Track is starting to crack in places. We got this for our 5 year old for Christmas. All he wanted was a race track, and this seems to have fit the bill. I have as much fun or more as he does. Our only complaint is that after a while the cars don't work as well coming out of the start box. They seem to spin their wheels a bit and then not have enough power left to get around the loops. When we just do it by hand, they do fine. We may try the set-up for one continuous loop next. Easy to put together, easy to use, looks cool, and it's fun. My grandson's eyes were thanks enough on Christmas morning. He loved it and still does. The cars and track are easy to assemble and work great, just that I think they are tad overpriced, considering everything except the cars is cheap. nevertless they are a lot of fun and my 4 yr old loves to race them with me. you can use your imagination to change the track config and thats adds possibilities. The donwside is the cars coudl stop functioning, 2 come with this set, one fo them stopped working in less than 3 days of use, the other one is still running after nearly 3 weeks of use..so.. My son (4 yrs) and his playmates (ranging in age from 5 yrs to 73 yrs) love this track. It is just cool and fun. The components are high quality. It is one of those toys that parents wish we had when we were young. The speed with which the cars go around the loops is impressive. I gave this 3 stars on educational as a nod to the engineering involved in setting it up and the opportunity to discuss gravity with the youngsters. Well worth the price. He says it is the BEST toy he has ever gotten. There is not educational value but lots of good fun! A good toy but the one I got had a faulty battery compartment. It took a while to figureout what was wrong and more time to devise a way to make it work. After I contacted them, TYCO did sen a replacement voucher. We had bought one of those monster trucks available everywhere for the 2008 Christmas season. Those manufactured by New Bright. What a piece of trash it was, failed in the first hour of use with magic smoke from the flimsy circuit board. That was $40 down the drain. This Grave Digger truck, however, has proven tough as nails. The only problem we have with it is the limited range of the remote control, probably around 10-12 feet. Once the truck is outside that radius, it's dead until you get back in range and then it's fine. The stunts are a lot of fun as well. Our 3 year old son loves it, so it's a hit and well worth the money. I bought this sort of as a joke for my boyfriend (and his cat). It's fun and the cat loves to chase it, but it doesn't always work and sometimes you have to hit it to get it going. Seems like there's a bad connection somewhere. Definitely pretty shoddy workmanship, so if you're looking for a quality toy or buying for someone who might throw a fit if it stops working, you might look elsewhere. My son received this truck for Christmas and absolutely loves it. He hasn't stopped playing with it. He quickly figured out the remote and has been driving the truck all around the house. My daughter just got this for her first birthday. She absolutely loves it. Great for hand-eye coordination. Loves taking the mommy and baby out and putting them back in. Loves the sound effects. I like this because the figurines go in easily and it is a nice size to hold. I wanted to buy my 1 yr. old granddaughter something with wheels to push as she makes "car driving noises" with her mouth. This toy couldn't be more cheerful and adorable. The SUV makes two "beep-beeps" when you push on the driving Mom, and another push makes the children "giggle" in the car, and another push has an adorable song that has a good rythmn to it as well. The toy is well designed and safe. I highly recommend this toy. My daughter received this as first birthday present (mainly because she loved playing with - banging together - her grandfather's 'model' cars and she needed one of her own). It is very cute and she loved pushing it around. The music played from it is fun, although it didn't take her long to figure out that if she pressed the seat over and over, the 3rd time would play the song that she does LOVE! So, she basically scrolls through the "Beep-Beep"&start up sound to get to the song. The mom&baby are very cute and durable. It also has a little stroller. I think at this point, the sounds entertain her and I think that she will enjoy it more as she gets further into pretend playing. For right now though, she has a good time just pushing it around and listening to the song. My daughters (3 and 5 years old) love this car too. We received this as a gift and were excited to open it, but quickly disappointed when we realized that it would not work with the original Cars that we have been collecting (the kind you can buy at most stores that say "The World of Cars" on the package). So, one star for this product. Feels like false advertising to be Cars branded, but then only to work with the two mini-cars that are provided (mini-Lightning and mini-The King). Seems like the company could have designed it to be a little bigger with slightly wider tracks and then all of the original Cars would be able to work on it. By the way, in our experience, we tried some Matchbox cars on it, and they tended to be too long for the track and got stuck. I purchased this toy for my 2 year old son who LOVES the movie Cars. It's the perfect size for him to carry around, it's got a nice carrying handle. I have found that regular hotwheels or matchbox cars tend to move slowly and get stuck on the way down and the regular die cast Pixar Cars are just to darn big to use. The perfect cars to use (even better then the ones that come with Raceway) are from the Pixar Cars Mini Adventure series. I am very happy with this toy - not too expensive and has kept my son's attention for more then 5 minutes! I ordered this for my sons 2nd birthday! He loves it and my husband and himenjoy trying different hot wheels to see which one is the fastest! I even enjoy playing with it! Great toy! My 2 year old son loves this racetrack but it doesn't not fit the regular matchbox cars as advertised. The sounds the track makes each time a car goes down do get a bit annoying after awhile too. Overall, though, my son does enjoy playing with this toy. our 2 year old son loves this track - most normal sized hot wheels work pretty well on it and we have races to see which car is the fastest. I will admit I wasn't aware that every time you race it says either "speed, I am speed" or makes a racing noise, which is annoying, but you could always take the batteries out. A little loud honestly (no volume control), but it's not annoying as some toys can be. I think this would have been an enjoyable learning toy for my granddaughter had it worked properly. Elmo only said the alphabet to the letter h. I don't know if that was all he learned so far or if it was a defective toy! I sure am glad I played with it before giving it as a gift! Really may have put her in state seeing that her name starts with an I! I hope everyone plays with the toys before giving them as gifts! That is what life is about...playing! I bought this as a birthday present for my two year old son. It ended up being the toy he played with (and abandoned all the rest) on his birthday. He plays the alphabet song over and over. Surprisingly my nearly 4 year old loves it too, but she plays with it differently. She uses the function where one of the character says a word and then she has to press which letter the word starts with. I was delighted to hear her repeating the words, sounding them out and then selecting the correct starting letter. Great educational toy. They have lots of fun driving it around as a bus too. Only drawback so far is that it is very loud and there is no volume control (other than the off switch). I bought this for my 2 year son at christmas time and he absolutely loves it..Hes a typical boy who likes to throw things and I am glad that we have had it for 5 months now and its still like new..I love that it teaches ABC's and is very educational..I am sure your child will love it as much as mine!The thing I love is that when hes done playing with it the bus turns itself off and it actually says "Bye bye see you later!" Fun sounds - not obnoxious. As with all TtheTrain cars - very durable, well made. Magnets hold cars together well. Both the boxcar and the open wagon with milk have very little wood on them, so paying 20$ for hunks of plastic seems a little much right?! While it is steep, as I have said before you can get these on sale if you are lucky, and add them to any train for a fun time. The boxcar's moving door sounds are clever and I found them not to be too loud or irritating like the sounds the battery powered trains make. Aside from that, they are relatively well made. My only question is why they made the dairy cars like this when in most of the videos, the dairy cars are milk tankers. I heard they used to make milk tankers...maybe search Ebay if you can find a cheaper version. Well I bought this and since there is a lack of regular freight vans, the milk van works well for that too. This Sodor Dairy Cars is handmade from durable New England hard maple.
