My one year-old grandson absolutely loves this toy. It is well made, great for little ones to push around and load up and is excellent value for money.
The natural thing a little boy wants to do is climb into the back of this truck. There is a warning of course, but tots can't read. So it requires constant vigilance by guardian.
The other problem is the scoop is hard and awkward to use. It keeps flopping around during play also.
Positively, my grandson loves it at 17 months. I am sure it will be great fun in the backyard this summer.
We got this for our nephew for his first birthday. He immediately started pushing it around with a huge grin on his face. It was the perfect gift. the truck seems very durable and should withstand him beating on it over the years.
This is perfect as a first truck. Everything physically about this truck is great, the only problem I had was that the amazon description listed it as including WAY more blocks than I received with it. I then called to order a replacement and they sent me the same amount of blocks again! Luckily I hadn't sent the other box back yet, so I called to let customer service know that I was removing the appropriate amount of blocks from the first truck to add to the second truck. It seems as though they dont have an accurate description and it only made it more frustrating when the person on the phone barely spoke english. I was tempted to hold all of the blocks hostage to make up for the trouble, but decided to call it a wash and let it go. I wish customer service was staffed by more english speaking and articulate people.

this is a cool looking wooden car made of interchangeable parts (you can buy other cars and combine the body parts to customize a new car). it look durable, but also like something you might display in a collection.
My kids loved the regular sized one, I bought a set of the mini's to take different places... they are quiet toys and they play with them forever... can't wait to try them at church!
Santa brought this mini sedan and a 3pack of mini automoblox for my kids for Christmas. They love them. The 2 year old likes to play with them and the 5 year old loves to take them apart, put them back together again in different configurations. They feel good and they are perfect size for kids who like Hot Wheels sized cars. Our boys LOVE cars and these were no exception. Great toy.
In my experience, these cars are unique, entertaining, and educational. My husband is as entranced with these as my 4 year old son. The mini sedan drives very smoothly and clips back together very well.

Despite liking this toy a lot, I have to give it 4 stars instead of 5, because of problems with durability. The manufacturer claims that these cars are tough, made of solid wood and polycarbonate. However, within two weeks of receiving this car as a gift, my son handed me a torn tire. He now has a 3-wheeled car.

While this is a great little toy and the manufacturer recommends it for ages 3 and up, I would personally recommend it only for kids 6 and up, who will treat their toys a little better. The body may be durable, but the tires are easily destroyed.
This is an exceptional toy, that combines the gross motor skill training of block, the fine motor skills training of fitting pieces together in the correct manner, and the creativity of learning how to use different pieces to make unique creations.

It's solid wood, good quality, and well-packaged. The vehicles are made in the USA, although the wood is German beech wood.

The price is a bit high, but this isn't a "mass market" toy, this is a toy that seems like it could be passed down to your kid's children. Obviously, you can tell I was very happy with the toy.

In general, I have been satisfied with the Take Along Thomas line. My almost 3 year old son loves them. I'm not as pleased with Emily. I know this is nit-picky, but her proportions are not right. Her coal tender is as big as she is and she is the same size as Thomas. My son has noticed that his toy Emily doesn't look like Emily on the show, and he gets mad.
Very durable product, truly fit for toddlers, unlike the other plastic thomas toy sets (batteries needed as well).

If you buy several sets, you'll see that your kid will invent 'train stories,' which is good for creativity and cognition (vis a vis the thomat dvd's).

This product is not distributed well in other countries so when there's someon visiting the US, it's good to place multiple orders of all the characters at one time.

This Emily is a beautiful engine with shiny paintwork and gleaming brass fittings. After it rescued Oliver and Toad when they were stuck on the tracks, Sir Topham Hatt rewarded it with a brand-new pair of coaches. This engine measures 7"L x 3"W x 6.5"H.

After all the iffy reviews, I still decided to get it since my nephew loves thomas. It has stood up so far but it does carry a lot less than I hoped for.
Great-grandson needed something in which to store his Thomas engines and this works perfectly. He is very happy.
I gave this to my son for his birthday. The good news is that he loved it. The bad news is that it broke in less than an hour and he's very upset. He doesn't tend to break toys, ever, and he wasn't playing rough with it - just opening and closing. Buy something else; this is a piece of junk.
I read a lot of the reviews for this item and either they have changed what it is made out of or other children are monsters! I have had no problems with this case. My son loves to line his trains up inside and it makes putting them up and getting them out much easier. My only complaint is that it is not big enough to hold them all! =)
My son has a huge collection of Thomas Trains;hence, we were eager to purchase a carrier. Be prepared to continually bend the carrier back into shape just inorder to close the lid. The separations bend out of shape easily as well. Since you can bend it back, and it isn't to costly I give it three stars. Hope this was helpful.

Our 2 year old loves Thomas even more than his big brother did and Murdoch immediately became one of his favorites.
My 4 year old son likes enjoys a lot playing with all the items that we have gotten from Thomas&Friends Wooden Railway from learning curve. This last locomotive, Murdoch is his favorite, not only because it is the last one, he wanted it for a while, but probably because of its character in the movie.
Murdoch is the most plasticky of the Thomas engines we have bought. His geometry is also poor if you have the older "clickity clack" style of tracks (specifically, he bumps going up ascenders). My son loves his look and he is stylish, but the wheel arrangement (mentioned in numerous other reviews) leaves Murdoch a little stiff for cornering.
So he is a handsome engine, and a little awkward, but this engine has A LOT of plastic. The newer engines just keep getting more and more plastic parts. It seems antithetical to the "wooden railway" ethic to have so much plastic on an engine - even a really useful one.
this is great for all ages my 15 month loves it as well as my 3 year old.

