Toys r us, Target and Walmart sells these cars for $4 and these yeh-whos charge 4 time that much ($15) kind of a rip off if you ask me. These are the exact same cars you get form the other stores. But that being said I got the car in a timely manner and it was in great shape. It's fun to collect these 1:55-scale, die-cast action-sized vehicles! We love cars and these are great toys obviously designed by someone who is into cars. The details are fantastic and the build quality is first rate. As there are only a few parts per car my son does get bored with them somewhat quickly but always comes back to them to play with. We have owned them for over six months and there are absolutely no concerns with durability at this point. The tires are make of silicone (like the Livestrong bracelets) so I expect they will last for some time to come. These are not disposable Matchbox cars. These are high quality toys that will easily be in the family or passed along for years to come. Automoblox cars are very attractive, roll well, and have nice, sturdy wood bodies. Not sure how sturdy the wheels are since the tires come off and seem like they can tear with rough play, but they have not broken yet. The kids have fun taking the cars apart and putting them back together again, like a puzzle game. This is an exceptional toy, that combines the gross motor skill training of block, the fine motor skills training of fitting pieces together in the correct manner, and the creativity of learning how to use different pieces to make unique creations. It's solid wood, good quality, and well-packaged. The vehicles are made in the USA, although the wood is German beech wood. The price is a bit high, but this isn't a "mass market" toy, this is a toy that seems like it could be passed down to your kid's children. Obviously, you can tell I was very happy with the toy. Sir Topham Hat actually moves up and down when you drive the car. It's not as sturdy as the trains so I don't expect it to last as long. This is a great addition to our Thomas the Train set- my little boy loves it! My grandsons just love the 'topham hatt' car! This is a wonderful little toy for anyone who is into Thomas toys. My grandsons especially love the wooden 'learning curve' Thomas trains. There are trains and tracks on my floors all the time, seems like, but I love watching them play with them. (Cool Toy) (Loved by my boys) My son LOVES trucks and although this truck seemed a bit pricey ($[...]) I am so glad I purchased it. The truck is very good quality - sturdy with real rubber wheels. The fact that it actually functions alone puts it above any others you may be considering. It has a tank that you can fill up behind the cab that allows a hose to function that is part of the cement truck, and if you fill up the cement mixer with water and turn the crank it slowly pours out of the cement chute at the back. After purchasing this truck I checked out the maker's web site - I think they make every truck imaginable! We got this cement mixer for our son two years ago, when he was not quite 3 years old. From the first day, he was thrilled. I think he liked that it was bigger than his other toy trucks. He had no trouble figuring out how to make all the parts work, and has played with it pretty regularly since then. Overall, it's a nicely detailed, sturdy truck, that has provided him with many hours of entertainment. Some of the parts of the truck do come off from time to time - the hose gets disconnected, the pail doesn't stay hanging on its hook, even the main mixing cylinder has been known to come off from time to time. The nice thing, though, is that they're easy to reassemble, and the parts themselves haven't broken, even with a couple of years of not-so-gentle use. In my book, that counts toward the "durability" rating. They're a bit more expensive than some of the alternatives, but the quality is much higher, as well. Overall, we've been very pleased with this truck. We got our son another truck from Bruder last year, and will get another one this year. He loves them, too, and that's the best testimonial of all. Good overall. Nozzle to hose disconnects easily and bucket/pail does not stay on holder well during travel. My 3 year old son enjoys the colors. Hard plastic seems flimsy, but is very durable with occasional "crashes" performed by my son and daughter. A little pricey, but it is difficult to find quality cement mixers. Definitely recommend! My three year old loves this toy. It's great because there are no batteries required only imagination. It has a working hose and uses real water. It can be messy with water spilling out but it is a lot of fun for my preschooler. This cement mixer has moving parts such as the actual mixer and the chute (where cement comes down). It is great to use in the sandbox. My boys can pour sand into the top opening. Turn the handle one way, and the sand goes into the mixer. Turn it the other way, the sand inside the mixer gets poured out down the chute. A little pricey, but realistic and engaging. A realistic cement mixing truck that will leave you spinning! Operate the crank to make the cement mixer actually spin -- fill the mixer with sand or rocks and watch them spill out like a real truck! Putting the stickers on is a little tedious but not bad. I think its a great 1st track since there are no tracks and pieces to come apart. Everything is