I bought this for my daughter last year, she LOVES matchbox cars, so I thought this would be perfect. Nothing would stay together, and I ended up throwing the whole thing out. It is all plastic, very flimsy, junk!
My son loved the idea of this toy, but it comes apart very easily. It comes in several different pieces and doesn't stay hooked together long enough to get the car through the road.
This toy isn't the most durable but we have two girls and they don't typically destroy their things. Nothing broken after seven months. They have a lot of fun with it. It doesn't make noise or work on it's own so I give it a four for educational. Get's the creative juices flowing. They are able to reassemble it themselves and it doesn't take up too much space.
This was a toy that our son just had to have for Christmas and he even asked Santa for it. We read some of the reviews and there were reports that it falls apart easy - so we were concerned. I have to say we've been presently surprised. It has held together better than we expected. The track does come apart at times, but it is not like it is a nightmare or anything. Also be aware that this toy does take up a bit of real estate. We have it sitting on a 4x4 piece of plywood and it takes up almost the whole space.
Be aware that it takes a long time to put this thing together. It's in about 600 pieces, so I would recommend putting it together when your kids are asleep or at school rather than let them see the box and then have to wait 2 hours for you to get it together. The picture seems much more exciting than the actual toy once put together.
Action City Parking Garage is an exciting new place for you and your vehicles to explore. Drive in and around the garage and discover the gas station, snack shop and four parking garage levels. Insert the plastic card and the gate on the fourth level releases, letting your vehicle speed down toward the bottom. There are two ways to exit the garage; just turn the switch to choose. My sons got this from Santa last year and it was a huge hit! Unfortunately, it did not survive the whole year (10 months). This truck was responsive and quick to spin, speed around obstacles or go over them with its great big wheels. This toy is meant for the outdoors and had no problems running over the rough terrain or work long distances.

Gravedigger will probaly last for a long time - as long as your child refrains from crashing it. My sons enjoyed ramming them into rocks or each other and the wear and tear finally messed up the internal gears and one died while the other just kept spinning. It did take a lot of knocks before it finally gave out!

I recommend this truck as a gift to a boy (4-10) as long as constant crashing isn't the goal.
Gave to 4 year old for birthday present. It was his favorite gift and all the kids loved it. I was worried about him being able to operate it and that was not a problem. It was well worth the money and made a 4 year old VERRRRRYYYYY HAPPPPPYYYYYY...
It was a B-day present for a 7 Yr old. He loved it and so did all the rest of the boys at the party.
At 3 1/2, our boy can make this truck do everything it's designed to. The pistol grip control helps him to keep just one hand pushing buttons, too. The battery install in the controller isn't very intuitive, but once we got that right (read directions, eh?) all systems were GO! The two built in stunts are a big hit, too.

We're not into gory stuff, so we removed the yucky decals on the sides.
We gave this truck to our 10-year old nephew. Once we got the batteries into it, the car was played with non-stop all day. Even our 3-year old niece was able to operate the car once she was shown the controls. The car goes forward and backward and stands up on the back wheels and spins in a circle. The car stands up to crashes into walls and other objects. It takes 8 batteries, but the car was still going strong after 6 hours. This was the hit toy at our Christmas. I would recommend this product--highly.

My child loves Thomas. The Sodor collection is a must have. I believe it will bring any collector a smile.

My son received this Bruder tow truck with Jeep when he turned three. After nearly a year he plays with it every day. He puts the Jeep through different scenarios - it can be dragged by front wheels, lifted by crane, lifted by wheel clamp/chain mechanisms. The flat bed tilts up, the cab tilts forward to expose the engine. It is surprisingly realistic. The plastic is light weight but nothing has broken. The best part (for me) is that it makes no sound effects. It is kept indoors.
My son got this toy for Christmas. He plays with it all the time. The neatest thing about it is that there are so many other construction toys in the line that share the same detail and scale. My son is 6 and never tires of these (nearly 2 months now).
This truck breaks too easily to be used by the sturdy little boys who enjoy this kind of toy.

(A Tough and Fun Toy for my Infant/Toddler)

I got this truck for my son for Christmas. He likes the truck and the noises it makes however he gets frustrated that the truck will barely move on carpet. It has to be used (if you want it to go on it's own) on hard floors.
Other than that the truck is great.
My son likes to put little toys in the back and push it around the house. It seems to be very durable seeing as how he has banged it and dropped it numerous times and it has held up wonderfully with a roudy 18 month old!
This fisher price toy is fair. My 8 month old son is able to press down on the cow and watch the truck move on its own and encourages him to crawl after it. But it doesn't go very far and is extremely slow on carpet. My son doesn't really care for this toy and prefers a caparable toy by the wiggles which goes much faster and further. good concept but doesnt deliver.
When the Cow is pressed the truck rolls a short distance so that it encourages a crawling child to chase after it but not so far they loose interest in the toy. The sheep and pig make cute noises when shook and are great to chew on. This toy is really made to be used on tile or hardwood surfaces because on carpet it doesn't really seem to go anywhere but spins it's wheels.
I bought this for my typical 17 month old and my 6 year old disabled daughter. They both learned how to make the truck go by itself about the same time. We look for toys that will provide some type of therapy and this one works very well.
A Tough (well-built) and Fun Toy for my 18 month Infant/Toddler. Also, my 4 year old likes it too.

Our three year old son received Mack from his uncle for his birthday. He loves it! He plays with it every day. He and his twin sister put Lightning McQueen in the back and pretend to wash him, brush his teeth and get him oil from the refrigerator. I liked that this 2008 model comes with Lightning McQueen instead of having to purchase him separately. I would agree with some of the reviews from the older model that the plastic does seem a little cheap and flimsy in some of the smaller parts. But, so far it has held up to daily play by two three year olds without breaking.
All the fun and adventure of the hit Disney/Pixar movie CARS is folded up into this playset. Mac the Truck has a few surprises hidden inside his trailer -- just unfold it to reveal a complete car wash and tune-up shop ready to open for hours of fun. My son really enjoys these "trucks" over his other plastic ones. The colors are vibrant and I like not having to worry about high lead levels in the paint.

Thomas becomes more animated than ever! We gave these to our son for his third birthday. They have become a much loved part of his wooden railway system. He loves to pretend they are making trouble and giggling all the while. We've only had them a few weeks, but they seem to be very durable and have already received enough play to be well worth the cost. We highly recommend this addition to any wooden railway set.
As usual, Learning Curve delivers a great, sturdy product for my son's Thomas set. He loves those Troublesome Trucks, and loves to make up practical jokes to have them do as he's playing with his set.

The Troublesome Trucks are the rascals of Sir Topham Hatt's Railway who take great delight in causing trouble for whichever engine has to pull them. Noisy and silly, they talk a lot and do not attend to what they are doing. The Troublesome Trucks are actually mixxed goods wagons, so they can be used at all areas on the island, but especially enjoy causing trouble at the coal mines and quarries.
Thomas Wooden Railway vehicles, track and destinations are not compatible with Take Along Thomas items.
