorter than the scene in the movie. We combined our's with the hideout and trees in the Jungle Cutter set, as well as a green baseplate, for a little more real estate. Don't let that disuade you, overall, if you're collecting, this one's a must.
Pros - It's Indy. Scorpions. Cool trap wall and dead conquistador. More bad guys is always a good thing.
Cons - Small amount of space to recreate the scene. I don't remember Mutt having his motorcycle there... Needs more scorpions.』 『Find the Crystal Skull...if you dare!