screwed down or molded in and I love just throwing all his car, motorcycles and trains in there when he's done and shutting the lid! Fantastic alternative to train table. We had a train table and my boys loved to play with it but got frustrated by the tracks always coming apart. This table is perfect, my 6 1/2 year old loves it as well as our Two year old for whom it was intended. I love that it is light enough to move it outside on a nice day and everything gets stored inside...no mess! The fact that all the roads and bridges are part of the table makes it fantastic for all ages no frustration!!!! Would recommend to anyone.... This is a super alternative to the usual train tables with removable tracks. I love that there's no mess in my living room from this, and my 2-year-old daughter loves to play with it. She has the wooden trains that come with it and a Thomas train that works just fine with it. I had a few minor problems with it, but certainly recommend it highly despite these problems-- it's an excellent toy and priced well. -Stickers: it was difficult to get the stickers lined up properly, and two of them keep bubbling up no matter how well I stuck them down. I wish Step 2 would design it with the decals already in place, or painted on. -Lid: mine arrived damaged, and I called Step 2 for a replacement. It's a pain, though, to figure out what to do with the lid while the toy is in use. It's large and a bit delicate because it's not plastic, but a cheap board. I wish this part was better designed to fit into the toy somehow, and/or to be made of more durable material (why not plastic like the rest of the toy?). -Trains: one of mine was glued wrong so it didn't fit the other two pieces, and again, Step 2 replaced it when they replaced the lid. Aside from that, my daughter is enjoying this very much, and Step 2 has done it again with an innovative and long-lasting toy. This is one of the best train tables that I have found especially for younger kids. my son got this for his 2nd birthday and it is by far his favorite toy. The table is very sturdy, he climbs over it all the time, the tracks work with the thomas trains, and hot wheels cars. The fact that their is a cover for it makes it quick to turn into a arts and crafts table, also it's nice that it comes with three cars and three magnetic connectable trains. One of the best aspects of this table is that the track is contained which means the train or cars don't fall off the track and the track doesn't come apart if handled to roughly which can be very frustrtaing for little ones. no my 9month old loves to stand up holding on to it and watch his brother play with the choo choos. I would highly recommend this table to anyone. My son absolutely loves this table... keeps him occupied for hours! It was pretty easy to put together. My only frustration was that it did take a bit of muscle since there were no pre-drilled holes. A drill would be highly recommended. One of the bridge pieces also doesn't seem to fit quite right. Nice toy for using hands better. This brand is durable, high quality, and worth every penny. We now have several Brueder toys and they are all still in constant use even though our 5 and 6 year olds are rough with them. Highly recommended. I have to say, I was just as excited to play with this truck as my 2 1/2 year old son! It is so realistic, yet easy for little kids to figure out and use. You can adjust the length of the arm of the crane, the angle at which it sits, and even move the cab of the truck up and down to "work" on the engine. The hook at the end of the line of the crane is metal, which is nice because everything magnetic sticks to it. My son loves to pick up his toy trains and move them around to different spots on his train table. Of course you can also hook things to it to move them. An added bonus: very easy to get out of the packaging! A wonderful toy and worth paying a little extra for. This seems like it will last forever! I bought this truck for my 5 year old son and he LOVES it. It sparked his imagination - constructing a pallet out of Popsicle sticks and attaching it to a string so he can load it up and move it with the crane. It's also very sturdy such that he can pull on the string without breaking the toy. I also love it since it does not make those loud annoying sounds. Not at all like that stuff that comes from China. This is a well build machine that my two year old boy actually sleeps with. He LOVES this crane and play very rough with it and everything is just fine. Another toy he got that day was an Elmo Live and he literally ran over it with this truck. He got the ball popper wihich he paid no attention to. He got a lawn mower that makes popping noises and he paid no attention to it either. If you can see in the picture of the truck the big red handle above the shovel...he stands and holds this handle and walks with the truck pushing it backwards. I guess he loves it so much because he is learning to walk and this gives him the mobility he wants. He gave my wife out following him around. Great toy! Don't pass it up because of the mindless bad reviews. I am only speaking for boys around the time they are learning to walk. My boys have the entire set of these trucks&they love them. They use them indoors&outdoors&they have been extremely durable (my boys can be very destructive!). This truck is large, heavy (which is good when pushing dirt) and fun! This is made with the same quality as all of Tonka's trucks. The description is a bit misleading though. It is made out of plastic, more than metal and suitable to a younger child. We will be returning it (it was to be for our 5-yr.