I bought this for my son's 11th birthday two weeks ago. His is camouflage/green, but otherwise is exactly the same model pictured as Havoc Heli 10th Anniversary Edition.

This heli is lots of fun. It is very easy to fly. My son had no trouble learning to use it. I enjoy flying it, too (the first RC toy I've ever enjoyed). It has withstood many crashes so far, and seems very durable. It charges quickly, and flies for quite a while before you need to recharge. The trim works great to straighten out the heli. It flies great in our family room with 8 foot ceiling and about 14 x 16 foot floor space.

Out of the box, it doesn't fly forward much -- it tends to hover. This is VERY EASILY adjusted by taping a small, folded piece of tin foil to the front. You can suit to taste.

For the money, this is far and away the BEST remote control toy I have ever bought. Highly recommended.
This heli is easier to fly than the regular havoc heli. I really like it. It is durable too.

Measuring only six inches long the Havoc Heli is extremely lightweight and fits right in the palm of your hand. I bought this for my 2 year old grandson, he loves all of them. I just get a laugh from it, he thinks he is lightning mcqueen and momo is mater.
CARS was one of my favorite movies of 2006. There were a lot of characters from the film that I liked and related to, but the star of the film was the main racer himself, Lightning McQueen. This little car is a spitting image of McQueen. The car itself is slightly bigger than a Hot Wheels and seems to be made of a lightly stronger alloy than a Hot Wheels as well, but it is about the same size in length. The wheels are also a little stronger than a Hot Wheels. I bought one of these for myself as a display for the office, but I know several preschool children who play with some of these little Lightnings and they love them. A good toy for any fan of CARS.
I bought these for my 5 year old son who is a huge Car's fan. He was using matchbox cars and pretending that they were Lightening McQueen and friends, but when he recieved the set of these he was so excited. These cars are larger than matchbox cars, and are heavy for their size, good quality!! Great for the Car's fan in your life.
My 2 year old boy just loved the movie Cars, and he also loves Hot Wheels, and when I saw these I knew he had to have them!!
They're not actually hot wheels, but about the same size.
He adores them, and plays with them every day. I would love to get him all of the cars in the set.
He is also very rough with his toys, and they are in great shape.
This today is so awesome!My freind just got it for my on January 22nd,2007.However,it's still in the box because I hope it will be worth something someday.The movie was great!I also am a big fan of Pixar.I have all their features and shorts(including The Adventures of Andre and Wally B).Oh well,I guess I'm just gonna keep an eye out for some more of those cars.

All the trains in this collection are wonderfull.
They are really well made and have magnets so they can join onto the other trains. My son loves his train set and loves to watch them go.
A must buy for boys!
My two year old received this train for x-mas and has not let go of it yet. He is a big Thomas fan and truly enjoys playing with "not nice" Diesel. He has many other trains from the collection but this definitely is one of the favorites.
It's Diesel, it's one of my son's favourites and he couldn't be happier! The only problem I have is that - (same with all the wooden railway trains, and maybe can't be helped) - if the train's dropped on a hard floor, the paint seems to chip off pretty easily. There are no paint chips that I have seen, so it's not a safety issue - the problem is purely cosmetic. And my son's not bothered about that so neither am I.
If you're going to own Devious Diesel, he needs help and LOTS OF IT! Ever since the "Pop Goes the Diesel" incident on the Thomas and Friends show, he became who he is today: a lying, cheating, oily and scheming diesel. Personally, I think if you're going to own him, he would make a good villain in any imaginative play.

I recommend Diesel, if you want to have a "good guys vs. bad guys" cast of characters in your train set.
This guy is so much fun to have for your little one's train set! Oh, the trouble he causes in the films and now, well, he's up to no good at your house too. The imagination Diesel stirs is a ton of fun and our little one is trying to make Diesel and "good boy" all the time instead of being bad. What a great addition to our set and I'm so very glad that we finally found one here on amazon. Highly recommend!

I have a vast collection for my grandson of Thomas the Tank Engine books, tapes, and toys. His little sister is called "Rosie" and he got a big kick out of the little girl engine with the same name as his sister. Item new and in excellent condition.
one of the few girl trains you can buy anywhere. thomas trains are worth the extra money you pay. they are much more durable and best of all they roll easier than cheaper (i.e. Brio) trains. This is important if you child likes to make long trains by connecting multiples together.

My son wanted a garbage truck for Christmas. I got him the Bruder truck which is too big for now, and the Matchbox brand truck, which is perfect for him at age 3.5. These go with the Bruder garbage truck, but I went ahead and let him play with them. He LOVES them. Yes, they are way overpriced for what you get. Decent quality, but should be half the price. However, I haven't seen any similar ones elsewhere, and mine loves to play "trash pick-up" with them. We even made some trash out of foil, etc.!
My grandson has enjoyed these small versions of garbage cans for hours. They are durable. He has a toy garbage truck with its own garbage can already, but the extra cans really are nice to have!
They are made of cheap plastic but still have been a great toy to go with our garbage truck. I would recommend.
If you have a garbage truck from Bruder they hook right up and they are a fun addition. They allow "more stops" and more trash to be loaded. The bigger silver dumpster doesn't work with the side loader ( model 2763) which my son has. It may work with a Bruder rear loader which we do not own. The Silver dumpster is fun though for him to load up. If you look at dumpsters in Germany, they Silver model is something you may see on the streets but not in the US, however it holds trash and if your Son or Daughter likes playing with the trucks, it doesn't mater at all. The tall cans are the same as you may have already received from buying another Bruder truck. Overall they seem a bit pricey for what you get but thats what they cost and there are no others. Not disappointed at all, quality plastic and fun for the kid but you just know they could cost less.
These extra bins are compatible with all the Bruder rear-loading garbage trucks. Side-loading garbage trucks can only use the three smaller bins.