-old's xmas present)and finding him a bulldozer that is more age appropriate. But it would be fabulous for a three-year old! (After Two years of use it's time for another one) Ok, I like Thomas and Friends as much as the next guy, but the prices do not reflect quality. Essentially, Lady is a plastic toy with a wooden block in the center. The painted surfaces of the wood appear strong, but the pain on the plastic parts rub away without much effort. Now, Lady is sitting on her track with one eyebrow ':) Questionable quality, 90 day warranty, lack of educational value (except for the DVD series). I'll give a generous 3 stars overall. Lady is the beautiful magenta engine with gold trimming who holds the key to the secret of the Magic Railroad. If you've seen the movie Thomas and The Magic Railroad featuring Peter Fonda and Alec Baldwin, you'll be familiar with this charming Lady. Lady is a straightforward engine (meaning, she doesn't have any moveable parts), but she is attractive. Although my son asked for her, he doesn't take her out much for some reason! (He has dozens of the trains for the wooden tracks--and even has a die cast Lady. He *did* play the diecast version to death, though, wearing off her paint job!) If your little one loves the Thomas movie and seems enthralled by Lady, it will likely be a welcome addition to the collection. You may want to pick up Diesel with Pinchy, though, so your child can replay the scene in the movie! I purchased this for my granddaughter as a gift. I'm not familiar with this line of toys and I was very disappointed when I saw this toy. The description gives the dimensions as 2.1 x 5.0 x 5.0 inches. This little train engine is actually about 2.5 inches long, 2.0 inches tall and 1.25 inches wide. I would not have paid $11 for this if I had known. Poor lady, in our house, sits relegated to the corner of the play room. For some reason, this is not one of my son's favorite engines...he has so many to pick from, and she never gets chosen to haul the other coaches.... I was really disapointed when I found my Lady's paint chipped off in most places. We need a new one now and that's a bummer becase I have at least 70 thomas trains and most of them survived pretty well . This Lady engine is handmade from durable New England Hard Maple. (Figure Eight set plus Expansion Pack - Exceptional Value) (Great Buy) My grandson was obsessed with Thomas for a full three years, and he got just about every Thomas Train and accessory available. These are wonderful toys, well-made and he played with them for hours. However, when the train phase is over, it is over. You don't need to pay the rather high prices for new Thomas stuff - there must be another child who has just outgrown his and you can get it used. It will still be in terrific condtion and just as much fun to play with. Most Thomas sets are constructed in such a way that require you to buy additional dual ended pieces in order to be able to connect them to other sets and this expansion set was the only thing I found that included a couple of these extra linking pieces. Not only does my 3 year old son have endless hours of fun putting the tracks together, but my husband and I also really enjoy putting them together in a variety of ways. These tracks act like a puzzle that grows with your child as he develops. Our son started learning to connect them end to end, then he began connecting them in circles and ovals, and he is beginning to experiment with layering in figure eights and using bridges. I highly recommend this set to anyone who wishes to make Thomas track building easier while enhancing their child's ability to learn through building. what else can I say? I bought this expansion set for my little train crazy preschool boy&our fun doubled. A very good addition to your basic figure 8 set. BUT, you can find less expensive track from Brio that is compatible with Learning Curve's. There are a couple of other's out there if you're looking to save money...just check ebay for instance. That, said, I do like the look of Learning Curve's track&the road markings on the straight pieces. The roadway expansion set will also compliment your figure 8 nicely as well. My three year old son received the Water Tower set plus the Expansion Pack for his birthday. He also has a sizeable collection of the trains themselves, as they have been rewards for potty training. He has found at least one hour of enjoyment out of them every day for the past three months. Every night comes 30 minutes of dedicated train and track time, more if time permits. Then, he makes sure all of his trains are with him in bed so he can play school with them or throw parties for them or whatever for at least another 30 minutes. The inclusion of the expansion pack allows us to create a wide variety of layouts to retain interest. The combination has a healthy number of switches that allow for interesting loops and even loops within loops. We also have the roundhouse, which helps. The personalities of the Thomas character set (Henry, Gordon, etc etc) and the associated storylines provide a rich world for the little guy to step into.
